MSN/Hotmail Issues

I have had my Incredible 2 for almost 2 years now. I have recently, in the  past 6 months, have incurred issues with receiving my MSN email. I will get it for a couple weeks, then nothing. I don't change any of the settings, the email just stops coming through the phone. I have resorted to deleting/adding this account every few weeks to get my email.
Is anyone else experiencing this, is there a fix, or work around? I use this for my personal communication and would like to receive this email account on my phone. A customer service rep at my local store said this is a known issue, but there wasn't anything he could do about it, so I thought I'd come here to see if anyone else is having the same issue. It's frustrating! TIA!

I have had the same issue. Now you're talking about the HTC mail app, correct? If that is the case, I just bypassed it by going to the Play Store and downloaded the Hotmail app. Haven't had a problem since.
Hope this takes care of your problem.

  • Link not clickable in MSN/Hotmail emails

I have a page that sends users a link to click to be
    'removed' from our
registration page. In Yahoo the link shows up just fine, is
    clickable, etc.
In Hotmail/MSN, no go. I've seen some pages come across in

How is this done?? Or how can I get my link to be enabled in

  • MSN/Hotmail accounts won't attach XML files

I have included a SUBMIT BY EMAIL button on a form. MSN & Hotmail account users have reported that they cannot attach and send the .xml file. When they cut/paste the xml info into the body text, I save in Word as an xml file. Then I use the Import Data function in Acrobat 8.0 and nothing populates and I get no error messages. Help! Thank you.

I've been experiencing the same problem with Safari for 6 months, including the latest v 3.0.4.
I cannot attach a file to a web based email (I use yahoo email)
I did not used to have any trouble, and I do not have any problem if I switch to Firefox.
I read the suggested support articles, but manually creating an archive file each time is ridiculous, and there is no url or a place to put it for a file in my computer.
I'm surprised more people haven't had this problem, I wonder what the issue is that effects so few of us.

  • Problems signing into MSN Hotmail

I just recently started having problems signing into MSN Hotmail when using Safari. The strange thing is that I'm able to access it with Firefox and also with the built in mail program on the dashboard.  Just a few moments ago I wasn't even able to access the MSN.com webpage from Safari.
This seems very odd.  I had no problems up until a few days ago.
    Anyone else having these issues??

    Thank you for the suggestions.
It actually started working spontaneously for some reason.  I will try above steps should it happen again.
    thanks again,
    Eric

  • Getting MSN/hotmail WITHOUT http plugin?

I have been using the http plugin (Daniel Parnell, 1.49 version) for quite a few months now for my MSN email accounts. Everything was working fine until I started using my .mac sync function to backup up my mail stuff (accounts, rules, etc.) and then I started getting a lot of crashes in Mail and had to start my accounts again from scratch. I kept reloading all my accounts (mac, msn, gmail) and it would still crash. Finally, I loaded all but the MSN accounts (http plugin) and have done a couple syncs and haven't had any trouble since.
My question is has anyone had this same problem and is there an alternative way to get your MSN accounts on Mail?
I'm in the process of transerring those MSN accounts over to gmail but until then I'd like to get them on my Mail program.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    G4 Powerbook   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I haven't heard of anything else that allows MSN/Hotmail accounts to work with Mail..
It is likely that another alternative would rely on the same technology/design. You might post a bug report with the project admins on
    http://sourceforge.net/support/getsupport.php?group_id=74709
though the resolution of the issue may take some time.

  • I use MSN Hotmail for my email. Why do I no longer have the spell check option with Firefox. Do I need to download a dictionary? How do I do this?

When I have typed an email and press spell check it sayed that browser will check it for me. When I tested it the spelling mistake was left uncheck by MSN Hotmail and or Firefox. Which?
How do I get the spell check to work?
    Rgds
    Chris

Do you have a dictionary installed and selected?
    * You can see which dictionary is selected if you right-click in a text area and open the Languages submenu.
    * Open the "Add Dictionaries" link to install a dictionary if you do not have one.
    * Make sure that [X] "Check Spelling" in the right-click context menu is check-marked.
You can enable or disable spell checking globally:
    * Tools > Options > Advanced : General: Browsing: "Check my spelling as I type"
You can look here for dictionaries:
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/language-tools/

  • I am trying to log in to my MSN Hotmail e-mail account, and after entering my login info, I get the error message that Firefox cannot find the server. Why not?

