Msi z87 both bios fail help me

i sent it to some technical shop and they said it's bios fail but they had problem they said they need the bin file or what ever it extension to setup it through spi programmer usb or something like that but they failed to get it through msi site and they need me to contact msi supporters to provide me with that file so they can charge my bios again
because on the site only the exe normal users file and they need the one they can use through spi programmer can the moderator help me please and gimme this file to give them
my motherboard is
msi z87 mpower revision 1.0 first release and i want one to work with i54690k the latest bios update with some extension to work with spi programmer tool

okay the motherboard at last now can work but here is the issue after we used the binary file to make the bios and its done
the motherboard powers on and boot at some models of power supply the old models at the technical shops which they use
Ex: cougar S 700 watt
while it do this issues with other models :
1st : maybe no power at all never take the power or leds light up after several trys with EX psu : seasonic eco 600 watt
2nd : powers on but don't boot just the leds light up and and the debug code doesn't work stays 00 and no screen but leds lights up only and vga fans etc EX: psu cougar 700 watt cmx (new model recent sellable at shops)
3rd :  with other psu it just had other symptoms like infitie restart loops
so at prief the motherboard work with the old 700 watt psu at technical shop but the same brand newer model sold now days same wattage 700 watt cougar fail to make the motherboard boots could someone suggests to me anything to do
what could make some motherboard with fine with an old psu 700 watt and fail with same but newer model at market now which already tested and works with other motherboards fine

  • Flashing of MSI Z87-GD65 GAMING failed and dual bios not helping, not sure why?

    Hi all
For the first time in 20 years Ive had a firmware flash fail it seems.
I have a MSI Z87-GD65 GAMING and updated the bios with the latest firmware via the "M-FLASH" utility within the systems bios.
All seemed to have gone well, it flashed to 100% rebooted and then just a blank screen and a sequence of keyboard light flashes.
After a minutes panic I thought not to worry, the motherboard has a dual bios.   So I powered down and switched the bios switch to bios B hoping it would assist and the problem is identical.
    Any tips anyone?

I just tried this along with removing power from the main board and it seems one of the two did it!   thanks

  • Default MSI Z87-G45 Lan/Usb Help needed.

    Hello,
So yesterday i massively upgraded my pc with the following components:
    MSI Z87-G45
    Intel Core i5-4670K
    GeForce GTX 780 3GB (Classified)
and kept my old Ram (Gskill ripjaw ddr3 3x4gb) ,Hd's PSU. and i am using windows 8.1
The main problems i am having are as follows:
    1. I am unable to get the usb ports to recognize most things i plug in. This included a USB flash drive and a wireless network stick.
    2. I am unable to install any Lan items from the mobo factory disc. The option to install the LAN drivers are greyed out on the disc menu, and when i search for them they will not install. Now i've found them online and downloaded them to a Usb Drive, but i can't use that because the USB drive won't be recognized by windows.
Any help on these issues would be so greatly appreciated, i am getting terribly frustrated and don't know what to do.
I have checked the Bios and it appears to be current, i have also reset the Mobo battery at the request of MSI.

have you done a new fresh OS installation after mainboard change?

  • MSI Z87-G45 BIOS Temps

I am having an issue with the BIOS displaying 99 degrees Celsius in the BIOS menu. It ramps up rather quick loading into the BIOS from around 50 degrees to 99 which it stays at. Touching the heatsink itself it feels cool to the touch which leads me to believe its not displaying the temps right. Also in windows my idle temps are around 45-55 but under load they can go up to the high 90's.
I am using a MSI Z87-G45 board with a 4670k Haswell which I know run a lot hotter and seems to cap at 100 degrees with just the stock cooler... well until my new cooler ships.
If I were to guess I would say it seems the BIOS is putting some load on the CPU, which would be fine just seems odd. Any insight anyone had on this situation would be great as the little research I have done I have never seen anyone open up the BIOS to temps any higher then 55 degrees on YouTube.
    Thanks guys

I just checked that literally after posting that thread. I was certain that it was seated well as I've been playing all types of games on it with no issues but thought I would reapply some paste... only to see that it didn't even make contact. Makes me remember why I'm not a huge fan of the stock Intel cooler hold downs. Now I'm bordering on embarrassed and amazed that the CPU didn't start frying or at least restarting.
Thanks for the help none the less.

  • MSI Z87-G45 BIOS

So today I decided to check how my MSI Z87-G45 Gaming, Socket-1150 BIOS looked like so i pressed the enter BIOS option on the GO2BIOS utility app, my PC restarted and the screen stayed black for 10 minutes.... So I booted back to windows and disabled fast boot and tried to enter BIOS manually that didnt work either. So my problem is that my BIOS won't show at all. The PC is functional and there are no problems with it, can still boot into windows and go on about my day. But i would love to be able to enter BIOS.....

