MSS - TMW viewing employees

Hi,
We have the following issue:
We have 2 org units A and B, reporting to 2 chief positions:
Org unit A reports to chief position X and Y (corresponding priority on IT 1001)
org Unit B reports to chief postion Y and X (corresponding priority on IT 1001)
When we look in PPOME, each org unit shows the accurate manager under the chief position.
However when looking in TMW via the MSS portal
Org unit A shows chief position X and Y and corresponding attached employees which is perfect while org unit B shows only Chief position Y and corresponding employees but NOT X.
What we are trying to achieve is to link our 2 org units to 2 chief positions so that when a manager is on vacation, the manager of the other org unit can enter time for the employees of the manager on vacation.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Interface you are trying to log in from? (SQL*Plus or iSQL*Plus?)
Error messages?
Steps you took to produce the error?
The HR user will have been set up with a default password, if it is set up at all. Did you install the database? Did you unlock the HR user?

Can you please tell me what is your exact requirement?....
I think in the standard MSS package there is an iview for viewing the workschedule related information like Hours/day, Hrs/week, hrs/month and hrs/year for a position.
However, if you want to view the workschedule for employee, it can easily be configured through the OADP.
You can create a custom Function module for fetching the workschedule for each employee and after creating a custom column, add it to any data view.

Employee search in MSS Team view

Hi,
Our requirement is to add a new criteria (employee by cost center) to the search criteria drop down in MSS Team view.
I have done the following steps in Object and Data provider node in spro-
u2022     Define rules for object selection
u2022     Define object selection
u2022     Define organizational structure views
u2022     Group organizational structure views
The new criteria is now visible in the dropdown, but on selecting the dropdown value no fields for input of cost center are displayed. Are there any settings that need to be done to define the input fields? If yes, what are these settings and where do I do them?

Now I see the problem. And I dont think it is possible.
I recoment you to look at class CL_HRWPC_SEARCH_VIA_SELID. This class used by MSS for employee search. You can see it in IMG Define object selection. Copy and try modify it or find ther class you can use. I hope will work without any modification in NWDS.
All I did was definition rules for object selection where I put my FM for object selection. I did not enter any values the searsh was in the FM.

MSS Calendar View - Details of employee's request displaying 0 for hours

In MSS Calendar view when a manager views their calendar they can select the employee's time off request and the details will dispaly below. The details consist of the type, date and hours of the request. It appears that for some managers they are able to view this correct format. But for other managers when they click to get the details there will be a table format that displays with multiple rows displaying the following: Type of leave, From Date, To Date, Start, End, Absence Hours equals 0, Status displays as Informed, Used. Has anyone else encounted this issue where some managers view the correct detail format and others are viewing a table format that doesn't give the details and 0 for hours?

Thanks for the clarification on the text of the status. It appears that the hours are being posted and deducted from the employee's quota. After further testing yesterday we narrowed it down to either testing and implementing on a different platform or security.

Cant view Employee & Organisational Process in MSS.

After selecting the employee or OM object and select Next i am not able to view any Processes & Forms. Can someone help please ASAP.

First question is why cant i see WD forms in HCM PnF and how can i see them if its possible.
What's the version your using ? what are the standard WD forms in HCM PnF your trying to looking ?
Which version you asking about pls and where can i check for this? In HRASR_DT i can see some FORMS like Hiring & also
HR_PA_XX_CHANGE_WORKINGTIME_1_WD Change in Working Time (XX) Web Dynpro.
As the process i can see when i run them i get ADS error.
Check with your basis team, since there is no ADS configurations done at portal level. To use Process and Forms Adobe services needs to be configured in portal.

Can MSS Team Viewer for HR Users to See All Org?

Hi MSS Expert:
Our company has modified R/3 MDT scenario that specially give HR users to display all org structure and run reports through PPMDT. We're now implmenting MSS 60.1, backend ESS 5.0, after configured the objects and data provider that's derived from MDT evalution path, we can not overwrite the team viewer that can give HR user to have full access to entire org structure view. Is MSS team viewer only limited to line manager who has chief position? Or can it be configured to adopt both line manager and special HR users? Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Helen,
being chief is a pre-req for MSS..You can create custom function modules & evaluation paths to bring in different levels of employees in to the Team Viewer.. but cannot give access to a special user... one has to be a chief of an Org Unit to get access to MSS..

How to view employees of "only a specific employee-group" from an org unit

Dear All,
I am working with authorization for MSS , now there is following requirement ,
There are 2 cheif positions in one orgunit , say as cheif-1 and cheif-2 , cheif-1 can view all employees exist in his organization unit ,including cheif-2 . But cheif-2 can see all those employees who belong to employee group non-management and reports to cheif -2 only.
We have tried to restrict the chief 2 to view employee group of non-mgmt in object p_orgin but still he is able to view all employees of org unit in mss. Kindly let us know it is possible to strict chief-2 to view non-mgmt employees .. & how ?
Kindly let me know the solution , as it is an urgent .

i used the structural authorization everything was working fine but cheif1 can view all his employees as well as cheif 2 ' employees but he can not view chief2 . any suggestion please let me know .

