MSN/Verizon Home Page Reset

My browser has been hijacked to go to the MSN/Verizon home page. How can I get my home page back to the regular home page? I have tried the home page setting under Internet Options -> General, but this does not resolve the hijack. I am comfortable editing the registry if this is what I need to do.

Can't get Verizon Home Page. I can get Verizon webmail. Anybody else in Baltimore County, Md. or some other place having this problem It just happened this afternoon

I just got this message when I tried getting home page againerver Too Busy
I just spoke to a Verizon rep who said they were gradually phasing out verizon.net, and he said to use verizon.com but when I did it wasn't the Verizon homepage sign in page we have been getting so I typed in the correct log in and made that my homepage Actually it was the sign in home page that said server too busy.  I got server too busy when I clicked in IE on my desktop.

    Solved!

The rep said they were phasing out verizon.net and to use the  verizon.com. If you don't know the full sign in for the IE options from tools, then google to find the Verizon sign in page and put that in the  Internet Options as your home page after clicking on Tools. Then you will get the sign in page when you  click on IE from your desktop.
We should have been notified of this.
Never mind the rep must have been mistaken as they have fixed it and you can still use verizon.net.

  • Verizon home Page: Video Player

Wonder why the videos under the video player on the Verizon Home Page are all old stories? They have been there for weeks and never seem to change!!!!!

I now know why the video player on the Verizon Home Page had outdated video stories as this morning I see there is a new Verizon Home Page which I like alot. It is mostly white and has less red, which makes it more visually appealing. Also the new Verizon Home Page  has many more features and shows the many things available from Verizon.
Do I get a fee for this good advertisement?

  • Slow upload of Verizon home page along with limited connectivity

For the past few months I have noticed my  DSL connection has a limited connectivity issue and after it does connect my home page flashes and takes over 3 to 4 minutes to load this happens every time I use my internet explorer icon to connect. When I use my msn I have no problems. I would like to know if anyone else has had this experience also

Step one: Visit http://www.giganews.com/line_info.html and post up the Traceroute the page shows, if you wish. Be aware that your non-bogan public IP Address will show up.  It might shown up as the final hop (bottom-most line of the trace)  might contain a hop with your IP address in it. Either remove that line or show only the first two octets. What I'm looking for is a line that mentions "ERX" in it's name towards the end. If for some reason the trace does not complete (two lines full of Stars), keep the trace route intact.
For example this what I saw when I was using Verizon
    news.giganews.com
traceroute to 71.242.*.* (71.242.*.*), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets
        1 gw1-g-vlan201.dca.giganews.com (216.196.98.4) 13 ms 13 ms 13 ms
        2 ash-bb1-link.telia.net (213.248.70.241) 39 ms 7 ms 7 ms
        3 TenGigE0-2-0-0.GW1.IAD8.ALTER.NET (63.125.125.41) 4 ms 4 ms GigabitEthernet2-0-0.GW8.IAD8.ALTER.NET (63.65.76.189) 4 ms
        4 so-7-1-0-0.PHIL-CORE-RTR1.verizon-gni.net (130.81.20.137) 6 ms 6 ms 6 ms
        5 P3-0-0.PHIL-DSL-RTR11.verizon-gni.net (130.81.13.170) 6 ms 6 ms 6 ms
        6 static-71-242-*-*.phlapa.east.verizon.net (71.242.*.*) 32 ms 32 ms 33 ms
Step two: Can you provide the Transceiver Statistics from your modem?
#3 If you don't know how to get that info:
    a) What is the brand and model of your modem?
    b) If you have a RJ-45 WAN port router connected to it: What is the brand and model of the RJ-45 WAN port router?
#4 If you have a RJ-45 WAN port router connected to the modem, even if you know how to get the Transceiver Statistics from the modem: What is the brand and model of the RJ-45 WAN port router?
#5 Also please tell me what DNS Servers you are using. For example you could use the tool from https://www.grc.com/dns/benchmark.htm
If you are the original poster (OP) and your issue is solved, please remember to click the "Solution?" button so that others can more easily find it. If anyone has been helpful to you, please show your appreciation by clicking the "Kudos" button.

  • Can I set msn as home page on safari?

Is it possible to set MSN as a home page or the page Safari opens to?

