*** MSS - Related Activites ***

Hello Experts,
In my client most of the employees do not have desktops. Based on this scenario, the company has decided to use, for a while, only the MSS for the managers make adjustments on behalf of the employee, so we decided to use Related Activites for Iviews Clock-in/out corrections and Leave Requets and I do not know how to set up it on SAP side. Do you guys know what the activities I need to do on IMG node Homepage Framework?
Thanks,

  • Add custom WD ABAP application to MSS related activities

    Hi Experts,
I try to add a custom WD ABAP application to the related activities of our managers. Please could you tell me exactly what I have to do to achieve this? I've found many threads on SDN about this topic but I was not able to implement a working solution. Here's what I've done so far :
    1. create a WDJ iView using the RelatedActivitiesLauncherApp application and Service ID Z_SERVICE (is this the id of the service we create at step 3 or the name of the ICF service corresponding to my WDA app? what should I put in the object name field?)
    2. create a new resource Z_RESOURCE with URL of PCD page = id of iView created at step 1 (which format should I use : "pcd:portal_content..." or something like "ROLES://portal_content..." ?)
    3. create a new service Z_SERVICE (same id used at step 1) and indicates service type = WD ABAP and resource = Z_RESOURCE (created at step 2)
    4. assign service Z_SERVICE to subarea MSS_HCM_SUB_RELATEDACTIVITY_ESS
I'm able to see the new link in the related activities but my WDA app is not launched when I click on it.

    Pierre

Well, here's a quote from another thread (MSS - General Information - Related Activities Links persnr.) :
    Hello Joeri,
to integrate a WDA application into the related links area you have to perform the following tasks:
1.) The Service called from the related links area has to be a service/iview based on the WDJ application "sap.com/mss~hras/RelatedActivitiesLauncherApp". This iview has a property in category "Self Services" named "Service-ID". Here you pass the Homepage Framework Service ID from your custom WDA application.
2.) Your WDA application needs to retrieve the pernr the WDJ Starter application "sap.com/mss~hras/RelatedActivitiesLauncherApp" has stored in the ABAP memory in your Backend. You do this with the Functionmodules from Functionmodulegroup "HRASR00_WDA_SET_GET_DATA". The Pernr Memory Id is "MSS01" if i remember right.
Thats it. I hope it does help.
Anyway... I've created a Web Dynpo Abap iView as you suggested and everything works fine. Now I just have to find a way to find out which employee is selected in my WDA app.
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Pierre

  • ESS-in-MSS / related activities

I have added a Webdynpro APAB application to the Related Activities link list under General Information. I need the link to work like the ones provided by SAP, so that the info of the selected employee is passed to the called application.
How is the id of chosen employee passed to WDA application in this case?

Yes, it's also possible with WDA, but i think additional knowledge is required...
Anyway... here there is a good example code:

  • Record working Time link in General Related Activities iView

    Hello Gurus,
In the MSS Related Activities iView we have a link to navigate to Record Working TIme iView, but when I click on that link it is pointing to the production portal but I am testing in the development environment.
So please any one help he me out whether do we have to maintain any URL.
When I click Timesheet I can see the list of employees in employee search area and information in general section but when I click on the record working time link in the related activities area portal redirects me to the production portal URL and displays the production portal login screen. Please help me out in resolving the issue.

Hmm this is interesting. Guess that's reason even when i am trying to call pdc location of iview  "Record Working Time" it is unable to load fpm application based changes and some of personalizations.
Wondering if there is any way to generate or find absolute path to run these application, as they are running on Portal(it works just fine when i launch from my ESS role).
http watch was not great help..

