MTO Strategy consider the stock in hand

Dear Experts,
AM new in MRP Field, pls advise me about pure MTO Strategy which consider stock in hand. MRP run should consider the available stock for net requirement calculation. I tried with strategy 20,but it is not consider the stock.Pls advise,
Regards,
Vijesh

Vijesh,
MTO by definition will only consider Sales order stock.  This is the main planning difference between MTO and MTS.  Thus, if you have generic stock on hand (not sales order specific) it is supposed to be  excluded from MRP planning.
If you wish for MTO planning to consider generic stock, you have to first convert the stock to Sales Order specific stock (Special stock type 'E') using a Material Movement transaction.  Or, you can stop using MTO and use an MTS strategy, such as 40.
For more info about MTO planning see http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_06/helpdata/EN/f4/7d2ed844af11d182b40000e829fbfe/frameset.htm

  • Do not consider the stock onhand during SNP.

    Hi APO specialists.
I'd like to run SNP plan that do not consider the stock onhand.
Material A is purchase item. and the forecast of material A has 400 qty.
and stock onhand is 200 qty.
But I want to make the purchase request as 400 qty.
    How to ?
Anyone who has the solution can reply this question.
    Thank you all.

    Hi,
Try following in separate planning book by copying standard planning book.
In a macro for stock balance change the step for calculation of stock on hand projected. In this step remove the function of INITIAL_STOCK.

  • Ways to consider the stocks provided to vendor on the MRP output

    Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement where the business want the stocks provided to vendor to be considered when running the MRP in plant.
This is a subcontracting vendor and when checking the MD04, the stocks was displayed as special stocks. Is there any way that we can consider subcrontract stocks for MRP?
I have checked already the MRP areas, but I since we have a lot of existing plants in our system. I intend to not use the MRP area as it might cause issues to planning in our existing plants. Is there any other way?
Please let me know your thoughts on this.

    Hi Elen,
I believe by having BAdI- MD_SUBCONT_LOGIC implemented in your system, you can consider Subcontracting Stock in MRP.
Check with technical team to do the needful coding.
    Hope it will help.

  • How to consider the stocks of other plants in MRP run

    Hello All,
I have a requirement in  which  A finished material which it´s planning and production is on PLANT 1 and and is transfered to plant 2 (there is no production and no planning on this plant, it is used for storage only). In that case, I would like the MRP to check the stock of finished material both in plant 1 and 2 for creating planned orders .
I know  this can  be possible  with APO .  but is there any other way round we can do this like MRP area or scope of planning or some z developemenmts.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Anupam Sharma

Is there any stock at production plant?  Where does the goods issue to sales occur?
If both plants can have stock and sales can occurs in both plants then it is the issue not only stock but also sales order consumption with planned independent requirement.  You need to have two BADI to do so.  First is the one you mentioned and the flexible PIR also (MD_PIR_FLEX_CONS).
If only storage plant has stock and sales occurs here, then you may want to explore special procurement type produce in other plant and make storage plant a planning plant.  The receipt of production order at production plant will posted into storage plant directly.
If sales occurs in storage plants, and there are stock in both plant, use special procurement type transfer from others (40 as standard).  When you run MRP, the system will check stock at storage plant first, then if shortage, create stock transfer request to production plant.  At production plant, the stock transfer request will be your demand to offset with stock there before create planned order.
Like other comments stated previously, SAP cannot handle the multiple plants planning very well.

