I doubt that would be case although as others say it may depend on the speed you get through powerlines which may be affected by the wiring in your house. You can normally tell by the colour of the lights on the adaptors - green meaning you get the highest speed, then amber, and then red if you get less than something like 4meg transfer between the two. This is completely unrelated to your actual broadband speed bythe way, it's just the max transfer rate between the two powerline adaptors.

Can't load South Park or any comedy central videos.
Only thing that loads is the annoying commercials. IE crashes on all my computers, firefox gives me 5sec of video then black screen.
Hi, today I bought a new rerouter thinking my connection was too slow for CC. No luck. Back to the old router. I have tried EE eplorer 32 and 64 bit. the 64 bit doesn't work with flash drive, so I went back to 32 bit. Add blocker is turned off, I even turned protected mode off. I spent the whole day setting up networks, cdonnections, Internet access, all that networking and sharing stuff. Easy? What a ball of yarn, say I to MS. I finally called the manufacturer of the rerouter, any help, of course not. Then I went to comedy Central and tried various ideas out, the commercials work just beaugtifully, and I'm getting so tired of them.
Why is there no comedy Central help? Everything I do is like hitting my head against a rock. I'm at my witts end. No help any place? Thank you for trying, I hope there is an idea left yet, but I'm sure not coming up with one. -
Video no longer plays from sites on comedy central. Site says browser must be updated, but I have installed all updates and restarted the computer..twice.
If it is any consolation this started happening to me today. I am in Toronto. I am wondering if there is a copyright issue here. I have done nothing to solve it - mostly because I suspect this has nothing to do with my computer.
p.s. My speculation about copyright is not correct. Comedy Central plays fine with Google Chrome. Have not yet tested Firefox. -
Comedy Central HD not working for me, but SD is?
I noticed this the other day, i am using a Tivo HD with cablecard, and for some reason channel 690 comedy central HD just says searching for signal. But the SD channel 190 works fine, any else seen this?
That usually means that the signal on that channel is not strong enough to give you a pic. First thing to try is to disconnect the coax from the cable card and then reconnect. Sometimes re-seating the cable is all you need. Also make sure that all the coax connections (at the cable card and at the wall/splitter) are tight.
If that fails try swapping out the coax cable. could simply be a bad cable. Yes a bad cable can affect only individual or random channels.
If all else fails you may need to contact tech support to have a tech come out and check the signal strength

The Daily Show with John Stewart has just been taken off the FIOS/Comedy Central programming! Are you kidding me? This is an award-winning news commentary show...in an election year!! Either there's a contract negotiation going on or some right-wing "decider-in-chief" has lost his mind. I purchase the FIOS package I have, based on the shows I watch regularly. This is one of them. Do I get a rebate or do I need to look for another carrier? I'm smokin' over this one.

Problem downloading Comedy Central
I have tried several times to download the Comedy Central podcast and it keeps telling me there was a problem downloading. I have unsubscribed and subscribed again several times but still get the same problem.
I went to the website and tried to report a concern and also got an error stating requested resource was not found.
I see it is at the top of the list of downloads so it must be working for other people.
I download other Podcasts without difficulty. Can someone help?Hello Evilpaul,
There are only two standard menu selections on a set top box that control picture options as follows:
Menu > Settings > > Video Settings > Video Format: Ensure it is on 720P 16:9
Menu > Settings > > Video Settings > SD Override: You can choose one of 3 options (Off, 480i, 480p, and stretch) for SD broadcasts
Beyond that you will need to visit your TV sets internal options for settings such as zoom, aspect ratio, wide mode, etc... The Comedy Central 690 channel is an HD channel however from time to time there are shows or live casts that are not sent in HD formats for us to deliver to you. You may see words on the side bars such as 570 ESPN does on some shows that are sent in SD formats.

Fix for video like Comedy Central not playing on MacBook Pro
MacBook Pro has stopped playing streaming video from a number of websites, e.g. Comedy Central.
Spinner spins then stops and player window is black.
Have latest Flash player.
Have tried different ISP connections.
Have tried different browsers.
Rebooted numerous times.
Removed excess plugs from browsers.
Have tried wired and wireless.
Still not playing video from a number of websites, e.g. Comedy Central.
Any suggestions? Highly frustrated at moment as I have no TV and was relying on my MacBook for entertainment.