  • Error in self service for my employee - Related Activities in MSS

    Hi,
    NW2004s SP9  EP7.0 ECC 6.0
we are trying to implement the self service for my employee in related activites functinality from the general information of team workset ( Team --> General informatio --> Related activities --> Self service for my employee ) in MSS which is a replicaiton of ESS in MSS functionality from the previous versions.
    When
I click on any of the options like Personal data or Addresses it gives me a blank page with no information on it. (It does give a DONE message with error/warning message on the status bar of Internet explorer. The error message says getactivetrackingEntryValue() is null)
Do I need to do anything to get this page working. I do not see any config related to this.
    Appreciate any inputs.
    regards
    sam

    James,
I think the note refers to note been able to display the general infromation iView itself. I have implemented the note and am able to see the genral information iView. My issue is I am not able to perform "Self service for my employees" in "related activities" iView.
Thank for you reply and correct me if I am wrong.
Sanjay, I have raised the issue with SAP, in the mean while if you can please let me know the patches or a list of them that are requried thyat would be awesome. Sorry for asking you this, but the basis team here asks to tell them what is requried even though I do not have sufficient authorizations to check them.
Appreciate you help on the same.
    regards

  • MSS - General Information - authorisations with Related Activities Links -

    Hello,
We implemented related activities links on the MSS portal. We can see the links, but when we click on it, nothing happens, the iview (JAVA dynpro) is not executed.
I checked the monitoring, and I noticed an authorisation problem with this service : sap.com/mss~eepro/GeneralInformation.
It's been few days I am looking for where add this authorisation... could you help me ?
    Thank you.
    Nick

Can you paste the exact error trace from Monitoring....
However, required authorizations could be given at :
    System Administration -> Permissions ->
and then below path in PCD
    pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/srvconfig
    I think exact is
    pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/srvconfig/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.mss/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.eepro/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.fpmapplications/com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.GeneralInformation
However there could be an authorization problem with R/3 end.....
So please add informative part from Monitoring to this thread....

  • WD ABAP Iviews under Related Activities

    Hi,
I am trying to include standard WD ABAP Iview under ESS in MSS under Team Workset. However it is not working the same way as WD Java Iviews does. Instaed of picking selected Employee's page, it is displaying Manager's page. I have also maintained PCD which starts with EXROLES. Still it is not working. I have been trying for Travel Request WD ABAP Iview.
So could anybody please let me know as to how to resolve this.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
In order to retrieve the selected pernr, you have to create a Web Dynpro Java iView, a resource and a service as explained in this topic : MSS - General Information - Related Activities Links persnr.
    1. create a Web Dynpro Java iView using the mss~hras RelatedActivitiesLauncherApp application then open the iView and indicate the name of the service corresponding to your Web Dynpro Abap application.
    2. create a new resource and indicate the id of the Web Dynpro Java iView (ROLES://portal_content...) in the URL of PCD page field
    3. create a new service (service type Web Dynpro Java) and link it to the resource you just created
    4. assign the new service to the subarea

  • Related activities and new webdynpro abap

    Hi, Experts,
I have to include an webdynpro abap as a link in the related activities (MSS). All the custo is doing (areas, services, etc), but i don't know how to recover the correct pernr for the employee in the abap source code.
    Do anyone know it?

    Hi,
There is a big difference if you want an employee number of the current user or some other employee that the manager has selected in MSS in some other web dynpro application.
If you just need to find the employee number of the current user, that's easy. You can for example use function HR_GETEMPLOYEEDATA_FROMUSER, or just get it from table PA0105 (infotype 105, subtype 0001).
Anyhow, if there is a need for you to get the selected employee from other component in the portal page, and especially if the other component is standard Java Web Dynpro component, things get much more complicated. You need to catch a portal event. But probably you are after something that my first suggestion would help?

  • How to control a reference type of BAM Relation to see Related Activites on BAM Portal?

