MSO PRO-E 7522 BIOS confusion and persistent BSoD

Hi there
A few months ago I switched from 775 to 1366.
Components changed:
CPU (from Q9550 to i7 950)
MOBO (from Asus P5QL PRO to MSI PRO-E
RAM (From 8gb 800Mhz DDR2 to 12GB 1333Mhz DDR3 ADATA)
PSU (from Antec 550W to Cooler Master Ultimate 900W
+1 GFX card (Another ATI XfX 5870 Black Ed.)
I did not overclock the old system and I haven't overclocked my current system.
Now the thing is, I've been having bluescreens ever since I got that MSI PRO-E.
I've tried: switching RAM (since it said 1 was faulty), switched harddrives, reinstalled windows +/-6 times and looking for driver updates.
Now finaly I went looking at the BIOS.
Since I got a new PRO-E I remembered that I had no idea what version of the BIOS was running.
It seems that currently version 8.C0 is running.
Now I need to know if it matters that I've got the 8.xx BIOS version while running a crossfire setup.
Because I've read this:
Version 7.xx (7.3 is supposed to be the latest) supports Crossfire
Version 8.xx (8.E is supposed to be the latest) supports SLI.
Now I understand that 7.3 won't support SLI, only crossfire.
But does version 8.xx support both SLI AND Crossfire? Or am I simple messing up my computer because I've got a wrong BIOS version?
BSoD info:
problem continues to be caused by: ntkrnlmp.exe I think.
Well the first blue screen does not:

I have also tried: registry cleaner countless times. though it sometimes did find stuff I don't think anything could relate to some shortcut which the program thought to be useless but was actualy referring to the windows debugging program. And even without regsitry faults (being detected) it crashed.
So I just need to knowL could it be my BIOS version + Crossfire = blue screen
If not.. any idea's?

Ah, ok so its already running at 1066?
Yes.
Quote
CPU-Z showed 530.5
CPU-Z always shows the real frequency.  Because of the DDR architecture (Double Data Rate) there are two transactions per clock cycle.  That means 530.5 MHz effectively translates to 530.5 x 2 = DDR3-1061 [~DDR3-1066].  The small difference (DDR3-1061 vs. DDR3-1066) can have two causes:  The Base Clock Speed is either not set to 133 MHz in BIOS Setup and/or Spread Spectrum in Enabled and causes small clock speed deviations.
Quote
Then what would you have me do now?
Leave the memory frequency setting @DDR3-1066.  It is better for testing anyway.  You can worry about that later.  The only thing you may want to check is the Base Clock speed (make sure it is set to 133 MHz in BIOS) and the Spread Spectrum setting (disable it).

  • GS60 Pro cannot flash bios 106 and 10B

    I'm having some issues with my GS60 Pro where the screen drops out to black when fullscreening a window such as a browser, windows explorer or whatever really.  Tried different drivers, no drivers, safe mode, does not make a difference.
    But I digress.  I'd like to try and update the bios before sending the computer in for service.  Problem is, whenever attempt to uefi flash to bios version 106 or the latest 10B, I get a message that says 'Failed, Wrong Image format!'.  Bios 104 flashes fine, no user error here folks.
    Has anyone had issues flashing?  What gives?

    Try to use the CRC32 tool to create the CRC code of the ROM file you downloaded.
    CRC32 tool link: https://db.tt/HW7LeskD
    BIOS Download link: http://download.msi.com/bos_exe/E16H2IMS.10B.zip
    Check if you have the same CRC code. I have "0x798b9ba5".
    Update:
    1. Extract the CRC32.rar
    2. Run the CRC32.exe
    3. Click the "..." button to browse the BIOS file "E16H2IMS.10B"
    4. Click CRC32.
    5. CRC code will show up in CRC32 column.

  • H97M-G42 stuck at boot with BIOS 7925v25 and 7924v26

    I am in a loophole with the MSI H97M-G43 Motherboard.
    I would not recommend this motherboard to anyone planning to play with ESXi
    Bios v21 v22 v23 v24 would not recognize quadport lan adapters such as Intel PRO/1000 VT or Intel PRO/1000 PT.
    In Bios they will appear us "Unrecognized Manufacturer" and there is no option to enable hardware from unrecognized manufacturers
    Bios v25 v26 would recognize PRO/1000 VT hardware but would refuse to but OS.
    Very very confusing and unstable situation.