Oh great you found the solution  Thanks for an update

Not going to get much with help here at this forum with exotic OC'ing. Most that come here just want their machines to work stock/auto/default, or an everyday sustainable OC within normal published limitations. Might try OC clubs, HBot, Extreme Systems, or places like that.

"THE KOMPUTER WAS GREAT UNTIL CHANGE BIOS"
don't think that your problem will be solved by BIOS update. you have to ask about your problem 1st, and not to try to fix yourself.
anyway what is done is done, cannot roll back the time.
    that message:
    "THERE NO HARD DISK RESTART""
    few variants:
there is no HDD detected,(no power cable or data cable, or mistyped jumper configuration) no property boot device configured, or there is no active partition on HDD which you have tried to boot from.
BIOS update will not help with that for sure.

  • MSI 5900 Ultra bios mod help!!!

Has anyone else with the 5900U  tried flashing to 5950u?  I have tried using MSI 5950U bios but found it "flickered" too much for my liking and now am back to original bios.
I would like to hear fellow MSI users opinions on this particular card and what kind of experiences you've had with the bios flash.
Ultimately I would like to flash my card to a 5950U but would like to hear more opinions with MSI cards before I try again.
    All help is greatly appreciated.

    hi,
See H20 reply about ram speed.
    Your guess could be right.
The temp is lower. When you autodetect for speed adjustment, it gets lower speed reflecting its 5900 root (maybe hardware control/lock), but still higher than I can oc the 5900. At default it is 475/950. Manual adjustment reach 503/1.02g, but not stable.
Maybe new nVidia driver can help.
There is another site, http://www.mvktech.net that you may have visited, where there are alternate msiBios (probably the same though). Seems rev2 works for people on some forum.
Notice that not many msiUsers here are onto this topic. Any guesses? Restrictions?

  • MSI Z87-G45 Bios won't update

    Hi,
I am fairly new with DIY PC's and I tried updating my bios to the latest version today. Currently, it is in version 1.5, but the latest is 1.7. I downloaded Live Update 5, considering that it might be the safest way for a newbie to update his motherboard. So I downloaded the update from Live Update 5. I reach into the application and it says to close every program... Ok, done that. Now, when I click next it says in an error message: "Can't load drivers".
I am very confused at what "driver" I could be missing. When I installed windows and everything, I updated my gpu, ethernet and audio drivers. With Live Update 5, prior to updating my bios, I updated my audio and ethernet drivers again (newer versions). I don't really want to use a usb stick to update my bios because if it doesn't work under windows, the result could be even worse if done directly in the BIOS, I guess.
In summary, what could cause this error message "Can't load drivers" to pop up?
    Thank you!

    Get rid of Live Update from your pc. Use the forum's archive and flash method;

Install all drivers downloaded from an MSI Website and install them manually.

  • MSI K9A Platinum BIOS fails to post after inserting Radeon HD 5750

Ok so I'm Giving one of the ageing rigs in my house a little boost for my sons birthday by grabbing him an XFX Radeon HD 5750 to put into his system, at the same time I upgraded the PSU (OCZ Steath 650W), however the machine failed to post at all so took the card out and checked for a new BIOS version, happily I saw version 1.9 on the download site which is said to resolve VGA issues so grabbed it burnt to a CD which took a bit of reading since mainboard manufacturers don't seem to realise that floppy drives died out years ago in the home PC sector and flashed the new BIOS, then once I was sure tha machine was fine after that shut down and put the new card in only for the exact same thing to happen.
I Hope someone can point me in the right direction on this, I have heard of people getting this card to work on this board with a beta BIOS but I'm not sure where to go for that.

If you're referring to the serial number, it can also be found on the motherboard box.

  • MSI K7N420 - Bad BIOS Flash - HELP !!!

I recently tried to install v2.70 of the K7N420 BIOS ...
i booted up my computer .. all was going well .. until the last section of the progress indicator.
my system hung at this point for a LONG time.
so i assumed maybe the BIOS was done flashing, and i really had no choice at that moment.
    well it didn't post.
so i slapped in a PCI vid card and i got it to post.
says something about Award BootBlock ...
im guessing this is the "recovery" BIOS.
it asks me for a system DISK so i put one in with it to automatically flash the BIOS.
problem is .. it says that the bios is "write-protected" and to check my jumpers.
well ... i checked the manual, only reference to BIOS and jumpers is the one to clear CMOS, i tried that and no luck.
i also tried the /Wb command during flashing to write to BootBlock and again no luck.
anyone know maybe where these "jumpers" are or what i can do ???
i REALLY need to get this computer up and running.
    Thanx!

