MSN/Hotmail accounts won't attach XML files

I have included a SUBMIT BY EMAIL button on a form. MSN & Hotmail account users have reported that they cannot attach and send the .xml file. When they cut/paste the xml info into the body text, I save in Word as an xml file. Then I use the Import Data function in Acrobat 8.0 and nothing populates and I get no error messages. Help! Thank you.

I've been experiencing the same problem with Safari for 6 months, including the latest v 3.0.4.
I cannot attach a file to a web based email (I use yahoo email)
I did not used to have any trouble, and I do not have any problem if I switch to Firefox.
I read the suggested support articles, but manually creating an archive file each time is ridiculous, and there is no url or a place to put it for a file in my computer.
I'm surprised more people haven't had this problem, I wonder what the issue is that effects so few of us.

  • Submit Form as XML / Rename attached XML file

    Hello,
I am using the followig script to submit a form:
    var Mailto = "[email protected]";
    var mySubject = "This is the subject";
    var myMessage  = "Please find attached my file.";
    var Mail = "mailto:" + Mailto + "?Subject=" + mySubject + "&Body=" + myMessage;
    event.target.submitForm({
    cURL: Mail,
    bEmpty: true,
    cSubmitAs: "XML"
Unfortunately I cannot change the name of the attached XML file. It is automatically the PDF filename.
Has anybody an idea how to change the attachement name?
    Many thanks.
    Regards,
    ra_be

The attachment filename will always be the name of the PDF. The only way to change is to save the PDF under a different name before you email it.

  • My hotmail account won't work anymore...

    Question
my hotmail account won't work anymore, it comes up but when I try to do an action (delete a message) it won't do anything, I've restarted the webpage and updated firefox but it keeps doing the same thing, this was not happening a few days ago

Well, Hotmail no longer works with Firefox on my desktop. Strangely enough when I use my iPad to access hotmail I have the same problem if I set the browser to emulate firefox. I have not tried the firefox app for mobile yet. When my iPad is set to appear as mobile (generic) then firefox works.
Others at work have all had the same problem (and with Chrome but that is not something I want to use anyway). Some have switched to Opera as a temp solution.
Two said whern they disabled silverlight, firefox worked fine. I tried that and it did not. (I have had problems with Silverlight with firefox 10 & 11) I have tried disabling all extensions and plugins and adding one back at a time and so far no luck. My Google account works OK. Any suggestions not only welcome but might be life-savers.

  • Setup mail account for MSN hotmail account - HELP!!

How do i set up my msn hotmail account for use in mail??
Can anyone help with the ingoing/outgoing server?
    Please and thankss!!!!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
I merely know the tool capable of connection Hotmail to Mac OS X's Mail program:
    httpmail
Hopefully that page will give you enough to get started. It is much easier to setup an IMAP, POP, or Exchange Mail account. If you can get one of those in place of Hotmail, and have your Hotmail mail automatically forwarded to such an account, you'd have a much easier time.

  • MSN Hotmail Account

Can someone please tell me the configurations I need to enter to setup my MSN Hotmail account on my iPhone.
Or, I would actually like this better: can someone help me set-up "Get mail from other accounts" on my gmail, because I have no problem setting up other gmail and yahoo accounts to forward to my main gmail, but every time I try to do my msn one, a message comes up that says
Anyone else having problems with forwarding their MSN accounts?
    Thanks in advance!
    -thealexness

I had the same problem, seems Hotmail is on to us iphone users and changed the protocol for forwarding. I understand from a business standpoint why they did it, but it still BLOWS!
Most of us Hotmail users still want to use our Hotmail account, just have forward messages to Gmail as well. The option to keep a copy in Hotmail inbox is available, so it's not like we are totally abandoning them. I have never considered swithching from Hotmail completely, but find myself in the process anyway.
Hope they make some changes soon

