MSNBC Still Not Available Where Verizon Competes With Cablevision

Verizon FiOS doesn't yet carry MSNBC in the areas they compete with Cablevision because when Cablevision did their original contract with MSNBC way back when, they shrewdly hoodwinked MSNBC into giving them exclusivity in the areas they service. It's my understanding that MSNBC has assured Verizon that when that contract term is up, Cablevision can take those exclusivity rights and shove them up their {word filter avoidance}
I keep hearing conflicting info concerning when this MSNBC contract with Cablevision is up. Anyone?

iPad requires Wifi (or 3G /LTE) to connect to the Internet. You cannot connect a USB modem to the iPad.
You can create your own WiFi hotspot through your computer for your iPad to connect to, if your computer supports this functionality. All Wifi Macs and many Wifi PCs do. Check your computer manual for how to do it.

None of us are realy "Global TV subscribers", we are customers of one TV service provider or another, aka cable and satellite companies. Alas, I am in the situation where my service provider - Bell TV - has apparently not yet reached an agreement with Global, so I am hooped twice. I paid iTunes for a season pass that seems to have stopped delvering content. And I pay Bell TV for content which Global says I can only get in online form once Global and Bell reach some kind of agreement, although Shaw, Telus and Cogeco subscribers are already receiving it.

The features of the iphone do not work until it has been activated with the carrier.
If the iphone was previously active, then it would work, but you would have to have an active SIM or the previously activated SIM in the iphone in order to update the software or to restore the iphone ( which is very possible to be needed during the life of the iphone).

Flv export still not available after upgrade

After upgrading to Flash CS3 the option to export to flv is
still not available on my Intel Mac from Quicktime Pro or Final Cut
Pro 5.1.14. I upgraded with the understanding that the new version
would be universal binary and would offer this ability that was

You dont have any data on your phone yet right?

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least 15 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Try reset all settings.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings. It won't delete any data.

LR 4 RC2 ...vexing problem, 3 sessions with support and still not able to find? With all settings reset and running a test catalog a raw image when opened in develop will when imediately going back to library view show a significant color shift in red, orange and purple but only in images with significant content in those colors. at first the culprit appeared to be camera calibration default but not reproducable. The problem exists even when opening older images from months ago? Also if second screen running in loupe mode the image is not shifted.

Jim01403, Geoff and others...I'm new here so I'll need a little time The thread is very interesting, populated by serious mature people, how refreshing! It clearly is part of what i'm experiencing and is answered answered here...thank you. My main problem is still the significant color shift between develope and library modules. I'll attach one from each so you and others can see. Unfortunately the library version is the bad one so printing is now very problematic...Note, this occurs in either single or with second monitor on the library version is displayed. I have reset virtually everything and wonder if a cache is not updating or color space is not matching? A symptom/detail worth noting, when switching to library mode, the correct image is displayed for about a second then it jumps to what you see in the examples. As if the library module starts to rendering from develope settings then jumps tback to the original inedited preview??
Maybe just go back to 3.6 and tread water till 4.1 is fixed?

Javadoc for NW2004s Still Not Available

I would like to ask why is the javadoc for NetWeaver 2004s still not available?
The SPS07 (which was promised to be the oficially first version released globally) was published some month ago. The sneak preview is also free for download for some time.
But the installations of both released versions do not contain the javadoc.
There is some javadoc for older libraries included in NWDS help; but there is no javadoc for newer components like CAF/GP. And all references to javadoc point to a page on SDN mentioning that NW2004s javadoc is not released yet.
Why you keep the NW2004s javadoc hidden from the developers' eyes? What is so secret in it?
We need the javadoc! Please publish it!

Why is disk optimization not available on our Surface with 8.1?

We have a Surface with Windows 8.1 RT. When I go to the Tools and try to Optimize (trim) the SSD it says "Optimization not available" and the Analyze and Optimize buttons are greyed out. I've seen posts where others are able to optimize
their drives, so what am I missing in this case. I checked the Services for Optimization and it was set to manual, but even when turning it on at startup automatically it makes no difference. Any ideas on how to optimize on the Surface?
Why is the option available if you can't use it?

