MSS and Employee Search on General Overview

Hi,
we are using MSS 1.0 and EP7.0/ECC 6.0 .
We are using the MSS page "General Information". So far, it works fine, you can select the people with "Employee Search" and the iviews display the data accordingly on the page.
Now, we have added the iview "Appraisals"from another page. But it does not react to the selected employee on the page.
Is there a special parameter, when I move one MSS iview from one page to another, where I tell them to use the selected employee on the new page?

Hi Holger,
We are testing MSS for ERP 1.0. You said your Employee Search iView is able to select employees and display accordingly. I'm hoping that maybe you would know why my Employee Search iView does not allow me to select the employees. It always shows the first employee in the General Information iView. There is no checkboxes, hyperlinks, dble-clicks or anything to select another employee.

Employee Search in MSS Approve Time Sheet Data

Employee Search in MSS Approve Time Sheet Data (Net Weaver Portal 2004s)
In MSS we need upper level managers to be able to approve time for employees who reside in lower level org units and are not the managers direct reports. This is usually the case when the chief the employees do report to directly is absent.
In the MSS Team view the links General Information, Compensation Information and Personnel Development have an Employee Search iView with a dropdown containing options for Direct Reports, Employees from Organizational Structure, Employees from Organizational Units and Employee Search. We have been told that in previous versions of MSS that functionality existed in the Approve Time Sheet Data iView as well which would appear to solve our problem.
Is this functionality available in Approve Time Sheet Data and if so how is it configured? Or is there another way (other than manipulating the org structure) for managers to view non-direct reports and approve their time?

Please have a look at the standard iview for Team Viewer.
Portal Content - Content provided by SAP - line_manager - Manager Self-Service - iViews - HCM - Employee Search (Generic iview)

Under Employee Selection - you can see different options - Direct Reports, Employees for Org Structure, Employees for Org Units, and Employee Search.
This iview is configurable using the Backend configuration and changing a couple of iview properties.
You can also customize the search criteria according to your needs.

You can integrate a copy of this iview (customized) into a page and then add your custom iview at the bottom and subscribe to the team viewer events as explained in the wiki link I mentioned earlier.
If you try to integrate the application directly using FPM integration - it will be hard to customize it to your needs.

Employee search in MSS Team view

Hi,
Our requirement is to add a new criteria (employee by cost center) to the search criteria drop down in MSS Team view.
I have done the following steps in Object and Data provider node in spro-
u2022     Define rules for object selection
u2022     Define object selection
u2022     Define organizational structure views
u2022     Group organizational structure views
The new criteria is now visible in the dropdown, but on selecting the dropdown value no fields for input of cost center are displayed. Are there any settings that need to be done to define the input fields? If yes, what are these settings and where do I do them?

Now I see the problem. And I dont think it is possible.
I recoment you to look at class CL_HRWPC_SEARCH_VIA_SELID. This class used by MSS for employee search. You can see it in IMG Define object selection. Copy and try modify it or find ther class you can use. I hope will work without any modification in NWDS.
All I did was definition rules for object selection where I put my FM for object selection. I did not enter any values the searsh was in the FM.

Employee Search Issue

We are facing an Issue. Under MSS Role, Employee Search Iview (Under Team), We are able to see Manager's Direct Reports in a Grid / table format
However, there is no hyperlink for us to click & Choose the specific subordinate for furthur processing
Is there any setting / cusomization which enable / disable the hyper link in the employee search Iview?
Has any one noticed this issue before?
We are tying to choose one of the subordinate of the Manager and choose any of the links available in Related Link Section

MSS Employee search and General Data

Hi All,
We are implementing ESS/MSS. When i preview "Employee Search" iview in (Content Provided by SAP>Line Manager> Employee Search) iview. It shows all employees under that line manger with all options. But when i click on any employee, it is not showing any information. I tried to test "General Data" iview, it simply shows "Please select any employee, to display data" text only.
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

MSS General Information (Employee Search iview Fetching wrong Manager)

In MSS we have General Information page which has Employee Search iview. This iview display the information in a table which has several columns... (Name, Personal Number, Manager, Position, Staffing Ration, Job... etc)
The problem is under the Manager Section its displaying the wrong Manager Name, it should show the name of manager who has logged in but instead its showing some other manager.
e.g. If David has logged in as a Manager and is searching for employees reporting him then in the employee search iview it show David's name as Manager for all his reportees) But in our case instead of David its showing wrong manager name.
We have checked from functional point of view and the reporting relationship is okay as the manager (David) is able to approve the leave requests and overtime requests raised by his reportees.
Kindly suggest a solution.