  • Sales Block for order whose quantity exceeds % of available stock on hand

    Hello gurus,
I am wondering if there is standard SAP functionality that could enable the following scenario:
For a material in material group XYZ, if a sales order is entered that exceeds 50% of stock on hand, a delivery block is placed on the order.  If a sales order is entered that is under 50% of stock on hand, no delivery block is placed on the order.
The number 50% is arbitrary and would be specified based on the material group.  As well, this can be based on the material.  I'm hoping there is configuration out there that would block the delivery creation if an item on the sales order exceeded a pre-defined % of available, unrestricted stock in the plant.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Andy,
Let me summarise ur question - You have Material - A, B & C all of them belonging to a particular Mat. Group lets say - 444. Lets think if the stock of all the Materials - A, B & C is 100 CS's.
When a Sales order is created for Material - A for Quantity of 60 CS - You want a Delivery block.
If my understanding is yes, I think the requirement is too complex, but achiviable.
    Because -
    - If this can be achived its possible with only User exits, but the requirment is linked with Availability,
    - If we want to implement this in the Save user exit, the code has to go check the stock in availability and if the conditions are met needs to block the delivery,
    - you need to consider the stock situations as the re-scheduling will also be happening in the background,
    - Wht would happen if there are more than 1 material entered and both are different Material grounps. [Need to consider this scenario as well]
Instead of Delivery block - You can implement the changes to Reject the line if the % crosses. That is reason for rejection. As this is more specific to line item.
Create a Z* table and update it with the Material groups that you are planning to use. And give the %.
Implement the code changes in the Save user exit in MV45AFZZ to check this table for each material group and validate it and then compare the Ordered Quantity with the available stock of that material. Not sure though from where you want to get the stock figures.
I tried, but this might be a start. All the best.
    Thank you,

  • Stock on hand at a point in time

    Hi Experts
I am busy doing an inventory report in Crystal. I need to pull the stock on hand for all the items for each month (past 4 years, +-2500 items)
At the moment, i am taking inqty - outqty where date <= (beginning of each month)
My report is taking forever to process the info.
Is there any other way I can get the stock on hand at previous points in time? Or any tricks to help SQL process the data quicker?

    Hi Bradely,
I've a query pulling opening stock in qty from the system.
Through unions on all the transaction tables i'm pulling the data warehousewise.
    It hardly takes any time.
I'm trying to print stock value too. Which I'm unable to figure out.
If you want I'll pass that query.
Any idea about how to figure out stock value ?
    Thanks

  • Logic to get stock in hand.

    Hi All!
What is the logic for the stcok in hand.
There are several stocks like restricted stock, blocked stock, stock in quality inspection etc..
How can i get the total in hand
    Regards
    Praneeth

    Hi Praneeth,
The stock in hand is the quantity in Unrestricted use.
The quantity in the Quality inspection can be rejected or accepted.
If the quantity in the Quality inspection is rejected it can be sent to the blocked stock or scrapped.
If the quantity in the Quality inspection is accepted it comes to the Unrestricted-use stock.
So, the stock in the Unrestricted use is the stock in hand that can be used for delivey & billing.

  • How can config for SNP Aggregate only aggregate demand not stock on hand?

    Dear SCM Expert,
Now we want the system aggregate only demand and not aggregate stock on hand ( Stardard system aggregate both of them) so what i have to do?
    thanks so much.

    Hi
The stock on hand is a calculated key figure. It is calculated based on macros. So you have to write a macro or you can copy the stock balance macro logic from the standard detailed book. In the detailed book no aggregation is done. But to avoid aggregating stock on hand you have to put logic in the macro

  • Day's Supply, Stock On Hand, Safety Penalty and Delay Penalty

    Hi All,
    1. Day's Supply and Stock Hand at the Distribution Center
Checking the planning book, does the stock on hand KF represent also the day's supply? or only the receipts?
ex. of what i see in the planning book:
       receipt = 100, stock on hand = 100, day's supply = 7
There is also a case where I see 128 days as my day's supply but i have no stock on hand.
How is the day's supply determined?  How do I know the number of stocks it represent?
    2. Safety Penalty and Delay Penalty
If my safety penalty is higher than my delay penalty, will it be true that it will prioritize to meet the required safety stock rather than the demand?
Hope someone can help me on this.
    Thanks a lot.

    Thanks PATHAN Mahadalikhan.
    Additional Question.
    What if,
    D1
    Demand           300
    SOH                500
    Day's Supply     7
    D2
    Demand           300
    SOH                200
    Day's Supply     7
    D3
    Demand           200
    SOH
    Day's Supply     7
    D4
    Demand            0
    SOH                 0
    Day's Supply     7
    D5
    Demand            0
    SOH                 0
    Day's Supply     7
    D6
    Demand            0
    SOH                 0
    Day's Supply     7
*this will be like this until the end of the plan.
What can be the reason behind the day's supply reflected even if there is no more demand and Stock on hand?
    Thanks.

    Dear,
Strategy 25 will not consider the existing stock.
What you enter in MRP4 view ind/collective rquirement is applicable only for dependent requirement.

