MSN homepage will not open
I use MSN as my homepage. Starting last night when I click the home button for MSN to open, it says "the page you have requested cannot be found". I opened firefox, which i never use and it works on there. Not sure what to do. Brent

Yes, actually a good thing to do with any new browser update is to reset the browser and clear the cache. Not sure why cookies worked. You probably only needed to delete those cookies with an MSN in them.

My safari will not open the msn.com site but it will open the other msn websites like "entertainment" and " sports". What to do?
There have been a few users talking about this for the past few days. I have no problems at all with it using Safari or iCab Mobile. This sequence has worked for most of the user that have tried it however, YMMV.
Try this.
Quit the Safari app completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
And do this as well. Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Clearing history is not a necessity, but clear cookies and data. -
Just updated Firefox. Now I cannot open msn emails. Email titles appear as normal but will not open.
Hello ebarrow
If there is an issue with update or permissions the better, quickest and safest way is to download and install firefox:
1. Download with your safari a copy of the latest firefox from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
2. '''''Trash''''' the current Firefox application to do a clean install.
3. Install the version that you have downloaded.
Do not select to remove your personal data, your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks or other personal data.

Safari will not open MSN or Hotmail
For some reason Safari will not open Hotmail or MSN, any ideas?
the fix you mention was on the apple support site, but it seems to be a temporary fix.
it really ***** that to get into hotmail you have to do so much.
i did find another work around when you get into that "login loop." offhand, i forget the screen, but there is a link that says something like "account information." click on that and enter your password. you get another screen to change your user preferences. then click on your hotmail link. hotmail should open up (albeit in the older version). this works for a while, but then eventually you have to go through the process again. -
Firefox will not open page from a link in an email since updating windows messenger
i use microsoft outlook for email which requires Windows Messenger to make connection with my MSN account. I was forced to update Messenger. Since updating links in emails to web sites will only open my firefox homepage, and will not open the page the link is for
Anyone? I'd really like to stay with Firefox, but this problem is annoying....

I have a MacBook Pro with OS X Yosemit. MY safari will not open, it only comes up with a safari quit unexpectedly report. A new helper app appeared requesting my system password to download the helper. Stupidly I input the password, when I log off I can see the download icon for a split second still running asking to abort or continue. How do I sort this?
cheersGenieo Adware is installed. Removing it will help.
If you have another browser installed, use it.
If not, launch App store and get another browser for temporary use.
Remove it afterwards.
1. Use free AdwareMedic by clicking “Download ” from here
http://www.adwaremedic.com/index.php
Install , open, and run it by clicking “Scan for Adware” button to remove adware.
Once done, quit AdwareMedic by clicking AdwareMedic in the menu bar and selecting
“Quit AdwareMedic”.
or
Remove the adware manually by following the “HowTo” from Apple.

I have a few domain computers that cannot open any webpages, 90% will not open. MSN CBS ABC NBC none of these pages will open. nothing loads on the page, it says connecting to.. If I click work offline, the page will load minus and video or pictures. just a format and wording appears.
I have cleaned cookies, reset to default, safe mode, rebooted, checked the firewall, checked the domain controller, re-installed, turned off IP V6, I followed every troubleshooting guide i can find. i check the network settings, check proxy, checked DNS, If i click help and try to get an update from Firefox, it just sits there at like 2.5 KB and says downloading forever.
The pages will set there and spin for hours. no error, no timeout.. just says connecting to ....(which ever page).Hello, any luck in [http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true windows safe mode] ?

Top part of MSN homepage is not displaying. Works in Chrome.
Today, for the first time, the top of the MSN homepage is not displaying. It cuts off just below the top of the 9 scrolling windows. Thought it may be an MSN problem, so I opened up MSN in Chrome and works fine. Cleared cache and still not working. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
You can try basic steps like these in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Error message after install-now iPhoto will not open
After installing iPhoto, a message asks to upgrade the library. Soon, a message says
There is a problem in your iPhoto library folder. In the finder, select the iPhoto Library Folder. Then choose file > Get Info. Make sure you have Read & Write permissions for the folder and then apply this setting to all the enclosed items.
All you can do is quit after this message
Easy prompts, that I have followed, and now I do have read and write permissions selected, without any change. Iphoto sill will not open.Metal Ox
Whats most likely happened is that permissions on one or more of the pics have become screwed up. Try the following:
Download BatchMod from
http://www.macchampion.com/arbysoft/
and copy the settings shown here:
http://homepage.mac.com/toad.hall/.Pictures/Forum/BatChmod.png
inserting your acount name as needed.
(Credit to Mr Old Toad for that one).

My downloaded apps will not open. I can open apps that came loaded from the factory, but when I attempt to open a downloaded app, the screen momentarily goes black and then returns to the homepage/wallpapered screen.
I've tried powering off, etc.
How do I resolve this issue? If all user-installed apps are not launching, it could be an Apple ID authorization issue. Download and install an app that isn't already installed on your device to reset this information.
Note: If you have installed apps using multiple Apple ID accounts, you may need to perform this step for each account.

My preferences will not open from the apple menu.
My preferences will not open from the apple menu. Time machine will not open either. I've tried reinstalling Lion, to no avail. Has anyone else had this problem?
I have exactly the same issue. After FF upgraded on its own to version 5, it won't open from start menu, taskbar, desktop icon, or even by pressing firefox.exe in program files directory. It does so by pressing a link at msn messenger, inside Outlook etc.
Disabling all addons, didn't help. Moreover, I can't start FF in safe mode or start profile manager (Start > Run> firefox.exe -ProfileManager).
