MSS-short profile N/A

Dear Experts,
I am facing an issue in MSS under the workset "Organization" for the services "organization" and "position" profile
when i am selecting the "organization profile" and the data for short profile is displayed as N/A.
I did the configuraion in org chart for mss in ECC.
Please find the attached screen shot of the issue and help me to resolve it.

Just to let you know, sequence numbers should be maintained correctly Following is the path in the IMG: Personnel Management->manager self-service (Web Dynpro ABAP )->Profile Applications->Configure Short profile-> create configuration with field groups. In this Customizing activity, you specify how user interfaces that comprise groups of fields are displayed in Manager Self-Service (WDA). Under this entry you can see the fields being assigned. Here the fields has to be maintained in sequencial order. (i.e) number it correctly. However in your case there are two entries maintained with the same number. Please refer to the attachment for the details. In general, the system assumes the sequential number are maintained. The system builds the UI dynamically and the label names are named against the squence numbers . You can debug from here Program RP_MSS_LAUNCH_PROFILE V_T77TMCDRCNFFLD_GRP

How to intergrate customer short profile into employee profile page MSS WDA

Hi
I have created a z version of SAP_MSS_General_profile and amended some the fieids contained within.
I can't see where this is referred to in the employee profile application in order to get it to refer to the non-standard version.

Yes I did eventually!
I had delve right down into the component configuration for the employee profile. We have "z" versions of everything so via SE80 I went to the configuration of the application configuration zhrmss_emp_over_profile (of the web dynpro applications hrmss_emp_over_profile). From within this configuration I wnet into the change mode of the component configuration zhrmss_emp_overview_profile_oif.
On this configuration screen there is another button which says change from which there is a sub-menu - one of the items of which is "global settings". On the global settings screen there is an option to change the short profile from the default setting of "HRMSS_SHORT_PROFILE_CONF"
I have also found it useful when trying to change other parameters to drill down in the PCD into our role right down to the iview properties in which parameters are often passed such as ROLE and INSTANCE etc and allocate "z" values there.

PDFs not created using Acrobat fail to read in PB20 short profile

In our ECC system, when trying to read an applicant resume in PB20 (Short Profile->ArchiveLink Object Hit List), we get an error when trying to load someone's resume in which the resume that is saved as a PDF but created in something other than Acrobat (Example: MS Word-->Save as PDF):
In SDV--> "The file is damaged and could not be repaired"
Can anyone offer any suggestions as how to fix this?

Well, I tried a quick test of the Save As Excel and also Word and the conversion replaces hyphens with bullets; -$20,083.86 becomes •$20,083.86 and 18-JUN-2013 becomes 18•JUN•2013
I can work with this if I have to, but it certainly is a cludgy approach.
Do you happen to know if there's a routine in the VB-accessible SDK that allows me to fetch a block of text without any parsing by the SDK? That is, if I could read the contents of the PDF as a stream of characters and do my own parsing, perhaps I could see the hyphens.

Hello Luca,
unfortunatelly it wont work. A WDA Application does not have access to the Floorplan Manager for XSS Applications. So until SAP develop an interface, you have to stick for such a task to WDJ.

ABAP HR enhancement for Short profile in PB20 or PB30

Hello gurus,
I am trying to display shortprofile in trnsaction PB20 and PB30.
Here values are coming but I want to know from where and how this values are coming as I need to display some extra text for this.
Here requirement is there is some short profile field on portal application and I need to display this text in R3 when user clicks on that short profile button on application bar of PB20 or PB30 screen.
I need some enhancement like I can read table and display this extra text with this coming values as well.
Can any anybody please explain how can I make this possible?

I have resolved it my self,
I have enhanced all standared infotypes as per my requirement and this infotype is getting called in this short profile code.
There is no other option.

PB30 Short Profile enhancement problem

Hi Experts,
If you go to the PB30 Tcode there is a tab for applicant short profile..named just 'short profile'.When you hit that, it shows all the details of the applicant which you have entered from T code PB10 which is Initial entry of applicant master data.
On this short profile screen I need to enhance it with an additional field PERNR which is the personel number which is currently non existing.The output of this screen seems to be coming from a Script which I am not able to identify yet.When I dig into the code It leads me to SAPMSSCD mainline and there is some heavy logic for getting the output onto the screen using an OTF table.I am really not able to figure out how and where do I get this new field to populate in the OTF table with the existing logic..or do I need to modify the inbuilt coding or is there any other efficient way.

MSS "Employee Profile Information" Personalization

Hi all.
I´m trying to make some personalization in the "General Data" iView at the "Employee Profile Information" page of the MSS with the "ctrl + right click" method... But no modification remains. I make it, save it, but... When I preview the page again... Everything is as in the beginning.
Does anybody know why this happends and what can I do??

