Without asking me , MSN games set up Firefox new tabs to open up in their bing search page . How do I get rid of it ?

When the initial page is closed and new tab is opened. How can I get back my google dropdown with previous searches.

When I double click my desktop icon Mozilla Firefox. It comes back with Firefox Start screen with google search. When you go to the rightside of the text box and left click. Its gives you a dropdown window with previous searches. When the google toolbar is on, if you click on a new search. It does give a google search text box, but the downdrop searches previously done is blank or no entry on the dropdown. Before once you click the new google search, the dropdown window is populated with previous searches. Its important for me to see previous searches I did. I hope you can help me. The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13+ versions. Evidently something in that extension isn't compatible with a Firefox security fix. Disable that extension or un-install it.

The "+" to open a new tab has disappeared. How do I get it back?

The "+" that usually appears to the right of the tabs and opens a new tab has disappeared. Looked through the Q&As and couldn't find the answer.

From your System Details, it looks like user.js is currently active in Firefox. The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be there.
You can delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release. You can get to the profile folder below:

Do you have your new tab page back now?

if your manual changes don't 'stick' after a restart of the browser, please also look out for any suspicious extensions (like 3rd-party-toolbars or things you have not installed intentionally) presently installed under '''firefox/tools > addons > extensions''' or the programs section of the windows control panel and remove those entries.

Yahoo installed a Yahoo tab in my Firefox toolbar that I DO NOT want there- how do I get rid of it for good?

Yahoo took over my Firefox- help!
About two weeks ago for some unknown reason Yahool basically took over my Firefox. All of a sudden it was my preferred search engine, Yahoo! TAB shows up in my toolbar (can't remove it) and in general it's been doing some goofy things. I swear I didn't give out any permission for this, but I hate it and it's driving me crazy (actually temp swithched back to Explorer). Tried uninstall and reinstall, but it's still there. Read somewhere that Yahoo hides it's files in hard to figure out places so it can't be deleted. Can anybody help me figure out how to get rid of Yahoo? (ESPECIALLY THE TOOLBAR TAB AT THE TOP) Many thanks!

Hi, I set my page to include in the navigation, but not to be hyperlinked. But when I roll over it with the mouse, a hand appears like it is a clickable link. I don't want the hand to appear, does anyone know how to get rid of it?

In Modified Preferences I have a URL that keeps coming up as a search engine. I have deinstalled it and removed it from the Tabs and History. How can i get rid of this?

I accessed this site then decided it was not what I needed.
I De-installed it by going to my control panel and removing it.
I restarted my PC and it comes up as my home page. I deleted it from my History and recently visited sites. restarted my PC and it still comes up as the primary search engine as the opening page.

I was trying to set up my home page using my web settings. That did not work.

Sounds like you have stored files in iCloud or shared them with your iPad which has updated the files to the later Pages 5 versions.
Pages 5 only runs in OSX 10.9 Mavericks, and is a much cut down version.

To make Pages 5 files openable in Pages '09 you need to export them but they will have been altered, in some cases damaged. Better to revert to older copies.
