Mu macbook pro 2012 wont start it goes into this i cant get anything help please
my macbook pro is only on safe mode, was working fine then plugged in battery charger and it came up with a funny screen and voice asking what language i wanted i did disc repair but it said it didnt need it all i can get into is the help line PLEASE HELP
Adam,
if preserving your files is worth your effort, then copy them to an external drive; if not, then don’t. Once you’ve preserved whatever you care to, go back into Disk Utility from Recovery mode, select your internal disk from the left-hand side of the window (probably the first item in the list), and select the Erase tab on the right-hand side. In the Format dropdown, select “Mac OS X Extended (Journaled)”; in the Name textbox, enter the name for your reformatted volume (“Macintosh HD” is typical); and then press the Erase… button. Once the erasure is completed, exit Disk Utility, and then select Shut Down from the Apple menu. When you power it up, OS X Internet Recovery will download your MacBook Pro’s original version of OS X from Apple’s servers, and then reïnstall it. When it restarts after the installation, run Software Update to bring it up-to-date, and then copy your preserved files back to your internal disk.

How do I connect my Mac Book Pro to a projector I have the adapter but cant get anything on the screen
Go to your "screen settings". then chose "find screen" then you vill find the prosjector.
this will probably fix your problem.
if this dont works can it be something wrong with your adapter.

Macbook pro 2010 wont start up?
My wife used my macbook pro in battery mode until it went flat and died on her. She plugged it in to recharge and when she tried using it again it just opened the first grey screen (with spinning wheel) and stayed like that!! Ive tried some suggested reboots to no avail and now it opens grey screen with spinning wheel and a bar apears below for a minute or so then it just closes down again. Any ideas guys??? Cheers:)
Well, I´m the geeky type of guy, so I have quite a lot of computers, so what I did is I took the hard drive out of my MacBook Pro and inserted it into a 2.5" external enclosure, then copied the files i wanted on to another computer.
Then put hard drive backing computer and insert a Mac OS 10.6.3 Snow Leopard install disk > partition the hard drive and install Snow Leopard > copy the data from the computer that you have previously copied the data on to a memory stick or a external hard drive and transfer it to your MacBook Pro
Thats what i´ve done
hope this helps!

Macbook Pro - Applications wont start without External Display
Hi all,
Apologies if this question has already been answered, but I have spent a lot of time Googling to no avail...
I have an early 2011 15" MBP with the following spec:
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro8,2
Processor Name: Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 6 MB
Memory: 8 GB
Boot ROM Version: MBP81.0047.B24
SMC Version (system): 1.69f1
AMD Radeon HD 6490M / Intel HD Graphics 3000
Snow Leopard Mac OS X 10.6.8
I normally use the MBP with a 27" Cinema Display connected (mini display port/thunderbolt connector) and the clamshell shut. All is fine.
However, if I remove the external monitor and want to use the MBP with just its own display, some applications will not start. They bounce int he dock for a while and then hang, and need to be forcibly killed. Not all applications behave this way, but so far I have experienced this with Aperture 3.2, Omnigraffle, Parallels, Pixelmator.
Does anyonw have a clue whats going on and how to fix?
ThanksHi Grant & Bob
Thanks for your responses.
The adaptor has been removed from the Mac, and I have tried all the obvious solutions (like using detect displays), but to no avail.
I will try and investigate some other scenarious (like using a different external display) and see what happens.
Thanks -

This is usually a kernel panic issue*:

I suggest first off telling us the state of your backup, and if there is none, look into data recovery options*:

Once your data is safe, we can discuss further options.

The Macbook Pro 13, late 2009 will not start past the grey Apple Logo screen? Any help will be most welcome? Thanks
Have you tried booting with the install disc that came with your computer?
Find it and then run Disk Utility to verify your hard drive. If errors are found, try to repair the disk.
It sounds as if the hard drive might be failing.

I recently bought a new macbook pro to replace my 2007 macbook. I transferred my music from the old macbook to the new macbook pro. Today i updated my iphone4 to ios5 (on the new macbook pro), and in doing so, deleted my library off of my phone. The problem is, when I try to put the music i previously transferred onto the new computer, to my iphone, it wont let me transfer anything. Any ideas why this might be happening?
The standard policy is 14 days return no questions asked.
The Original Poster got someone on the phone who knew how to "play" the system to get around that and squirt out a gift card "for customer satisfaction". The person you talked to was less familiar with how to play the system, so simply restated the standard company policy.
If you really did buy it 14 days ago today, take it all back to the store and politely insist that you get the gift card you feel are entitled to. Exactly how they process that transaction, and whether you leave with the same computer you brought in, is their problem. -
When I turn on my MacBook Pro (2006, 15"), the background image shows up, but the finder does not launch. After about 10 minutes, my task bar will appear on the bottom of the screen, but the finder bar does not appear. The spinning wheel appears and will not go away. I have attempted rebooting a few times, and each time the result is the same.
Suggestions? The folder with a question marks is usually an idication that the Mac can't find the system file to boot from.
Since you never told us which system your Mac was running there is nothing more to say.

