MTS file playback in CS6

I upgraded to CS6 on my editing machine from CS5. When I import an MTS file into CS6 and play it back on the timeline the playback drops frames and the sync between video and audio lags and drops out. I can do the exact same thing with the exact same clip in CS5 and everything plays back fine. I have the exact same seq settings in both. Playback is through Black Magic video card version 7.5.5 Anyone have a clue what the problem is?

See if this applies to you...

  • Unable to link media to MTS files in Premiere CS6 after updating to 10.8.3

I am now unable to link media(MTS files)  in Premiere pro CS6 after updating to 10.8.3.  Instead of the folder where the MTS files where there is now "AVCHD" with the quicktime symbol.  When I control click, it just offers me with the quick look option.   Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.

*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

  • Why Poor DVD quality Encore CS6 with Sony FS100 MTS files from PPro CS6

I am using PPro CS6 on a MAC Pro Quad zenon with Boot Camp. On PC side I was using PPro CS6 & Encore CS6 with MTS files from  Sony NX 5U with NO Problems.
I just started using a Sony FS100 recording 1080i (60) format MTS files. When I Dynamic Link to Encore, the quality of the image is very soft compare to image from previous
projects with MTS files from Sony NX 5U.When I open a previous NX5U project, it still displays and creates an excellant dvd.Need help in solving problem.

Thanks for the advice. I tryed your method with same results.
I then tried changing project quality settings with somewhat better results
    but not good enough results.
I looked at some of my previous dvds that used mts files from my Sony NX5U
and the quality was much better
that any results I am having using the Sony FS100 mts files. Even still
pictures do not look good now in Encore.
I then tried using Roxio Creator 10 Pro to make a dvd.
The results were excellant! Video files and stills are great.
I noticed that Encore CS6 is using the "Main Concept" codec to transcode.
Has something changed in the basic
settings with my Encore and can I reset my Encore to original defaults???
Any advice would be welcomed...Thanks again.

  • MTS File Playback Error

Hello everyone...Ok so I had a MTS File based project on the go and installed the latest update now nothing plays back?? Why is this and what do I need to adjust/change?
    Regards,
    Samuel.

Need to know some of those things that are in the "Announcement" listed at the top of the Overview page, what you are supposed to include in a request for help. We can't guess your system OS, CPU, video card, disc layout, and SPECIFIC program version to the dot-X. Also the camera used and if the footage has been through any plugin or converter ...

  • CS6 problems AVCHD MTS files

Forgive for bad English. I hope, the thought is clear. I got OEM Production Premium CS6 with MXO2 mini. I received a problem known for all... My problems when playing AVCHD MTS were solved by program converter installation, in fact, additional codecs. Now everything "flies"!
    Win7, 32Gb RAM
Details ask. Better in Russian :-)

When attempting to play the .MTS files in import I'm getting the 'dropped frames' error message:
"Issues that may affect playback include available memory, disk speed, graphics performance, and processor performance.
You may be able to get better performance by doing the following:
    - Use proxy playback by changing the Media setting to 'Proxy' in the Viewer Options pop-up menu. (Requires proxy media.)
    - Optimize your source clip media."
Could the lack of RAM in this iMac actually cause the video to speed up in FCPX? (weird)

  • HT5409 Can you turn this function off? I am having issues linking offline media(MTS files) in Adobe Premiere CS6

New imac with 10.8.4.  With the new avchd coverter, I am not able to link offline MTS files in Adobe Premiere CS6.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Adobe hasn't updated it's products to look inside the avchd packages.
You'll have to do it for them.
Right-Click on the avchd package (or whatever it is called). Choose Show Package Contents.
Keep digging into the internal packages in a similar way until you get to the folder with the mts files.
When you tell Adobe to open a file, just drag the mts file into the Open File dialog. If it cannot maintain that link, you might have to move the files to some other location Adobe can process.

