MSS CO Reports

Hi,
I do have a question regarding MSS CO reports,  we have around 55 cost centres and the requirement is that each manager looks only at his own Cost Centre report.
Is there any way where i can create a role that depends on OM structure whereby the cost centre is populated from the user master record instead of creating a 55 role for each cost centre?
your help is very much appreciated.
Regards,
Aziz

I am afraid the org levels do not cover cost centres. But thanks for your help.
Regards,
Aziz

  • Error when executing function in MSS launchpad report ???

    In MSS lanchpad report, we have the following problem:
    Error in Manager Sef-Service
    When calling the report, the following error occurred:
    System: HRP
    Error when executing function
    Basically in MSS report, I select employees in the first iView which calls another ABAP query in back-end to display back-end t-code inside iView of portal through ITS service. What could be the reason for it? please advice.
    Thanks,
    Anthony

    Please try converting the standadrd-delivered scenario RPT0, then check
    out the things.
    Also problem may be that your function code names contain
    the character '&'. This causes a problem when the selected function
    code is passed to the ITS-WebGUI as a URL parameter. Please use only
    standard characters (A..Z and _) when you define a function code.
    Then it should work.
    Please go through the following link also

    Please test in backend using Se38 > PWPC_RPT_START_REPORT_TEST
    The Reporting Iview in the portal has the Report category type, by
    the report category type is set to "RPT0". Therefore, when the
    application is launched, the reporting category type is also sent as URL
    parameter to the backend system. As of ECC 6.0 only the reporting
    category type "RPT0" is supported. ensure this is set for your custom reports if you are using own scenarion
    then set in the Iview property of reports as well
    ie example
    1)Change the Iview property "Scenario" of the Reporting iview from
    "RPT0" to your own "ZRPT", than this set of reports will work. however,
    the standard reports will not work.

  • MSS BW Reporting [Beginner]

    Hello all,
    I'm looking into implementing BW (3.5) Reporting on our EP (7.0)'s MSS Business Package. And I don't have any idea on how to configure the MSS to show the reports in the reporting workset.
    Any guides or how-to's that you can share for this? It would really help me a lot.. (Assuming I've already successfully deployed the MSS package on our EP)
    Thanks in Advance.
    -Jan

    Hello Jan,
    Please following the steps for BI MSS Reports Workset.
    Go to SA38
    Run Program - FPB_LP_WRITE_ENTRIES
    Workset: Reports
    Technical name: com.sap.pct.erp.mss.reports
    Use
    This workset contains a collection of reports that are relevant for a manager.
    Features
    The Reports workset contains the Report page with the following iViews:
    Launchpad (com.sap.pct.erp.common.reportlaunchpadpcd)
    This iView is part of the Business Package for Common Partsand is called using  Delta Links. In the delta link, the following application parameters are defined:
    ○     role=MSS
    ○     instance=REP
    ○     display_external=X
    Balanced Scorecard Elements (com.sap.pct.erp.mss.balanced_scorecard_elements)
    Reports in the Launchpad
    BI content includes Web templates that are used to display reports in the Launchpad. To add the Web templates to the
    Launchpad as example entries, execute the program FPB_LP_WRITE_ENTRIES with the MSS role and the REPinstance.
    Irrespective of the logon language, the program adds example entries with descriptive texts in English. The example entries provide you with an indication of how you can use the Launchpad. In Customizing for the Launchpad, you can tailor the example entries to suit your requirements.
    Some of the Web templates are also available as iViews in other locations within MSS:
    Cost Centers u2013 Cost Pools under Budget
    Budget Consumption: Overview under Planning
    ●     Headcount under Team
    ●     Headcount FTE under Team
    For information about a manager's personnel area, you can also integrate Manager's Desktop reports in the Launchpad. For more information, see HCM Reports.
    Please find the list of BI reports used in Portal for MSS

  • MSS Approval Report Links to Busines Workflow Task in UWL

    Hello All,
    I have a scenario below that I'm hoping you can help.
    I copied the standard business workflow task "TS31000007: CATS Approval by Supervisor" to create our own task (general task) and link the 'CatManagerApprove' application and 'sap.com/msscatapproval' package to this task in the Workflow Visualization Configuration.
    We then assigned this new task to the time data entry profile for the portal.  Once, employee released the working time, the task is created and send to the Universal Worklist.
    The manager can then access the UWL and open this approve time workflow task. This task is open to the MSS Approval Report (similar to what appear under the MSS > Tasks > Approve Time by Manager).
    However, I have copied the Approve Time by Manager to our own and changed some of the  order of the column and header text and assigned to the MSS role.
    I would like to have this CATS approval task open to the same approval report view/layout as in the MSS Approval Report.
    I've tried to change the layout (column order) through portal contents of the standard MSS Approval Report because I thought it was reading from there, but it's not.
    Does anyone know how this can be done or where to point to the MSS Approval Report on the portal.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Tam

