MSS Time sheet appearing to reporting Manager and Unit Head

Hello Experts,
We are implementing MSS in project and we are facing a problem:
- We have Org structure
Unit Head (chief Position)
^
Asst Manager (not a chief postion) reports to Unit Head
^
Associates (not a chief postion) reports to Asst manager
Now when employees goes and submits his time sheet it appears correctly to Asst Manager  in MSS Time sheet Approval by Line Manager.
Now the problem is that Associate's time sheet is also appearing to Unit Head. Incase Unit head selects it and approve, it will get approved which is incorrect. The Associates time sheet should only appear to Asst Manager not to Unit Head.
Please help us how we can resolve this problem.
thanks
venkat

As per your scenrio time sheet approval only for one level only. In workflow try to use logic A002 relation ship (Reports to). That means employees reporting manager.
Discuss the same with your workflow consultant they will help you. Whoever is submit time sheet & it will go to employee line manager using A002 Relation ship.

  • How many time to install/configure OVM Manager and OVM Server ?

    Hello,
I wish to have your experience feedback on the mean time needed to install both OVM Server and OVM Manager in a production environement, with e.g : 2 CPUs, 4 G of RAM, or for 4 CPUs and 8 G of RAM.
    Regards,
    Lionel

Not enough information. XE is not supported in a production environment so you will need to install a SE or EE version of Oracle Database. I would personally use EE because the Virtual Manager comes with a single use license that covers running the VM Manager on either edition. No extra cost to run EE over SE.
You can use kicstart to rapidly deploy any VM Server. If you get your scripting right... it takes less than 10 minutes.

Have you tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode? Hold down "shift" while Firefox is starting up. If the crash doesn't happen in Safe Mode, you should read [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]].
There is also a lot of useful stuff in the [[Firefox crashes]] Knowledge Base article. If you've recently upgraded, you might want to check out [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/latest-firefox-issues#w_firefox-crashes-when-i-start-it this article] as well.

    Hi All
We are in apps. 11.5.9 with English and Arabic language support.Even though we have all our data and reports in English we are in need of an Arabic Invoice report.
Since Titles cannot be typed in oracle report builder we decided to build the report in Xml Publisher.
Every thing is done to run the report in xml publisher but we face two probles in the final xml output.
Problem1. Header and footer are not displaying in the report.
Problem2. Arabic characters are not displaying properly in the report.
Here what ever titles we gave in Arabic are displaying good.
If I save the xml file and load it in the templete and view output shows the correct arabic wordings.
But when during taking the output directly from apps. then the problem comes. The Arabic fonts are not dispaying correctly.
    Any Idea about this.

    Wojtek

    Hi Wojtek
I just wanted to know if you found a solution for part (1).  I just recently encountered the problem where:
"when i try to execute reports in report manager, parameters controls are not displayed correctly (very simple text boxes) and I can see:
The selected report is not ready for viewing. The report is still being rendered or a report snapshot is not available. (rsReportNotReady) "
However all my reports are run from the most recent data.  The rsReportNotReady message appears in Report Manager but not the Report Server interface; the latter is able to render the reports.   But both have incorrectly displayed textbox inputs.
    Thanks

  • Visibility issue with a sub report in Report Manager

I have a subreport in a List item. In the visibility property of the subreport, I have the following expression:
    =IIF(Fields!X.Value = "A", "True", IIF(Fields!X.Value = "B", "True", "False"))
This is working fine for me in SSDT. If the value of field X is A or B the subreport does not display, but the subreport displays otherwise.
However, when I upload the report to Report Manager and run it the subreport will always display, even when the value of Field X is A or B.
Any suggestions for what I'm doing wrong, and/or how to fix or work around?. I've inserted Field X as a textbox into the List item, alongside the subreport, to ensure that the value is in fact A or B for the subreports that are displaying when they shouldn't.