MSS Employee Profile

Hello,
We are implementing MSS on Portal. When a Manager views the Employee Profile for a particular employee and goes to Miscellaneous Tab -> Organizational Assignments -> History it shows the Manager's Communication information like Phone Number and Email Address.
It should display employee's communication data instead.
Any help would be highly Appreciated.

How to hide standard Iviews in MSS employee profile service

I am on MSS Add on 1.0 .
when I click on Team then employee infomration then employee profile.
I can see details of employee. How to hide additional information like salary data , compensation information, apprisal which is part of standard delivery.

MSS - Compensation Profile iViews Error Messages (Parameter CREVI not set)

Hello Folks,
We are currently implementing ECM with MSS and SAP Portal. In the Plan Compensation iView when I click on the Employee Name hyperlink it is launching Employee Compensation Profile page having General Data, Compensation Adjustments, Salary Development, Salary Survey Data, Compensation Guidelines, Compensation Eligibility, LT Incentive iViews.
I am getting below listed messages in these iViews, I am not able to trace where the configuration for these is missing i.e. either in the Resource or Service or in any of the SPRO step. Could you please help me in pointing to the location where I am missing in the config part.
General Data iView - "Internal error; Parameter CREVI is not set, Salary Development: An error occurred while the data was read."
Salary Development, Salary Survey Data, LT Incentive iViews - "No data available"
Compensation Guidelines, Compensation Eligibility iViews - "To display data, first select an employee".

MSS- Position Profile - No hyperlink

Under MSS --> Organization --> Organizational Overview
1. Organizational Profile - I am able to see the position details when selecting hyperlink for position from Position Holders.
2. Position profile - I should be able to see the same information, but there are no hyperlinks available when I select the Position profile.
Is there any specific configuration that needs to be done to populate data onto this iview.

In order to resolve the problem, please perform the changes as listed
below. Please be advised that these changes has to be done manually.
1) Change the value of the Iview property "Group of Organizational
Structure View" of the Position Profile Search Iview into "
MSS_POS_SEARCH ". Please be advised that the text is case sensitive. The
Other two Iview properties "Organization Structure View" and
"Organizational Structure Views with List Display in Navigation Area"
should be left empty.
The standard delivery of the iview:

following PCD path in the Portal.

MSS - Position Profile - Link

Hi All,
I would like change ivew path from Standard iView to custom iView for Position Profile Link in MSS-> Organization -> Position Information Application.
FYI : I am using MSS Addon Application which are based on WDA and FPM.
I belive that This link can be configred in the backend system.
Please tell me where to be defined custom iView pcd path for Position Profile Link.

As per requirement i have to remove Working Time UIBB from HRMSS_POSITION_PROFILE_OIF. For this i have made Z copy and removed the same. This is calling from on click of Position Profile link from Position Information (First Screenshot).
So here my Question is how to link custom ZHRMSS_POSITION_PROFILE_OIF onclick of Position Profile link of Position Information Application.

How to change employee information in the MSS Talent Profile application

we are using the MSS iview talent profile. On the overview page of this iview, on the left side, there is employee informattion displayed (org assignment, successor for... ). we have a requirement to modify the way the position is calculated.
how can we do that? is there a badi that allows for modification of the org assignment fields?

hi tiberiu, there is a way yes...
Step1: create you custom field
in spro navigate to talent management -> basic settigns -> adjusting the user interface -> configurations for data retreival -> extend field selection - > add fields to selection field catagory ->
here you will see SAP_POSITION - the last column reports to the badi. The badis for each field are also in the same spro sub-menu.
create a zsap_position column by copying the standard one. You than replace the "Position" badi with your own BADI.
step2: add the field to the view:
in spro navigate to talent management -> basic settigns -> adjusting the user interface -> configurations for data retreival -> create configuration with field groups.
here copy a view and make a Z view. in your z view you can remove the SAP_POSITION column and add your Z column.
than in same spro sub-menu, experiment with your new view by telling it where in the various user interfaces it should be used. Place the name of your view as the parameter value in
assign configuration to user interface

In configuration of short profile, I have got the following :
If I delete compensation field from here, will it get deleted from ESS Employee short Profile as well.??
In Configure display of short profile,
I have got the following screen :
Here the pixel value is given. If I reduce the pixel, will my requirement will get satisfied.

Can anyone tell me how the Enterprise Profiler is used?

I followed the steps in the tutorial to configure the profiler, unfortunately none of the steps could be completed. I'm currently using Sun Java Application Server to deply J2EE applications. I just can find the profiler anywhere in the IDE, help~~~~

Seems that this help is under construction.
To start with profiler
1. Set your project as main project.
2. Enable data collection: JSE8-> Run -> Profile -> Enable Collection
3. Open profiler: JSE8-> Run -> Profile -> Open Profiler. This opens Enterprise Application Profiler and short Profiler User Guide.
Also there is a small demo of profiler's usage available at the end of Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8 EA Product Tour video:
