Flashed both BIOS chips or just one? If you flashed only the A chip, power down, manually switch to the other BIOS chip and test. Code 00 in the AMI code chart reads it is for future use or something like that.
No, you don't have to flash an in between version, you can always go to the very newest and skip earlier ones.

  • MSI Z87-GD65 GAMING DISABLED CORE RATIO LIMIT

i am using MSI Z87-GD65 GAMING board with intel core i7-4770K
it should allow me to adjust turbo ratio/core ratio limit in the bios @ cpu features menu. already update to V1.2 bios.
unfortunately that menu is set to read-only "Auto". it makes me looks like using 4770 NON-K CPU!

hahaha. no need to use exclamation mark, bro.
ok done. it is because i am confuse with some value with [Auto] and some with Auto without []
for the information, i only managed to get 44x for the 1-core ratio. if more than that, it will go to bluescreen when booting.
any idea how to solve that problem? like asus motherboard, it has PLL overvoltage to overcome ratio more than 45/46.
how about MSI? its my 1st time using MSI motherboard for the i7 family.

  • MSI Z87 GD65 GAMING Doesn't recognize crossfire. Help Pls.

Hello everyone, I've had several board msi brand, such as B3 P68 GD65, GD65 G3 Z68, Z68 GD80 G3, last week bought a Z87 GD65 gaming, but I can not activate the second video card, installed the  amd 13.9 drivers with just one card ,rebooted and installed the second does not recognize the second card. I tested amd drivers 13.10v2 and does not work, I tested with the older  amd drivers 13.4 official and does not recognize the second card.
Tested one by one each both graphical works fine.
I have the crossfire bridge connected.
I must change something in the bios? To recognize the second card? what ?
Never happened to me on msi boards such things and i haved always crossfire.

    Hi everybody,
I tested one at a time in the pci-e 2 and works.
And do the same on Pci-e nº1. works fine the 2 card.
"Several possibles. If testing a card by itself in the second slot does not work, then either there is a problem with an errant standoff or other item shorting underneath the mainboard. The other most common reason is CPU socket pin(s) bent or damaged or the CPU cooler mouinted incorrectly or unevenly torqued.
I don´t  believe it the pins because if you look at the GPU-Z recognizes the two cards.
And appears on device manager the to cards.
I am using SO w7 ultimate, and the board bios is the last version.
Is something else must be some setting in bios, and i don´t no...

  • Flashing of MSI Z87-GD65 GAMING failed and dual bios not helping, not sure why?

    Hi all
For the first time in 20 years Ive had a firmware flash fail it seems.
I have a MSI Z87-GD65 GAMING and updated the bios with the latest firmware via the "M-FLASH" utility within the systems bios.
All seemed to have gone well, it flashed to 100% rebooted and then just a blank screen and a sequence of keyboard light flashes.
After a minutes panic I thought not to worry, the motherboard has a dual bios.   So I powered down and switched the bios switch to bios B hoping it would assist and the problem is identical.
    Any tips anyone?

I just tried this along with removing power from the main board and it seems one of the two did it!   thanks

  • MSI z87 G43 OC GENIE ISSUE/Bios UPDATE

Hi Everyone, This is my First time posting to the forums.
Here Are my System Specs Before I post the question
    Motherboard: msi z87 g43
CPU: intel core i7 4770k (haswell)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Ram ddr3 clocked at 1333mhz, 16gb, using 4 4gb sticks.
    GPU: evga gtx 770 nvidia
PSU: Bronze certified psu at around 850 watt.
CPU COOLER: is a standard corsair single radiator water cooler
    QUESTION/PROBLEM:
Ive had this computer built for about a year (basically right when the gtx 770 released). I have no problems with the device and it works perfectly. The motherboard however is where my problems starts to arise. I tried my hand at overclocking but ended up with a blue screen after some stress testing and just set my values back to default. But since then I really havent tried anything new with it. However, I noticed OC genie and I thought hey maybe Ill try this out for a chance. So I boot up and go into the bios set up (all values are default) and press the oc genie. As soon as the screen flashed back up I get a black screen and can not post. The only way to actaully fix this is to reset my CMOS which luckily I know how to do. But the black screen displayed also had a number letter combo at the bottom. It displayed 9C at the bottom in white. But when I get a successfull boot into the bios right beofre the bios logo I get a black screen with A2. But the A2 appears in every boot. Now heres where things get funky. I have a logitech Camera I use primarily for skype. When I have the device plugged in before the computer is booted. When I try to boot I get the black screen with the 9C, but when I unplug and reboot, I get the A2 and I get into my OS.
Now I tried overclocking again at 46 multiplyer with a 1.2v but When I did I get text saying its not successfull and resets my bios info, (which is cool considering oc genie didnt do this it just corrupts my CMOS).
So you must all be asking what version of the bios I have and the answer is 1.0....
Now I know there is a 1.9 and even a 1.A version which came out this year in 2014
The problem with this however is I know the dangers of flashing my bios and it can really screw up my mobo as in brick the darn thing. But from what I read, Live update form msi does not work and I shouldnt use it. But Is flashing the bios via the bios set up where there is a section specifically for flashing safe to do? With the oc genie not working im scared to try flashing my bios via the bios setup if that makes any sense
To wrap it up, is it a problem with my mobo, do I need to update my bios to fix it? If yes then what is the safest way of doing it since ive never done a bios update before (but i get the concept put the up date on a FAT 32 load it from it in the bios set up option let it do its thing and boom ) .

