MSN Home Page Changed or Changing.

I like the new page. Clean, bright, uncluttered, more customisable & more of a centralized hub* both due to the items (links) across the top and the items (links) w/in the sections.
* increased ease of navigation
And, actually, I am not looking @ more advertising than I was on the old page. Matter of fact, all I have is a wee square @ the top-right offering me to try OneDrive which, I, already, have & use. Oh, & one in the middle about Skype which,
I, also, already, have & use. I guess those can be called advertising but, other than them, nothing, no other ads on the page. Nothing but, a couple of MS products, taking up no more space than previously.

I hate it.
I used to go to my homepage and did not have to do anything to see what I look at the most. Quick glance at headline news, Weather and then all my stock quotes.
Had it setup in 3 columns and could see everything important to me.
Now I have to scroll down to see much. And even go to another page to see my full stock list and 3 day weather forecast.
Now I can see all this like before with no scrolling or clicking on another page, But I have to use Yahoo as my homepage.
Reminds me of the problems they had with Win 8. And takes them so long to correct their mistakes. At least Win 10 just around the corner.
How long before they give back the MSN normal home page.

Safari won't hold Home Page change

I change the homepage to Google, it stays maybe 2-3 times in future sign-ons, then reverts back to apple start page default. Why will Safari not hold a home page selection??

Thanks, Yes, I have run all the software updates, including the latest 10.5.2. I do not have any other browser other than Safari as a default. It will only hold my home page change for 2 or 3 logon's then reverts back to apple.com default page.
It does not do this with my wife's Macbook, just my Macbook Pro.

Hi Vicki, you also mentioned your home page changing. If Yahoo is your home page, this is normal as they keep updating things.
In some cases, if your home page is a specific server address instead of a more general address like
* http://www.yahoo.com/
* http://my.yahoo.com/
* http://mail.yahoo.com/
then Yahoo will need to redirect your browser to a different server.
Users have reported on this forum that this can lead to email problems like broken features as well as display glitches.
To make sure you get the server that Yahoo intends for you, please go to one of the above Yahoo addresses and follow the link to your email. Hopefully this will resolve any problem with the redirection and you can save the new address in place of the old one (home page, bookmark, etc.).
Also, when you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site. If Yahoo support did not already recommend this, here are the steps:
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

My [http://my.msn.com/ MSN] home page has unresponsive links and the traffic report map will not load. It works on Safari and Chrome. I have asked this question here and on live chat with no resolution.

How much memory on your MBP?
Also, are you using external drives for your media? You could get a huge traffic jam if you have your OSX, your apps, and your video Events all on the same drive.

I upgraded to firefox 4.0 and now my msn home page won't let me see my hotmail account

Usually on my msn home page I can see stocks and my hotmail account. After upgrading the place is there but it won't show whether I have new emails or not and doesn't show current stock prices.

Since updating to Firefox 4, my MSN home page no longer displays hotmail emails or my stock informtion. I have to click on hotmail or stocks to open another window to see if I have email or updated stock values. Why is this happening?

I recently updated to Firefox 4. Now my Norton password protection does not work; My hotmail view on my MSN home page does not work; and my stock updates to not work. I have to click on "hotmail" to see if I have new e-mails and click on "stock quotes" to see updated stock values. I was able to fix the issue here. Steps Taken: From the comand line I ran
dscl /Search read /Users/jdoe HomeDirectory
It returned # No such key: HomeDirectory
This was the big clue.... it should have returned
HomeDirectory: <home_dir><url>afp://files.hihllc.lan/Users/jdoe</url><path>/</path></home_dir>
I unbound the Mac from AD and ran the following command in terminal.
dscacheutil -flushcache
I then went into OS X sharing preferences and renamed the computer slightly, so it would create a new computer record in AD. I rebound the machine to AD making sure in Directory Utility Advanced, under User Experience that Force local home directory on start up disk was unchecked and Network protocol to be used was AFP.
I then ran
dscl /Search read /Users/jdoe HomeDirectory
and it returned
HomeDirectory: <home_dir><url>afp://files.hihllc.lan/Users/jdoe</url><path>/</path></home_dir>
I had the user reboot... which was necessary. When he logged in HomeSync fired up. He had quite a few conflicts, so I told him to select use files on this computer for all conflicts.
I checked the FileSyncAgent.logs and it was good.

The problem may be caused by the old version of Firefox which you're running. So I recommend you go to '''Help '''| '''Check For Updates''' to update to v3.6.16
If you would like to update further to Firefox 4.0, repeat the same steps after installing v3.6.16

Old, PowerPC apps like Office 2004 will never work in Lion. You'll have to upgrade Office to 2008 or 2011 or use a substitute like OpenOffice, NeoOffice, LibreOffice, or as you mentioned, iWork.

User profile and home page changed and Firefox hijacked by IE

I use Firefox with XP os with Kaspersky os. When I turned on computer it went through changing user profile.
Home page is changed to MSN-IE becomes the browser and all my files are gone. Computer hijacked. This is the second computer this has happened to.

Yahoo Home page - change to original from optimized format.

With the recent upgrade to 17.01 my Yahoo Home page has changed to the "yahoo optimized?" format. It is so awful, that I am considering changing default browsers!! How do I get rid of it and just use the standard Yahoo format? I clear the cache upon closing and cookies. I suppose I could also clear the flash cookies (have the Yahoo one not being deleted - most others are also cleared upon closing.) Any suggestions?

To clear cache and cookies do the following:

MSN (home page) redirects to the wrong country and language

I have a strange problem. I went to Mexico for vacation. While I was there, every time I open my IE, it would redirect me to the Mexican MSN. I assumed, this is normal for MSN redirects to the local (country and language) page. It redirected me to
http://prodigy.msn.com/es-mx/?ocid=iehp page.
Now, I am back home to US. For some reason, MSN is still Mexican. I have an option to change it when I click on the Options in the right top corner of the MSN page, but it does not remember this setting when I close and open my IE.
My Language and Country in Control Panel are correct. Home page in IE did not change and it is
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=255141 If I go to this link directly, it takes me to the US MSN page.
Not sure what else to check. Anyone can help me with this?

So, this sounds like more of an MSN issue than an IE one. But perhaps you should try clearing Cookies at least for that site. You can do that with the Developer Tools, Network tab. (F12, Ctrl-4) Clear Cookies for this domain is the button
that looks like a cookie with a bite out of it. Unfortunately there is no keyboard shortcut for that option.

My MSN home page has problems

I just installed Firefox 4.0 and now my home page (my MSN) doesn't work properly. Several of the boxes have no content and none of the menu buttons work. Also, the Customize and Add Content buttons no longer work.
Can this be fixed?
If not, how do I revert to version 3.6 again?

My Hotmail homepage doesn't update mail, stocks, etc..after installing Firefox 4.0. There have been many similar questions. When will there be a response??
