Does anyone know what video format MTV or VH1 takes to air music videos?
MacBok Pro / Power Mac G5 Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Probably the best people to ask would be MTV and VH1, not a group of Final Cut Pro users. If you are doing a client job for them, they should have told you already, and if they haven't, it's not at all unprofessional for you to ask. If you're just submitting something for some kind of contest, I'm sure they'll convert it to whatever they need anyways.

I have no sound only when I try to play videos on mtv.com. There is no sound. I restarted, uninstalled, reinstalled but still no sound and this is across all browsers.

Hi, I would contact the website since it doesn't seem to be Flash Player or your browsers. If it were you would experience no audio on all sites.

MTV Awkward season 2 missing on V1 software

Hi All,
Could someone please tell the mods that Season 2 of awkward is missing on the V1 Software. It does say season 1 & 2.
It would make my life a lot easier as my teenage daughter has been giving me grief about switching back to Sky because it's been on MTV a while ago and although she was excited it was there as season 2 it's not.

Hi Gf,
Awkward Season 1 and 2 will be available on BT Vision from 01/01/2013. It's not currently being aired on on either the Classic, Cardinal or YouView service.

Does Apple TV work with VH1's app TV Everywhere

I just downloaded the new VH1 app TV Everywhere, but it doesn't seem to be compatible with Apple TV. Can anyone confirm this? Maybe I'm not understanding how to make Airplay work with this app?

Make it up in Title 3D, left aligned. Put it on top of your video in the timeline. Open the title from the title and in the controls use the position crosshair button to position the lower third on the title safe box.

VH1 pop up video plugin?

I'm an amature imovie user, looking for a way to add an plugin to imovie similar to that seen in VH1's pop up video. Trying to add the "pop up" information bubbles for a wedding video under production. Has anyone seen anything like this or know where one could go about finding one?

I think you can try two things : the soft reboot, and if it does not work, the hard reboot. Don't worry, you can't lose data with these two reboots.
Soft reboot :
1) Hit the three following keys at the same time :
- Alt
- Left Shift
- Delete
2) wait 2 minutes for the Blackberry to wake up.
Hard reboot :
1) your Blackberry device is on
2) remove the battery and wait for a minute
3) Put the battery back
4) wait 5 minutes for the device to wake up.

I'm having the same problem in Hampton Roads, Virginia. MTV works (though most stuff looks like SD, and is in 4:3) and Comedy Central and VH1 will either continue to show the previous channel's stuff, or it'll just give me the "channel unavailable" message.

Backstrom Episode 1 Missing From Non-HD and TV Channel Problems On Demand

Hi, I noticed that the first episode of Backstrom is missing for non-hd though it is up there for hd viewers. I have also noticed all of a sudden that most of the tv channels I'd watch on demand or be able to watch, now all say free with subscription and I have no idea why. I am now not able to see any shows on A&E, ABC Family, AMC, BBC America, BET, Bravo, CMT, Comedy Central, Cooking Channel, Destination America, Disney Channel, E!, Encore, Food Network, FX, FXX, FYI, HBO, History, Lifetime, MTV, NickMom, OWN, Oxygen, Showtime, Spike, Starz, SundanceTV, Syfy, TBS, TeenNick, TLC, TNT, TV Land, TV One, UP, USA Network, VH1, and WE tv. I also am not able to watch all the free movie networks either. Please put the Backstrom first episode back up for non-hd and please fix whatever problem is going on with all the tv channels on demand that I am now not able to see when I was able to before. Thank You!!!!!

I completely understand your frustration because those are both great shows! I hope you can get the episodes soon. While I understand and believe what you are saying, I also know for sure that I have seen complaints from other FiOS users that episode 123 or program xyz is not available on VOD, yet when I go to VOD that episode or show is there and I can view it. So sometimes there apparently are timing differences (and maybe other differences) between VHOs or DACs or wherever the VOD stuff is hosted.

VHS importing sound problem

When I play back the imported movie, the buzzing sound overides everthing. I can hear some conversation but the buzzing is overwhelming. I've changed the VCR and the problem continues. I was using iMovie 4 and I had the same problem.

I have been having problems with staccato noise in iMovie and FORMC studio TVR recordings for years. In OS X you have to install Studio TVR320.dmg form the FORMAC website, if you can get your registration to work. (If you have a long e-mail address, it will not take your registration.)
You will have to install the program and set the iMovie setting in the preferences. The problem is NOT in iMovie, it is an audio format miss match between FORMAC and QuickTime. Remember, ALL media files created by Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express and iMovie are saved as QuickTime Movies.
The same is true for media files created in Studio TVR. You can see and hear them fine when you are importing them, but if you don’t change the iMovie options in the FORMAC Preferences, the saved file will have the audio incompatibility imbedded.
Now remember that EVERY time you update QuickTime, you will have to go into the FORMAC preferences (check the Software Update every time it runs!). and reset the iMovie options. Also, for some reason, if you use the Scheduler options in FORMAC Studio TVR 3, you will get that stupid staccato sound! This is the most frustrating problem I have with my system.
Also, you can hook up your cable network to you VCR (I assume that is what you are using to play your videos through the FORMAC) and record your favorite music videos from, like, VH1 or MTV, save the files and drag them into the LIBRARY window of iTunes. (Not the Video folder!) iTunes will put them into the Video folder and you can watch your favorite music video on your system or drag the videos right out of the iTunes window into iDVD. Now, you can play then through your DVD player and TV.
Have fun and try not to get too upset. I hope that this will solve your problem,
