Solving MSVCR80 issue and Windows iTunes install issues.
If the above doesn’t do the trick entirely, then use the instructions in the following as it applies to the version of Windows you are using:
HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP
HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
You may be required to boot into safe mode to complete the folder deletion process.

  • What happens when i uninstall an application

Say, i download an application to my N8 via ovi. I dont like it and uninstall it using application manager. Now,
    1) Can i reinstall the application without downloading it again?
    2) Does the downloaded file still exist hidden somewhere in the device memory, eating up its space?

As far as the First question goes.. your comments in the following thread indicate that you need not download again as you already have it on PC....

I found the answer for the first question after starting this thread. And it is really cool. Downloading via PC is clearly the best. You can reinstall whenever you want.
Ovi seems to be a one time installer (deleting the downloaded file after installation, as i gathered from the link you gave here as the answer for the second question).  So you have to download and install all the files again if something goes wrong with your handset.

  • What happens when you uninstall??

Well, looks like I'm one of MANY having problems with itunes ever since the last 'upgrade'. I have not tried to uninstall itunes yet, and I was wondering... do you lose all your downloaded songs if you uninstall the program, or are the songs 'stored' somewhere other than the actual software?
So with everyone having problems, is Apple going to do anything about FIXING things?? I don't get on this board that much, so I'm sorry if I'm asking questions that have already been asked.

If you have everything in iTunes and not separate folders on your hard drive then your songs are stored in the My Music>iTunes>iTunes Music folder. You should find the iTunes application in Program Files. If you are concerned about losing anything then back up the iTunes folder to disk beforehand.

  • ITunes won't download because MSVCR80.dll is missing

I have had an iTunes account, and have much music on file.  I have recently been unable to access it because MSVCR80.dll is missing.  It said to uninstall my iTunes, which I did, but now the new version still won't download.
    Help, anyone??

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates

  • My Itunes won't open. When I click on it I get error message:  The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer.

The first error message is: itunes.exe-System Error:  the program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem.
The second error message says: itunes:  itunes was not installed correctly.  Please reinstall itunes Error 7 (Windows error 126)
I have reinstalled several times and the same thing keeps happening.  Does anyone know what to do?

Ralph, both links you've posted point to the same place!
Ah, I see the second one is meant to lead to Tony's tip: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6571
That one applies for certain launch errors that can occur when iTunes has otherwise installed successfully. I've addressed the same issue in the first box of my tip.
What would be interesting to know is if Aswim does indeed have QTMovieWin.dll in their Program Files\iTunes folder, and if removing it allows iTunes to launch? It would seem that different error messages may be thrown up by different versions of the file on different versions of the OS. Perhaps many more people have been doing a complete rebuild than needed to.

  • My itunes will not open when I click on the icon. An system error appears. "the program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Any ideas on how to resolve, I have tried installing

My itunes will not open, it displays an error that MSVCR80.dll is missing. I tried reinstalling itunes but it fails because the service is not able to start.

Same thing happened to me. I ended up completely uninstalling itunes then downloaded it again from http://www.apple.com/itunes/.   If you're using firefox, for some reason itunes will not download and  I  don't know if using googlechrome will also have problems,so just to  be  sure that it will work on your first try, use internet  explorer  when you download itunes. Good LUCK!!

  • TS1368 When downloading the latest updateI get an error message MSVCR80.dll is missing

I have come up against an error created when downloading the latest update to itunes. This does not download and if you follow the instructions of going to tools and download manually then update it creates an error message of MSVCR80.dll is missing please reinstall and try again. This error message comes up all the time and to get around it I have had to reboot my system from a previous saved date and not do the latest download. I am now trying to get my itunes account sorted but it will let me access my music however, when I try to view the movies I have purchased it states itunes is not working properly and closes it down. I tried to email itunes but it said I had to use internet explorer which I was using, I had to download firefox and then delete all the rubbish which came with it before it would allow me to send them an email with my problems, what a joke! I am now losing all confidence in itunes and the latest downloads. So disappointing when it was working so well until now!