  • Premiere Pro CS6: No sound importing .mts files

    Hey,
    My Setup:
    - Adobe Premiere Pro CS6
    - Windows 7 x64
    My Problem:
I bought a DLSM (Panasonic Lumix G6H) and recorded five hours of footage using AVCHD 50p. I imported the .mts files into Premiere and got no sound at all. Whenever I open the .mts with VLC or WMP there is sound.
I spent numerous hours trying to find a solution for this problem, but unfortunately none of them worked for me.
At this point I'm quite frustrated, I NEVER create accounts to ask questions, because usually they are answered - but this time i couldnt manage to overcome this issue.
    I already tried:
    1) Copy the entire folder structure - didnt work
    2) Rename the .mts to .m2ts - didnt work
    3) Using the Media-Browser when importing the files - didnt work
    4) Rename it to .avi - didnt work
    5) Downloaded "Any Video Converter" as my last resort.. there is no option for 50p .m2ts (which might work) - not satisfying

  • HELP!!Choppy/Glitch Playback using Panasonic tm700 MTS File

    Issue: Choppy/Glitchy playback
    Video File: .MTS
Camcorder: Panasonic TM700 Recording at 1080/60p
Hours Spent reading forums before post: Infinite
    Level of agitation: Insane
Computer: Brand new Dell Studio XPS
                       Intel i7 Quad @ 2.8 Ghz
                       8 GB Ram
Geforce GT220 1GB designated (kinda weak i know but good enough)
Apparently Premiere hates MTS files =[
Anyways, I am getting the red bar on the timeline so I know my settings arent aligning with my source material.  The issue at hand is
that the material taken from my camcorder is taken at a 60p framerate and I do not see this option in the available presets.
What do I DOOOO?!!?!?!  The field order is set to progressive scan.  I updated all drivers, installed codecs, and am
hooked up to an HD monitor.
I'm actually pretty new at this so dont bash me if this is a simple fix.  Thank you for your timee!

Tune your system as best you can: Adobe Forums: Guide for installing and tuning a Vista... which says Vista but also applies to Win7.
Apart from that not much you can do apart from investing more money in a Dell system, which usually is the same as having them steal you blind. You can't overclock a Dell, due to the crippled BIOS, you can get more memory, 8 GB is cutting it thin, but the prices they charge for that...
You can improve your disk setup yourself without intervention (stealing) by Dell, but your CPU is not the fastest and with AVCHD it is usually the CPU that is the main bottleneck. One of the drawbacks of an i7-860 on a P55 mobo.

  • MTS files in CS6 Ppro project stopped working and can't be imported anymore

In a project from 2013 (PPro CS6) some of the MTS files stopped working. When I try to relink or replace the footage, I get the message that the file has a unsupported compression type. I never got this message before. About 70% of the MTS files in my project have this, the remaining clips work fine.
Did anyone have this too, or does anyone know a solution?
Thank you in advance for the replies.
    Best regards,
    Joshua

I tried to add the newer TLF swc to FLash CS5 (pointing to it in the library path), but it didn't work.
So, we'll wait till Flash team releases next update.

  • Cannot Load CS5.5 Projects Into Premier PRo Cs6 when they contain MTS files

I recently installed My Upgraded Version of CS6 from Disks Sent by Adobe. After doing so, i can no longer see CANON MTS files, they open as Offline Media and it also cann not be replaced or re-imported into the Project. In CS5.5 they still open normally. I even imported correctly into After Effects CS6, adn they were viewable. Premier Pro Twitter help Says Solution maybe to start fresh with a new project?? This isnt REALLY a viable option since i have a TON of CS5.5 Projects that contain Canon MTS Files. So if there are any other suggestions i am ALL EARS!!!!

thansk i did find the solution, i actually thought i was in the Premier Forum. incase any one finds this, Cs 5.5 With MTS files in the project did not initially Load IN CS6. i had to add another Sequence Set to AVCHD in the Sequence presets, then Re-link the MTS files per folder and all files showed up, i hope that helps any one looking for this answer

  • How do I save individual edited MTS files in CS6

how do I save individual edited MTS files in CS6

Set the work area on the timeline to the limits of the clip that you want to export.  Then File>Export>Media.
You need to consider what the exported file is intended for, so you can determine a suitable format and preset for the export.

  • Premiere cs6 drops in mts files

    hello
when I am using a panasonic mts file 1440X1080 25i, I am getting a drop frames
as you can see in this example
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ed-R8qMXBo&feature=youtu.be
it's only occur in this file type, and as you can see its showing in the drop from another footage in the same project.
when I am restarting premiere the drop disappear. and then shown in another place on the project.
At first (when I start the project) everything work fine, but when the project become complex (multicam, and more.)  this bug starts appearing.
Currently to overcome the problem I convert the files (with premiere) to JEPG then everything works properly.
I'd love to hear responses on this strange problem.
(And may whoever invented the damn file called MTS will Go to hell with pannsonic).
