MSN & Hotmail junk mail folders

Hello,
Can anyone help me view my junk mail folders on my Ipad? I have set up 3 accounts, 2 msn.com and 1 hotmail.com and none of the display my junk mail folders.
Thanks for your help,
Dave

Thanks. The air app looks like it should work, but it locks up once it syncs. I am unable to look at any folder, the app locks up and all I can do is go home out of the app. I will look for another app. Any more ideas?

  • Mail App and Hotmail Junk Mail

    Hello,
I've been trying to find the quickest way to delete the junk mail from my hotmail junk mail. I tried selecting all and deleting and I'll get an error message that says it can't delete, then I tried to mark all as read first, and then deleting all and this didn't work. If I delete one by one it works, but takes too long since 100+ emails go to it almost daily. I right tapped on the folder and didn't see much there. I checked Mail preferences also. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated -- thank you

Hi Eric, I've been applying rules on a daily basis, and I'm still getting about 25-30 per day and a portion of these coming from the same offender. I've been following your instructions from your screen shot to a Tee and the emails still keep pouring in. One of the email addresses ([email protected]) keeps coming through and I've blocked and created rules for those daily as well as the others also. How do they do this? I see they have plenty of sneaky tricks up their sleeve - Is creating Rules the only solution, or is there something more effective to do about this? Whoever they are, they are many steps above us, and I can't figure it out. To do this every day is lots of extra work, but less work than deleting them one by one (also, I tried to delete by selecting ALL in one sweep, and this didn't work). I was wondering, what happens if I don't do anything and let them accumulate into the thousands and beyond, does it matter, and would this slow things down in the mail app? At least it goes in the junk mail folder and bulk mail folder instead of in my in box. Any other tips and suggestions you may have would be much appreciated!

  • I am trying to log in to my MSN Hotmail e-mail account, and after entering my login info, I get the error message that Firefox cannot find the server. Why not?

When trying to log into my MSN Hotmail account (@msn.com), after I enter my credentials, Firefox gives me an error message that "Firefox can't find the server at blu152.mail.live.com". I am able to log in easily from the same computer using Internet Explorer. I think this problem just started yesterday. Why is Firefox unable to connect to my e-mail account?

Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

  • Entering Mozilla FF msn hotmail E-mails will not load.

Entering Mozilla FF msn hotmail messages will not load,I go to (options) then more options, then to (active view settings) then (Do you want to see previews?) < I check (always show preview) < I check (Do you want interactive email?) < I check No, I then click ( Save) then go to inbox, and then it will load E-mails until I leave hotmail, when I return to hotmail it's same as before shows loading but will not open, then I have to do the same as before. I have /MSI CR500 laptop/ windows/ 7/ Mozilla FF 8.0.1

    HI afirst,
Just in case [[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]], but before that you can clear the cache for a specific site in the about:permissions page.
Select Yahoo mail on this page and forget the site. This will remove cookies and active logins for mail. Please then restart Firefox and relogin to Yahoo mail.
If there are any other questions, happy to help.

  • Trash, Sent mail, and Junk mail folders do not work

I just switched from my entourage email to mac's mail, and I noticed some problems that I cannot seem to figure out. I amm using IMAP based email, and had none of these problems on entourage, but I like the format of mail better, so i hope to get this resolved so I can keep using mail.
    1. Trash- When I delete an email it does not go to the trash folder like it did in entourage, but rather just disappears and I cannot find it anywhere. This is regardless of if I try and store it on the server or not. Either way, the deleted messages disappear.
    2. Sent mail- I may know why this is not working, at least I have heard a possible explanation. When I send an email, it will not go to the default sent-mail folder on my IMAP server, and so disappears unless I tell mail not to store them on the server (but there are obvious disadvantages to not having the mail stored on the server). I think this has to do with the fact that the sent mail folder on my IMAP client has to be set to sent-mail, while I hear Mail requires it to be just Sent.
    3. Junk mail- When I mark messages as junk mail, the program does not move them to the junk mail folder, neither in mail nor on the IMAP server.
Now I have gone through as many of the options I can find to try and resolve this, but I have it all set up the same way I did in entourage, and cannot figure out why it is not working. Does it have to do with the naming of the folders for my IMAP service? Those seem to be default and unable to change. My Trash is labeled "trash", Sent mail is labeled "sent-mail", and junk mail is labeled "Junk".
    I appreciate any help.