    Hi Karri,
    We were able to use the launch iview task to launch our specific iview but I cannot seem to get it to recognize the workitem. In other words, when I click on the task in the UWL, my approve working time iview appears but it does not have the data that is from the workflow task item. Attached is the XML code that I used:
    <ItemType name="uwl.task.webflow.TS93000001.SAP_ECC_Financials" connector="WebFlowConnector" defaultView="DefaultView" defaultAction="launchIView" executionMode="default">
          <ItemTypeCriteria systemId="SAP_ECC_Financials" externalType="TS93000001" connector="WebFlowConnector"/>
          <Actions>
            <Action name="launchIView" groupAction="" handler="IViewLauncher" returnToDetailViewAllowed="yes" launchInNewWindow="yes" launchNewWindowFeatures="resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes,status=yes,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,directories=no">
              <Properties>
                <Property name="newWindowFeatures" value="resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes,status=yes,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,directories=no"/>
                <Property name="page" value="pcd:portal_content/net.saccounty.SacCounty/net.saccounty.approve_ts_data"/>
                <Property name="openInNewWindow" value="yes"/>
                <Property name="display_order_priority" value="5"/>
                <Property name="workitemId" value="${item.externalId}"/>
              </Properties>
              <Descriptions default=""/>
            </Action>
          </Actions>
        </ItemType>
    I thought the line <Property name="workitemId" value="${item.externalId}"/> would pick up the work item ID, but it is not working. Any suggestions?
    TS93000001 is our task. approve_ts_data is our iview. It opens in a new window correctly and goes to the correct iview, just is not the actual task data.
    Thank you,
    Mark.

      Can any one guide as to what the issues could be and if there is anything else to do

    Can you please clarify this
    I dont know why so many things are going on.
    Can pl do a simple check to isolate your problem.
    - Is SSO to BW system working fine using SAP GUI for Windows ?
    I assume you have created the System and met all the prequisites (like same user id and other steps)
    Go to Support>SAP App.>SAP Trans-->Select WinGUI for testing.
    -If it is not working you need to fix the SSO prob first.
    They you have to check the SSO (to the BW System)using WebGUI .
    Again Do you really need WebGUI to use your BW System from Portal ?
    You have maintain the ITS related Parameters (3 parameters) in the ITS service files.Please check in the SSO config guide.
    If you could update , we can go ahead fixing ur prob..
    Priyabrata
    What do u mean by whether we really need webgui. I mean in my case like MSS reports or a custom BW web report can i use ITS?
    If i can use ITS how can I do that.
    Currently we have portal, ITS and R/3 intrgrated and running. ESS MSS works fine with this stuff. Our issues started when we wanted to bring in BW reports in heneral and MSS reports in oparticular.
    Please guide

    Hi Salim, sorry for the delay but I was in transit...
    Check the following <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/5523">weblog</a>. It has some useful information about the parameters needed for BW integration. The error you are getting is from the portal appintegrator component, not from BW. So you should check the parameters you are setting.

  • MSS IAC reporting error?

    Hi,
    We created custom MSS role which has limited services from standard MSS role.  So we didn't want to make any change to the standard MSS role.  One of the service under custom MSS role is reporting we made it to point to reporting page(PCD as below) instead of standard LPA reporting.
    pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/line_manager/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.pages/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.hcm/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.reporting
    When we assign custom MSS role to a user, user could see the report but there is a button on this report "Report status" which pops up a new window pointing to IAC reporting iView(PCD as below), this one fails because of permission denied.
    pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/line_manager/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.iviews/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.hcm/com.sap.pct.mss.hcm.rpt.iac
    The permission is denied because the user do not have standard MSS role, but he only has custom MSS role.  If I assign standard MSS role, the above PCD works perfectly.  The above PCD is located under the standard MSS role.
    How and where do I change to point to different PCD instead of standard PCD as above?
    We copied the IAC reporting iView to the custom MSS role, new PCD location is as below
    pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/line_manager/company.pct.erp.mss.bp_folder/company.pct.erp.mss.iviews/company.pct.erp.mss.hcm/company.pct.mss.hcm.rpt.iac
    How can I change to this PCD for this report?
    Thanks
    Praveen

    Hi Siddharth, where in the backend I can set new PCD path for IAC reporting?
    I cannot see any property for iView PCD?
    I found thread with similiar issue but it was to do with runtime error, for me I get permission denied because new MSS role is trying to access standard MSS role PCD object as said in my first post.
    /thread/1394682 [original link is broken]
    Please let me know where is this configured in the backend SPRO?   Or is this PCD link hardcoded in the "Report Result" button?
    Thanks
    Praveen
    Just more info on this issue, the actual PCD of the iAC report is
    portal_content/com.sap.pct/line_manager/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.iviews/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.hcm/com.sap.pct.mss.hcm.rpt.iac
    Where as when clicking on the "Report result" button it's looking at below PCD which is inside standard MSS role
    portal_content/com.sap.pct/line_manager/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.roles/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.manager_self_service/com.sap.pct.mss.hcm.rpt.iac
    This is why the custom MSS role is unable to access above PCD which is inside the standard MSS role.  Is there a way around to point or change this PCD in SPRO or custom role level?