I've tried making the change suggested by
PrajapatiNeha and then re-uploading the RDL to Report Manager.  The visibility error is still occurring.
Thanks for your responses. I've downloaded the RDL from Report Manager, and located the appropriate code  for the subreport. The RDL contains the following for the sub-reports visibility properties:
    <Visibility>
    <Hidden>=iif(Fields!Indicator_Group.Value = "Service Utilisation" Or Fields!Indicator_Group.Value = "GP Referred Services", True, False)</Hidden></hidden>
    </Visibility>
I dont really have any experience with reading the XML code, but this appears to be ok?
If i set the visibility property to Hidden, then the subreport will not display for all records. But with the expression the subreport is still always displaying.
    Thanks

    Hi Rick,
According to your description, the exception “System.IO.IOException: The file exists.” is thrown out when you export the report on report manager.
Generally, the exception is thrown out because there are more than 65535 files without deleting previous temporary files in our temporary directory. Based on my research, it has reported the same issue when exporting the report on report manager, and deleting all
temp files from C:\Windows\Temp could resolve the issue. I would also suggest you remove the temporary files from C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp. Please refer to the first comment at this link:
    System.IO.IOException: The file exists
    Reference:
    Path.GetTempFileName Method
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Will the reports developed in sql server 2008 r2 BIDS work when deployed on sql server 2012 reporting manager

Will the reports developed in sql server 2008 r2 BIDS work when deployed on sql server 2012 reporting manager?
when I check on Microsoft site it says
Reports are not upgraded when you upload a report definition file directly to the report server
or SharePoint site. Upgrading a report definition in SQL Server Data Tools is the only way to upgrade the .rdl file.
When you open an .rdl file in Report Designer in SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), if the report was
created for a previous namespace, Report Designer automatically creates a backup file and upgrades the report to the current namespace.
This is the only way you can upgrade a report definition file.
Now here is another confusing statement which says
You can upload an .rdl file created in an earlier version of Reporting Services to a SQL Server
2012 report server and it is automatically upgraded on first use. The report server stores the report definition file in the original format. The report is automatically upgraded the first time it is viewed, but the stored report definition file remains
    unchanged.
All I want to know is if I deploy a rdl made in 2008 r2 to 2012 will it work on the report manager of
    2012?
    <o:p>
    </o:p>
    Mudassar

I have tested this fucntionality and can confirm that ssrs 2008 r2 reports work when you deploy them on new ssrs 2012 report manager .
    No Migration is required .
I didnt even moved report server dbs .All I did is just deployed reports on the report manager and it worked .
    "You
can upload an .rdl file created in an earlier version of Reporting Services to a SQL Server 2012 report server and it is automatically upgraded on first use. "
Microsoft needs to correct this the documentation is misleading

  • Asking for Credentials (Authentication) while trying to open Report Manager.

    Hi All,
New to Reporting (using ssrs 2012). I was able to deploy the report project at

I'm using Windows Authentication to connect to sql server 2012 database engine.
Not sure how to open Report Manager.
Any help would allow me to move further...
    Thanks

Hi Olaf, Thanks for the response but still the problem persists...
I got a work around for the problem but not sure if the solution is right. I created password for the Administrator account. When I give the user name and password after i type the URL : http://rahul-hp/Reports in IE, it's showing all the report folders.
When clicked on a report, I am able to view the report BUT the problem is.. I am not getting the context menu when i click on either the folder or a report ( which contains 'Manage' option).I need to work on snapshots and subscriptions. Please help me out...
Also,Could anyone let me know if browsers like Google Chrome and IE 10 both work with the same fuctionality when working with Report Manager
or is there a preferred browser to work with Report Manager. ( IE should be the preferred one but not sure)

  • Report Manager 2008 r2 - prompts for username/password & does not accept

    Hi all,
I am dealing with an extremely frustrating problem with Reporting Services 2008 r2, Report Manager, and would greatly appreciate any help.
I have installed Reporting Services, with Report Manager, onto a Windows Server 2008 r2 install.
When loading Report Manager (http://server/reports), I get prompted for a username/password.
No matter what I type in, I get prompted a 2nd time, then a 3rd time, then a blank screen loads up.
    @#$@#??!?!!
How can I get past this username/password challenge - remember this is SQL 2008 r2 so IIS-based solutions are not relevant.
    Thanks again,
    Jason

    Hi Jason,
Did you follow the solution i mentioned at another your thread
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlreportingservices/thread/4f3651cb-c608-4460-a45a-9337df2ab88a ? This is very common issue in SSRS 2008 and the solutons have been summarized at this blog
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/lukaszp/archive/2008/03/26/solving-the-reporting-services-login-issue-in-the-february-ctp-of-sql-server-2008.aspx , and also applies to SSRS 2008 R2.
Note:by using the default installation, the rsreportserver.config file is stored at C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.instance\Reporting Services\ReportServer
please let us know the result.