Way creepy that comedy central requires this to be enabled to let you play their video. If you clear all your local flash data and then enable the third party storage and hit CC, you'll see new flash cookes from two domains: media.mtvnservices.com and secure-us.imrworldwide.com. I turn the above setting on just to watch clips on CC, then turn it back off and clear all the flash cookies. Probably not that important to do so, but it isn't too bad. -
Watching Comedy Central on my mac 10.8.5
My system is wireless and I use chrome browser, but Comedy Central is fraught with hang ups and stalls. How can I improve it?
First, so you can get a baseline to compare, do a test of your internet speeds. Speedtest.net by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test
What kind of internet service do you have, and what kind of speed are you supposed to get? If you are not getting the speed you should be getting, then maybe you should call your ISP and see if they can fix it.
What kind of wireless router do you have? I had a lot of difficulty with my wireless until I got an apple router. I have a whole drawer full of crappy cheap routers. Linksys, mostly. The airport extreme is way better.
Try resetting the whole system:
power down all your hardware: modem, router, and computer. With the modem and router, unplug the power cords.
wait a few minutes
power up the modem and let it fully start up.
power up the router and let it fully start up.
power up your computer.
This might improve things. Test your speed again to compare.
Your modem might be the problem; you can take it back to your ISP and they'll swap it out for a new one.
Try a different location for your router.
Try a different channel for your router. Sometimes there is interference from a nearby signal.
If it's just comedy central, maybe the problem is with them. Maybe their server is just slow!
Maybe someone is stealing your bandwidth. Make sure you have some security enabled on your router.

Comedy Central HD pixelated, Bad customer service.
I've been having a problem with my service for at least a week. Comedy Central HD is pixelated, and the sound cuts out. I have tried on multiple occasions, and on multiple days to call tech support. Calls to tech support run me to a "it appears tech support can not solve your problem" and procedes to drop me back to the main menu. At no point during the call can i talk to anyone, or even explain what the problem is.

Go to Solution.Call 888-553-1555 and when you get to the automated service and it asks for your phone number. Dont give it. Just say "agent". you may have to say it a time or two. Then you should get a simple menu. You want option 2 for FIOS and then option 2 again for REPAIR. This should get you to a live person without having to deal with the automated system. Thats how I get through when I need to talk to them.

But before you do any of that. Try disconnecting the coax input on the back of the STB and then reconnect it. You'd be supprised at just how often that will clear up a problem that only affects a few channels.

Video Podcast (Comedy Central) won't download
I have 80GB video iPod, model MA450LL, Version 1.2.1. When I try to get the "Comedy Central" video podcasts, I get measge that they are not copatible with my iPod. I have reset it, to no avail. the episods appear in iTunes with length time of 0:00:00.
All other video podcast, movies TV etc. download OK and sync to iPod.
Since the Comedy Central podcasts are among the favorite comedy downloads I'm sure there must me something wrong on my end.
Any ideas?

I also accidentally downloaded "lil kim" song called "this is a warning" and need to be reunded on all those ?

Problem with Fios TV Central and my Home Media DVR...
I have had Fios for some time and I'm upgraded to the new 1.6 img. I can see and my vz media center works with the home dvr and the other stb's can view dvr recordings from the dvr.
My problem is after logging into the Fios TV Central site it never finds my dvr.....it scans for some time then says there is a problem and to try later. I have done everything (I think) that was required to activate this on my dvr and the tv central site. I've rebooted the actiontec, unplugged and plugged in the dvr stb and the other stb's one at a time with no change.
Any suggestions?

Here's what the tech that came out to the house did.
We first went through the simple stuff and he called his tech guys which didn't really know what could be the problem since this is BETA.
Finally he had to leave but came back the next evening to replace the MI424WR router and the DVR.
He did the router but there system to register was down Friday evening so he had to put the old DVR back and come back the next week.
He finally came back on Tuesday morning and installed the new DVR and it registered ok.
Then you have to wait for the Fios TV Central and the DVR to update.....takes a couple of hours usually.
I finally was able to set up FTVC and it's working both from my computer and from my cell phone.
IT WORKS!!!!!!!!! Yes!
I think it was the DVR personally because that was the last piece of equipment we replaced and it started working.