  • MSS Absence Report PT64 not working via IAC iView

    We have a problem with MSS regarding the PT64 Absence Report. If we invoke the report via SAP GUI it produces a report using the correct date criteria specified.
    If we invoke the same report through MSS business package v 60.1.4 on EP6 SP2, the Selection Criteria iView delivered in the business package launches a new window to display the report using an AppIntegrator IAC iView and generates a URL as follows:
    http://server/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3a!2f!2fportal_content!2fcom.sap.portal.migrated!2fep_5.0!2ftemplates!2fcom.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.bwc.IAC?System=SAP_R3_HumanResources&SAP_IAC=hrwpc_fc_exec&SAP_QueryString=S%3DZMSS%26F%3D*HISRETABS+5%26B%3D18000101%26E%3D20050901%26V%5B1%5D%3DZRPT_D1%26O%5B1%5D%3DP00003582
    The report ignores the date criteria passed from the MSS iView. I can see in the URL above that the URL contains the dates I specified in MSS (start date=18000101 and end date=20050901).
    So I assume that either the URL is wrong or that PT64 or ITS is incorrectly interpreting the URL?
    Problem is, how do I know what the URL is supposed to look like?
    And if ITS or PT64 is incorrectly interpreting the URL query data, how on earth do I investigate or debug this.
    Cheers,
    Steve

    I would like a list of standard reports (staff) to be associated with report service in the MSS suite.

    You can have only one report category for MSS, you cant have multiple categories so this is will be difficult
    if you need only one for all mss users then it can be done

  • MSS Competence Report by Position not working in portal

    Hi,
    We have developed a custom R/3 report which is "Competence Report by Position". This report need to be accessed via Reporting iview of the portal.
    And in portal we have added new object Selection criteria "Position by Operational Org units ".
    Once we select this report in the portal and in next step we select the Object selection criteria "Position by Operational Org units " and click on Report Result we are getting the object selection screen saying Please specify an object type(this is in IAC window)
    instead we want the report to be shown directly.
    We suspect that due to some issue position value is not going into the program and so it is asking for object type again.
    Please suggest are we missing something here?
    Backend version :ECC 6.0
    Thanks
    Raj

    Yes, but I am using 10.5.2.  I was charged for 2 season passes of a show.  When I hit "report a problem" it takes me to the support page.  Within the support pages I used "Express Lane" to open a case.  I am awaiting their email back.  I am just hoping they don't tell me to use the "report a problem" again.

  • MSS standard report

    Goodday,
    I have a question here with regards to the above. For example, in the attendance overview report, it will list down a list of employees whom are 'absent', 'Temporarily Absent' and 'At Work'. Can i know how are these derived from the backend? Does it look thru IT2006?
    Reason i'm asking is there are a couple of incidents where the employee is on annual leave but the report still shows as 'At work'. Thanks
    P.S:- Runi

    Hi Nahoj,
    Attendance Overview application reads data from Info types 2001 & 2002 using the functions of the request database. To determine the attendance status, the system first reads the data from the BAPI TimeAvailSchedule in the backend system. This BAPI checks once in a hour whether the employee should be at work and whether or not he is actually at work at this time.
    You can check the documentation for the functions module of the method BAPI_TIMEAVAILSCHEDULE_BUILD (Generate List of Employee Availability).
    The system reads employeesu2019 absences from the request database. The system checks whether requests exist in the request database that have not yet been approved. If it finds requests that have not yet been approved, it outputs the status Open Request.
    For each hour of the day, the system then checks the attendance status determined by the BAPI and from this determines the status that is to be output for the whole day. That is, even if an employee is absent for just one hour during the day, the status output for the employee is Temporarily Absent.

    We are in process of modifying the MSS home page in Portal.  The requirement is to add few more columns other than the default three columns.  I created new structure view, data view and column group.  The new column group has additional columns.  I am using the existing columns from the system.  When I use the new structure in the iView, I am facing following two issues:
    1) For personnel # column it shows me the position IDs.
    2) For other columns i.e. Email etc. the columns are blank.  They don't populate any data.
    Can someone please help me if I am missing any config step?
    Thanks.

    Anyone?
