MSVCR80.dll Error 7 Windows Error 126
This post concerns error message MSVCR80.dll and Error 7, Window error 126. I got these error messages after installing the latest version of itunes. The errors excaped thru my virus protection softwares, so I assume many other windows users got these error messages. I have tried uninstalling everything related to apple software on my computer and reinstalling itunes. But to no avail. Any other suggestions? Thank you.

When I plug in my Ipod Touch to my computer I can not access my Itunes library. The following message appears "The program cant start because MSVCR80.dll is missing." Also, another message appears as well - "Error 7 Windows error 126" as well as APSDaemon.exe.
I have NO IDEA what the heck to do.
Any ideas?

After an iTunes update failed to install, iTunes won't open and I get the following two windows. Program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer, and iTunes not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (windows error 126) When I reinstall I get the same messages and ITunes won't open.

Hello< I have windows 7, I tried to install the new itunes version, last night 1/30/14, Im getting msvcr80.dll error 7 (windows error 126). Does anyone have a remedy for this? When I try to uninstall the ituned program it says it can't be found and to make sure I have permission to uninstall.
Same problem today. Took five times to reinstall without any error messages. I did the following:
1) Went to the C:\program files (x86)\iTunes and C:\program files\iTunes folders and moved every file ending in .dll to the desktop (even if two files in same location had the same name, just replaced)
2) Restarted computer and still got error message
3) Uninstalled all apple programs possible in the following order......itunes, apples software update, apple mobile device support, bonjour, and apple application support.....all performed using the microsoft control panel
4) put all the .dll files on the desktop in the trash and emptied (this is a step apple support did not recomment in their posted solutions but for a final try I wanted to delete everything apple).
5) Restarted computer.
6) Re-installed itunes from apple website
No error messages during re-install and was able to open shortcut in one try. -
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes 15 times regarding the latest release and still get the MSVCR80.dll and Error 7 (Windows error 126) messages.
I have tried moving the dll filesincluding the QTMovie dll file to now avail. Can anyone please help, as I am sure you all, like me, have thousnads of dollars and songs invested in this system and need a fix fast. Can anyone please help???Dear avid iTunes users - I have cracked it!!!
The response from Apple/iTunes was extremely poor and did not solve the problem.
I have a look in msconfig and observed which applications/services were running - one of which was the 'Apple Application Support'
So ... I had a look at what was in this folder and found the APS Daemon.exe file causing all the trouble.
So ... I simply deleted the Apple folder found in C:\program files\common files\.
I did a restart and did not get the MSCVCR80.dll or Error 7 (windows 126) error messages.
I reinstalled the current version of iTunes (for the 16th time!)
Hey presto!!!
IT WORKED :-O Woooohooo!!!
So ... to all those smarty-pants boffin-brianiacs out there (apple/iTunes): this is how you do it!!!!!!!!!!
YOU DO NOT NEED TO UNINSTALL ALL THE APPLE/QUICKTIME OR RELATED PROGRAMS - JUST DELETE THE APPLE FOLDER IN THE C:\PROGRAM FILES DIRECTORY.
Nuff said. -
when I tried to update to the new version of Itunes - message box appears "APSDAEMON.EXE MSVCR80.DLL is missing". Then another box indicates "Error 7 (Windows error 126)". Itunes will not start. Can someone tell me what the problem is and how to fix?

ITunes install errors: MSVCR80.dll and Error 7 (windows error 126)
All of a sudden my iTunes stopped working, and I get the following error messages:
1. the program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem
and
2. iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126).
Now I've checked the forums and followed the advice of uninstalling all Apple applications, rebooting, and reinstalling iTunes.
This is not working. I've tried installing as Administrator but doesn't make any difference at all.
There must be a way to fix this? I'm not a tech geek but I want to avoid having to take my laptop back to factory settings to sort this out.
ThanksITunes tried to automatically update today and failed and then I was also getting the MSVCR80.dll error
After trying many things I finally removed all Apple software
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
I was then able to finally successfully install the latest version of iTunes and the software installed correctly and the error went away.
I hope this works for you as well. -
I have tried several times to install iTunes update 11.1.4 on my PC. I get a message saying that install was not successful and an error message of MSVCR80.dll not present, Error 7, (Windows error 126). I am told to reinstall iTunes, but nothing changes. What next? I've not had this problem with other updates requested by Apple.
I have also had the same problem with my Win 7 32 bit computer. I had great help from Apple techs in Montreal and Orlando for 2.5 hours. They helped me remove every trace of Apple products and clean the registry in two different ways. Each install gave the same problem! If Apple techs can't fix it (on some of our machines) then we are really in trouble. They promised to raise it with the "engineers" and get back to me with a solution. I am waiting and hoping. Otherwise maybe version 11.1.5 will have a fix ??

When trying to downlead the latest version of iTunes, I got 2 errors:
1. MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
Service "Apple Mobile Device" failed to start. Verify your admin ......
2. iTunes was not installed correctly. Error 7 (Windows error 126)
Please help!Do you have Windows XP Pro?
see https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5840089?tstart=0
there is a stupid checkbox you must uncheck, saying "protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity"
You see this screen when you right-click on the ItunesSetup.exe in your Downloads folder.
downloads>ItunesSetup.exe (right-click)>yourself as admin & UNCHECK THAT BOX!> conntinue with new installation and even find your old playlists still intact!!
This is apparently a Windows XP fix alone. MSVCR80.dll is (probably) reinstalled by Itunes under a partnership aggreement with Microsoft.
Using the Microsoft "Fix It" utility at http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall/en does NOT fix anything. Abandon All Hope Ye Who Run This Utility More Than Once -
I keep getting the following message after attempting to download and install the latest update for iTunes: missing MSVCR80.dll. error 7 (windows error 126). Anyone else having this issue? How do I get iTunes back in working order?
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