    Update:
    Bios v25 & v26 are unable to initialize 32GB of RAM, thus creating boot issues.
    16GB RAM work just fine.
    Bios v21,v22,v23,v24 would handle 32GB of ram without any problems.

  • Acrobat Pro 6 Average Daily Production and Math.round problem

    Acrobat Pro 6 Average Daily Production and Math.round problem
    (Production.0) (154) (whole units) . (Production.1) (90) (fractional) / (divided by) 31 (days) results in (Average.0) (4)(whole units) . (Average.1) (10) (fractional) using :Math.round. Noticed that 154 (whole units) . 85 through 99 (fractional) also show 4.10. (without Math.round : 5.00)
    Method:
    Production.0 (whole units) . Production .1 (fractional) / Days = (Average Daily Production) (Average.0 (whole units) . (Average.1) (fractional)
     Production.0 (value not calculated), Production 1 (calculated) (event.value = util.printx("0099", (event.value)).substr(-2,2); Average.0 (value not calculate), and Average.1 has following calculation:
    var punits = this.getField("Production.0");
    var pfrac = this.getField("Production.1");
    var average = 0.0;
    average = (punits.value + pfrac.value / 100) / this.getField("Days").value;
    this.getField("Average.0").value = average - average % 1;
    this.getField("Average.1").value = util.printx("0099", Math.round((average % 1 * 100))).substr(-2,2);
    Math.round appears to be a problem. Also, could you explain the purpose of 0099 . Anyway, why would 154.85 through 154.90 divided by 31 give 4,10. Also, their must be a better way, to find the average daily production. All you have to do is divided the production (whole. fractional) by the days, and display the average daily production as (whole. fractional). Any suggestions??

    There are a many loose ends in your question.
    First, I have never seen before a variable type called 'var'. Is it a java primitive or a class?
    Next, I cannot seem to find any class that has the printx method.
    When it comes to substr(-2,2), I get confused. First, I thought that it was a method of the String class, but I only got as far as substring(beginIndex, endIndex).
    If you really must break the production and average into pieces, try this:
    float average = (punits + pfrac/100) / days;
    int avg_units = (int)average;
    int avg_frac = (int)( (average - avg_units) * 100 );My guess is that util.printx("0099", x) formats x having two optional digits and two mandatory digits, showing 0-99 as 00-99, but allows to show numbers with three and four digits.
    154.85/31 = 4,9951612903225806451612903225806
    154.99/31= 4,9996774193548387096774193548387
    If you round the fraction of theese numbers multiplied by 100 ( = 99.51.. and 99.968...) you get 100, and this will be the output of printx. My guess for "4.10" is that substr(-2,2) returns the two first characters of the string, because the start index should not be zero. (According to java docs, substring throws an exception on a negative index, so what kind of class are you really using ??????)

  • Yoga 2 Pro Need Previous BIOS

    Hi folks,
    I was wondering if anyone has the BIOS installer previous to the 76CN38WW.
    I'm currently running the 76CN38WW and ever since I updated it, my wireless stops work "suddenly" (with no apparent reason).
    In Lenovo's support site (http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-2-pro-lenovo//downloa... the current BIOS (76CN41WW) is said to "Add security patch for UEFI". I have absolutely no interest on such feature, as I dual boot into Linux and it was a pain to make it boot after I upgrade to the 76CN38WW.
    Just in case you ask yourselves, I tested the wireless in both Linux and Windows. So yes, I'm sure it's not an OS issue. I also replaced my wireless card twice to make sure it's not a hardware problem. The remaning alternatives are either the BIOS or motherboard. I do not believe in the motherboard because everytime I boot my computer (again, Windows or Linux, indifferently) the wireless works for a random period of time.
    In Linux I get the following error from dmesg:
    iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: Failed to wake NIC for hcmd
    iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: Error sending REMOVE_STA: enqueue_hcmd failed: -5
    iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: Failed to remove station. Id=0
    iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: failed to remove AP station

