MSS Launchpad

Hello everybody,
Please can someone assist with a problem we are experiencing?
We have installed EP 7, SP6 with MSS (mySAP ERP)1.0
One of the iViews we require is not in the business package. This is the Launch Pad iView.
I have searched through the entire list and within each folder that makes up the business package. There were no error messages during the installation of the business package.
Please can someone help with this problem as it is a vital component of the portal?
Many thanks in advance
Jo-lize

Please find the MSS iview Launchpad in the common parts-directory in the PCD.
(content for end users, common parts etc. etc.)

  • Problem with MSS Launchpad

    Hello folks,
We are facing some problem with MSS Launchpad after the service pack, we have checked sicf, lpd_cust and done most of the troubleshooting steps, reached to point where we found table  T77MWBFCD and changed the URL value here, launchpad worked but the URL which we want to work and which was working fine in the past has stopped working.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi everybody,
finally we managed to fix this bug on our own.
We set up the Managers Desktop (MDT) as suggested by SAP. But the MDT's reports could not be converted to the launchpad.
Then we recognized via debugging that for any reason the following entries were missing in table FPB_LP6_SNI_REQ:
    - Role ROLE C 3 MSS
    - Instance INSTANCE C 3 REP
Adding these entries manually fixed the problem.

  • Problems with reports run from the MSS Launchpad

    Hi,
The problem I am facing is with the reports being run from the MSS Launchpad. When i click on it, I can see that certain buttons like "Selection Fields", "org Assignment" are disabled. But there in one more button "More" which is enabled and clicking on it gives all the disabled options as enabled. However when the report window is maximized, the button "More " vanishes and all the buttons become disabled.
I need to enable all the buttons now showing as disabled. Eagerly awaiting your reply.

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply. But can you please let me know how?

  • MSS LAunchpad customization

    Hi gurus,
I do not see any facility to customize Launchpad in MSS through SPRO. Can any one tell me what needs to be done.
I went to SPRO --> integration with my other mysap.com components --> Business packages / Fucntional PAckages --> Manager self-service (Mysap ERP) .
I see a node called reporting but it does not haev any customization entries for Launch pad.
Can some one let me know if there is supposed to be some customization possible for launch pad and if yes how do we enable them to be accessed through SPRO.
Apreciate any gidance on the same,
    regadrs

    Thanks PK,
I have already gone through this doc and am using it for my reference. Here the doc says
The administrator makes the settings for the launchpad in the
Implementation Guide (IMG) of the relevant business package.
I did not find Launchpad settings under Manager self service in SPRO. So i asked where to exactly search for this node in SPRO as this document does not talk abou this.
I guess i can use transaction 'FPB_LP_MSS_REP_CUST' to do this, but i am curios to know the SPRO path (lest i may not miss any surrounding/related nodes for launchpad customization) which for some reason has not been mentioned in the documentation.
    Any suggestions??

Could anybody please let me know if it is possible and if yes, how to do it.

  • Error when executing function in MSS launchpad report ???

In MSS lanchpad report, we have the following problem:
    Error in Manager Sef-Service
When calling the report, the following error occurred:
    System: HRP
    Error when executing function
Basically in MSS report, I select employees in the first iView which calls another ABAP query in back-end to display back-end t-code inside iView of portal through ITS service. What could be the reason for it? please advice.
    Thanks,
    Anthony

Please try converting the standadrd-delivered scenario RPT0, then check
    out the things.
Also problem may be that your function code names contain
the character '&'. This causes a problem when the selected function
code is passed to the ITS-WebGUI as a URL parameter. Please use only
standard characters (A..Z and _) when you define a function code.
    Then it should work.
Please go through the following link also

    3198408d953154e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
Please test in backend using Se38 > PWPC_RPT_START_REPORT_TEST
The Reporting Iview in the portal has the Report category type, by
the report category type is set to "RPT0". Therefore, when the
application is launched, the reporting category type is also sent as URL
parameter to the backend system. As of ECC 6.0 only the reporting
category type "RPT0" is supported. ensure this is set for your custom reports if you are using own scenarion
then set in the Iview property of reports as well
    ie example
1)Change the Iview property "Scenario" of the Reporting iview from
"RPT0" to your own "ZRPT", than this set of reports will work. however,
the standard reports will not work.

  • Customizing MSS ADDON Launchpad

    Hi,
We would like to add Leave Request funcionality in MSS launchpad (MSS ADDON). We are running SAP ECC 6 on EHP5.
I have created a new link on MSS launchpad. I configured the parameter PERNR_MEM_ID on Application Parameter option, but after selecting a user and clicking on "Leave Request" option, the "Leave Request" window opens but the parameter PERNR_MEM_ID is empty. With this parameter empty, the manager can´t create a leave request for his employees.
    Launchpad Config
    MSS Application
    Leave Request URL (PERNR_MEM_ID empty):
    http://server:port/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/hress_a_ptarq_leavreq_appl?PERNR_MEM_ID=&sap-wd-configid=HRESS_AC_PTARQ_LEAVREQ
Clock In-Out Corrections URL  (PERNR_MEM_ID filled):
    http://server:port/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/hress_a_corrections?PERNR_MEM_ID=866258514&sap-wd-configid=HRESS_AC_CORRECTIONS
It should come filled, because when I click on "Clock In / Clock Out Corrections" , this parameter comes filled.
I think there is something with the "Application Alias" parameter. I´ve configured it manually with value CREATE_LEAVE_REQUEST. Should it be a randomic value or do I have to configure it in somewhere?
    Thanks.
    Bruno

    Well.. So I don´t know...
I have configured as you told me and PERNR_MEM_ID is still empty.
I think the "Application Alias" is the "key" and there is something configured behind it, because if I setup Leave Request as bellow, it works:
    Application Alias = CLOCK_IN_CLOCK_OUT
    Application Parameter =
    Configuration = HRESS_AC_PTARQ_LEAVREQ
    Namespace = sap
    Application = HRESS_A_PTARQ_LEAVREQ_APPL

  • Can anyone help me understanding the links between Launchpad roles, PFCG roles, and portal roles!?!

    Hi experts,
I am looking at the newer EhP5 and EhP6 functionality for ESS and MSS, specifically the WD ABAP portal applications.  I've turned on all the business functions and services I think our team wants, however I'm confused on how to move forward in using them.  For a little tech info, we are on EhP6 for the backend, but our portal is 7.02.
My first step was to assign the com.sap.pct.erp.ess.wda.Employee_Self_Service_WDA portal role to our test ESS user group in our sandbox environment.  The ESS user got a new ESS tab in the portal and it's linked to the Launchpad role ESS, Instance MENU.  I'm comfortable with ESS at this point, still need to learn more about customizing the menu for different employee groups without creating additional Launchpad or SAP roles.
Question 1: Correct me if I'm wrong, but is the Launchpad roll ESS, instance menu linked to the PFCG role SAP_EMPLOYEE_ESS_WDA_2?
Next, I was looking to see if there was a similar portal role for MSS, but it seems I can't find one.  I implemented the MSS Addon 1.0 for ABAP and the portal and got a new MSS portal addon role, but it doesn't seem to be connected to any MSS Launchpad role.
Question 2: Is there a portal role to assign to users/groups that is linked to one of the MSS Launchpad roles? If yes, what business function or service is it a part of?
I'd like to use of the existing MSS Launchpad role to test some of the new portal functionality, but I'm not sure how to do it.
Question 3: How is a Launchpad role assigned to a SAP role in PFCG?  Anyone have some documentation they can point me too?
    Kind regards,
    Garrett Meredith

Thank you Samuli, this was very helpful in connecting many of the pieces.
For now I have a very good understanding of how the new ESS is controlled and modified.
It appears that FPM_LAUNCHPAD_UIBB could be used to develop a similar component to call a custom launchpad role for MSS containing a customized list of WDA applications.
Is a MSS Launchpad a good way to pursue since we use a SAP enterprise portal?
I found a PAOC_MSS package containing other MSS embedded packages.
Could I use one of the embedded packages in there and by creating a Component configuration in the FPM_LAUNCHPAD_UIBB for one of the MSS WD applications?
Based on the documentation link above, PFCG roles are for NWBC HTML or Desktop versions.
    Kind regards,
    Garrett

The documentation is not much help and doesn't really tell you what to do.

  • Launchpad Reports problem

    Hi All
In MSS Launchpad Reports, the Entry Date value is showing as 00.00.0000.
For example I have selected Service Anniversaries in Launchpad and selected All employees and then clicked on Report Result. In the output I am getting Entry value as 00.00.0000 and also Year as 00.
In fact the Entry date in all other Reports of Launchpad is also same as above.
    Any help is highly appreciated

  • Removing Report from launchpad

I'm trying to remove a report from the MSS Launchpad and I'm not seeing exactly how to do it.  I'm not sure if that is done from the backend through SPRO, or if I can just hide it via the portal from content administration.  We are on ECC6 and ERP2005 I believe.
    Thanks.

Ok, with help locating the right documentation area, this problem is solved.  For anyone else who is having trouble with this, I went to:
IMG: Integration with Other MySAP.com Components --> Business Packages / Functional Packages --> Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP) --> Reporting --> Set Up LaunchPad
From here (transaction: FPB_LP_MSS_REP_CUST) I simply removed the line that corresponded to the report I wanted to remove from the LaunchPad.
    Thanks for the responses.

  • Report launchpad is not working under MSS

    Hi,
We are configuring MSS and now the report launchpad is showing errors like Role: MSS instance: REP NOT_FOUND.
I know we need to configure the MDT scenario and then change the iView property. But I could not find the documentation on which property in the launchpad iView to change and how to change it to mactch the scenario we defined in MDT.
    Can anyone help?

    hi,
Even i had the same probelm.. which i reported to SAP.. they replied me with folowing message :-
    hanks for the message.
Kindly check whether corrections of Note 940552 are implemented in your
    system.
Some of the customers reported the same issue. In their case they
got no reports if they run program #PWPC_CONV_MDT_TO_LPA# with type
#RPT0# because the Report Launchpad was not initialized.
You could also solve the problem if you start the customizing of the
    report launchpad. ( Transaction FPB_LP_MSS_REP_CUST )
If you do that the first time you will get a popup
that ask you whether you want a tree at the left side or not.
For the Manager Self Service you could say no and then you must save
    the launchpad.
Now the launchpad is initialized and you could run the report for
    inserting the MDT reports.
If you want also add the financials report please implement at first
    the correction at note 954301.
After that you could also insert the Financials reports.
I asume certain table contents are not delivered, because they form partof Launchpad customization.
    Please implement any of the two solutions;
    1) (Preferred sol.) Start the customization of the Launchpad (
Transaction FPB_LP_MSS_REP_CUST ). Check that table FPB_LP6_SNI is no
longer empty, and has the required entry. Then run the transaction to
    convert.
    2) Manually add the line to table FPB_LP6_SNI. The values are role =
'MSS', instance = 'REP', and sni_used = ' ' (blank). Then run the
    transaction to convert.

  • No reports displayed in MSS Report Launchpad

    Hello everybody,
We set up ESS/MSS on a distributed environment.
    Backend:
         ECC 6.0 EhP 3
         Single-ABAP Stack
         Installed Backend Component EA-HR 603
         Activated Backend Function EA_FIN_1
    Portal:
         NW 7.0 SPS 17
         Single-Java Stack
         Installed Components: SAPPCUI_GP 603 SP4, SAP_ESS 603 SP3, SAP_MSS 600 SP15
    Problem
The configuration works fine for a couple of ESS and MSS iViews and pages, but we get the following problem with MSS Reports:
-> When calling the Launchpad no reports are displayed and an info message is shown telling "No objects were personalized".
-> When clicking on "Change Launchpad" you see several reports sorted in groupings. They are already listed in the table of shown reports but are not displayed in the launchpad.
-> When clicking on "Save and Exit" you get two additional info messages telling "No Applications entered", but no reports are displayed. When you then open "change launchpad" screen again the reports totally disappear from table of shown reports.
    Portal Launchpad Configuration:
    -> pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.erp.common
-> The launchpad iView connects to the backend via SSO which works fine for a lot of other ESS/MSS iViews
-> As application parameters the following is configured: "class=CL_FPB_SNI_ACCESS&role=MSS&instance=REP&display_external=X"
    Backend Customization:
-> When launching transaction "fpb_launchpad_cust" with role MSS and instance REP you can see all the reports which are displayed in "change launchpad" screen.
-> All the reports are Transaction Reports
-> The Manager's Desktop (MDT) is not used
    So:
1.) Why are the reports not displayed in the launchpad, but in the "Change Launchpad" screen?
2.) Did we forget any customizing?
3.) Why do we see such info messages like "No objects were personalized"?
4.) And what refers the application parameter "class=CL_FPB_SNI_ACCESS" to?
    Please help me,
    Dennis

    Hi everybody,
finally we managed to fix this bug on our own.
We set up the Managers Desktop (MDT) as suggested by SAP. But the MDT's reports could not be converted to the launchpad.
Then we recognized via debugging that for any reason the following entries were missing in table FPB_LP6_SNI_REQ:
    - Role ROLE C 3 MSS
    - Instance INSTANCE C 3 REP
Adding these entries manually fixed the problem.

    Dennis Bohlmann