well i tried what gfilitti suggested... twice actually ... the second time leaving the battery out for over  3 hours ....
yet no luck ... ill detail EXACTLY what happens when i turn on PC.
Mainboard without pci gfx card (using onboard) = NO POST
When i insert my old ATI 3dxpression+... computer boots up (shows spinning ati logo while video BIOS loads)
then my mainboard loads and this is what it says:
    Award BootBlock BIOS v1.0
    CMOS Checksum Error
    Insert System Disk.
so i insert a bootable disk i made (also tried using win98se bootdisk and placing bios files in RAMdrive)..
goes to the BIOS update screen...
    says this:
    Erasing Flash - 0FE00 ok
then the progress indicator loads and then i get an erroe msg as follows:
    Flash ROM is write protected
Please make sure whether lockout jumpers is set to
    correct or not
    Warning: program chip fail
PS-> i CAN'T access BIOS menu by pressin DEL like before.. all i get is the BootBlock v1.0 screen.

  • Overclocking Help .... MSI Z87 G45 with i5 4670k

Hi guys first of all i want to say MSI ROCKS!!!!!....
Purchased my first ever MSI motherboard and very satisfied from it ..... the looks are killer and now i want to see if its killer in OC as well ....
    My specs are as follows:
    MSI Z87 G45  (bios version 1.7)
    Core i5 4670k
GSKILL Rip Jaws 8gb (4x2) 2133 mhz (but running at 1600)
    Sapphire R9 290 TRI-X OC 4GB
    Corsair GS800 800 watts psu....
Now my goal is to get safest OC around 4.2 - 4.4 ghz with minimal voltage and fully stable ..... its my first time with K series processor and there are just so many settings in the BIOS .... I know how to change the multiplier and CPU voltage and i tried doing 4.4 ghz @ 1.15 but it wasn't stable in AIDA64 stress test .... so help me oh the mighty overclockers :D .... Screenshots of bios settings would be highly appreciated ....

Using Cooler Master Hyper 212+ with it with dual fans .... I did some overclocking on my own today (saw some OC screeshots of bios of Z87 G45 by some people) ...... 4.3 GHZ @ 1.15 voltage (but CPU-Z and AIDA 64 both showing 1.224) ...... Did 2 hours testing of Aida-64 stability and maximum temp i reached was 69c on one core and 65c TJ .... I couldn't boot into windows on the same settings @ 4.4 ghz ..... here are the screenshots of my OC profile .....
still my aim is to get maximum safest OC with lowest possible voltage ...

  • How far do the MSI z87-G41's OC capabilities extend?

First off; hi! I'm new here, but not to forums or PC hardware. I'm active over at anandtech and THG, and some gaming forums.
My question relates to my brand new MSI z87-G41 PC Mate. I'm a bit new to overclocking but not without a clue, however I just can not get the motherboard to let me change any voltage or multiplier settings.
    Main Board: MSI z87-G41
Bios Version: Don't know. One that came in the box.
    Video Card: PNY GTX 770@1332Mhz
    PSU:   Rosewill HIVE 550w. (38A, 456w)
    CPU: i5 4670k
    Memory: OEM 8GB (4x2GB) 1333Mhz 9CAS
    SSD/ HDD: OEM Seagate 1.5TB 7200rpm. 4 years old
    CPU COOLER: NZXT respire T40
Any Additional hardware plugged into your system: NAXT sentry 2 fan controller, OEM DVD burner, netgear w900 USB wi-fi stick
    OC: Attempting
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
I am trying to increase the voltage just a tad as I am game stable at 4.2Ghz but not p95 or F@H stable. (stock 1.12v) I have a good cooler and voltage is low so I am looking to push to ~4.4-4.6Ghz. I'd been adjusting with the Intel Tuning Utility to get it to 4.2, but it doesn't change voltage.
    TIA
EDIT: Oh. Looks like this belongs in overclocking. :|
EDIT2: Well don't I look stupid. I needed to use numpad +/- and not the ones near the 0 and backspace.  Nevermind then!

I tried multiple version of CCC, including old one and the new beta one, not one of them is working.
The card does show in the device manager but in a strange way : it is called in safe mod "Standard VGA" but if you follow those instructions :

    Hello Mr. Sil3nt,
Thank you for your post. It is best to get your drivers from the hardware manufacturer, have you tried going to www.... ? You will need to know the make/model of your card in order to get the appropriate driver for your device. To do this, try the following:
Click 'Start' > Right-click 'Computer' > Select 'Manage'
    Click 'Device Manager'
In the right pane, expand 'Display Adapters'
Below, you should see your video card, it may say 'Standard VGA'
Right-click this device and select 'Properties'
Select the 'Details' tab and scroll the bar to 'Hardware ID's'
You can then copy this info and put it into a web search that should yield results for your video card type.
From there, you can go to nvidia's website and download/install the latest driver for your card and operating system. Please let us know if this did or didn't help to resolve your problem.
    Cheers
    You find :
