MSS Worksets & Roles

dear portal consultants
we are working on ECC 5 & EP 6. i have deployed all the business packages for ESS and MSS. While I could see the ESS roles in the PCD am unable to see neither the MSS roles nor the worksets like my staff, my budget, etc. i have searched the entire PCD and could not find any of the MSS components whereas in the JCO connections, it shows all the MSS components.
can anyone kindly help me in sorting out this issue.

The contents are under Line Manager folder in the content manager. If the content isn't there then the installation didn't go right.
If you see the contents, then assign yourself the MSS role and test it.

Re : MSS Portal role for Non Employee to View/Edit all Employees data

Hi All,
Is there a role I can assign so that a manager who log into portal, can view all the employees and just not the directly reporting employee.
This user is outside the SAP and should be able to see and modify all employees data in the entire company under diffrent org units
Any hints on doiing this would be appreciated
I understand if I assign MSS Manager role to a manager he can just view all the employess who report to him and not all the employees.

Hi Sarvan,
it's just a question of customizing in the HCM Backend. In the portal you can use the standard MSS role coming with the Business Package (or a changed copy). But, the person in question here has to have a user in the backend and an according position in the organizational structure.

We do have a two different work sets assigned to large number of roles in MSS
Almost we have more than 100 roles and we need to compare only two workset and check which workset is being present
in which role
can we find out which work set is being used for which role Instead of checking manually one role by one

When you say you have "more than 100 roles", are you talking true PORTAL roles or backend? Also, if portal roles, of those, how many are actually MSS related? How are you assigning these roles as well? Are you assingning them "per user"? Per "portal group"? Per "Active Directory group"? Your group design might be an issue.
I would suggest looking at your design of your roles. Look at implementing "merging" to get rid of unneeded overlaps.

ESS/MSS EHP5 role customization issue

Hi,
We have implemented EHP5 roles on Enterprise Portal 7.0, other version details are: EHP6 and SP9.
Following issues are coming:
1. Our portal is having customized theme. However, the lpd_cust ESS/MSS roles created when rendered Portal is taking Standard blue theme, how can we get our custom theme when lpd_cust roles are launched on Portal.
2. The link text is getting vertically splitted in service map area. Eg. If we have "User Manual" as link text of a application created under lpd_cust folder ESS->User Manual, the text is getting splitted. How can we adjust size of this text?

EP6.0 : Custom workset/Role dosen't work when using Windows authentication

Hi
We have implemented EP6.0 with Windows integrated logon with Active directory.
To create a custom "Transport' role, we copied ( not the delta link) the "Export" workset and put into the custom role. we assigned this role to one user.
When this user logon through the integrated login( without needed the user id/password) although the new menu is visible, the export workset dosen't work( page can not be found).
The same work set work when the user logs in with the userid/password combination.
Also the default SAP provided workset always work.

Maybe try OSS #734462 - urlmaxsegmentlength issues.
Had similar problems - pages work w/ userid/password
(same pages don't work w/ NTLM authentication).

Precalculate & Broadcast Web Template to specific Workset/Role

Hi,
I have created a Web Template called Sales_01
I also have created a Workset called Sales_workset_01 and assigned the workset to ROle Sales_manager.
I then published my Sales_01 web template to the SAles_workset_01.
Now, i want to precalculate and broadcast my Sales_01 to the Sales_workset_01.
Somehow I am not able to and only allowed to broadcast to the KM FOlder...
Anyone out there know of a solution or workaround?

That was the first thing that came to mind. I tried publishing to the KM folder, but then could not find any way to link the object in the KM folder to the Role / Workset under my Portal Content.
Any ideas to do this?

Iviews are Content Providers ( It provides the framework.They are basic building blks for Portal)
ROLE ( group of worksets )
WORKSET ( group of Pages )
PAGES ( group of Iview )

Worksets for MSS

Hi All,
I am working on SAP Enterprise Portal 7.0 - SAP MSS 600 version.
In Portal content directory : Content provided by SAP -> Line manager -> MSS -> worksets : I have only bellow worksets:
Budget, MSS, MSS, Planning, Projects, Reports, Team , Work Overview.
Are these worksets complete? Do SAP provide worksets like Overview, Attendance, ESS in MSS, Employee review?
Also is workset Work Overview diffrent than Overview?

In MSS role we can find 3 worksets overview, reports and service map .
Acutally overview is the folder which contains workoverview,team ,budjet,project and planning.
report is the the ivew and service map is the iview .
so over view is one folder and wokoverview the workset in that overview folder.

I need to fetch iviews,pages ,worksets ,roles that have not been assigned and are not used.The iview is not assigned to a page,workset ,role,similarly a page need not be assigned to a page,workset,role and similarly for a workset and a role.

we have intalled MSS/ESS on Netweaver 7.3 backend EHP5 . In ESS we are able to see all the Iviews bit for MSS no standard iviews displying ..and the right side menu- recruitment/talent management/team etc listed .while click on that getting "the below eror"

Hello Everyone,
I am working on HCM forms and processes. I have following issues. Dont know if this is the right place to ask the following questions.

u2022 Assign the MSS role version 14
I have activated the backend services but dont know how to assign MSS role version 14. Can some one please help me how and where do MSS role version 14 is assigned.

MSS menu Personnel Change Request

Hi all,
I have the MSS portal role assigned to me. Problem is my MSS menu only includes Overview and Reports, but need it to also include Attendance, Employee Review, Personnel Change Request, etc. How to I add those menu items under MSS? (mainly concerned about Personnel Change Request at this point).
I've seen a screen shot of another system, and insted of MSS it shows "My Staff", then has the Overview | ... PCR. My Staff is the same as MSS, correct? I just need to know how to get PCR to appear under my MSS menu.

PCR should be available on the Standard MSS role.
Please check with your Portal admin, if PCR workset in made available for your user. Also make sure you have the end user permission and the needed access to use this iview. Hope this helps
