  • MISSING MSVCR80.DLL AFTER ATTEMPTING TO UPDATE ITUNES

I just recently saw an update to iTunes available so I go through the install. It gets almost done and then gives me an error message that it can't install and to try manually installing from the Tools menu in iTunes. Great.
Go to open iTunes and can't do it. Seems the failed install has deleted a .dll file iTunes needs. MSVCR80.dll is missing.
So I download iTunes from the Apple website and attempt to install from that. No luck. Can't seem to start Apple Services. Greeeeeeaaaaat.
    Help.

  • Nano ver 6 doesn't show up even after reinstalling iTunes which had to be done because of problems with all Apple devices after trying to update iTunes via a message from Apple.

Nano ver 5/6 doesn't show up in iTunes even after having to reinstall iTunes because of problems with trying to update iTunes after receiving message from Apple that an update was available.  Other Apple products are showing up.

  • Missing MSVCR80.dll after the latest update solved.

To all of you who lost iTune after the latest update, obviously there were some kind of bugs at their end.  Very annoying.  But here is the fix you can do it yourself.  And don't worry your iTune is intact inluding your library.
First, you have to uninstall every Apple product via Control Panel, Program Uninstall.  In that list you should have 4 Apple items; Apple Applicaiton Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Software Update, and iTunes.  Uninstall them one by one.
    Imoortant ot re-boot the system.
Then go to www.apple.com/itunes/, and look for the download button.  That's it.  As you go through the steps, be sure to instll as amdministrator.
You should get back your old iTunes with nothing missing.

Apple have a recommended order for uninstalling the components, and there are some other tips below...
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • Error message after trying to update itunes 12

error messages appearing when trying to update to itunes 12.  dont use the computer much

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

My iTunes updated days ago and after that my 4th generation iPod Touch couldn't be recognized on iTunes but my PC can recognize and it sees that it is an iPod Touch. I read on another forum post that stated if I renamed my iPod Touch to something else but I couldn't rename it. Has anyone had this issue?

Instead of asking silly questions, search the forums.

  • After trying to update itunes it now hangs moving items into place.

I get the error that this copy of itunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly.  Please reinstall itunes (error -42037).  I have attempted to reinstall but the install process hangs at moving items into place.  I have left it over night, before manually shutting down and trying again, and then left it all day.  Still hangs, whilst hanging the time remaining goes up from less than a minute, to 1 hour 6 minutes, to 2 hours 50 minutes etc.  I need to fix quickly as I am setting up a new phone and was able to restore all but my music from icloud.  I need my music and playlists set up before tomorrow.  Thanks

Hi, reinstalling iTunes should not mess with your music et cetera (however some users have suggested on here that it did), but keeping a backup is always recommended anyway.

  • TS3074 error message 'missing MSVCR80.dll' when trying to open iTunes

Using Windows XP was unable to successfully download the newest version of iTunes on 30 January 2014. iTunes will not open on either of two PCs, a desktop and a Laptop. Reveived error message 7 (windows error 126). Tried several times, even uninstalled program and tried a new download.
    Anyone else having this problem?

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • Runtime error when trying to update iTunes

I got "error R6034-An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly" after trying to update iTunes yesterday.  I uninstalled iTunes.  Today I tried download iTunes.  It would not download.  I tried to reinstall from the original download that I had saved.  I got the same runtime error plus another error--"Error 7 (Windows error 1114)".  How do I correct this problem?  I am using Windows Vista on this computer

Same problem here. Multiple times - I've tried downloading, uninstalling and re-installing ad nauseum, all to no avail.
    I'm using Windows 7.  64 bit
I also tried installing an earlier 32 bit version if iTunes - and got exactly the same R6034 problem.
Looks like no one is responding to the problem here.
I never did like Apple or its i-products.  This episode has re-inforced my dislike I'm afraid.

  • Tried to update iTunes on Win7 got a MSVCR80.dll error message.  Tried to reinstall as advised, won't complete installation saying I have to verify that I have sufficient priveleges.  How do I do that?

I just tried to update iTunes, got an error message MSVCR80.dll and was told to reinstall.  Tried to reinstall, at the end received this message:  "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."  There is no place to verify anything.  Logged in to Apple Store with ID and password.  Tried again.  Same message!!  Help!!