    Hi.
    There is
description of predefined reference types of BAM relations.
I have created relation between two activities by adding Relationship node to one of them (to an activity that is tracking detailed orchestration). Both activity are declared in one definition file. I put InterchangeId field to Relationship
node and  it is working. (InterchangeId also is used as ActivityId in "master" activity), I see in CompletedRelationships table the record
    ActivityID
    ReferenceName
    ReferenceData
    ReferenceType
    LongReferenceData
    ReferenceDataExtend
    cbc05eca-a8ae-4f68-869f-38c8fa55864c
    [MasterActivityName]
    29c0310f-bb12-4f85-8362-26995b8c1544
    Activity
    NULL
And I can see it in Related Activities section on BAM Portal.
But when I create Relationship in "master" activity and put MessageId to this node (and this MessageId is ActivityId in "detailed" orchestration) then in ActiveRelationships table I see
    ActivityID
    ReferenceName
    ReferenceData
    ReferenceType
    LongReferenceData
    ReferenceDataExtend
    8a2aba6a-4ddb-4932-87d2-f55e33464dcd
    [servername];BizTalkMgmtDb;[DetailActivityName]
    29c0310fcf89ad21-94cd-40e3-b90a-3bdd40e9edad
    MessageId
    NULL
As you can see there is difference in ReferenceName and ReferenceType columns. And it doesn't appear in Related Activities section.
How can I use MessageId as key for relation but have type "Activity" instead of "MessageId"?
I found by experiment If I update this two columns (cut off [servername];BizTalkMgmtDb; from the first one and replace MessageID by Activity for second) then it appear in Related Activities section.
Thank you in advance for reply!

  • HCM Forms and Related activities

    Hi,
I have configured the search process for HCM forms in related activities. Although the process is working fine i am having two issues.
    1. when i click on search process it opens in a new window and launches another window to display the "display_process" iview, so there are 2 popup windows. Can we make the display process iview to open in the first popup window which is the related activities launcher.
    2. when i click on the search process link for the first time the initial pernr is passed to it. When i click on another pernr in the employee search iview and click on the search process link, it still uses the old pernr. if i wait for 5 mins and then click on the search process iview, it displays the correct pernr. I think there is a delay in refreshing the shared memory area for holding the pernr. is this a known issue?
    Thanks,
    Anand

    Hi Siddharth,
I have done the configuration for related activities and used the "Related activities launcher" to lauch the "Search process" page (com.sap.pct.erp.hradmin.11.show_processes). This is working fine.
When i click on the link (Search Process) in related activities for HCM Forms, a popup window appears for the search process page and it launches another popup window which displays the "Display Process" screen. is this the standard behaviour?
The first popup window title is "Related activities launcher (search Process)" and the second popup window title is "Display Processes"
If not how to display the "Display process" screen within the first popup window.
    ==============
The personnel number form Employee Search is not passed to the Search process iview until i refresh the related activities iview. Is this a known issue or am I missing any configuration.
    Thanks,
    Anand

  • MSS Related links area page

    Hi,
I would like to know what is the pernr passed to the MSS related links area page in the team overview application? is it the manager's pernr or the selected employee's pernr (from the list of reporting employees) i have a requirement to make the related links area page dynamic based on employee's and manager's country and also based on page i am in i.e. 'General information' 'Compensation information'. Any inputs? i am plannig to use proxy class but the problem is how will i decide which page from MSS it is in and also will the selected employee's pernr be available to the Framework to write the logic in proxy class?
    Regards,
    Consultant ERP

    Hi check this
Function modules of the function group HRWPC_OADP_UI are used inside this application,
you can tewak this however you want and create a custom one out of this as required.
That iView displays the employees who are in the manageru2019s area of responsibility, that is
employees who report either directly or indirectly to the manager.
The display is based on the SAP application component Organizational Management.
You can provide the manager with various display options in this iView.
To do this, you make the relevant Customizing settings in the backend system  and in the iView properties The manager can also filter the data that is displayed.
    Cheers!!
    SJ.

  • Related Activities

When clicking on the related activities button on the BP screen, the results take between 15-20 seconds to come up regardless of the number of activities for the business partner.  Even if there are no activities, the user has to wait to get the results.  We are running version SAP BUsiness One 2007A (8.00.181)  SP:00  PL:49.
Any ideas on how to make this run faster?  Response time in the system is fine otherwise.

    Hi Gary......
    Do you have VPN Connectivity?
Just Ping to the server from your client PC and try to detect the Speed How much MiliSeconds it is showing. If it is very high then obviously your Speed is slow and you need to make your network speed by increasing Bandwidth......
    Please check your speed.....