  • Hotmail Account Won't Set Up On New Phone

I posted this the other day, but it seems to have gotten lost in all the other posts, so I am posting it again
    Hello all,
I am having an issue setting up my Hotmail account on a Curve 8530. A bit of backstory: I got my first BlackBerry in August 2010. I set up Gmail and Hotmail with no problem. The emails for both addresses came through great, no issues with pushing or delayed arrival. But the phone was defective and had to be replaced. When I received the new phone, I found that my service books had somehow been deleted in the process of switching from the old to new phone. I know that the service books stay on the BB server, and are not specific to the phone, so I had no idea how that happened. Verizon said that sometimes it does and you just have to set them up again. Ok, so this should not have been a problem, since they both worked perfectly on the original phone.
Well, I have been fighting with Verizon and Qwest for the past month and a half about this, each of them sending me to the other and no one helping at all. Basically, when I went through the process of setting up emails on the new phone, my Gmail took about two senconds, works just like before. But I can't for the life of me set up my Hotmail. The address is "Q.com" but goes through the Hotmail/Windows Live mail system. I enter the user name and password- the exact same information as I entered on the first phone- and it tells me that my email address and password are incorrect. I have tried entering the settings myself, and creating a BIS login to set up from the computer and NADA. Nothing works.
Please tell me someone knows how to fix this! This is my primary email address, and I don't want to have to forward it all through my junk email!
Thanks in advance for any help!

  • Safari won't load XML file - Flash

I know this is in the wrong forum, so if someone can move it, thanks!
The Safari section is down, error loading page.
    Here's my problem.
Got a website that is full flash, and some flash that is used on a html based page.
It's a counter, that counts down to a specific date. And these dates are stored in an xml file.
Safari has for some reason massive trouble loading the XML file, and therefore undefines the fields all the time. Occasionally it works, but more often than not it just says 'Undefined'. It works perfectly in IE, and in FF.
In Flash, the XML file is loaded, and its parsed correctly, the actionscript is spot on. So I can't figure the problem.
It's happening on Multiple mac's, and occasionally on Safari for Windows.

    Thanks in advance.

Safari on my computer doesn't seem to have a problem loading it. You may want to try resetting Safari. Go up to the Menu Bar and click on Safari. There's a choice in the drop down menu called "Reset Safari..." Click on it and select the choices you want to make, after that click ok.

  • Connection to MSN Hotmail Account is slow

I recently purchased an iMAC 20" 1Gb and have noticed that when trying to access my hotmail account it is very slow. Are there certain setting that I should be looking at to make this respond quicker?

That is unfortunate that your emails aren’t syncing. I have had this happen to my device before. It is pretty easy to resolve. First, I would delete the account by following these steps:
From the home screen, touch Mail
Display should be in existing email box, touch Menu
    Touch More
    Touch Settings
User will see below options: Delete Account
Then I would re-add the account by following these steps:
From the home screen, touch the Menu.
    Touch Al Apps
    Tap mail
    Select mail provider
Enter desired email address and password
    Tap Next
Device displays checking settings and displays "Your account is setup"
Give this account a name (optional)
Enter the desired Email address and Password then touch Next.
I am certain by following these instructions you will be able to have your emails syncing to your phone. Thanks.

  • Need help with Mail - Hotmail .. actual hotmail account won't delete

Hello, first post! I just purchased a mac last week. First one ever so i'm learning to use the programs and having some fun. I opened up the mail application and synced with my gmail account just fine. I then added a 2nd account which was my hotmail account. I'm not happy with how the hotmail account syncs with mac mail application. The problem arises when i try to delete the Hotmail account i added. I right clicked and selected "delete account" and it deleted all my email but the Hotmail inbox icon will not delete and i am still getting new emails into the inbox. I'm not sure if i explained this correctly so feel free to ask for clarification. Does anyone know how i can get rid of my hotmail account from my macbook mail application for good?

    Hello yz1234,

  • Exchange account won't send large file, switches servers

When I try to send a large file through my company's Exchange account, it fails - a window pops up and says
"Cannot send message using the server XXX (Exchange)
The Exchange connection to server XXXXXX failed."
then it gives me other servers to try, including the exchange one.
Mail.app also seems to be trying to switch the outgoing mail from my Exchange account to my personal (Gmail) account - the Outbox entry is for "On My Mac", not for my "Work" account.
Mind you, I received this file from my someone else at my company, so they could send it fine - it's not an Exchange size limit issue.  Other smaller mail I send on the Exchange account works fine.
    Any suggestions?

    Try this:
    1. Open System Preferences from the Apple menu.
    2. In Network, select Built-In Ethernet, select Advanced and then on the Ethernet tab, configure the following settings
    Configure: Manually
    MTU: Custom, 1492
    3. Then try to send an email message that contains an attachment.

Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.