S. Sengupta, I think you are missing the point of my original post. Of course I know you don't defrag an SSD. But you can optimize them using Trim. I have two other notebooks running Windows 8.1 and both have the ability to optimize the
SSDs as shown in the screenshot AnaBna posted. This is not normal behavior for the options to be greyed out, and only our Surface with 8.1 RT exhibits this behavior. Possibly this IS normal for a Surface, and if there is anyone else out there with
a Surface (regular, not Pro) willing to look they can tell me if theirs is also un-optimizable. The only thing that makes me think other's with a Surface can optimize is that when I searched for a solution to this others mention they can do this on their
Surface.
I say this with all respect, but I think sometimes on this forum people just fire off answers very quickly without really reading the whole question or knowing the answer just to get credit for posts and points.

OK, i still need an access to our oracle805 DB via network. My
listener is running and "lsnrctl status"
tells me that my oracle instance has 1 service handler. so i
guess it is working fine. My instance is running, 'cause i can
login via sqlplus <login>/<password>. BUT it dosen't work in a
loopback like sqlplus <login>/<password>@<SID>
By doing this i get an "ORACLE is not available" error - and
this doesn't make any sense to me. The environment (ORACLE_SID
and ORACLE_HOME) is set correctly.
I don't know what i should do now and i really hope there is
somebody who can help me.

Federation merge still not available?

Is it still not possible to perform a merge operation which merges the content of two SQL Azure federations?
Considering that SQL Azure does not support cross-database SELECT/INSERT's, it almost sounds like I would need to retrieve all data from one federation, store it in some persistent format in blob storage, perform a DROP operation to extend an existing federation
and then import the data back into SQL Azure.
Is this still the case?

I'm sorry that you're having issues with SQL Database Federations. Unfortunately we are in the process of deprecating Federations, in part based on customer feedback.

Location based reminders option not available on iPhone 6plus with iOS 8.1

Location based reminders option (within Reminders app) is not available. I can open the app and create a reminder based off time, but there is no option present to specify location. I have location services enabled. The Reminders app is not listed in my apps eligible to use Location services, but it's never asked... because it's not an option in the app to select.

Try using Siri to set the reminder, something like "remind me to call mom when I leave home". It should either know or ask what "home" is and that may initiate the location services. I did confirm that location services are available on the latest OS for the iPhone plus (just checked mine).

Patch 4329444 still not available for windows??

I've done a fresh install of GC 10gR2 on windows. I planned to upgrade it to 10gR3 today but the patch 4329444 that the documentation says to install is not available on metalink? It's available for Linux only..the doco says it should be available in Feb 2007.
So is anyone running R3 on windows? if so, did you just bypass the patch?

Got a response from Oracle...
Support said to do the upgrade on the database to 10.2 and then follow the other steps. The weird thing is if you check the Grid Control Checker, it says 10.1.0.4+ is supported for 10gR3 OMS...which makes me wonder why do i have to bother with the upgrade.
If anyone is running GC 10gR3 on windows, i would like to know what they did..

Why is lightning to 30 pin adapter still not available in november

iPhone 5 (and lightning) launch was in september and the apple site said that adapters would be shipping in october. This is now november and the site still says shipping in 5-7 days. How was this overlooked during the iphone 5 production? No one at apple thought until september that people might need/want a lightning to 30 pin adapter for all the 30 pin accessories collected for various ios devices over the past 10 years?
I've never been a fan of iOS but have always liked apple hardware and the fact that music syncing to ipods and iphones is so simplified (on android, you have to jump through a few hoops and there's still no good car integration for android, probably to fragmentation of android device manufacturers) and the fact that it's not difficult to find an iphone car solution (beyond aux port or fm xmitter). But this sudden change in charging/data port should have been planned much better esp coming from a company of apple's caliber.
I guess I'm just wondering if there is a good answer for such a lack of availability of such a ubiquitous accessory. $200-400 for a phone from a company with $100 billion in cash and I don't even have the option to get my hands on an adapter in stores over a month later. Any explanations from apple or other apple device users would be much appreciated to quell my frustration.
