MSS Business Package Integration (ep 6)

Hi Everyone
I'm on an EP 6 SP3 and SAP 4.7 extension set 2 and I'm bringing in the business package and I've imported all of the packages through the Portal application.
I've created a System entry with the SAP_R3_HumanResources system alias. I've also done the back end mapping to a manager user in the HR system.
When I run the iViews (example attendance overview) I get the message 'could not connect to the r/3 system'
Am I missing something on the back end or on the application server which needs to be set in order for the iViews in question to see the r/3 system?
Any thoughts/comments/help would be highly appreciated.

Hi Sunitha,
I made an alias on my system file which is "SAP_R3_HumanResources" so I'm using the default alias.
Using this alias I'm able to connect to the r/3 system via WinGui with my SSO working properly....
I'll try what you're asking, but does anyone have any other thoughts?

We have implemented MSS business package with PCR adobe forms.
Portal NW04 SP18, ERP 2004 , ADS is Nw04sp16 and abode reader 7.0.7.
we have develped own PCR using existing ISR frame work.
every thing working fine.but user facing performance problem like some times while opening pcr form ,browser gets hang up.
Is there any way to increase performance of adobe forms of PCR.

Hi!
Interactive Forms need a lot of performance on the client side. If the client hangy up I think this is realted to client issues.
Also I would update the forms server to be the same version as the other NW components (Portal).

1.How to remove or disable the personalise link on team viewer view?
2.How to make the filter on by default without click on the link while after loading view?

GO to Content admin -->Portal content
click on search .
and seach for eu_role
u can get standard role .. open the object ..
Just remove the Portal personalization workset and save it ..

Impact of ESS/MSS Business Packages

We are implementing the SAP Portal and therefore will be downloading and installing the ESS/MSS Business Packages. I would appreciate if anyone could tell me if there is any impact on any SAP HR existing functionalities as a result of this. Do we need to be aware of any issues that you may have encountered in your implementation.

I don't think any problem with existing functionality. but you need to make sure you download and install the correct version and SP stack.

Upgrade path for ESS/MSS business package while upgrading to ECC 6.0

Hi All,
We have a scenario where SAP Enterprise Portal 7.0 SP 18 is currently running with SAP ECC 4.6C. SAP ECC is being upgraded to SAP ECC 6.0 and consequently we have a requirement to upgrade to the latest ESS/MSS business package. In a scenario like this what is SAP recommended approach for ESS/MSS upgrade? My questions are
1) Is a direct upgrade of ESS/MSS possible? If this is possible, then how will it be done on a production system with reduced or no downtime?
2) Should ESS/MSS business package be deployed and configured afresh after removing/undeploying the existing version of ESS/MSS business package? If this is the case how would the earlier customizations be restored?
3) Is there any other approach?

Hi Suresh,
In my openion, it will be good if you go for new implementation, reason being as you mentiond ECC versionyou are on is 4.6c all the ESS applications are ITS based now a days all the application/iView for ESS are Webdynpro for Java or WD for ABAP based.
Till the time the new portal ready you can continue with your currect one (No down time require).
Most of the people are using this way. (Check the SDN for more details).
Also chcek this migration guide, which will give you the basic steps required.

Belgium is great--- Originally from upstate NY, then Vermont and Wisconsin, moved here in 1991 for 5 years-- still here! Wallonia, not far from Liège --- but in the country, small village - VTT out my back door!-- also close to Maastricht and not 40 km from Aachen! Still haven't tasted all the Belgian Brews-- but it's not for not trying!
No official APPLE STORE yet in Belgium, but lots of good ones like MacLine and CAMi.
Seems this problem is really solved-- now to get my Finder windows to not change, and to find-out why, when I unmount 1 external hard drive or more via the sidebar or via FreeSpace Tab & Unmount utility that the ghost image of the drive remains in the sidebar and I have to go to Finder/Preferences/SIdebar and unclick "(show) external Drives" then click it again, then all is OK. Weird things in Mountain Lion!

Customizing MSS Business Package

We have implemented MSS Business Package in the Enterprise Portal 6.0. Now we want to know how to customize the iviews. For example change the look & Feel for an iview.

Noufal,
what do you mean by look and feel? What do you want to change? Do you mean changing the Iviews etc?
I suggest not to go for it as this package and content is provided by SAP and just configure the items necessary for you and leave the rest of them. If you intended to use only few Iviews then create your own role and assign these iviews as delta links in your role and have your own way of presenting the MSS.

After MSS business package deployment EP server is not starting

After deploying MSS business package BPMSS601_5-20001489.zip my Enterprise portal server is not starting. I did this from being in client machine. Not directly in the server. I dont what is the problem and how to resolve this issue. I didnt upload the support package. Please help me to solve this issue.

could you please check if there is anything in your logs (default trace under /usr/sap/<sid>/JCxx/j2ee/cluster/server0/logs and the server-logs under/usr/sap/<sid>/JCxx/work )?

MSS Business Package Deployment Error

Hi there, we tried to deploy MSS Business Package (version 6.0.1.2 - which is delivered in *.SCA format and deployed via the SAP Deployment Manager) on a PORTAL (SP12). Unfortunately we get the folllowing error "com.sap.sdm.util.sduread.|||FormatedSduFileException. The information about the development component found in the SDA..."
Is this because you require the SAP Java Components to be installed on the same PORTAL WAS Box (we have a seperated WAS box (ERP2004) with ECC and the Java Components installed on it.
