MTS and 8.1.6

Can anyone tell me if the problem with mts and error messages "Load Indicator not supported by OS !" in the alert log has been fixed in 8.16. I am running 8.1.5, and turning off mts fixes the problem. I will be migrating to 8.1.6 soon, and am trying to find out if the problem still exists.
Thanks

Corrections:
My application does not uses concurrent locks.
If there are concurrent locks with MTS instance hangs. Only two sessions can terminate instance on Oracle 8.1.6 with MTS.
So, it is a good idea to wait 8.1.7 up to the end of september. If this bug will persist, Oracle under Linux is not a good solution for Internet applications.

Hi,
There is no constraint or limitation in using the same production order type for MTS and MTO . Settings in requirement class and material master will mainly control whether the flow is MTS or MTO.

• Importing AVCHD .MTS and .M2TS files (Sony HDR-SR1) into iMovie 08

I've read numerous other threads about trying to get these files into iMovie 08 but I'm still having problems.
I can plug my camcorder in just fine and have it import directly off there. But for older video files that I took with this camcorder I have two folders. One with just the .MTS files that I pulled off the camcorder. And the other with the YYYYMMDDHHMMSS (.modd & .m2ts) files that I archived (using my sony software) on my pc way back when I was using my PC for video editing.
I created a .DMG that I copied everything from my camcorders HD to. I was able to mount this and iMovie 08 worked just like when I plug my camcorder in. But my problem comes when I try to work with the older .MTS and .M2TS files that I backed up. I was hoping that I could just put them in the
DMGIMAGE\AVCHD\BDMV\STREAM folder and have it import just like before but no luck there. Any ideas as to how I can go about pulling these old raw video files to work with in iMovie? Thanks.

• Export .mts and .mov footage to Mpeg4 before editing?

I finished audio-syncing and exporting all my video files (.h264 -- .mts and .mov to mpeg4) in Premiere Pro. Now I am ready to ingest all into Prelude for logging and making subclips. My question is--I have a lot of b-roll footage that does not require audio-syncing, but should I export this b-roll footage into mpeg4 files to match the rest of the footage before importing into Premiere Pro for editing??
Just a note: Adobe needs to seriously address the audio-syncing issue in Prelude if they want filmmakers to take an interest in using Prelude. It is a tedious, time consuming ordeal to import into Premiere and then back again to Prelude.
Thanks, guys!

• .mts and .m2ts HD movie files

I have a problem which thousands of other users seem to have as well. I read many discussions about it. Many opinions and no clear answer.
I have a Canon HF 100 HD camera. It generates .mts and .m2ts files which I want to edit in FCE 4.0.1.
1.) Is it possible to edit .mts or .m2ts directly or do I have to convert?
2.) What is the best converter software? I don´t mind paying for it
3.) Which is the best format FCE can handle? I want no loss of quality.
4.) What about ProRes? Does it work with FCE or only with FCP? Or do I have to use the Apple intermediate codec? How is the quality.
Thanks in advance.
Message was edited by: hoelp005

Hi and welcome to the forum!
1. FCE can not edit .mts files natively. However, it does support the AVCHD file format through the Log and Transfer process (check the manual for more info). If you have access to the full file directory or just plug in your camcorder and start Log and Transfer going within FCE, it should work fine without any need for extra conversion software.
2. You don't need extra software. If you transferred the clips to your computer without their directory structure you can use ClipWrap to convert.
3. FCE supports AVCHD frame sizes of 1440x1080 and 1920x1080 at frame rates of 60i/30p and 50i/25p. Shoot in one of those and edit in a sequence with properties to match.
4. FCE does not come with the ProRes codec and it is not supported within the program. AIC is a high quality codec that should fit your needs perfectly.

• Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 Trial Version - Error when importing mts and mp4 video files

First time using Adobe Premiere Pro (and I'm using the trial version). When I try to import an mts video file (and tried to import an mp4 file as well), I get the error: Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 has stopped working. And then the program crashes. Please help.
My computer specs: Windows 7 with Service Pack 1,Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4570 CPU @ 3.2GHz, RAM: 4.00 GB, System type: 64-bit

Hi Catherine,
Welcome to the Adobe forums.
Please try the steps mentioned below and check if it works for you.
1. Launch Premiere Pro and create a Project, go to File menu>Project Settings>Renderer and change the Renderer to Software only mode, delete previews if you get a prompt and then try to import the clip.
2. If step 1 fails or the Renderer is already on Software only mode, go to Start Menu and search for Device Manager, go into Display Adapters and Right click on the Graphics card to select Update driver software option, on the next screen choose "Browse my computer for driver software", then choose "Let me Pick from a list..." option and from the list select "Standard VGA Graphics adapters. You might need to change the screen resolution of your screen and once done restart the machine again.
Launch Premiere Pro and import the clip to check.

• Which is the better converter for mts and mpg files?

Ok, I just have a quick question regarding conversion software. Does anyone know which is better...PAVTUBE or CLIPWRAP2? Besides the cost...pavtube is cheaper. Which one is faster and offers the best quality? OR is there even a better one out there? I have mts files and mpg files I'd like to convert for use in FCP 6.

• MTS and MSMQ

I had a component based system running on SQL Server. I am in
the process of porting it to Oracle. I have few components who
use older RDO technology to connect to database while most of
others using ADO.
Microsoft have implemented the change from RDO to ADO in such a
way that on SQL Server, a transaction can combine both types of
connection in a transaction safe way. This includes features
such as Message Queue messages − if the transaction fails, the
messages concerning that transaction are removed from the
message queue.
Does Oracle support this? What should I do to avoid changing or
minimal change in the code of my components.