    BWT, Lenovo could improve the "change log"  of the drivers/BIOS installers. Simply saying that "Latest version BIOS fixed all merged issues from previous" is insulting: we purchased the hardware, we are well aware of it's issues, it wouldn't hurt to tell us what exactly you are doing with the drivers/BIOS that influence our experience with our machines.
    In my case, for example, Lenovo's "security patch for UEFI" is prohibiting me from doing what I want with my hardware. It ships with Windows, OK. But I'm not obliged to stick with it. I'm not asking for Operating System support either, simply want the hardware to work as it was supposed to.
    NOTE: I'm saying that the UEFI patch is prohibiting me from doing what I want because last time I upgraded the BIOS it was a nightmare to boot back to Linux. I haven't installed the latest BIOS (76CN41WW) and I do not intend to unless I know exactly what it will do.

  • Quicktime Pro problems, involving Error -43 and disappearing files

    I'm very confused, and I'm hoping someone can help me. Right now I'm in the process of trying to get my Quicktime Pro movies to my Ipod (in iTunes), but it hasn't been working for me. Hopefully I can get some insight here.
    What I do is, I download the MPEG4 video files and they open up in Quicktime Pro. I then click "Export" and choose Video to iPod. I then choose a destination, and re-name the file if I want (I usually rename it, and send it either to my desktop or My documents). After it's exported, it SHOULD appear in that place, and about 30% of the times it does, the other times it just disappears. However, after I'm done dragging it to iTunes, I then want to take it off my desktop, so I've been putting all of the video files into a folder I created in My documents. Now, they DO load onto my Ipod and iTunes, but when I want to play them in iTunes, it does the whole "Error 43- File could not be found" when I know for SURE it's still on my computer. And if I want to play that certain video file again on Quicktime, when I search for it the files arn't even there, yet when I go in manually I see them.
    Some theories I have: When I export the files from Quicktime to iPod, I usually rename the file. Does this affect anything?
    My iTunes IS NOT set to manually manage music and videos, maybe I should reset that?
    One thing I am curious about, is when I put the exported video files into a folder on my computer, the little icon that comes up for them is the Windows Media Player Icon. This may just be because I'm using a Windows PC, but who knows.
    I really hope someone has ideas on what I'm doing wrong, I'd really appreciate some help. Or if someone would walk me step-by-step through the process of Quicktime ---> iPod, that would be wonderful also.

    The only time I have experienced error- 43 file could not be found was when having a drive named in a way that QT could not read from. For example (F:\F:\), drive named (F:\) QT could then play. Kirkster points out something interesting in this link on how the error 43 can also be generated:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1151490&tstart=15
    Changing the name of a file should not prevent QT from playing the file, it is unusual to have a WMP logo on the file, what is showing when right clicking and Properties?
    It is difficult to understand your post, your all over the place at once on the computer.

  • Dividing IVY From Sandy BIOS's and Drivers

    This is not a bash! Only a suggestion to the visiting MSI employees that show up a lot more often nowdays to consider passing along to their bosses. Maybe to help clarify to many unsuspecting product users wanting to update their BIOS and drivers. The Z68A-GD65(G3) is used here for an example;
    http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z68A-GD65--G3-.html#/?div=BIOS
    To eliminate confusion, separate the two from each other. Running Ivy and Sandy together is a recipe to nothing but problems. As for the Driver Section, it has ME7 for Sandy. Granted, the ME8 is part of the driver package download for Ivy, but it is not listed along with the P6 update. Many will miss this important step if trying to use P6 and update to an Ivy CPU.
    Other thoughts;
    Unless planning on running an Ivy CPU with PCI-E 3.0 support, this Ivy update is not recommended in the first place. If an Ivy CPU is wanted along with all the 7 chipset perks it provides, get a Z77 platform people!
    IMHO, only the Z68 (G3)'s really get much of any benefit out of using an Ivy CPU (other than Z77 of course). P67, what do you get? ClickBIOSII and potential problems, problems, problems, that's about it.

    Right, not a 6 series chipset itself problem, but the Ivy UEFI/BIOS interaction dealing with the 22nm and 32nm processors.
    Maybe the goal at MSI will be to offer a single UEFI/BIOS update and associated drivers that covers both CPU architectures without having a need to divide them.

    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1

    When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
    Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
    Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. I know the report is long. Please post all of it anyway.
    In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
    Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.