The method above does NOT apply to your board. Either use MFlash (bios + ME option) or use the below:
    >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<
A.) Download the attached archive (E7816IMS_1A0.rar.rar) and place it on your desktop. Do not decompress.
B.) Download and install the Forum flash tool.
C.) Insert your FAT32 formatted usb stick.
D.) Make sure that all win 8 options are disabled. (Fast Boot etc) Also make sure the legacy USB is enabled.
E.) Start the forum flash tool and select option 1. Then point the tool at the compressed archive we downloaded earlier. Then to your USB Flash Drive.
         F.) Boot to the USB
G.) Now follow the directions and let the tool flash
H.) After flashing reinstall ME drivers in Windows:  http://download.msi.com/dvr_exe/intel_amt90_mb.zip

  • MSI Z87 MPOWER Not displaying through Videocard

I cant seem to get my motherboard to recognize and display through my graphics card. I have a MSI N770 Lightning GeForce GTX 770 which light up and seems to be getting enough power but never displays anything to the monitor. I have tried the card in a friends desktop and it ran just fine which leads me to think its the board causing the issue. My Specs are as follows.
PSU: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W
    Mobo: MSI Z87 MPOWER
CPU:  Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell 3.5GHz LGA 1150
    RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3
    OS: Windows 8 Pro 64-bit
    SSD: OCZ Vertex 4 VTX4-25SAT3-128G
HD: Western Digital WD Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM
    CASE: Corsair Vengeance Series C70
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have already tried switching out the PSU with a more powerful unit (850w) to no avail. Everything runs fine though while running my friends GeForce GTX 560 Ti .

I don't believe any pins where bent during socketing, and I really don't want to mess with that unless I absolutely have to. It runs perfectly fine with my friends older card. I just installed a higher wattage power supply (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139034. Re-installed the card and attempted to boot up, which sadly it failed to to post and showing d6 on the mobo with the new card installed and hooked up correctly.
Could there be a compatibility error between the card and the board? Like I said the card ran well in my friends rig (comparable to mine just using a different mobo), The machine runs fine with the older (http://us.msi.com/product/vga/N560GTX-Ti-Twin-Frozr-II-OC.html card installed. But Never displays anything or gives signal to the monitor.

    You have 3 PCI-E x16 slots (x8-x4-x4) and 4 PCI-E x1 slots.
On the other hand, your CPU is limited to 16 PCI-E lanes.
Those 3 x RB44Ge routers are PCI-E x4, so you're going to use ALL the PCI-E x16 slots for them.
With the remaining PCI-E lanes you need to be lucky ...

  • MSI z87 g45 Boot up issues

So I built a computer for my sister and her husband and it has been having some boot up issues,Here are the computer parts:
    wiindows 7 64bit

    INTEL CORE I-7 4770K 3.5GHZ
    RADEON HD 5700 GPU

kINGSTON 64 GB SSD ( spare part, not sure the numbers)

