James: can you pls. guide me as to how to come one with solution for me question the way u did...so that i can check for my self. else can u provide me info for 4.6 and 4.7 also pls? r u checking for WF in Tcode SWDM/SWDD? how to know how many levels exists.
also can u mention the actual worflows pls...ex: ws20000003 etc...

MSS Workflow: Display Form: Connection from R/3 to Portal.

Scenario and Description:
User is in R/3 Workflow Inbox. They have a MSS related "Change Notification: PAR with Approval" such as a Salary Change, etc. When they click on "Display Form" link their MS IE Browser opens and they are prompted to logon to the Portal prior to the form displaying.
The issue is that they are forced to log into the Portal even if they are already logged onto the Portal.
Is this the way it needs to work or can we set some parameter to have it so users don't have to log into Portal again when they are already logged in to Portal?

I do have SSO configured and I have even used SSO Wizard to set the R/3 system as trusted on the J2EE server side. We currently have EP 7.0 but have been using Portal since v.5.0. We have never had this problem in the past. All R/3 ids match network/portal ids. If we open an IE browser and logon to portal and then open another IE browser from start menu we also have to log into Portal again. This is typical session based behavior but what I would like to know is, should we be expecting this behavior from R/3 to Portal or should the whole SSO/logon ticket scenario free us from having to login to the Portal more than one time (if we are still logged in)?
PS: I see nothing in the link you sent me that we have not already done.

MSS Workflow - An error occurred whilst processing the notification

Hi Experts,
Urgently need your help to resolve <i><b>"An error occurred whilst processing the notification"</b></i>. I am using MSS portal and working on Recruitment workflow. When I am submitting an invitation. I am getting this error.
I tried to search a possible cause on SDN / OSS but could not get any solution.
Could you please help me to resolve this issue.

Hi,
There could lot of reasons behind it. Once you encounter this error go to the backend system and run transaction ST22 which will give you the list of short dumps that have occured. Maybe the application goes for a dump.
If there are no dumps then go to transaction SWIA and check for the workflow log if there are any errors within the workflow.

Error updating the process object in MSS workflow...

Hi All,
I copied the standard workflow 'WS18900010' and triggered the same in backend. In this the first step is to approve the form. I set the agent as WF Initiator for this step. Now I approved the form. But the workitem went into error giving the error message 'ERROR UPDATING THE PROCESS OBJECT'.
What could be the reason for this?
If the originator of request and approver of request is same(just for testing purpose), then may dis also result into above error?
Please suggest.

Please maintain this 'CL_HRASR00_POBJ_WF_EXIT' in the workflow exit for the specific task and also at the workflow header level.
Execute the process and if still error occurs, check for HCM P&F authorization and if it is fine, then check if the case settings are maintained correctly.
you can find the case configuration in HCM P&F help docu.

Ess / Mss Error while manager tries to open the workitem in UWL.....

Hi Experts,
    As I am trying to apply the Loan details in ESS / MSS, Workflow is triggerred and workitem is received in the Manager's UWL. But when the Manager tries to open the Workitem it is going for dump. "As follows"....

Like this there are 47 errors continued...
What may be the cause? What should be configured...
Here I have configured the "SWFVISU" with my tasks 'TS18900024" which in workflow.
Kindly give me some solution to solve the issue..

There are couple of setting needs to be done to set up Leave approval workflow .
Please go through below link .
Report PTARQ would help you set up the system and test overall scenario of leave approval workflow .
Below reports need to be scheduled in order to complete theprocess ...
1. The RPTARQPOST report (Leave Requests: Post) writes all requests in the database that have the status Approved to the Absences (2001) or Attendances (2002) infotype.
2. The RPTARQEMAIL report sends an e-mail to the employee notifying him or her of the change in status of the request.

Condition satisfied but still workflow determined it as false

in mss workflow one condition is satisfied but still it has taken it as false in that condition step
what can be the reason for this

Most probably the value was not set when the condition was checked. I would suggest to use container element binded to attributes of Business Object before using the condition step.
This will give visibility what was the value before the condition step was executed as the attribute value may get updated after condition step.