MSS Team View evaluation path for non chief positions (s-s)

Hello,
We have a problem with display of employees under non chief manager - reporting managers (connection A002). In our organization we have line managers and under them team managers who are leading team of employees. Those managers want to see their employees under MSS Team View iView.
I have checked forum posts and try to create correct evaluation path but i didn't get results yet. I have created 2 evaluation paths:
Z_MANG (copy of SAP_MANG):
10 *     B 008      S
20 S    B 002      S
30 US A 208 P
Z_S-S (copy of MSSDIREC):
10 S A 002     S
20 S A 008     P
30 S A 008     US
I also included them into rules so:
Root rule (rule 1) - Z_MANG
Target rule (rule 3) - Z_S-S
I have also done customizing under Object and Data provider and if I choose standard evaluation paths (e.g. SAP_MANG and MSSDIREC), I get employees shown - if I give manager a hat (A012 connection).
Could you please help me with advice, where am I wrong? I think that first evaluation path (Z_MANG) is ok and it finds non chief manager, maybe is a problem with second one that don't show employees?

My first suggestion was either use Bottoms-up approach or top-down dont use both..like either use either of below
S A 002 Reports (line) or
S B 002 Is line supervisor
but figured u will still have depth issues..so therefore
you cld experiment like below..i understood your requirement, and i am suggesting this totally off-hand thats on top of my head..as i said experiement doing this way..
say you have four levels why dont you use different evalutaion path to link them between each level..
say 1st to 2nd (reports to A002)
      2nd to 3rd (subordinate to A005)
      3rd to 4th/4th to 3rd (Is line supervisor B 002 )etc
this way you will not have the depth issue as each one is diffeent Ev path..
...oops i can see people laughing at this solution..but well..i tried!

MSS Team View change Bizcard Text

We are implementing MSS Team View on Portal. And want to change the Home No. text in the Bizcard displayed when the Manager hovers over the employee.
Any help would be highly Appreciated.

there is a customizing activity where you should be able to change the text.
Go to Personnel Management --> Manager Self-Service (Web Dynpro ABAP) --> Organizational Chart Visualization --> Configure Organizational Chart Visualization
If you don't have any customer specific entries, the standard customizing can be found under "Check standard organizational chart configuration"
Select the MSSBIZVIEW entry
Go to the structure MSS_EMP_HIER:
And then to the MSS_TMV_BIZ_NAV navigation field group (as you want to change communication settings here)
If you then open the navigation fields, you should be able to edit the text that is shown:

activate the NAKISA in SICF and chk once in portal the settings and kindly configure OADP settings in MSS u can get the structure in the Team view of MANAGER heirarchy , and chk the HCM_PD_UI_1 is active in SFW5

Remove MSS organizational view

Hi guys,
Within MSS Team View, we're trying to remove "Who's Who" View from the drop-down list box of the employee selection. I've gone to
SPRO > Integration with Other mySAP.com Components > Business Packages > Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP) > Object and Data Provider > Organizational Structure View > Group Organizational Struture Views
Selected MSS_TMV_EE and entered "0" for Who's Who. But it has no effect. Can anyone advise if this the correct way to do it? Thanks!

that will not solve your issue.
you have to create a new z one ZMSS_TMV_EE and assing all the organizational views except the Who''s Who and you have to set this in the iview property.

ESS: Viewing employee payslips

Hello,
I am fairly new to Portals and am attempting to view employee payslips. I have attempted to use Visual Composer to view the payslips using BAPI_GET_PAYSLIP_HTML. This BAPI asks for various parameters such as Employee Number, Payslip variant and sequence number. What is the payslip variant and sequence number and how do I find them??
Is there any other way of creating a payslip iView using Portal Content Studio? If so what iView and Transaction code do I use?

Hi Nick,
you probably need to call another BAPI that retrieves all those fields based either on the logged on user or a user selected from a list. In most cases that data is stored in the employee tables in SAP. I'm not an expert on VC, but your flow (if you don't have all the required data beforehand) should be to first retrieve the employee data with one BAPI and then forward the necessary fields to the BAPI that retrieves the payslip.

We have employee contract document scan and stored in SAP which we would view through SAP portal in MSS through Acrobat reader. Have SAP any scenario for this? Please handle this issue as urgent since our customer would implement this in production system with in next week. Thanks.

MSS Employee Profile has an application called 'archived document'. You can check whether that covers your requirement.

How to find out OrgUnit from the MSS team viewer iview

I have to find out OrgUnit of selected person. I did the mapping. I have also written following code:

wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportSuccess("You have selected orgunit "+ orgunit);
However, orgunit value is always null
Can you please let me know how we can get the orgunit in this case?

Thanks. I did so. Using this I can see the OrgUnit. However, this is the OrgUnit of MSS user. It remains same through out the program. It is unlike pernr which changes as the user clicks on different Employees.
My exact requirement is as below:
User will click on Employee Selection drop down box. After that he will select "Employees from Organizational Structure". Here organization structure will be displayed. Now the user will expand Org Structure. I want to know the Org Unit of different Organization as the user will go on expanding the Org Structure using the buttons

Where I can find the code for the button. I spent lot of time. I am not able to find out the exact place where the view for the button is located.
