Msn messenger password question!!

i want msn or keychain whatever, to remember all the passwords i logged in..
i am logging in with one user name and password and checking the remember box and it remembers that but the problem is when i log in with another username and password it forgets the first password ..
so everytime i use a different username and password i have to put the password again and again..
does anybody know the solution of that..
thank you

  • MSN Messenger broken (but it's an OS X question, I promise)

    Hi all,
I'm running OS X 10.6.4 and since installing it MSN Messenger 7.0.2 seems to be broken (but only for my profile). Whenever I sign in ALL my contacts are blocked and I can't unblock them. However, when I sign in as another OS X user MSN seems to work ok, even when I sign in as the same account I use as my own account. This is why I think it's a profile issue.
I've dragged MSN to the trash and removed all signs I can find of an MSN profile but the problem persists when I reinstall (even when I 'upgrade' to MSN 8 Beta).
So, the question ... is there a way that I can find what files an app is using when it starts and therefore delete them? ~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.Messenger.plist and also ~/Documents/MSN Messenger Data ... it still remembers my login settings, though. Ideally I want to delete everything MSN uses and start from a clean slate but I'm 99% sure this isn't an OS X issue so I don't want to do anything extreme like reinstall OS X (esp. for a Microsoft app issue).
Can anyone help? I'm a bit too new to OS X to troubleshoot this sort of thing so any suggestions would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Fix:
    • For Messenger versions earlier than 7.0 on Mac OS X:
    a. Close MSN Messenger for Mac.
    b. Click the icon for the hard disk drive.
    c. Click Users, and then click your system user name.
    d. Click Library, click Preferences, and then click Microsoft.
    e. Drag com.microsoft.Messenger.plist, com.microsoft.MessengerDaemon.plist, Microsoft Messenger User Cache, and Microsoft Messenger User Cache.plist to the trash.
    • For Messenger version 7.0 and later versions on Mac OS X:
    a. Close MSN Messenger for Mac.
    b. Click the icon for the hard disk drive.
    c. Click Users, and then click your user name.
    d. Click Library, click Preferences, and then click Microsoft.
    e. Drag com.microsoft.Messenger.plist and com.microsoft.Messenger.rtc.plist to the trash.
    f. Open the Microsoft folder inside the preferences folder, and then drag Microsoft Messenger User Cache.plist to the trash.

  • MSN messenger telling me I have the wrong password

All forms of msn messenger and Im+ and IMO. Facebook will sign in on the latter two but msn tells me I have the wrong password( I don't)

I had (and have) the same problem.
Today I uploaded the new firmware 7.2.1 and immediately the disk on the AEBS stopped allowing access claiming I got the password wrong. I downgraded to 7.1.1 tonight and the disk has started allowing access again. not a solution of course, but something with the upgrade must have been wrong....surely???

  • MSN Messenger erase or how do I uninstall properly?

    Hello everyone
I wanted to install MSN Messenger original Microsoft Version. So I downloaded the compressed file, decompressed it and installed MSN Messenger. But the icon of the drive in which the compressed data was located wouldn't go away. And when I put it in the trash can and emptied it, MSN Messenger wouldn't start anymore, but display a big question mark in the icon located in the dock. So I removed this one as well. I wanted to know if there are any rests of files left on my hard drive, which should be erased. In general: How do I uninstall software from my MAC? Is there a special way to do it? And in case of MSN Messenger, do you think it was removed properly? If not, how can I do it afterwards?
    Thank you so much

    Hello,
Here is what you should have done to install it:
    Download the program.
Then, open the disk image that you received as your download.
Then, from the disk image, copy the Messenger program to your Applications folder on your hard drive.
Then, eject the disk image and if you wanted delete the downloaded file.
Then, you would have gone into the Applications folder to run your Messenger program.
What you did was run the program from the disk image rather than from your hard drive. So, naturally, when you ejected the disk image, the program was gone.
The installation method I mentioned above is the standard method of installing programs on Macintosh computers.
As for whether Messenger is a self-contained package, it is self-contained. If you delete the main program, then the whole program is gone.
All that it leaves behind is your conversation history / cache and a couple of preference files in your preferences folder that contains your user-name and password and your settings.
    These files are called:
    com.microsoft.MessengerDaemon.plist
    and
    com.microsoft.Messenger.plist
    and
    com.microsoft.AlertsDaemon.plist
    and
    Microsoft Messenger User Cache
    These files are located in:
Hard Drive --> Users --> "Your User Name" --> Library --> Preferences --> Microsoft
If you delete these files as well as the main application, then everything is gone.
    I hope this helps.
Let us know if you have other questions.
P.S., if you'd like, go ahead and click the "Helpful" or "Solved" buttons on any of the posts / replies above if you feel they were helpful or adequately answered your question.

  • Safari and MSN Messenger

I'm not sure what's going on but I came home this afternoon, the power apparently went out, and now. all of a sudden, I can't log into MSN Messenger and I keep getting a message when I log into Hotmail that the certificate has expired and that Safari doesn't recognize the url. I tried to launch Messenger. I have it set so that it launches automatically. Because of whatever is going on, I get an error message saying it doesn't recognize my address or password. I've deleted preference list files, reinstalled Messenger, restarted my computer, checked my internet settings...I'm at a loss. I'm sure this question should be posted to Microsoft but their lame a&*ed site doesn't offer ANYTHING in the way of actual support. Is there something I can do on my end or do I have to wait until this certificate issue is resolved?

In Safari Preferences Security tab Show Cookies and delete the ones related to MSN or Messenger or Hotmail or Microsoft. If that doesn't work you might try resetting Safari but you'll lose your Bookmarks if you don't backup your Users/Home/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist file and you'll have to reset Safari preferences.

do a check on the wsdl file and how you are passing values in the proxy. The tags for XML are not correct. Open the WSDL in IE and see there must be an error. Or probably when passing the actual values to the XML generated each element is not closed properly. Error says tags dont match.

  • MSN Messenger uses wrong inbuilt webcam for video chat on triple screen set up. It uses a cinema display webcam not the iMac webcam.

For some strange reason if i attach my 2  apple cinema displays to my iMac to make a triple  screen set up msn messenger video chat does work but it uses the apple cinema display inbuilt webcam and not the iMac webcam. Its annoying as i have to turn sideways to get into the video call view.
So i have  a set up like this: an apple cinema display thunderbolt, then in the middle an iMac new then to the right of the iMac another apple thunderbolt cinema display. WWhen i use MSN messenger to make a video call it uses the inbuilt webcam on the far right apple thunderbolt cinema display and not the inbuilt webcam in the iMac in front of me, its annoying any ideas please.
If i unplug both side cinema displays MSN messenger uses the inbuilt camera on the iMac like normal but when  i use extra screens it uses the webcam built into those and not the iMacs webcam.

I would try with another client like skype or something
and if it's only msn messanger which have the problem it may
be more of a question for ms's forum?

  • Mac OS X Update (Power PC) 10.4.6 caused MSN Messenger, Internet Problems

Hey Guys, Heres my problem. A couple days ago my software update came up and i downloaded the new OS X update 10.4.6 (power PC). that was fine and when it was done I restarted my computer, and when i went to go on the internet it worked fine but once i opened MSN messenger and tried to sign in , it would let me sign in but once i get signed in there would be no one online and shortly after i would lose my internet connection. So in short form when i sign into msn it causes me to lose my internet connection. I have treid to download msn again but no difference and i have also tried AMSN and it does the same thing. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the new OS X update or not
If anyone could help me out with this, that would be great.
    Thanks.
    Mike

    Hi, Mike.
You might want to search or post on the "Microsoft Messenger for Mac" group you can find on the Microsoft Mac Support - Newsgroups page. These are Google Groups with active participation from MS Microsoft Messenger for Mac users, including a variety of expert users.
I don't mean to send you somewhere else, but I've found numerous answers there for folks with questions related to MS products. Accordingly, it has often proved to be the first, best place to look for answers to questions such as you are asking.
    Good luck!

  • Dual screen imac uses wrong inbuilt webcam for msn messenger video chat.

I have an imac and apple display set up, using msn messenger the webcam built into the apple cinema display is used not the imac webcam itself, can I change this so the webcam built into the new imac is used, thanks.

Your info shows you are using some "Other OS".  If that is Windows, Linux, etc., I cannot help you.  However, if you are using some version of Mac OS X and your system info merely needs updating, keep reading.
It has been several years since I tested msn messenger for Mac (MMM) , and I no longer use it.  However, one of the following ideas should get things working unless MMM is written to prohibit selection of alternate cameras.
    (1) Launch MMM and check its Help menu item.  If MMM's Help on your Mac does not answer your question, check MMM's web support: http://mac2.microsoft.com/help/office/14/en-us/messenger/
    (2) If nothing in Help or Support gets things sorted, you may be able to use the trick from ¶ 4 of http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302781 to force MMM to choose the webcam built into the new imac:
    • Connect and power on all devices. • Quit MMM if it is running. • Launch any app with a user-selectable camera "Preferences..."
menu command. (The "tip" suggests that you use iChat,
but others like Photo Booth, iMovie, etc., may work, too.) • Open "Preferences..." and set the camera "Preference" to use
the display iSight. • Now launch MMM. MMM should now use the iMac's inbuilt
iSight because your display camera is in use by the other
     application.