    1. When not stored on the server, the account's Trash mailbox should be located under the Trash icon in the mailboxes drawer if "Move deleted messages to the Trash mailbox" is selected under the Mailbox Behaviors tab for the account preferences.
If you have this selected, using the Finder go to Home > Library > Mail > Mailboxes. Within the Mailboxes folder should be a folder named
Deleted Messages (name of your IMAP account in parenthesis).mbox
Confirm the folder includes the .mbox extension.
    2. When you select "Store sent messages on the server", select your IMAP account's Sent mailbox under your IMAP account's icon in the mailboxes drawer which is sent-mail and at the menu bar, go to Mailbox > Use This Mailbox For and select Sent.

  • Junk Mail Folders in Mail 2.1.1

I'm using Mail 2.1 and have a Junk Mail tab in my Preferences pane. My boss is using 2.1.1 (on a 2 GHz Intel MacBook - 10.4.10) and has nothing but a Signature tab in his Mail Preferences. Where did the other tabs (fonts & colors, Junk Mail, General etc.) go? I'm trying to answer his technical questions and I'm stumped! Thanks for whatever help anyone can offer.

  • How can I download my hotmail junk mail and other folders?

I linked my account and i can only see inbox. Please help if possible, thanks!

Because you are accessing the account as a POP account, which is the nature of a POP account.
You can access the account as an Exchange account. All server stored mailboxes with the account will be available automatically when accessing the account with the iPod Touch Mail app along with all server stored mailboxes kept synchronized with the server.
None of this is available with a POP account.

  • Please help with junk mail folders/boxes on MacPro Yosemite 10.10.2

'I have 4 email accounts set up using the mail program on my Macbook Pro.  On the left panel of the mail program Under the heading 'MAILBOXES' it shows a tray for INBOX and then there is a tray/ for each of those 4 accounts.  When I click on each account I receive the emails designated for those accounts.  Then a little lower down the panel there is are titles for DRAFTS, SENT, JUNK, each of these titles also list the different email accounts under them.  If I scroll down a little further these things seem broken down even more and there are other main headings called 'ON MY MAC' with another JUNK folder and then Additional heading with JUNK folders for them!  All of those junk folders are empty.  The only junk folders that seem to get mail is the one under the 'MAILBOXES' heading.  (I hope this is making sense so far!! )  My problem for example...when I look at the JUNK folder for my gmail account there are alot of emails in there that shouldn't be.  However, there is no way to 'unmark' them as not JUNK.  When I go to use the little 'thumbs up' icon there is only a 'thunbs down' icon available. In other words the emails in this JUNK folder have not been marked as junk.  So here are my questions:
    1. Why are they being sent there?
    2. How can I stop them from being sent there (since the unmark as junk is not an option).
    3. Why are there so many junk boxes.
    4. What is the difference between the JUNK under the 'MAILBOXES' heading and the JUNK under the other heading that are empty?
As you can tell I am pretty clueless and there is probably an easy answer...thanks for your patience and sorry for the long issue.

If the window’s toolbar is hidden, either do View > Show Toolbar or click on the grey oblong button at the top right corner of the window.

  • Junk mail in mail

How do I access my Hotmail Junk Mail from the Mail in my mac Mini?

    Hi-
If you open the Preferences under Mail > Preferences in the menu and go to the Junk Mail tab, do you have it marked to "Move to the Junk mailbox (Automatic)" when junk mail arrives? You don't have to do the "training" option, which leaves the junk mail in your inbox. Just make sure if you set it on automatic that you mark mail as "junk" or "not junk" if it goes to the wrong box and the training will still take place.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can not expand junk mail folder

A weird thing happend to my junk mail, for no appearent reason. One of my four junk mail folders (since I use four email accounts) suddently has a little grey arrow next to it, implying that I should expand the folder to see the contents. When I click on the arrow, nothing happens. Next to the junk mail folder icon and text, it denotes that there are 11 new messages. I can't see them, and I can't delete them.
I would like to browse through these emails, since often there is one which may actually interest me. I can't figure it out. The three other junk mail folders/ email accounts have not changed, and are working just fine. I have not changed the settings. I don't think I dragged a new folder into the junk mail. Any insight?
    Thanks!

Report the names of the files and folders present at the first level of the ~/Library/Mail/POP-username@mailserver/ account folder.
In order to post the exact file names and avoid typing mistakes, proceed as follows. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/POP-username@mailserver/. With that folder open, if you’re looking at it in View > as List mode, first collapse any expanded folders so that the Finder only shows the files and folders at the first level. Now, do Edit > Select All (⌘A), then Edit > Copy (⌘C), and paste it in your reply to this post.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder.