No, but you can make a Home Screen shortcut to MSN. Navigate to the MSN page. Tap the icon in the toolbar that looks like a box with an arrow curving out of it. Tap "Add to Homescreen". Then, just access Safari by tapping the shortcut.

  • Firefox vers 5, crashes continually. Plus, it doesn't hold my home page. Needs reset every time the app has been closed. So with each crash, another home page reset. How can these issues be corrected. I know how to set the Home Page in the Option tab.

Closing Firefox 5.0 resets Home Page to /www.searchqu.com. I know how to set it in the options tab.Earlier versions never had this issue. Plus, I return after being away to find that a "crash error" apologizing for the inconvenience. How2 can this be corrected?

How can I permanently change it to display my city, state, zipcode

Is the issue here permanently or is the issue changing it at all?
To change it, all I did was click on the currently displayed city name, state, zip and enter my zip code, it is a clickable field for me.
Now permanently is a somewhat different issue. I have had to reset mine 2 or 3 times in the last year or so, for some reason it just magically decides to show me as someplace in NY I think, at least somewhere far from North Texas.

My guess is that you recently cleared your browser cookies, either on purpose or by accident.  Verizon's website, and most others, keep track of things like where you are by storing the information in cookies on your hard drive. I suggest you either stop clearing the cookies, or find a way to mark the cookies for the Verizon domain as ones you do not want deleted when you clear your cookies. Depending on your browser there are probably options in the browser itself to accomplish what you want, or perhaps an add-on.
    What browser are you using?

  • Verizon home page

way too much garbage about show biz and antics of stupid actors. who cares ???

Since my post the problem has corrected on its own. But just so you know, this was happening on multiple computers including my computer at work. I believe verizon was having an issue with it.But I do agree with you, it has to much on it and I wish they would go back to their old page.

  • Verizon Home Page Local News

I have set my local news location to my town.  It accepts it and then provides local news for that area, The next day when I check for local news in my area there is local news from some other city in my state or another state, WHAT'S UP WITH THAT? Everytime I reset it it defaults to some other place. COME ON MAN!!

I'm pretty sure that feature has been a bit buggy since the new website was pushed out (well, since MyVerizon 2.0). But just to be sure, you aren't clearing your browser cookies out after every session or at the end of the day are you? That setting should be set via cookie.

  • Customizing WeatherBug and Local News locations on Verizon home page

My WeatherBug location keeps defaulting to New York City.  My Local News location keeps changing to places all over the country instead of the one I chose.  What can I do to lock in the locations I want?  Also, do the locations for both widgets need to be the same?

I stopped paying attention to those things years ago.  I became much happier afterwards.

  • Cannot reset Home page-keeps defaulting to page I don't want even though I follow directions and answer question re changing home page Yes.

Home page reset not working. I follow directions and say Yes
to question re New home page, but system keeps defaulting to existing home page.

What '''''is''''' the web page that has taken over the homepage feature?

  • MSN Home Page Changed or Changing.

I like the new page.  Clean, bright, uncluttered, more customisable & more of a centralized hub* both due to the items (links) across the top and the items (links) w/in the sections.
    * increased ease of navigation
And, actually, I am not looking @ more advertising than I was on the old page.  Matter of fact, all I have is a wee square @ the top-right offering me to try OneDrive which, I, already, have & use.  Oh, & one in the middle about Skype which,
I, also, already, have & use.  I guess those can be called advertising but, other than them, nothing, no other ads on the page.  Nothing but, a couple of MS products, taking up no more space than previously.
    Cheers,
    Drew

    I hate it.
I used to go to my homepage and did not have to do anything to see what I look at the most. Quick glance at headline news, Weather and then all my stock quotes.
Had it setup in 3 columns and could see everything important to me.
Now I have to scroll down to see much. And even go to another page to see my full stock list and 3 day weather forecast.
Now I can see all this like before with no scrolling or clicking on another page, But I have to use Yahoo as my homepage.
Reminds me of the problems they had with Win 8. And takes them so long to correct their mistakes. At least Win 10 just around the corner.
How long before they give back the MSN normal home page.

  • When I click on the "menu" button in the boxes on my MSN home page, nothing happens.

my.msn.com home page has multiple boxs (stock quotes, MSNBC stories, weather, etc.) that can be customized by clicking on a "menu" button in each box, or closed by clicking on an "x" in each box. When I move my mouse over these button, they are highlighted but when I click, nothing happens.