    ASUS Black 12X BD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM SATA Internal Blu-ray Drive Model BC-12B1ST/BLK/B/AS
I've cleared both the HDD and SSD and now I'm looking to check the msi z87 g45 mobo, The computer starts up and sits on a2 for a while and then sometimes it fails to detect the SSD and says a0 and then I have to go back into the bios after I reset the computer again and maybe it detected the SSD and I can set it to boot from that again because it constantly changes the boot order, and sometimes it gives a blue screen when nearly into windows and then restarts, I had transferred some data from their old computer to this one and the data had virus's in it and I didnt know so I eventually found out and a day later and got rid of them all and the computer started behaving better but not fixed, faster mainly, I don't know if the virus may have altered some files so, I have a few more things to try, any help would be appreciated.
(Something I forgot to mention is that when I unplugg the HDD all the issues go away, the computer seems to work fine, But there are no issues with the hdd, ive tested it with seatools and I plugged it into my computer and restarted mant times as well as used my computer for a while and nothing, the HDD is fine, the start up on their computer sits on a2 for a long time when it isnt going to work and it only happens with the 2tb seagate HDD plugged in)

which storage drive holds the boot files the SSD or the HDD? the ATA mode of the BIOS needs to remain in the same mode it was when Windows was deployed to the storage drive. next the only way a BIOS settings will change with out user input is if the Li cell battery is going dead/the BIOS is getting reset frequently. sounds like you're about at square one, I'd format the Seagate 2TB HDD, install windows onto that either in RAID or AHCI mode whichever your preference, you can use the 64GB SSD as caching later if you use RAID mode, if AHCI the 64GB could be spare. I don't understand the SSD as boot drive method, it doesn't make sense the solid state storage is volatile meaning it degrades over time, the HDD isn't and the performance gain isn't going to change the way you use your PC. AHCI has it's advantages it's up to you. Following those steps is the only way you're going to keep the computer booting on a regular basis. You shouldn't need to manually configure which storage drive to initialize/boot from first, the BIOS automatically goes through your devices to find boot files then boots from the first one with boot files, it won't even try to boot from a device without boot files, because it can't. Just to reiterate the BSOD you speak of sounds similar to the ATA mode changing to something other than what it was when Windows was deployed to the device.

  • MSI Z87 G45

hi, just recently i've bought this board, my USB keyboard not working on the POST there, but in the windows its okay. i tot it would be the bios usb legacy enable/disable. i use the other keyboard and went to enable the usb legacy, but still the previous usb keyboard still not working by the POST time. i just dont want to switch to other keyboard when i wanted to go to the bios.
    Any idea what's happening?

    "lifting this topic up" !!
    First of all my specs;
    Intel Core i7-4770K  3.5GHz

MSI GeForce GTX 760 Gaming 2GB
    2x Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 4GB CL9
    1000w PSU
    sata 3 500gb HDD
I recently bought 2 of theese MB:s, one for my computer and also i build a computer for my GF..
im struggling ALOT with my keyboard sometimes not working neither from startup or in windows..
i have been updating BIOS to the latest, and while doin that i noticed in the info that there was some USB issues that had been "corrected".
Well apperently this issue i have is a pain and it wont give in.. i have been tryin 3 other keyboards and at the point its not working, no keyboard is working, EXCEPT, for the one i use for GF computer, wich is a wireless Logitech k850 something keyboard, That one works like a charm, but none of my wired ones..
Strange thing tho, is when it is working, i tapped into BIOS to check if there was some USB setting to change or smth, but nothing.. tho i noticed it said i had 2 keyboards installed o.O, 2 ?! no i only have 1..
    Why does it say 2?
One more thing just, while keyboard aint working, my Bluetooth stick works, USB memory works, Mouse works, and External usb3 disc works..
Yet it says  this in the USB setting  that i have 7 of 8 unused ports, and 1 port with unknown device..
anyone know the solution to this? :3
Please write a line or two so i can fix this!

    I also have a MSI Z87 G45 motherboard.
I tried 1 working RAM module in all 4 sockets while testing and my memory only works in the 2 sockets closest to the CPU. I get no display when putting RAM in the other sockets.
    I have 4x4GB DDR3-2400 modules, Kingston HyperX Anniversary  (KHX24C11X3K4/16X).
I also tried the flash the BIOS to the latest but no improvements.
I got older Kingston HyperX (DDR3-1866) that do work in the other sockets.
Do I need to configure my BIOS first before inserting the RAM in those sockets?

Can  someone please tell me if there's a compatibility issue with my components or what can cause the issues that i get from time to time (not allways). I've recently upgraded my system, actually i rebuilt it from scratch about 4 months ago and a few days after i put it together start noticing some "issues" like BOSD, many system freezes, my ram wasn't allways fully displayed (4gb out of 8) usually a restart would fix this one, when rebooting system sometimes i get D5 in the right corner of the screen and on mobo and just stops right there (this was also got fixed with 1 restart. At this point i'm assuming that either my mobo or my ram sticks. Any advice? These are my computer specs:
