MSS Phone List iView (MSS 60.1.5 Java Version)

Hi,
I have downloaded the Phone List iView from deployment on portal. When i open that par file with Netweaver Developer Studio it doesnt have any source code in it. Can anybody tell me how to modify it?? Am i doing right thing here.???

You will have to change the Infoset /SAPQUERY/HR_ADM. The Telephone Number field is p0006-TELNR. As this is a std field, you may not be able to change the length. you should probably put in an additional field with the reqd legth, in the Infoset & add code for that field to display the Tel No. Remove the P0006-TELNR form the Infoset Selections.

You can see it in the iView Properties (Type/transaction etc) under Content Admin in the Portal.

Hi,
The task list in MSS is technically Universal Work List in Portal.The UWL connects to the backend which acts as a provider system.The task does not disappear immediately because the request to process the task does not go immediately to the backend from Portal.The frequency of refreshing Portal UWL from backend can be configured in Portal under System Administration -> System Configuration -> Universal Work List Administration.

And do understand that only changing portal configuration or configuring delta pull for UWL may not solve the problem.
It depends on how fast the backend can process the UWL tasks.

Cuatomizing MSS Team Calendar iView on the Portal

We have installed the ESS And MSS Business package. But we are unable to access the MSS Team Calendar.
The error message is:
No views found: Missing customizing.
Please advice. Is there a how to guide?

MSS Start Process iView

Hi,
Can we skip the first step "Employee Selection" and move directly to the "Process Selection" in the "Start Process" iview with MSS 1.0.
If this can be done, Can you please let me know how to skip the Employee selection step.

Nice to see your reply, i went to the table V_T5ASRPROCVALID but i haven't seen any of the below process
Change Employee Group and Subgroup
Change Personnel Area and Subarea
Request for Internal Transfer (Enhanced)
Request for Promotion
Request for Internal Transfer
Request for Separation
Request for Special Payment
Request for Transfer
Change of Working Time
in that table, i want to remove the above process from MSS Start Process iView and you mention feature for this, if you have any idea about that feature please let me know.

MSS Task list

Hi ,
The employee is getting his own leave request in his MSS task list . I am not able to determine why the leave request is not going to his approver which is defined correctly in the org structure.
Your help is appreciated

Leave request can be routed to self also, It depends upon your customisation
Check PTARq> Determine approver for this employee?
Also check your customisation for the rule group to determine the approver is it set to last agent or line manager?

ESS/MSS in ECC 6.0 are Abap or Java WebDynpro ?

We are on ECC5.0 and have ESS/MSS on Java WebDynpro . For ECC6.0 are ESS/MSS in ECC 6.0 are Abap or Java WebDynpro compoment ?
Any watch out when updrading from ECC5.0 to ECC6.0 ?

in ECC 6.0, ESS/MSS are WebDynpro Java calling ABAP backend function modules. However, be careful, there is a switch that enables SOME ESS services as ABAP WebDynpro (Especially in the Travel management area). Unless you use that switch all services are WebDynpro Java.
when upgrading from ECC5.0 to ECC 6.0 you need to test again all ESS/MSS services. In ECC5.0, services are written as Portal iViews, so customizations you made to ESS in ECC5.0 may be lost.

I have the iPhone 5 and have with 6.0.1 software version. Although I had them when I moved from iPhone 4 to the 5, the latest update has most of my songs on the phone listed in grey (over 95% of them) and I can't play them. They are still listed though.

They are still listed in the iTunes library. When I look in the Summary for the iPhone, it shows Audio as only .16 GB - I have over 5 GB of songs, so what gives?
P.S. When I look at my Playlists most of the songs are greyed out. However, at the bottom of the list there is a cloud icon with a downward facing arrow. When I click on it each song starts to "load" and after a few minutes I have the songs back on in the list. I have to do this to all my playlists (I had over 100) in order to get access to all my songs. Then I did a sync and it happened again!
I use iCloud for documents and some other things (calendar, contact, etc.) but am not aware that I have anything music-wise in the cloud. Any thougnts?

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

It is possible to retrieve contacts from the iPhone's backup by another iPhone.
Although contacts are included with the iPhone's backup, contacts are designed to be synced with a supported address book app on your computer. Not a good idea to depend on an iPhone or any cell phone alone for contacts, which can be lost or stolen, or could be damaged beyond repair by accident.
Not having your contacts available in an address book app on your computer and depending on a cell phone alone for your contacts is really bad - dumb is more like it.

Where Web Dynpro Java version of Adobe Forms are used in ESS MSS

Hi, SDN Expert.
I am working on research the use of Adobe Interactive Forms in the current processes of HCM ESS MSS.
We are on ECC5.0, EP7.0, and ESS MSS SP21. We are in the midst of upgrading to ECC6.0.
Do you know where Web Dynpro Java version of Adobe Forms are used in ESS MSS are used? OR are they all in Web DYnpro ABAP version in ECC6.0?

How do I get my bluettoth to recognize my phone contacts (phone list).

My new 4s will sync to my 2010 Toyota Tundra but bluetooth will not recognize my phone list. I can dial a number or select a contact by touching the number on my iphone but I cannot speak the name only It tells me that there is no names in my contact list. Not true!!

Talk to Toyota. The bluetooth system needs to support the PBAP Bluetooth profile.

Contact phone list in Nokia 6555

I just upgraded my 2 LG1400 phones that I had for 3 years to 2 Nokia 6555s & am suppossed to receive them tomorrow by FedEX.
In the LG1400, you had an option of keeping your Contact phone list either on the Sim card or in the phone itself.
I preferred keeping them only in the phone because it allowed you to list several phone numbers for each contact.
However, since it was not saved on the Sim card, all of your contacts were lost if you ever had to remove your Sim card for whatever reason (which returned the phone to its inital state each time).
Saving the list to the Sim card was much safer, but it made you enter a different contact for each phone number of a particular contact. i.e.- if 1 contact had 3 phone numbers, it required 3 separate entries.
QUESTIONs are: Does the Nokia 6555 work the same?
Which method have you found works best for you?

UPDATE:
This morning (Thursday 5-8-08), I went to the local AT&T Mobility store.
They said they COULD transfer my contact list from my old LG1400 to my new Nokia 6555 using a cable they had that would connect both phones together.
But, before she went to the back to get the cable, she said she would try something even more simple.
She took the SIM card out of my old LG1400 & put it in my new Nokia 6555.
LO & BEHOLD, it accepted it!!!!!!
Then she merely copied my contact list off of the LG1400 SIM card to the phone memory of the Nokia 6555. Then she put back the Nokia 6555 SIM card back into the Nokia 6555 and merely copied the contact list from the phone memory of the Nokia 6555 to the SIM card of the Nokia 6555.
ALL WENT PERFECTLY!!!!
I now have the contact list from my old LG1400 in two places in the Nokia 6555: In the phone memory AND on the SIM card.
Of course, that now means that every entry in my contact list shows up twice. But, I can easily cure that by deleting the contact list from my phone memory & leaving it only on the SIM card.
Since my contact list on my old LG1400 was only on the SIM card, that is where I think I will leave it for a while.
LATER, I expect to take each contact one at a time & transfer each to the phone memory which would enable me to list the various telephone numbers for each contact. That would decrease the number of items in my contact list since most of my contacts have more than 1 telephone number.