Run MRP in MD50 and then MD02 with palnning mode 3 deleted and recreated and check your result.

  • Can system consider the unrestricted stock when planned with MD50???

    Hi,
We have scinerio where FERT with Strategy 20 (MTO Process) is planned with MD50 against the sale oder. Every time Dependent items stock needs to be posted with Movement type 412E against that sale order or else dependent items stock though available in unrestricted is shown as unable against that sale order no. Enitre cost of the FERT material is accounted against sale order number.
Can we avoid posting of sales order stock?? can we make system to consider the unrestricted stock when planned with MD50.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    John

if u want to consume the unrestricted stock, why u implemented MTO??
what was the requirement to implement MTO, when u r asking such question in support............
check first requirement of the client.......if u think they need to consume unresc stock...i will say...implentation was very poor,

  • Availablity check in sales order considering the Raw material stock/procurement

    Hi Gurus,
Our client Production process requires  the availability check at order level to consider the procurement time required for the Rawmaterial (BOM component of the FERT, whose sales order is taken) in cases when this RM is not available in the plant, and Availability check should not consider this procurement time when this RM is available in the plant.
ie in first case, it should consider the total time for in-house production as well as the time required to procure the rawmaterials, along with all other times that we use like Gr processing time, packing picking etc.
In second case it should not consider the RM procurement time, but only the inhouse production time and other times as applicable.
To my understanding, Availability check at order level will only check the time given in the MRP view of the FERT, and it does not check anything about RM stock or RM procurement time.
Can you please give me some suggestions to meet this requirement of the client (client is into Food Product Manufacturing).
Your quick response will be very helpful

You can try with user exits intended for ATP as recommended in the following note based on material type:-
Note 1644443 - Documentation on User-Exits in the area of the availability
That is as and when ATP runs for a sale order, with any of the exits listed out in the above note, you can validate for the material type which would be different for components and accordingly, write a coding in such a way not to consider such of those components.  But ensure that the user-exits are critical and should be tested carefully as cautioned in the note.

  • Sales order availability check considering the ROH stock/procurement time

    Jobi

    Jobi,
Our client is not following Assemble to order or even make to order. The typical production process followed is neither make to order nor make to stock.
Understood, although I am not sure why you are telling me what he has today; since your client has already told you his existing solution is unsatisfactory.  I have described a solution that seems to meet the short list of business requirements that you described in your first post.  I suggest you offer this solution to your client, unless he has already told you that ATO is not acceptable for some other reason not mentioned in your post.
As already mentioned by the other experts Saurabh and Kiran and Mariano,  the requested functionality in general is not supported for MTS in standard ECC.  As always, anything is possible through enhancement or 'workaround', as long as the client has enough time and money, and you have sufficient skills to implement.
If the client is willing to implement APO, which is the standard SAP advanced planning system, such a solution (multi-level availability checking with MTS) is possible as standard.  Within the Global Available To Promise Module of APO there are a couple of ways to get at this type of ATP solution.

  • CM21 Strategy Profile with Setup Optimization but consider the requirements

    Dear guru.
A question about strategy profile in CM21
The system Is able to execute an automatic dispatch that optimize the setup time of the production order but also consider the requirements date in order that the production orders dispatched can cover the requirements without delay ?
    Thanks In advance

    Dear ,
The system Is able to execute an automatic dispatch that optimize the setup time of the production order but also consider the requirements date in order that the production orders dispatched can cover the requirements without delay ?
To answer to your query I would rather say that any operation  under an work centre have Execution time =Set up time +Processing Time +Tear Down Time  and also Inter operation time -Que time , Wait Time , Move Time .
Now when you dipatch the operation in CM21 , it cheks the available capacity on that date  and also compare with the total operation timimngs within schedule start and schedule finish date  and then dispach automatically if work centre is not overloaded otherwise it will pop up with a Scheduling Logg or else it will appear with an window that will show u Date , Work Centre , Operation , timie so that you can change according to WC load n availablity in alternate date .So In the strategy prfile if you click Display dates while dispatching u can obseve the same .
Now total  production order schedule start and schedule finsihe date will be considered and it will automatically chage as per the WC availabli capaciy while automatic dispatch .But u need to SAVE that to observe the changes in CM21.
    Hope it is clear
    Regards