When trying to log into my MSN Hotmail account (@msn.com), after I enter my credentials, Firefox gives me an error message that "Firefox can't find the server at blu152.mail.live.com". I am able to log in easily from the same computer using Internet Explorer. I think this problem just started yesterday. Why is Firefox unable to connect to my e-mail account?

  • Problem with MSN/Hotmail/MS Live/Passport

    Hi,
For some reason I can't access my hotmail account in Safari. It used to work fine, then suddenly stopped (no idea why). Have tried deleting cookies/cache/history etc... no luck.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hello, RedHavoc & Annette,
New developments when i attempted to sign in today this is how it worked.
Go to http://www.msn.com/ on that log in page just down from the log in box:
Windows Live ID click on what most best describes the account you have (for instance mine is Passport)
Works with Windows Live, MSN, and Microsoft Passport sites
Account Services | Privacy Statement | Terms of Use
    © 2006 Microsoft Corporation.
Click "Sign In" On upper right hand corner of the page, then your are take to:
Enter email address & password, click Sign in. Bring you to MSN Account Services Home
On Upper right hand side of the page click on : MSN Home | My MSN | Hotmail | Shopping | Money | People & Chat.</b<
When you get to that page you should be able to Pick "Messenger" if that is what you use, or to My MSN, Hotmail.
Hope this works, I also did not have to enable cookies to "All" for sign out either, which was a requirement for my passport account, prior with the use of Safari.
Please let me know if this works for you.
p.s. When I look at cookies it looks as if this method creates the live.com cookiesthat must be reguired to log in along with accountsservices.msn.com accountservices.passport.net, these are all cookies that are new , i know because I would look thru & delete them, ( which i still intend to do) so this must be a way of establishing new ids for users, I presume for "Windows Live".

  • Hotmail issues

I cannot sync email folders in the application for email. My gmail accounts sync without any issue.

    Hello,
To my knowledge, other than using a different email service, there are no workarounds to get an email service and BIS to function beyond the features in that KB. Further, you can expect extended delays for anything other than email delivery to your BB. The documented expected interval of receiving new emails on the BB is 15 minutes. All other reconciliations (including pushing Sent Items to the mailbox from the BB) operate at a lower priority both within BIS as well as (usually) at the email service provider. I've seen it take up to 24 hours for some of these other things to reconcile.
It sounds as if you've done all you can do...so I suggest waiting 24 hours to see if things reconcile in the manner documented. Further, if you search on these forums, you will find threads discussing issues and such...I have a vague recollection of some recent HotMail issues similar to what you describe, but I can't recall more specifically than that.
    Good luck!

    HI afirst,
Just in case [[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]], but before that you can clear the cache for a specific site in the about:permissions page.
Select Yahoo mail on this page and forget the site. This will remove cookies and active logins for mail. Please then restart Firefox and relogin to Yahoo mail.
If there are any other questions, happy to help.

The MSN people have been no help at all. I'm trying to get the .msn (hotmail) set up in the IPAD so I can see the "Folders", "E-mails" then the "Reading Pane" from >left to right< at the same time. All I get now is one e mail   ail per line on down the screen. No folders or reading pane. See the .JPG photo!
Have to tap the folders to fet them to open seperatly. If I log on to .MSN via the "PC", all looks fine but not on the IPAD...Thank you....Ken

Thanks Skydiver...Yes I have MSN (hotmail) on the IPAD's e-mail list along with Gmail Yahoo and so on.
It's basically useless since all my "folders" or on .MSN and you can't create any new folders in the IPAD's e mail system...........>REALLY< strange. I probably have 25 folders in .MSN.
Everything looks great on the PC on the MSN e-mail but not on the IPAD!!!

  • I don´t see the msn hotmail application, what can i do???

I erase from the dock the icon and i can´t find this application, thank you.

Which MSN Hotmail application are you referring to?
Do you mean Mail? or Safari? Both should be in the Applications folder on your hard disk.. Just drag it's icon back onto the Dock.
If you're talking about MSN Messenger, it should be wherever you installed it to.. If you have MS Office, try checking in the MS Office folder (probably under Applications). Or try using Spotlight to search for it.

  • Setup mail account for MSN hotmail account - HELP!!

How do i set up my msn hotmail account for use in mail??
Can anyone help with the ingoing/outgoing server?
    Please and thankss!!!!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
I merely know the tool capable of connection Hotmail to Mac OS X's Mail program:
    httpmail
Hopefully that page will give you enough to get started. It is much easier to setup an IMAP, POP, or Exchange Mail account. If you can get one of those in place of Hotmail, and have your Hotmail mail automatically forwarded to such an account, you'd have a much easier time.