  • Mac OS X Lion freezes often in help related activities

Hello, Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 freezes often on my 13-inch, Mid 2009 MacBook Pro. It seems it's (almost) always related to some activities with help system - it mostly happens when I use search input field in Help menu of any application or sometimes if system help viewer is opened.
The freeze is little bit strange. Typical symptoms are
mouse doesn't freeze, but cursor changes to spinning wheel when it's placed over application which caused freeze
frozen application doesn't respond to any input
it's possible to switch to another application with mouse or keyboard shortcut
any other application appears to be working correctly (mouse cursor is not spinning wheel at least), but UI interactions (with mouse or keyboard) get it to the same state as described above
applications can't be forced to quit, even with keyboard shortcut
finally, all applications and OS X freezes, mouse cursor still moves (even using Magic mouse), but nothing works anymore. Only solution is to switch MacBook off and on
I tried to delete Caches/* in /Library and ~/Library, but it didn't help. My MacBook is upgraded to 8 GB RAM with Kingston DDR3 modules (choosed via Kingston compatibility tool) and Kingston SSDNow V200 Series 256GB SSD disk (trim enabled with Trim Enabler). Crashes are probably not related to RAM upgrade, but it may relate with SSD installation (but I'm not sure when they appeared first).
Freezes almost don't happen in other situations than described.
Any ideas what could cause these problems? Thank you.

I am having similar problem with my machine, a Mac Pro (1,1) with Kingston V200 256GB SSD installed. It is fairly random when it chooses to freeze up, and you described it exactly-- I can still move the mouse and select programs, but nothing is happening, requiring me to do a hard reboot. I have noticed the past few instances it seems the trigger might have been an unattended alert box from Apple Mail (asking for a password) which I didn't see until getting home from work, so it could have been sitting there for hours. Not addressing the alert box holds up all the other Mail processes and I guess it just snowballs (?)
Anyways, I'm thinking the problem is this particular Kingston SSD (the V200). I have another Kingston SSD (the SSDNow V Series SNV425-S2/128GB) which I was using as the boot drive and it has worked flawlessly since I installed it. Later, I got a good deal on the V200 and decided to use it as a secondary drive to hold my working data, for things such as my huge iPhoto library file. Not long after installing the V200 I noticed the problems starting, and after a lot of troubleshooting I noticed this pattern with iPhoto:
If I had just booted up and was using the computer actively and then launched iPhoto, everything was fine. If the computer went idle for a while and then I launched iPhoto, I would get an error about it not being able to write to the iPhoto library (remember the library was housed on the V200). After many trial and errors I found that the solution to this was to use Disk Utility and unmount the V200 (sometimes having to force eject it), then remount it, and then I could run iPhoto fine.
And then of course there were times when I was just trying to browse the V200 in the Finder and it would cause the system freeze as described above. It seems like the drive somehow goes to sleep and then you just can't get it to wake up and it causes all sorts of problem. Whenever I have to hard reboot I run FSCK in single user mode, and I've been getting this error notice a lot:
    AppleAHCIDiskQueueManager::setPowerState(0x1c7b1600, 1 ->2) timed out after 100892 ms
    SATA WARNING: Enable auto-activate failed.
However, it will finish the disk check and say the disk is OK, with that "File System was Modified" note. Then when I run the check again it goes through with no problems.
I ended up doing a warranty exchange with Kingston and got a new replacement drive (as opposed to them refurbishing the drive I sent in). I am now using the new V200 as the boot drive, which is turning out to be a bad idea, but I kind of wanted to test it out.
I read on this forum that it might have been my Icy Dock adapter case, which is used to fit the SSD into the Mac Pro hard drive sled, perhaps a faulty case causing the problems. But when I installed the replacement drive I nixed the Icy Dock and have it directly connected, and the problems still remain. I had used TRIM enabler at one point but turned it off long ago to troubleshoot, so I don't think that affects this problem.
Incidently, while I was waiting for Kingston to send back the replacement V200, I was using an external firewire drive in its place as a secondary data drive (ie. the drive housing my iPhoto library) and never had any problems or freezes.
So that's my woes. I can't pinpoint it exactly or definitively but the evidence I have points to something screwy with this particular Kingston SSD model. I am going to contact them again and see about returning it for a refund. If anyone has any helpful information or insight I'd appreciate the info.