  • Junk mail handling seems broken in Mail

I had a rather frustrating experience with Mail this morning, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. The closest thing I've seen thus far is another topic in this forum about messages being read but being marked as unread when you later go and view the contents of an INBOX. (Incidentally, I've experienced this behavior as well, though seldom.)
I went through my Mac.com account's inbox and noticed a bunch of messages which I could have sworn I had marked as Junk already. I'd say there were 4 or 5 junk messages. After I marked them as junk, they appeared to be moved to the Junk mail folder. At least, they apparently disappeared from that inbox.
I then checked my junk mail folders, and noticed a message (not one of the 4 or 5 that I had just identified as junk) that shouldn't have been marked as junk, so I marked it as Not Junk, and then manually dragged it back to my Mac.com inbox. Now, I know that occasionally the junk mail filter gives false positives for mail messages that it shouldn't, and I'm not complaining about that. What I'm complaining about is coming up next.
See, apparently, the Mail application lied to me when it indicated (visually) that the messages had been moved. After I had convinced myself that I saw only the mail messages in the Junk folder that should be there, I went and did an Erase Junk Mail operation -- which is not reversible.
Imagine my shock when I discovered the following:
    * The 4 or 5 messages that I marked as junk were back in the inbox. They were still marked as junk, which I confirmed by selecting each of those messages individually; the little "You marked this message as Junk" indicator bar appeared at the top of the view pane. But the junk messages apparently didn't actually get moved into the junk mail folder.
    * The 1 message which I marked as Not Junk and manually removed from the junk mail folder apparently is gone. It would seem that this message was not actually moved back to the inbox as the application visually indicated.
The first bullet point above is easy enough to take care of: Highlight the messages and do an Apply Rules (or manually move them). The second bullet point, I can't fix, because that message apparently is now gone. I wouldn't be quite so upset about it, except that the message in question was a confirmation message from Pay1040.com and would have been useful to keep around, especially if I needed to provide proof-of-payment to the IRS.
After this incident, I repaired permissions on my drive and restarted the Mail application; I haven't seen any misbehavior since, but I'm now very nervous about cleaning out my junk folders.

    LionMage,
Actually, you hit-the-nail-on-the-head when you said - '...but my guess is, some kind of synchronization between the Mac.com IMAP server and my Mail application needed to occur.' Mail gives you the option of how often it checks for new messages. And, since the original message stays on the Apple server, if there are any permission problems or lag in the system, its quit possible that you will receive a message twice because you receive new messages first, then sync your mail boxes last. You can see this in the status messages at the top of the Mail main window when you press 'Get Mail'.
Hence, they showed up again unexpectantly. And you were right, there may have been a simple problem with your system that you fixed by repairing the permissions and restarting your Mac.
Its only happened to me once or twice before, but I now let mail delete the Junk mail every 7 days no matter how full it gets (unless of course you get a lot of mail!). That way I've checked the Junk 3 to 4 times before it trashes them and I know that the server is sync'd properly at Apple before they disappear forever.

  • Erase Junk Mail function disabled!

Hello folks, for some reason my "Erase Junk Mail" menu options are greyed out and disabled.
I cannot empty my Junk Mail folders.
I've quit and restarted Mail. No help. Didn't seem to have this problem in 10.5.7.
    Ideas?

Do you have "perform custom actions" checked in the Junk preferences? If you do, the Erase Junk Mail option will be grayed out.

  • Viewing folders using Hotmail in Mail?

I'm using Hotmail in Mail and can only see Inbox, Sent and Junk folders.
How do I see all my mailbox folders?
    Thank you
(NB not sure if this is in the correct forum?).

I was trying to find something on it, but I cant get into the account anymore, I deleted my hotmail account after I signed up with Gmail.
~BUT, if it is the same, I would log onto Gmail, and then went to the Mail Settings, and they had a list of options of what you could push to your other email devices.
Hope its the same for hotmail!

Thanks Skydiver...Yes I have MSN (hotmail) on the IPAD's e-mail list along with Gmail Yahoo and so on.
It's basically useless since all my "folders" or on .MSN and you can't create any new folders in the IPAD's e mail system...........>REALLY< strange. I probably have 25 folders in .MSN.