MSS General Information Employee Search A002 relationship

Hi All,
We are having A002 based reporting structure ( no A012 relationship maintained).
In General information there is a Iview for employee search.
When we execute this search ( say using pernr), search does not return any values.
Now if I maintain A012 relationship between Organization unit and the managerial position then this search works fine.
My question is:
1. Is issue related to structural authorization?
2. Do i need to maintain some entry in T77S0 table?
3. Or do I need to implement Z search class in Object and Data provider similar to CL_HRWPC_SEARCH_VIA_SELID?
Any help would be highly appreciated.

This iView displays the employees in the manageru2019s area of responsibility, that is, employees who report either directly or indirectly to the manager. The display is based on the SAP application component Organizational Management.
so check the properties of the iview ie
Group of organizational structure views

Administrator

Organizational structure view group, for example MSS_TMV_EE, stored in Customizing.
Individual organizational structure view
sap.xss.tmv.orgview
Administrator

ie check Function module HRWPC_GET_DIREPS_OF_LEVEL_1
(Rule MSS_TMV_RULE1 uses evaluation path SAP_MANG and rule MSS_TMV_RULE5

Employee Search iView and dyanmic iViews

We are implementing MSS Business package (mySAPERP 2005). We have a requirement to design a page with Employee search iView ( Team viewer), universal worklist and a report iView. What we are trying to achieve is that if a manager selects an employee in the team viewer the employee profile iviews (General Data and Personal data which are dependent on the pernr that is passed from Team viewer) should appear in the same page replacing universal worklist and the reports iView.If anyone has done this, please share your experience with us. MSS Employee Search results

Hi All,
        Just wondering if any one knew if the standard delivered MSS > Team > General Information > Employee Search (a.k.a OADP) shows separated/withdrawn/terminated employees as part of search results. I just separated a couple of employees in our development environment with PA40 only to find out that they are still showing up under direct repots.
        If this is indeed a standard behavior is there any way to filter the search results to display only active employees without having to customize OADP configuration?

you can do so in ESS STAT2 settings in table T77S0
ie

     EVAL_INITIA which filters and select the per.nos and send to the

Link Personnal Data from ESS with Employee Search from MSS

Hi all,
I would like to know if it is possible to create an iVew with on the top the "employee search engine" and on the bottom the "Personnal Data" from ESS package ?
Why that ? With the standard of MSS, I can change the personnal data from a specific employee through :
Team->General Information -> Related Links (Identity) and then I got a Popup with the ability to modify the personnal data.
I would like the same but in one iView and one click.
Is it possible ?

When you select/click on an employee in the Employee search iview, an event is raised which is subscribed in all the iviews below the employee search in that page. This is how the update happens in the other iviews.
If you would like to put Employee Search iview at the top and personal data (From ESS) at the bottom, you will need to make changes in the personal data application of ESS and subscribe the event raised by the Employee Search.
Basically you can integrate any custom iview with the employee search iview.

Issue with Planning/ Approval screen in MSS and General Information.

I have 2 req's
1. In General Information of MSS we have Employee Search iView, in the dropdown we have different options like direct reports, employees by org unit, employees by org. tree, now the req. is:
in employees by org. tree we want to have the tree structure collapsed (not expanded).
for ex: root                    instead want to have root
             child1
             child2
I couldn't see any DC for employee search in NWDS. guide me to the proper DC.
2. In Compensation Planning/ Approval screen we have included a new iView and the problem is that on the when employee is selected it is populating the first time and when we select the new employee the iView is not getting refreshed.
for ex.
I selected a employee the first time the iview is getting populated and again from the list when I select a new employee the iview is not populated for the new person selected. our observation the view is not getting refreshed and it is hitting the FM in the backend system when debugging we see the pernr is not getting passed properly.
fyi: there are some of the views which we are not using so in that we created the new view and made it the default view in Window. because of that we haven't created a new DC in MSS.
please help me out in these 2 issues.

My Mistake I need to write the code in WdDoModifyView, instead I worte the whole code in WdDoInit.
for having the tree collapsed:
setNavigationObjectTreeExpandLevel(0);
it will solve the problem.

How can I display appraisals in "employee search(MSS)"?

I created a new iView that is copied from employee search of MSS .

I changed the properity as below.
Organizational Structure View > MSS_HAP_EE_SRCH
Group of Organizational Structure Views > MSS_HAP_STATUS
As a result I can confirm the screen of appraisal table in this iView but the appraisal data is not displayed in this iView.
Should I customise any more?
I think that the cause of this problem is in "HRHAP_PORTAL_COLUMN_FILL_ERP".
There is many parameters and table, but I cannot find the point to give it to this function module.
