MSS / Portal Errors
Hi experts,
Got a strange issue on here, hope somebody can help me.
We have 2 portals which exactly the same pointing to 2 qa clients, one a training and one a QA system. Both clients are on the same back end system.
When trying to input an appraisal entry in the training system this error occurs: -
com.sap.aii.proxy.framework.core.BaseProxyException: Screen output without connection to user., error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
and in st22 on the r3 side we get the error: -
Runtime Error DYNPRO_SEND_IN_BACKGROUND
Occurred on 06.02.2008 at 10:51:17
Error analysis
During background processing, the system attempted to send a
screen to a user.
Current screen: "SAPLSTRD " 0351.
When pointing to the other portal all works fine, only occurs on the portal.
Any ideas???
Thans
Nick
How we got it to work was to change the client setting in scc4. The client was changed from "no changes allowed" to "changes without automatic recording".
This isn't the SAP recommened setting, and the live works fine with "no changes allowed." ... but with its being the training client i'll not lose any sleep over changing that.

MSS PORTAL - RUN TIME ERROR WHEN EXECUTING A WORK ITEM IN UWL
Hi all,
I've a requirement wherein I need to have a custom screen in place of 'standard user decision' task in the UWL of MSS portal. I've developed a custom screen with Approve and Reject buttons and it works fine if I execute the work item from SAP inbox whereas in portal (UWL), it gives a run time error stating,
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing your request
Exception id: 10:56_12/05/08_0020_509163550.
I'm sure that this error is due to missing configuration between the dynpro and the Portal. All inputs in this regard will be of great help and will be valuable to me.
Thanks in advance,
Bharathi.Hi
Looking at the error message I feel like there is something wrong in the task object and object method. You are using a class in the task make sure that class has the IF_WORKFLOW. Mak sure the task is enabled with synchronous task method check box.

ECM MSS Recalculate Error?
Anyone come across this problem or know of a resolution? It is in the ECM 5.0 using MSS portal in the Enterprise Compensation management planning screen
If you enter in the % for an employee and click on recalculate, it calculate the amount fine.
However, if I enter in the amount and click on recalculate, it gives me a dump saying "Inconsistency..." error...
I can't figure out what config settting is cauing is...Hi,
I had raised an OSS ticket for this recalculation issue in ECM.
OSS found a bug in the program code & they have included the fix in the latest patch.
So to fix this issue, you need to apply the latest service pactch from SAP.
Here is where you can download the patch.
http://service.sap.com/swdc
> Downloads > SAP Support Packages > Entry by Application Group > SAP
Application Components > SAP ERP > SAP ERP 2005 > Entry by Component >

Hope this help you guys.

Try to repeat PostInstallation steps for BI Java(Netweaver Administrator - Deploy and Change - Configuration Wizard - BI-Java / Technical configuration of BI-Java (repeatable, reproducible)).
Or you can only try to maintain JCo Destinations, but it is included in step mentioned above.

Hi folks,
We have a QA environment or the MSS-Portal running, linked to our R/3 QA system. It's working fine. Since we are preparing some tests for an SAP Upgrade phase, we need to link the MSS-Portal to a new R/3 server.
The basis guys created a new Portal connector, but it seems that additional settings are required since the iViews are still showing information from the original R/3 system. Also, if I create an ISR, the information is shown through IQS8 in the original R/3, not the new one.
Help on "what" and "how" to configure/change settings will be appreciated.
Thanks!!Andrey :
You may also want to check 'Jco Destination' to make sure the connection is actually linked to the new SAP R3 system instead of the old one.

Working with the Portal Error Stack in PL/SQL
Hi,
In brief, this is a question about the persistence of errors on the stack, as they appear to disappear without warning. Any help would be appreciated, if you'd like background, read on.
I'm writing PL/SQL web applications and as ever one of the required tasks is user validation.
I have a form on a page which submits directly to a stored procedure. If the validation within the proc is ok, the value(s) get inserted into a DB table and the user gets directed to another Portal page. If there is a user input error then the code reloads the original page (via redirect) with the necessary errors displayed.
I used to use the Session storage to hold any error messages and then check to see if any errors existed at the point of page redirection, and this worked fine.
Now that I figure that I should do the job properly and use Portals' error stack, everything falls over!
It would seem that between moving from one page to another any values held in the stack are lost, yet I know they are definitely getting put there in the first place as I can view them, as long as I don't redirect the Portal page.
Any ideas??
Thanks in advance.
Dan1.) Create a hidden item on your page.
2.) In your Page Rendering PL/SQL Process add logic which assigns 'EDIT' or 'NO_EDIT' to the hidden item.
3.) Create a "Message" HTML region which conditionally displays based of the value of your hidden item being 'NO_EDIT'.
4.) Make your edit field conditionally Read Only based on the value of your hidden item being 'NO_EDIT'.
There may be an easier way but I got this to work

Hi all,
We are using EP 7.0 as front end and ECC 6.0 as back end .
We are often getting iview runtime error and TEA portal error, due to which link is not opened for the end users, so as recommeded by SAP ,every week end we are restarting the Portal server .
Is the any other solution to resolve this issue , without restarting the server.
Is it issue with GC , if so could you please provide me useful notes to resolve this issue.
Kindlu suggest us hereHi Tharun,

EricActually the two error page shown occurs when the page is not found in the portal builder(Object not found) or the user is not allowed to access the page(do not have permission to perform..). These error page are shown automatically by oracle portal. I like to know where these error page is shown in oracle portal so that i can edit the page to suit my needs like change the header etc.
I went to the sample error page to edit but the change was not reflected in the two error pages above so these two error pages might be stored in some location such that when either object not found or no permission, the error pages are reflected in the webpage. -

MSS iView Error To display data, first select an employee
I have configured a MSS portal role with an employee page. The employee search (team viewer) iView is on the page with general data, salary data, and salary development. For some reason, the salary data iView gives the message "To display data, first select an employee". The other iViews on the page work ok. Any idea what's causing that?
Hello,
The reason why the table is not being displayed is because of the currency you're using. The currency which
you might be populated from the backend is 2 character. I'm not sure if there is any currency code with two characters in the backend System. The standard should be having 3 character.