Hi Basi,
Well all the other lads said is right but, Why 40 means?
It have both the requirement types which mean ::: It will accept the Customer Order & you can also do the Planned Independent Requirements.
You have to go for MRP GROUP and create a MRP GROUP in which you can have all kinds of options ok.
NOTE:
If you use 40 STRATEGY:
1) Customer requirements will be Passed on to Production.
2) Sales orders that exceed PIR can be influnce the Production.
3) The most improtant factor is the ability to react flexibly to customer demend.
4) PIR's are allocated and reduced during sales order processing.
5) PIR's will not be reduced at goods issue for delivery.
As of your Requirement is to Maintain both MTO and MTS for that 40 STRATEGY is best.

• MTS and JDBC drivers

I having trouble getting MTS to work with 8.1.5 on solaris, I think the problem might be that my clients are using the JDBC thin drivers (in classes111.zip). Should this work?

Yes, but what made me suspect JDBC was the doc says the listener sends back a "reconnect" to tell the client to reconnect to the selected dispatcher. I wasn't sure this was working, since LSNRCTL> SERVICES indicated connections going to the dispatchers but I was getting connect errors back from the JDBC library. Another odd thing is LSNRCTL> SERVICES shows two entries for my service -- both with the same name. The first has a dedicated server only, and the second has a dedicated server and dispatchers.

• .Mts and .Mpeg

Hi all
I have to different video clips, one is a .mts file 1920 by 1080 and the other is a MPEG file 720 x 576 both are running at 25pfs. I need to edit them and then export them so they look the same. However, not sure how best to go about this, there are so many settings. At the moment when i export the .mts file has black bars across the top and bottom and the mpeg file has a big black area around the whole piece... can anybody help advise how i get these clips to look the same when exported? Should i convert the .mts file to an mpeg ?

Both need to be played on a website, so should i make the make the .MTS file which is bigger the same size as the .MPG clip ?
That, or pick/create a sequence that is smaller than both, and scale the clips to fit it. With the web, you're not locked into any particular export dimensions; practically speaking, you can create any size video you like.
In your case, you're dealing with two different aspect ratios--the 720x576 is 4:3 (with non-square pixels), whereas the 1920x1080 clip is 16:9 (with square pixels). So, you need to decide how much of either clip you want to see in the exported video. If you go with a 4:3 sequence, you can fully fit the 4:3 clip, but you'll either crop off the sides of the 16:9 clip if you scale it to height, or you'll see black bars (letterbox) on the top and bottom if you scale it to width. Of course, you could squeeze the video, but that wouldn't look too good.
If you go with a 16:9 sequence, you'll want to start with one smaller than the dimension of your 4:3 clip; you'd then scale the 1920x1080 clip to fit both height and width, and then you'd scale and position the 720x576 clip to reveal what you wanted to see. You could also scale it to height, and then you'd see black bars (pillarbox) on the sides.
The bottom line is that you either have to lose a bit of the image, regardless of the aspect ratio you choose, or you preserve all of the image, but you create black bars. Choose your poison

• Oracle10g Services for MTS and Oracle 9i

Hi,
I would like to know if Oracle10g Services for MTS 10.1.0.4.0 is compatible with Oracle 9i?
Can i enlist 10g + 9i servers at the same transactions?
Thanks

Vista. Are you using ODAC for Windows Vista?
Found here:
http://chanmingman.spaces.live.com/?_c11_BlogPart_BlogPart=blogview&_c=BlogPart&partqs=cat%3d.Net
look for "Oracle Database and ODAC for Windows Vista"
or
ORA-00161: transaction branch length string is illegal (maximum allowed string)
Cause: An external transaction branch ID with a length either too large or 0 was passed in.
Action: Report the problem to your external transaction coordinator vendor.
or
I also found a newer doc in Metalink: Note:400831.1 but this is for 9.x so might not apply to you.

• MSDTC, Vista, Oracle Services for MTS and TransactionScope

Hi there,
We're using .NET 2.0 TransactionScope on a Vista client. By default this will create a distributed transaction using MTS which will then be proxied using Oracle Services for MTS. However we consistently get the following error:
ORA-00161: transaction branch length 100 is illegal (maximum allowed 64).
According to this thread http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=943955&SiteID=1 Microsoft made some changes in MSDTC in Vista which are likely to have caused this problem. They say they were co-ordinating with Oracle to determine an appropriate fix.
Is this an acknowledged issue? Has it been fixed and if not, when will it be fixed?
Kind Regards,
Dean Ward

FYI, the following code reproduces the issue...
using (TransactionScope txScope = new TransactionScope())
using (OracleConnection oracleConnection = new OracleConnection("Data Source=Test;User Id=Test;Password=Test"))
oracleConnection.Open();
using (OracleCommand oracleCommand = new OracleCommand("SELECT 'Test' FROM Test", oracleConnection))
oracleCommand.Connection = oracleConnection;
using (OracleDataReader oracleDataReader = oracleCommand.ExecuteReader())
while (oracleDataReader.Read())
System.Console.WriteLine(oracleDataReader.GetString(0));
txScope.Complete();
}

• Trouble with FCP7, .mts, and Log and Transfer

I'm trying to upload footage from a Canon Vixia S200, and Log and Transfer won't work. For reference, the footage is stored on the SD cards in the camera rather than internal memory. When I tried Log and Transfer for an older Vixia that used internal memory, Log and Transfer worked. Is there some way around this?

FCP 7 doesn't work with 1080p60. That format came out after it's last update. You need to use ClipWrap2 to convert the footage to ProRes 422...or use another editing app that will work with this footage.