Macbook Pro 17" Wont start up/ Install OS X
When I got the Mac it had the problem When I tried to boot it up it would show the apple logo, a loading bar and then it would just power off .... (Not boot up).
And when I tried to boot into recovery mode using the OS X disc and a Bootable USB I made. It would get stuck on a screen with the prohibitory symbol and would just stay like that. (http://cnet4.cbsistatic.com/hub/i/2010/01/29/e8ec4a91-fdba-11e2-8c7c-d4ae52e62bc c/96a6baa6398cfcfbbf90ea5d99e3ccf3/ProhibitorySign.png)
Took it to a local PC repair shop, but they couldn't fix it but told me the HDD was faulty/corrupt. So I bought a new HDD and installed it and when I boot it up I get the flashing folder symbol, as it is a new or blank HDD. But again when I try to install OS X using the disc i still get the prohibitory symbol
Help!!!!!
Going to college in a few weeks and really need this to be fixed A.S.A.PIt is helpful if you would indicate the exact model MBP you have.
Install the HDD in an enclosure and attach it to the MBP.
Take the original installation disk (Leopard?) and start up the MBP and install the OSX on the external HDD. Boot the MBP from the external HDD. If that is successful, it indicates the internal SATA cable is faulty and needs to be replaced.

While i was using my Macbook all of a sudden it shutdown when i connected a usb to it. It was/is charged to 98/100%. The charger is shockproof and after the shutdown the light at the end of the charger is very faint. Any advice? I wanna avoid opening it but apple is not an option in my country.

Macbook Pro just wont start?
Ive had my MBP for little over a week and everything was working fine. A few days ago I tried turning it on and the LED light on the button that flips the screen up came on, I could hear everything inside spinning around and whatever so that all seemed fine but I couldnt hear any sounds that you normally hear when you turn it on (Like that big DUMMM when the apple logo appears) and the screen just stays black. So its as though ti starts, but just before the screens about to turn on, everything stops. The usual reaction kicked in, i s* myself! Considering this MBP was bought for me for my course and it needs to be handed in at the end so it is not technically mine. I held the power button and turned it off, pressed the power button and turned it on again and it worked. So i didnt think much of it. Then it became more frequent and last night I was on safari and safari just crashed, i tried force quit and then my MBP just switched off. I tried to turn it on and the same thing happened, only it hasnt switched back on no matter how hard I try. Its been broke since last night and I need it preferably for tommorow morning.
Ive looked and there seems to be similar problems, but they all get solutions like Hold the power button, hold cntl, cmd, p and r and whatever but that doesnt help me. Nothing happens!
Also I placed a DVD in my MBP to check if the optical drive was working fne and it succesfully swalloed it without giving it back and now I dont know how to get that out. Ive tried turning it on and holding the mouse button (even though its a trackpad) and nothing works.
HELPPPP?!
Would anybody reccomend the genius bar? Plus does it cost? Do I need proof the MBP is mine because all the documents are at the place where I take my course.I dont have the installer disk, its all at where I do my course... The only thing I have is my laptop and power lead. I was hoping I could et it fixed myself so its like it never happened and it can be forgotton about. Sounds a bit wierd but you know... Saves the ear ache.
And i meant does the genius bar cost? Sorry for the inconvenience. (Spelling :S)
EDIT: The cmd, option o and f keys dont work.

My mac keeps freezing upon startup. It will get to the blue screen and promptly freeze. If I manage to get past the blue screen, and open up youtube on google chrome, it will freeze before it loads youtube. I've tried safeboot and disk repair, nothing seems to work. I even tried to factory reset it but it wont connect to my internet when I reboot with power + option.. any ideas?
This can be used to boot the machine and delelte enough files to get it to boot normally.
.Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
Read about storage drive so you can store your extra stuff.
Most commonly used backup methods
Also here to see how a full boot drive slows the machine down
Why is my computer slow?