MSS - Workflo Tasks Query setting - View Delete

Hi SCN Members,
No delete option is enabled to delete the standard view for MSS - Workflow Tasks in Query settings. Please refer attached screen shot, this view has strange field names.
Please let me know if there is option to delete/hide.

Hi Naddy,
It is not possible to enable the 'SAVE' and 'DELETE' buttons, for 'STANDARD VIEW' but you can do for 'SAPInitial' View.
Just you need to 'ADD' or 'REMOVE' some columns in the SAPinitial View then it will activate 'SAVE'. Once you click on SAVE for your changes then it will activate the 'DELETE' button.

From a technical perspective you would need to know UWL (Universal Worklist) and WFM (Workflow Management) I would recommend to check help.sap.com on these products to learn more about the architecture of ESS/MSS workflow

Executing a workitem from UWL for approval process in ESS/MSS

Hi All,
I am working on ESS/MSS workflows...Everything is configured and also workflow is developed...When i try to execute a workitem from UWL to approve a PCR, i am getting a message in the status bar as "work item exucuted(new processing status:"in process"). But it's not launching the SAP transaction for approval.
Can anyone tell what is the probelm....

Where to see approved VR for Recruiter to proceed further in EHP4 and SP4

We had implemeneted E-Rec system ECC 6.0. with EHP2. Now we had upgraded to EHP4. We have 3 levels of approval while creating vacancy requistion (VR). Absolutely there is no change after EHP4 applied and we are able to create VR successfully. But now problem is that where to see approved requisition details under Recruiter to proceed fyrther i.e job posting, candidate shortlisting and alll....
In EHP2 approved VR was available under recruiter > maintain requisition. But in EHP4, we are not able to see approved VR under recruiter role after all level of approval.
Are we missing somethins or we are refering wrong place?
Can anybody guide how to see approved VR details for Recruiter to proceed further?

Thanks for your response. Actually we have separate system for E-Rec set up because of concurrent employment activation.
We have developed vacancy requisition (VR) form in PCR and 3 levels of approvals are there which is happening via workflow. After upgrading EHP4, we are able to use same VR form (under MSS), workflow and able to process 3 levels of approval. After approval, VR object (NB) has been created in E-Rec system. Then we need to process under recruiter for job posting and candidate search and all. But we are not able to find approved requisition details under recruiter.
There are two roles for Recruiter in EHP4 named E-Rec admin and Recruiter.
1. Can you please guide where exactly we can see approved requisition details under recruiter for job posting,candidate selection and all? Do we need to do something?
2. After upgrading EHP4, most of the cases we are getting error "You are not authorized to execute this application". Are we doing something wrong? For exa:-
a) Recruiter > work overview > error
b) Recruiter > Requisition > Create /create by position/Candidate search > you are not authorized to execute this application occurs
c)Recruiter > Personal settings > Internal error
d)E-Recruiting admin > Services > delete registration /delete external candidate > Internal error
e)E-Recruiting admin > Central system administrator > Requisition management > authorization error and many....
3. However we are able to see approved VR under E-Recruiting administrator > adjust support team. But while clicking on any VR, we are getting below error.
"There is no iView available for system "SAP_ERP_TalentManagement": object "requisition". For more information, contact your administrator"
Can you please guide what we are doing wrong?

UWL - Starting Workitmes using WinGui

Hi all,
in standard, if I open a Workitem in the Universal Worklist, which comes from a SAP System, it's executed with Webgui. Does anybody know, if there's a possibility to execute the workitem with WinGui? I haven't found any iview parameter to change the execution mode from Webgui to WinGui!

I have a question for u.. u said u have executed the workitem from UWL which is linked to R3..We are trying to execute the workitems which are related to ESS/MSS workflows, but i am getting message as Work item executed (new processing status: "In Process") with a blank screen.
