Mtc Stratagy pacakage

Dear
My requirement is we have the mtc stratagy (time base). This also assigned to various mtc plan & running.
Package 1 -- 7 days-- cycle 1
2 - 14 DaysCycle 2
In these exist package i wants to add new package as per requirements (i.e 1 day cycle i wants to add) this shoudl come above all as first package .
But sap is not allowing to do. If allowing existing schdule will get probs.
My present requirement is i would like to use the same stratagy name.
Is it any solution ?

Dear,
do one thing just go in to the change mode of IP11 and select the package which u want to modify . and selst all cycle and delet it and den click new entries and enter ur new cycles as per ur requirement .

1. I have created task list mtc stratagy as XXX. but i need to change as YYY.
2. The same mentioned above for MTc plan
3. I would like call the Mtc order on key date
Example Pump has weekly, monthly tasks.
1. Weekly schdules i need for every month 1st, 8th, 15th,22th no need 29th .
2. We can call the monthly ops thro Key date . Here if i have mentioned in stratagy as 28 days instead of 30 days it will call?

i think it is not possible to change the maintenance strategy once assinged to task list,other option just try in the task list select the operation and select the maintenace package ,here delesect all the maintenance package alloted and then try to change it

How can change or control tempo in Logic8 with incoming MTC signal

Hi Logic users!
I need help about MTC synchronisation. How can I change tempo /follow tempo/ with incoming MTC signal in Logic 8.
Many musician and producer use Cubase and we need frequently use their tempo map. We use Soundscape HDR /there is our main equipment for audio recording – working very stable and reliably/ as MTC master because of I simply open in HDR any midi file exported from Cubase as „tempo map“ and Soundscape can read time information included in midifile and read and change tempo /so midifile i sused as tempo map./. In Cubase is very easy read incoming tempo information. You can switch in transport bar either „fixed“ tempo or „track“ for change tempo with tempo map or incoming MTC signal with tempo information but in Logic 8 I did not find any solution.
Our setup is: 2 SSL Soundscape HDR, Logic8, Yamaha DM2000 mixing console – Soundscape is MTC master. From SS I send MTC to all other gear/ to Mac with Logic8 and to Yamaha DM 2000 for mix automation etc./. Logic is sync very well to incoming MTC signal from SS so it is OK but don´t read incoming tempo information.

MTC (MIDI Time Code) is time based, not tempo based.
The tempo map will need to be recreated in Logic.
MIDI Clockb is tempo based but as of version 8, Logic no longer reads MIDI clock. Doubt if that would've worked anyway.

Strange issue with MTC

When I lock Logic to my Protools session via midi beat clock everything seems to work fine. But when I switch to locking by way of MTC, Logic seems to lock, I get the blue bar across the top of the arrange window, and the numbers in the transport start going, but no audio comes out of Logic and the SPL doesn't shuttle with the playback. Even in the syncronization window Logic shows to be receiving MTC, but nothing plays. BTW, I am only playing back midi tracks that are streaming audio from VIs.
The playback in MTC should look just like midi beat clock only with a tighter lock, right?

Success, I loaded Logic with a project that uses both audio and AUi tracks.
On the PC I ran CubaseSX3 sending MTC over standard MIDI cable to Logic. After getting the sync setting right Logic locked instantly to MTC.
In Logic, click and hold the synchronization button on the transport.
Select: "SMPTE Sync (MTC)
And: "Auto Sync In"
Click hold again and select Synchronization.
Under the tab "General"
"Auto Enable External Sync"
"Auto Detect Format of MTC"
Should be checked as per the previous operation.
"Validate MTC = Always
Bar Position 1 1 1 1 Plays at SMPTE 0:0:0:0.0
If SMPTE is not set at the above you will have problems,
type it in if necessary.
When you say that MTC is time dependant, does that mean
that it won't matter what the tempos are in Protools?
That is correct, MTC is the MIDI version of SMPTE.
Your format is time based not tempo/bar/beat based.
Anyway, got it working here and it seems quite solid.

Putawy stratagy

Hi
My requirement :
we have materilas with batch managed.
I want to place the materilas as per the capacity of the bin.
Mixed storage is not allowed, but same material with different batches should allow.
so I am using Addtion to existing stock stratagy and capacity check based on weight.
This is not working for different batches for the same materials and it is placing to different bins not consedering the capacity.
Please suggest any other stratagy to resolve the problem.

I have found out the following information that I hope you have to set it accordingly to your need:
When addition to existing stock has been defined as a putaway strategy for a storage type, the system places goods in storage bins that already contain the same material. With this strategy, the system searches for a storage bin in which the material is already being stored. A prerequisite for addition to existing stock is that
sufficient capacity still exists in the respective storage bin. If the system cannot find a storage bin with the same material or the capacity of the storage bin will not allow additional quants to be stored, the system switches to the "next empty bin" strategy, that is, it searches for the next available empty storage bin."
Amout the mixed storage options:
" B " Several batches per bin and storage unit
       Only one material number may occupy a bin. However,
       if the material requires a batch number, more than one batch
       of this material may be stored in the bin. Each storage unit
       may also contain more than one batch of the same material.
" C " Several batches per bin
       Only one material may occupy a bin. However, if the material
       requires a batch number, different batches of the same material
       may occupy the bin. You are not allowed to store different
       batches in a single storage unit.
About the two checks for your requirement:
1 . Same material
2. Multiple Batches
Because this strategy tries to add to bins which contain the material already (and if not a new bin is found) the strategy itself can look after the first condition. So I would suggest using:
" X " Mixed storage without restrictions
       Several material numbers as well as different batches may exist
       in both the storage bin and in individual storage units.
As several material numbers wouldn't be placed in the bin (as per the putaway strategy).

we need to carry the Condition based mtc order for objects. Ex: In our Centrifugal fans we are measuring the vibration suppose while measurement it reaches 8 mm. the orders has to create by the system .
I know some what the process is below
1. Charector creation
2. Meas. Pt
3. Meas. Plan
But in above charector the 8 mm that value where to enter ?
Meas pt means over estimate reading is reqd? overflow reading is reqd?
How the system will give order need to assign valuation code ?

Hi Thenna........
Condition based maintenance means Maintenance to be planned when a particular measurable value goes out of Limit as in your case for Centrifugal Fans. You have to create a Measuring point in respect of this equipment i.e. Centrifugal fan. Do not click on counter as due to this you are getting Counterflow reading. In Measuring Point screen, you can enter your target value & then on application toolbar, click on additional data, here you can define upper & lower limits, so that whenever value goes out of limit, system will warn you. For Measuring Point you need to know these.......

In the Business Pacakage 1.41 the manager not can edit skills for employees in his or her area of responsibility, but with the Business Pacakage 6.01there is a workset:Workset: Manager Self-Service: My Staff

Firstly if you are using an ITS based iview or service like PZ31 - this is no longer supported by SAP with
ECC systems 600 or higher (604 etc) due to the kernel 700 incompatibility with ITS 620 based service calls
- customers would have to adapt PZ31 themselves for use in integrated ESS environment
Regarding ESS in MSS workset --->
The ESS in MSS workset is replaced by the "Self-Service for My Employee"
iview. The manager can also use this area to carry out Employee
Self-Service (ESS) transactions on behalf of his or her employees,
provided that the manager has been assigned the required authorization
for these transactions. This is especially useful if the employee does
not have access to a terminal at his or her workstation.
This is available in workset Team -->Related Activities
This option requires Web Dynpro for ESS to be implemented
If you do not see this in BP 1.41 - you may need to mix the content of 1.0 and 1.41 roles
I would also look at note 786917 regarding PZ31 - there may be other ways of maintaining this in ERP
- there may also be corresponding ways of including or accessing this content in MSS

Updating playhead in Pro Tools (slave) from Logic (master) using MTC.

I have setup MIDI over LAN using the Audio MIDI Setup between two Macs and it works so far as when I hit play in Logic the Film in my Pro Tools picture machine seems to be in sync with the music coming from Logic. Questions:
1) When nudging the playhead in Logic left and right the corresponding timecode changes are not updated on the Pro Tools machine until you hit play again in Logic. Is there any way Pro Tools can update it's play head, timecode values and picture as I nudge the Logic playhead without pressing play again? It would be great to nudge the Logic session by one frame and see the update in Pro Tools accordingly.
2) When I hit play to stop the music in Logic the time code readings are not the same in each DAW how can this be remedied so that they are? Is something going wrong here? e.g. stopped @ 01:00:03:04 in Logic and Pro Tools reads 01:00:03:09.

Ok after more testing I have managed to get this working using a direct midi connection between the 003 and the laptop (using a Edirol UM1 and the 003). Here is what I did.
ProTools8LE as master running on MacPro:
1. Setup->Session
1a. Set the session start time to 00:00:00:00
1b. Time code rate =25
2. Setup->Peripherals
2a. Synchronization - MTC reader Port: Digi 003, Port 1
MTC Generator Port: Digi 003, Port 1
3. Set session tempo (eg: 120bpm)
4. Transport- hit the arrow on the right hand side of the transport window and select "Synchronization" then hit the GEN MTC button
LOGIC slave running on Laptop.
1. Connect MIDI i/o interface to ports on 003
2. Set session tempo to match that in PT (120bpm)
3. Settings->Synchronization
Sync mode = MTC
Auto Enable External Sync = yes
Frame Rate = 25 (same as protools)
Auto detect format of MTC = yes
Bar position 1111 plays at SMPTE 00:00:00:00 (this matches the setting in PT)
Thats it. This setup appears to be working on my rig. I still haven't got this to work over Network midi, and I still haven't got PT8LE and Logic 8 to work together on the same machine. Let me know how you go.

PO release stratagy

I am new to the work flow. I am working on PO relase stratagy work flow. I copied the standard work flow WS20000075.
Bimding ii also showing in green. But When I am creating the PO, the work flow item not coming in inbox. I check the PO release config also, it is every thing configured.
please help me to get the item in inbox.

As you are saying your workflow is triggering, but you are not getting the workitem in your inbox,
Please check
1. If the binding between event container & workflow container is properly maintained in Start events tab of basic header data.
2. Check if the task with dialog workitem step is maintained as general task and agent name is properly defined.
3. Check tcodes SWPC & SWI2_DIAG if the workflow has resulted into system dump or error.
If yes, please diagnose the same and let us know the reason.
4. Check with your functional consultant, where PO release strategy is in place. If no, trigger your workflow using the event CREATED and test.

Anybody know of a cheap MTC-syncable Quicktime player?

I've decided to offload my video playback to a second machine, and am looking for something that will play back a Quicktime movie synced to MTC, with the ability to adjust the size of the movie. Pro Tools is close, but the movie only fills about 1/4 of the screen at its largest. A second copy of Logic would be fine, but way too expensive for this little task. Logic Express would work fine if it has the same sizing options as Logic Pro, as would Cubase LE. Anybody have any ideas?

I've been working this way for years, but the picture always looked like s**t on my tube TV. The idea was that, now that I've upgraded to an HDTV, I'd get a much nicer picture by going DVI/HDMI instead of using an analog converter. But you got me thinking, and I plugged my DV converter box into the new TV and, whaddya know, it actually looks great and solves a problem for me. Using it as a TV instead of a monitor, there's a mode called "zoom" that neatly trims off the black bars on the tops (or sides, on a 4:3 image) and puts a great big picture there, just like I'd like it. SEND MTC from LOGIC to MOTU TRAVELER

In DP I can successfully 'generate form sequencer' SMPTE (in the MOTU SMPTE Console) - it follows the song position and sends the SMPTE time to the MOTU Traveler which I can then route via an analog out to external devices to sync with DP. I am able to sync up a Pro Tools session in another computer. Can't figure out how to get Logic to do this.
Nor can I figure out how to get LOGIC to read MTC sent to the IAC Driver from DP. Shouldn't LOGIC be able to chase another software application?

It really depends on the FX you're using.
Here are two simple examples:
1) Let's suppose you want to insert an external hardware compressor on Audio 1.
Insert I/O plug on Audio 1, with its output set to Bus 1 (instead of 1-2)
In the I/O plug, set the ins and outs to 3
Connect the output of your compressor to your interface, input 3 and the compressors input to output 3 on your interface.
In Logic, create Audio 2
In Audio 2, choose Bus 1 at its input, 1-2 as it's output.
Record your compressed track on Audio 2
Because you're creating a roundtrip through your interface, you'll create some delay. So when you're done, adjust the start of your new region on audio 2 to match that of audio 1. Be careful not to create a feedback loop while you're hooking all this up.
2) Let's suppose you want to use an external reverb unit. In this case, you probably want to use it on an Aux, and not record it, but have it available to send to from any track.
Let's use Bus 20 to send to your reverb unit.
Create an stereo bus return. Let's say Aux 20.
On AUX 20, choose Bus 20 as it's input, output 1-2
Insert I/O plug on AUX 20, and in that select Input and output to 3-4
Patch your reverb's input L&R to your interfaces 3-4 outputs.
Patch the reverb's outputs L&R to your interfaces 3-4 inputs
Now just send from your audio track(s) to your reverb on Bus 20, just like it's a plug-in reverb.
In this case, although you're also inducing latency, you can compensate for it in your reverb's predelay settings, as you're probably using some anyway, so just reduce it by the round-trip delay.
It's actually much easier to do than to type it out And there are alternative methods too, but hopefully this will help.

Syncing Logic and multitrack tape using smpte/mtc

Has anyone managed to sync Logic to multitrack tape using smpte/mtc without major drift ? If you've tried this, let me know your experience.

Never had a problem with wow and flutter - but I guess it depends on how good the tape machine is. I use a Studer A827, so it's not been an issue for me. I just use striped tape, usually at 15 ips, to record the basic tracks, and transfer a reference mix to PT and/or Logic, and transfer those files to Logic and carry on with overdubs, and only use the 24 track tapes again when it's time to mix. I'm not doing anything complex like sound to picture, or chasing the tape in the rest of the recording, so there may be issues lurking which I don't encounter.

Mtc Plan Probs

Dear Pm groups
Pls clear the following issues
While creating the mtc plan we are given the start date as past , but the package is mentioned. While schduling thro IP 10 the system issues error as No operations exist for the day.
But in same way if we are given the present period it is accesing. Is any exit is available in back ground?
Is it need to maintain the schduling period if we wants the future status? also after ip 10 is it need to go for ip 30. We are not always working with ip 30 , but orders are generating .

Hi Thenna,
Coming to your first issue......check the date from which the task list is valid........this message normally comes when date of scheduling is in past as compared to date of task list valid........if you want to have a maintenance plan from the back date, the task list assigned to it should also be valid from that date.
I dont think any user exit will help on this......
It is always gud to mention the scheduling period else after completion of Cycle duration, automatically system calculates the next date of call object.....
IP30 is used to generate the call objects within a particular duration of time......if you are not doing IP10, then at the time of running IP30, plz click on check box available on IP30 screen, immediate start for scheduling.........this will serve the purpose.