  • 401.2 Error Accessing Report Manager

I concede defeat on this one.  I've gone through every configuration option I can think of in order to get this working so I am bowing to those who know more than I do!
I've got a native installation of SSRS 2008 R2 running on W2K8 R2.  Straightforward installation and configuration with the service running under Network Service.  Local DB Engine which has the ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB deployed on to.
But when when I try and run Report Manager to add users as system admins I keep hitting the
401.2: Unauthorized: Logon failed due to server configuration.  To try and overcome this I have done the following:
    Run IE as administrator
    Disabled UAC
Checked, double-checked and triple-checked Windows authentication configuration for report server.  RSreportserver.config authentication is configured for RSWindowsNTLM, and the web.config files for Report Server and Report Manager authentication is
    set to Windows.
The server URL (i.e. http://<servername>) is added to the list of Trusted Sites in IE.
I'm just looking to use NTLM for authentication purposes.  I have configured SSRS countless times without issue, but this one has got me stumped and it seems whatever I do I can't get around this 401.2 error.  Looking in Event Viewer, an ASP.NET
2.0.50727.0 error is logged whenever I'm running the webpage with the following details:
    Event code: 4007
Event message: URL authorization failed for the request
    Request URL: http://<my server>/Reports/folders/pages.aspx
    Request path: /Reports/folders/pages.aspx
    User host address: ::1
    User: <My network account>
    Is authenticated: True
    Authentication: NTLM
Thread account name: <My network account>
    Any thoughts?

    Hi SQLPhil,
According to your description, you configured SSRS 2008 R2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and use Network Service as service account. When you tried to access report manager, you got the error message: 401.2: Unauthorized: Logon failed due to server configuration.
The error message means that you do not have permission to view this directory or page using the Admin credential. The error occurs when the authentication methods that were tried are either disabled, or you are attempting to use NTLM through a proxy server.
To troubleshoot the problem, please refer to the following steps:
Make sure ReportServerURL element in rsreportserver.config (default location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer)have value that is equal to the Web Service URL.
Add report manager and web service FQDN to IE trusted sites.
Click Tools at top right of IE, click Internet Options.
In Security tab, click Custom Level button.
Scroll down to the end of the list, and select "Automatic logon with current user and password”.
Access the report server with FQDN instead of localhost, E.g.
    http://servername/Reports.
For more information about the error message, please refer to the following KB:

  • SSRS 2012 - Cannot access any of the sub page from Report Manager - Manage page menus.

    All:
It was working at one point of time, but suddenly when I tried to access any of the menus from Report Manage page, all the options (Data Source, Subscriptions, Processing Options, Cash Refresh Options, Report History, Snapshot Options, Security) will
redirect back to the root directory page.
Because of this problem, I cannot manage any of the options or subscriptions for any of my report on the server.
Does anybody know what could be the problem? Thank you very much for your help.
    Tina

    Hi Tina,
As per my understanding, I think this strange issue can be caused by the browser which running Report Manager and the page files may be corrupted which are related to manage properties in Report Manager.
As to the browser, if you use IE explorer to run Report Manager, I suggest that you can try to run it in compatibility mode. If you are using another browser, I recommend that you should use IE explorer to run Report Manager to check the issue again.
Another possibility is related to corrupted page files. If in this scenario, I suggest that you can try to copy the all Pages folder from another server which works well to replace the current one. By default, the Pages folder is located in the following
    folders:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportManager
Besides, if this issue still exists, you can go to Reporting Services Log Files to see if there are error messages. Then it may help us make further analysis.
    Hope this helps.
