MSS -- Organizational and Position Profile

Issue is with the Position profile and the Organizational profile in MSS.
1. For Organizational profile, data is available at backend for General Description for Org unit, but  the data is not displayed under MSS in the portal. (the resource etc has been checked in IMG and appears to be OK, other sub iviews are populated)
HRMSS_RFC_ORG_DESCRIPTION returns the correct values in the back-end HCM system, but the iview is empty.
2. For position profile, we are unable to view data in the following iviews, *General description, *Compensation and *Employee Group. Data is maintained in the backend HCM system for this position (see example screen-shot below).
No OADP configuration changes have been made.
Any input greatly appreciated.

  • Position Profile & Organization Profile in MSS

    Dear All,
I have included Position Profile and Organization Profile Iviews under General Information (Team Workset). However, when I open these Iviews, the page is blank (Position Description, Working Time, Compensation, Position Holders, Vacancy, Cost Distribution, Employee Group, Accounting, Requirements   Iviews). I am getting a message in these Iviews as "To display data, first select a position".
Am I missing any configuration. Please suggest.
    Thanks!

can you check if the url of pcd is correctly maintained?
you need to adjust the URL of the
PCD Page with the prefix "EYROLES" (instead of "ROLES")
within the table view V_T7XSSSERRES for the following entries
    in your R/3 backend:
    - MSS_HCM_SERV_EEPROFILE_GENERALDATA
    - MSS_HCM_SERV_POSITION_PROFILES
    - MSS_HCM_SERV_PPRO_HOLDERS\
    ie
    1) Use Tcode:SM30 to open the View: "V_T7XSSSERRES" in change mode.
    2) Open the resource Key "MSS_HCM_SERV_EEPROFILE_GENERALDATA"
    for editing.
    3) Please maintain the following parameters.
    Resource Key: MSS_HCM_SERV_EEPROFILE_GENERALDATA
    Description:     Employee Profile: General Data
    Object Name:     GeneralDataApp
    Window Name :         _blank
    URL of the PCD Page:

  • MSS- Position Profile - No hyperlink

Under MSS --> Organization --> Organizational Overview
    1. Organizational Profile - I am able to see the position details when selecting hyperlink for position from Position Holders.
    2. Position profile - I should be able to see the same information, but there are no hyperlinks available when I select the Position profile.
Is there any specific configuration that needs to be done to populate data onto this iview.
    Help appreciated.

yes you need to these steps to resolve this
In order to resolve the problem, please perform the changes as listed
below. Please be advised that these changes has to be done manually.
    1) Change the value of the Iview property "Group of Organizational
Structure View" of the Position Profile Search Iview into "
MSS_POS_SEARCH ". Please be advised that the text is case sensitive. The
Other two Iview properties "Organization Structure View" and
"Organizational Structure Views with List Display in Navigation Area"
    should be left empty.
The standard delivery of the iview:
    "com.sap.pct.erp.mss.posprofile_positionsearch" is available under the
following PCD path in the Portal.
    "pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/line_manager/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.bp_fold
    er/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.14.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.14.roles/com.sap
    .pct.erp.mss.manager_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.manager/
    overview/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.organization/organizational_overview/
    com.sap.pct.erp.mss.position_profile/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.posprofile_posi
    tionsearch"
    2) Changes to the OADP column in the backend system as mentioned below.
      a) In the View: V_TWPC_COL_ERP
      b) Choose the column: ORG_STEXT
      c) Check the "Event-Link" check box

    Hi All,
I would like change ivew path from Standard iView to custom iView for Position Profile Link in MSS-> Organization -> Position Information Application.
FYI : I am using MSS Addon  Application which are based on WDA and FPM.
I belive that This link can be configred in the backend system.
Please tell me where to be defined custom iView pcd path for Position Profile Link.

    Thanks both for your replies.
    @ Siddarth
I have checked help link it is not very clear where to change from standard  to custom FPM configuration (ZHRMSS_POSITION_PROFILE_OIF).
Could you please tell me where exactly need to be given custom configuration name.
Below Point is not clear :
This service is also called through the object-based navigation using the method launch_profile of the business object PositionObject
    @ Sahir
As per requirement i have to remove Working Time UIBB from HRMSS_POSITION_PROFILE_OIF. For this i have made Z copy and removed  the same. This is calling from on click of Position Profile link from Position Information (First Screenshot).
So here my Question is how to link custom ZHRMSS_POSITION_PROFILE_OIF onclick of Position Profile link of Position Information Application.

  • Position Profile Page Link Location from Organisational Overview

    Hi all,
In the organisational overview MSS page we have links from the Position Holder inner iView.  If the link to the position is clicked, it loads the position profile - but it uses the position profile oage located in standard content (as per the below link):
    http://<server address>/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES%3A%2F%2Fportal_content%2Fcom.sap.pct%2Fline_manager%2Fcom.sap.pct.erp.mss.bp_folder%2Fcom.sap.pct.erp.mss.pages%2Fcom.sap.pct.erp.mss.hcm%2Fcom.sap.pct.erp.mss.position_profile&WebDynproNamespace=sap.com/mss~ppro&WebDynproApplication=PositionProfileApp&DynamicParameter=sap.xss.popup%26sap.xss.menuhdr%3DSAPDEFAULT%26sap.xss.menusrv%3DMSS_OPRO_POSHOLDERS_TRGT_PPRO%26sap-epcm-guid%3D3CB76B26382863D7CE27ECFE78160E0B0C0C59637D21737B47C63BD9B01C53BA%26sap.xss.selectedObject%3Dsap.xss.sessionKey41&CurrentWindowId=WIDDefaultExternal1286460270340&NavMode=3
How is the destination Page changed so we can connect to standard content? Does it require FPM change, or is there another mechanism for determining it e.g. OBN, and if so, how can this be configured?
    Thanks in advance!
    David

    Thanks Siddharth!
From what I read, FPM applciations cover the internal iViews only (i.e. that wiki discusses the internal iViews).  What I am looking for is the outbound hook to an iView for another application (I guess this could be anything, but in this case it is the position profile).  However, I could understand how this is used.
As we don't have the SSA BP (yet) I would like to confirm this is the steps we would need to take?
    1. Is the information passed to the other link via the FPM application configuration like this?
    2. If not, how are those links generated?
    Thanks in advance,
    David

  • Error while assigning the user to orgunit and position

    Hi,
We are having the below issue :
    1.       Obtain the HR master record (P Ids) created by interface - ECC
    2.       Assign a valid user to this HR master record -ECC
    3.       Do the position/Org assignment against this P Id or personnel master record - ECC
    4.       Transfer the Org Id, then the position ID and then the personnel master ID (P Id) to SRM u2013 ECC
    5.       Check if the user is in SYNC in SRM  - Ideally he should inherit the mandatory parameters from the above Orgs in the structure without which he shall not be able to shop in SRM u2013 step executed in SRM
Please let us know if this process is as per the expectation.
If so, we are ending up with error in the third step where the assignment is not allowed since the personnel master record is created with prior date than the position and the Org units.
Actually we are getting the idoc with user alone from other system, org and position ids are blank. So we are assigning the user in the system and we are getting above error.
Is this the correct process to bring the users alone into the system and doing the position/organization assignment in ECC now?
Or the Idoc comes with this data as well?

Thank you vikas for your reply.
So we should bring all the data in the idoc(O,S,P). Even though O, S are present in the receiving sytem?

  • Problem PPOME - Organization and Staffing

    Hi Experts,
I have the following problems concerning Organization and Staffing interface :
    1) When trying to create a new Organization Unit or Position in the Basic Data Tab the Abbreviation and Description are lost, instead it keeps the standard ( like New org. unit   New Organizational Unit), although I can see the correct Abbreviation and Description in the Overview Area. It seems like a bug, but still couldn't find an appropriate note about it. My customer uses SAP ECC 6.0.
2)I would like to insert new tab pages in the Detail Area with custom pd infotypes. I managed to display one (through configuration in the Hierarchy Framework) but doesn't appear properly. Table T77OMTABUS looks like this :
    OME0     O     ACCNTNG             2     SAPLRHOMDETAIL_APPL
    OME0     O     ADDRESS             3     SAPLRHADDRESS

  • Difference in views "Organization and Staffing" & "Organization and Staffin

We are using the PPOME “Organization and Staffing” in a workflow for Role Resolution.
The Standard Role “0000157” (Superior –chief Position- ) is to be used, which will require a restructuring of the Org Structure.
    Therefore,  I need to know,
The difference between the two views  "Organization and Staffing" & "Organization and Staffing (workflow)",
and if these two views are synchronized.
And if there is difference between the two views then how to configure the view “"Organization and Staffing (workflow)" for using in the workflow.
    Regards,
    Khawaja  Bilal Sohaib.

One works on the structure created for the HR plan variant, the other works on the structure created for the workflow plan variant. Of course, in many (probably most) systems, these two variants are identical, so there will not be any visible difference.
<i>Message was edited by Kjetil Kilhavn:</i>
Sorry, I didn't notice that you had already decided that the question had been answered satisfactorily. Still, even if it solved your problem, the correct answer is that all those PP*W transactions work on structure for the workflow plan variant.
See also Re: Plan Version (you can use SM30 to add the table entry).

  • Job and Position Descriptions in ESS

    Hi all,
Does anyone know of a way of an employee accessing their Job and Position Descriptions from OM via ESS/MSS?
I can see that ESS is very usefull for dealing with the PA side of an employee, but find it hard to allow access to their own OM data.
Any tips or pointers on the subject would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards
    John Anderson

    Dear jmjakobsen,
We are implementing HR for a public Sector client, here we would like to use Positions as we are also implementing Purchasing. I am looking after the implementation of HRMS.Could you be able to help me on deciding on the Position KFF Structure.
We are using multiple segment position KFF.
My doubt is that if we use a multiple segment Position KFF, then what should be the Job KFF structure. Also, Our employees will be tagged at Departmental level and we are not capturing the multiple work-groups within the department.
How can we achieve the uniqueness of a position?
Will there be substantial work involved in creating unique Positions?
Thanks for the help, in advance

  • How to obtain position/profile in CIC0 programs.

We have a requirement where we need to allow restricted access to the CIC0 programs depending upon the position/profile with which the CIC0 was logged in. Is there any way by which we can know the profile/position in any of the CIC0 programs.

We already have profiles and assigned positions. While using CIC0, we get a pop-up which lists the positions assigned to a user and the user selects any one position to log in. After logging in, when the user accesses any program from the action box, we would like to add an authorization to check if the access to that program is allowed for that particular position. Here we need to read the position with which the user had logged in. Is there any database table, system variables, or FMs from which the current position can be read.

  • Position-Velocity-Time vs Position Profile

    Hello,
    I have a
question concerning the behavior of position profile and PVT contoured move.
    In the topic
“Position Profile-Motion Assistant Help file” says:
    “Position
profile moves give you maximum control over the position of the move …”.
    And in “Position/Velocity/Time
(PVT)-Motion Assistant Help file” it says “PVT moves give you maximum control
over the velocity of the move at certain times throughout the move.”
    So, it’s
correct to say that the position generated by a PVT based contoured move is “less
accurate” than the one generated by a position profile in respect to the
    original data points?
    If yes, is
there any way to know in advance maximum position error?

    Hello DJ L,
    The PVT
examples work fine. I’m using Motion Assistant 1.2.
    I’m trying
to do a 2D move that have 2 different velocity profiles. I only have XY
coordinates, the maximum cruise velocity and the maximum acceleration that my setup
supports. One profile is used for straight (or almost straight) moves and the
second at a much lower speed in curves.
    I think
that what is causing my problem is a constraint that is out of range like you
said. I managed to get a few points to be plotted by Motion Assistant. But the
resulting velocity profile is unacceptable for this application (see file
Profile1.png and PVT_Profile1.txt for data). Adjusting the time index by trial
and error I get a more appropriate velocity profile for my needs (see file
Profile2.png and PVT_Profile2.txt for data). The constraints for this
    application are:
    - Go to
the maximum cruise velocity in the least amount of time (given the maximum allowed
    acceleration).
    - Maintain this
cruise velocity with the minimum variation until the next change in velocity
    profile.
    - The XY
coordinates defines a cutting path, so distortions in position should be minimum.
    I’m looking
for a set of equations that could generate data in the PVT format that meet
this requirements and it should be possible to put this in C++ program because adjusting
and testing in Motion Assistant application would not be possible. Could you help me in developing those equations?
    The file “data_profile.xls”
is one real example and contains XY coordinates with the respective move
    constraints.

  • Logical system and partner profile configuration

    Hi,
I have a SQL server which is defined as a Business system in my landscape. It is sending records to ECC 6.0 which makes it a JDBC to IDOC scenario (inbound IDocs)
First question is do I have to mention a logical system name for the SQL server Business system too ?
Second question is do I create a Logical system in the ECC system (BD54/SALE) for the SQL system or would it be for the client of the ECC system itslef?
Third question is do I maintain partner profile configurations in WE20 for the SQL business system or for the ECC business system?
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers,
    S

    Hi Sam,
    > First question is do I have to mention a logical system name for the SQL server Business system too ?
Yes, In SLD You have to specify logical system name of the SQL server business system while creating SQL system. After importing business system into Integration directory,in Adepter-Specific Identifiers  you can see logical system name of SQL server business sytem which you defined in SLD.
    > Second question is do I create a Logical system in the ECC system (BD54/SALE) for the SQL system or would it be for the client of the ECC system itslef?
Yes,You have to create Logical system in ECC system for SQL system(Logical system name must be with the same name as logical system name you have given in XI SLD in previous question)
    > Third question is do I maintain partner profile configurations in WE20 for the SQL business system or for the ECC business system?
In WE20 You have to maintain partner profiles for SQL server Logical system
For example: If SQL server Business system name is SQLDEVBS and logical system name is SQLDEVLS
In ECC you have to create logical system as SQLDEVLS and
Partner profiles for SQLDEVLS in WE20.
Please let me know if you have any issues.
    Cheers,

  • Object Size and Position values not being retained

    Hi,
I'm trying to set the size and position of a picture object in a report. This logo, should appear on the top right corner of the report.
The margins of the report are Left - .79 in, Right - 0.79 in, Top - 0.79 in and Bottom - 0.39 in.
The size of the picture object should be 1.574 x 0.79 inches.
I have ensured that File -> Page Setup -> dimensions are in INCHES.
I right click the logo and select 'Size and Position'.
I set 'Y' (distance between top of object and top margin) = 0. This is to perfectly align the object with the top margin.
Now, i set the height of the object = 0.79 inches. Ok the dialog and close.
The strange thing happening is, when i re-open the size and position dialog, i see that the values i set are not being retained.
    0.79 becomes 0.810
    and
    0 become -0.010.
What am i doing wrong here? How can i make sure the values i specify in the size and position dialog are  retained.
    Thanks.

Make your grid size larger (.5 inches for example)
What is occurring (I suspect) is that your objects are snapping to the grid - thus changing the position and possibly size due to the Snap to Grid being turned on.
