MSS Performnace Management

Hello,
I am using MSS Performance management in EP 7. But on clicking on the link its displaying the below error. I have performed all the EP related configuration stuff for ESS/MSS and other iviews are working fine.

Hello Sarker,
for the issue you need to configure Performance management in R3 and we need to assign Org . Structure and define the level, assign manager role to mss user.

Dear Friends
How can we default a certain Appraisal Template in MSS Performance Management Status Overview. We currently have
Appriasal Templatate I ( Used in 2008)
Appriasal Templatate II ( Used in 2009)
Appriasal Templatate III ( Used in 2010)
In the drodpwn in MSS, it is showing us in the Ascending Order. Default one is always the first one (Appraisla Template I). Since it is year 2010, we want to default it to Appriasal Template III OR is there a way to sort them?

Good Day.
In standard, there is no any possibility to default an specif value for the template there. The values for the template are sorted in alphabetical order by default and the first value with be displayed there.

MSS Compensation Management - HRWPC_EVAL_PATH

Hi,
In the MSS Compensation Management,
I need to achieve the functionality which will allow the manager to view all employees under him/her except the employees which are direct reportees to Him/Her .
I am coding in the Function Module HRWPC_EVAL_PATH which is configured.
I am trying hard , but seems I need the correct guidenece.
I have tried by manualy populating Table RESULT_OBJEC, also tried as,
RESULT_OBJEC[] = ROOT_OBJEC[].
RESULT_STRUC[] = ROOT_STRUC[].
But still, I am unable to see any data on the portal.
Can you please guide me on the same.
If anyone has any clue or have developed the same functionality please guide or send me the code, I will try to get some logic out of it to fit to my requirement.

MSS Performance Management Error

Hi All,
I created MSS Performance Management iView in Portal. In this Page trying to create Appraisal Doucment and getting ESS Appraisal Docuemnt Page. Not getting Proformance Management Appraisal Page when clicking the button "Create".
I have done all the configurations as per SAP notes

In MSS Performance Management I am not getting error. While "Create" appraisal template through popup window getting ESS Appraisal Document window. It is pointing to this application HAP_START_PAGE_POWL_UI_ESS.
In SE80 , the create button pointing to "hap_main_document" application.
We need two iViews and I created new iViews for MSS - Performance Management(HAP_START_PAGE_POWL_UI_MSS) ,
Appraisal Documen(HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT).
In Portal , why it is pointing to ESS Appraisal Document. Is there any OBN to set?
We don't have HTTP trace in our Client Browser. Please help me out.

Portal MSS - Performance Management

In MSS, we are trying to use the Performance Management link. When we click the link, we get the following message:
Please execute the report "RHHAP_PMP_CONFIG_MOVE". (See Note 1497373)
We have implemented the note. We run the report and get the message:
"Move Predefined Template/Process Configuration
Nothing to move! "
What needs to be done to get the Performance Management to work?
We are trying to implement performance appraisals. Is the Performance management the right place?

Try to create a iview calling this webdynpro.

MSS Issue - Manager not able to see his subordinates.

Hello All,
I have an issue in ESS/MSS. The manager is not able to see his suordinate in MSS.
Scenario 1 - In 'A' org unit, there are many employees & one of them has been made as Chief position. In this scenario tha manager is able to see his subordinates.
Scenario 2 - In 'B' org unit there is only one position & he has been made as Chief in that org unit. In the strucutre there is no org unit which is under this org unit. But the realtionship S to S B002 (is line supervisor of) have been mainatined with many other positions. But these positions belongs to other org units. It means the positions who is reports to the other position are belongs to different org units.
In this 2nd scenario the manager not able to see his subordinates in MSS.
Hence can anybody explain why the manager not able to see his subordinates. Whether it is standard functionality or is their any settings in which this can be achieved.

In most of the iViews in MSS the evaluation paths used in the ODAP (Object and Data Provider) are based around the Organisational assignments. Typically for most iViews in MSS they follow the path:
Find Position of Manager
Find Org Units managed by that Position
Find all Positions within that Org Unit
Find employees in those positions.
i.e. they don't look at position-to-position relationships.
We had a situation similar to you where we didn't want this path following in all cases; you have to
1. create your own Evaluation Paths (T778A)
2. create new object selections and link them to new object view groups
Integration with Other mySAP.com Components > Business Packages / Functional Packages > Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP) > Object and Data Provider
3. assign the new view groups to the groupings in table V_PTREQ_TEAM.
There's quite a few steps, but once you get your head around what's happening it's not too bad - let me know if you need further details.

MSS - Performance Management Document (BSP HAP_DOCUMENT)

Hello everyone,
For some reason, when I click on MSS -> TEAM, and navigate to the Performance Management Document, nothing is showing on the browser.
Only the pale blue color, nothing else.
As a assigned manager role, I have 2 document to evaluate, and I click on the number 2. But as I said, only a new windows with the title "Performance Management Document" and pale blue color opens.
I know this uses the BSP HAP_DOCUMENT, it is activated.
What is missing?

MSS / ESS - Manager records absences/vacations?

Hi !
Is it possible for a Manager to record employees' vacations/absences in MSS (or ESS) on behalf on his employees. This is required where employees do not have access to computers.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Through SAP GUI for sure. I am not sure if this is provided from ESS/MSS.
If managers want to do this from Portal. A Transaction Iview can be created to key in absences, but there won't be any workflows behind the scene.

go to system admin->system configuration->go to BW system object which you have already created-->open that object-> go to User management---->   in this place first one should be Assertion Ticket & second one should be Logon ticket.
may be you had put it both options as a Logon ticket.
plz modify that one & check it..

ESS MSS Time Management: scenario without clock times (start/end) possible?

Implementing (negative) SAP HCM Time management with the WD Leave Request application we found that the clock times are always shown, for instance when requesting leave, scrolling over the leave calendar and in the leave approver's webdynpro.
The problem is that we are actually not interested in the begin and end-TIMES (hour started and hour ended) of any leave, other than the start and end DAY and the total number of hours taken off.
Is there a system setting where we can 'hide' the time/hours-fields in the entire leave request application (without having to analyze every single webdynpro gui elements etc.)? Anyone having experience with this kind of requirement? What did you do?

Given what you have to date this is one suggestion (more than 1 way to do this). I'm doing this from memory as I don't have system in front of me at the moment but should be spot on.
These steps are all sequential in SPRO under Time Evaluation > Without Clock Time > Time Data Processing
1). Create a new time type in V_T555A, call it ZOT1 - Overtime or whatever you like.
2). Define a Processing Type against your overtime attendance type V_554S_F - "P/T" Field, make it 09 for example
3). Next assign a processing type (the '09' you assigned to the attendance) and time type (ZOT1) in table T555Y
       - create a new entry in the table for your PSG & time type determination Group now using your P/T
       - Now in "PTyp 3" field which is used for assigning time types from IT2002 enter a Ptyp 3 of 'M' for overtime
       - In the "TTyp 3" field enter your new time type.
This will now generate a new time type and processing type TIP entry and leave your ordinary hours in tact.
Lastly you can define a rule in V_T510S for this particular time type to generate a overtime wage type.
There are other ways also, and maybe someone will post an alternative way - there is no 1 way only to do something in SAP.

Compensation management approval process in MSS

Hi,
What is the business logic behind SAP standard for compensation approval in MSS?
Manager A and manager B does compensation planning for their directly reporting employees and submits for approval.
Manager C also plans for his directly reporting employees (who are actually manager A and B) and submits for approval.
If manager A and B goes into compensation approval, they will not have anything to approve. That's fine.
If manager C enters compensation approval, he will have to approve all the employees submitted by manager A and B. That's also fine. But: He also have the employees he has been planning himself (manager A and B) on the list for approval. I do not find that very logical.... What is the SAP logic behind this???
I guess a customer function module could be used to solve the issue, but I know many of you have faced the same issue, so please share your knowledge on how you managed to get along, maybe even share the code?
If this is an issue for many of us, I also suggest to face SAP to have them provide some standard functionality to handle the issue. I will gladely be the driver on that.........

Comp plg is purely based on OADP ( obj and data provider) and the corresponding evaluation paths available in R/3 system.
Verify V_TWPC* tables in R/3 system, I think something is missing to avoid the A & B managers to view their staff.

Solution manager maintenance optimizer

Hi all,
I have what I think is an issue, and hoping someone could possibly point me in the direction to correct. I have setup our solution manager system and trying to get the maintenance optimizer option working fully. I have a java system that I pull the information from SLD perfectly fine, and it lists all installed software components via SMSY>SYSTEMS perfectly. I have assigned logical components etc. I can create a new maintenance optimizer transaction, select the proper system with assigned components, but when it lists the files to be downloaded automatically I expect to see alot more files available for download than it lists for me. I assume I am missing something, but not sure where to look.
Would anyone be able to possibly point me in the right direction on what I might be missing?

Development Plans functionality in Talent Management

Hello,
We are planning to use the Development Plans functionality in Talent Management.
But the Development Plan is not opening from MSS. (MSS -> Talent management -> Assessment -> Development Plan).
I had created the Business partner object for all my test PERNRs and I had created a Development Plan Template (via IMG step in Talent management). I had activated the Business Functions and Services.
When I open the Development plan in MSS, it is showing the names of employees (i.e. the reports of the manager). But when I click on an employee, it's not opening any development plan. Nothing is happening.

Hi Bharti,
You must first delete the template names from the customizing tables where it is stored (under Talent Assessment node of Talent Management and Talent Development). Then you delete it under PHAP_CATALOG. Unfortunately you have created an databse inconsistency and you might need to see if Basis can delete the values from the table.

Part appraisals as part of OSA Status Overview in MSS?

Hi,
I'm in the middle of a clarification phase regarding implementation of Objective Setting and Appraisal (OSA). This is my question regarding part appraisals:
In the Status Overview page/iview in MSS, the manager can prepare, see, select and modify documents with statuses like In preparation, In Planning and In Process.
If a document has the substatus "Part appraisal in process", and the manager is the first part appraiser, I would expect the document to open the part appraisal column for input when I select the document from the "In Process" column. Instead the document is opened with the Final Appraisal column open for input.
How can you include a managers part appraisal documents in the Status Overview page, or have the part appraisal column open for input?
We want to make the Status Overview the "one point of access" for the managers appraisal tasks, but is that possible within standard?

Hi Henrik,
Is your issue resolved, we did notice the similar behavior. However if BSP application HAP_DOCUMENT/documents_todo.htm is called directly, it displays the Part appraisal first and then upon completion it displays Final appraisal.
I plan on providing this as URL in MSS as an alternative till OSS status overview is fixed.
Any info ?

Release Employee Information-MSS for a number of employees

Hi,
Through the Release Employee Information in MSS, a manager can grant access of an employee's record to another manager.
There is a requirement where in a Manager can grant access of many employees to a manager at one go.
Is this possible.