  • MSN Messenger

I just downloaded the newest version for mac, and my cousin (who owns a PC) wants to video chat through MSN messenger, but I cannot find how to video chat on my version of MSN...is there a way to, or do I only have iChat for that?

    No. Download aMSN instead.

  • How do I set up MSN Messenger account in Messages?

Apologies if this is an over asked question, but...
I understand the 'whys' of how Messages cannot integrate with MSN Messenger, and I have been searching everywhere for a solution. I keep coming across posts by Ralph that lead me to a set up instructions page using Jabber. However, this just leads me to a 404. I went to register on Jabber, but there is a message saying that the servers would be turned off on 15th March!
Surely this can be done, so if any bright spark out there can shed some light on this for me, I can get to using Messages and get rid of Adium!
    Thanks all!

    Hi,
I did used to post a Link to the All Forces Site  but the subpages do not load for some reason  and you get the 404 message.
I did find another set recently for another post but now can't find it again.
Basically you have to create a Jabber account on a  Jabber server that has an MSN transport (or Gateway)
As well as logging in to the Jabber server you need to login to the Transport as well and also link this to Your MSN account.
Buddies are added to your Buddy list as UserName%[email protected]
Basically it adds all the servers to the name and swaps out the first @

  • Unable to log onto MSN messenger

    Hi,
I am currently experiencing major problems logging onto msn messenger at home. The funny thing about my problem is that msn works fine using other wireless connections. I have called up my internet provider (tiscali), apple technical support, and belkin (the company that makes my wireless router). No such luck yet. Apparently I have managed to figure out that it isn't that program that is at fault, nor is my computer. I can log in fine with other wireless networks (e.g. school library). The tricky thing is that it isn't the fault of my internet provider. There is no problem in me surfing the web (logging into hotmail to check my email)and using internet wirelessly in the house. I downloaded adiumx, amsn, fire, and msn messenger for macs. none of the will allow me to sign in with any user name ending with @hotmail.com from what i have concluded.
it just won't read my hotmail address when i type in my username and password.
my internet provider is tsicali and since it did not come with a wireless router, i bought a belkin one on my own. the belkin technicians have put down all the firewalls (dmz settings?)and security settings and I STILL can't log on to msn.
there are no firewalls on my macbook by default. so there's nothing to disable.
tiscali does not block any sites for their users as an internet provider.
I have even gone into utilities and to the terminal icon and switched the mtu setting to 1400
what more can i do right now?
does anybody have any idea what could be wrong?
    my computer? router? internet provider?
    please advise!
    mucho gracias
p.s. my flatmate uses the wireless internet just fine. she has a pc laptop and can log on to msn messenger no problem

  • Hotmail won't launch from MSN Messenger in Safari

[ Edited by Apple Discussions Moderator; Please start a new topic about your technical issue. ]
I can no longer access my Hotmail account from MSN Messenger (V5.1.1). This has only happened since the latest update. When I click on the mail icon in Messenger Safari goes in to a spin. I eventually am asked for my Hotmail password then Safari goes in to another spin and I keep getting asked for my password. Other browsers (Camino and Opera) are OK. Any thoughts? Do we have to wait for another update?

    Hi, Lewis, corgi
    You are welcome.
I do not know what this live stuff is all about, with MS in general. I think that it might be a good idea for the time being to log into MSN through Safari Browser & log into hotmail that way, If you then want to log out of the web mail hotmail MSN reguires that you have cookies.etc as I posted. so you can log out of hotmail. I do not have a paid account but rather a free passport account. If you do have a paid account, I would think you can still log in this way, as a work around, till you perhaps talk to them.
The cookies must be set to ALL before you log in.
I go to http://www.msn.com/ click on My MSN, then Hotmail.
    Hope this helps.

    Welcome to Discussions, gordon bt
I am unfamiliar with "icam", but, until you get help from someone with more BT experience, you might consider the following.
If you have ever made successful connection with this contact, you need to check whatever changed since things worked properly.
I don't know how to fix BT problems, but, in the USA, the thing that usually sorts such trouble for me is to merely shut down everything, wait about a minute, and then restart my modem. When the modem's self-test is complete, I restart my router and let its self-test run to completion. Finally, I restart my Mac and try the connection again. Barring internet or ISP problems, things are working again.
If your contact has the same problem with others, too, the problem is likely at his end. He should test.
If with YOU only, as suggested at http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=9544011
the best help for aMSN and Mercury will be from the dedicated fora for those applications. Did you check? Have you tried everything they suggested?
Questions about BT service, connections, or setup should be directed to BT. However, you can use a test site like http://www.speedtest.net to verify whether you are getting the promised broadband performance.
I have also posted this info at your newest post on this same issue at
