Mulit task selection and drag drop

Hi Gurus,
SAP cProjects UI does not have capability of Drag Drop and multi task selections in the project strucuture tree.
I have narrowed down two options which include customisations.
If any one knows simpler options it would be a great help.

Selecting and Dragging multiple clips - CS6 Sniper mode

With the introduction of ability to select Edit Points, now it's inconvenient to drag multiple selected clips or add clips to selection because in some cases - depending on timeline zoom state and/or clip duration. The edit points are altered instead of the clips, that behaviour drives me nuts. It leads to a necessity to do one of the following actions before selecting and/or dragging multiple clips with comfort:
sniper mode - put the cursor over a place in the selection where the cursor will not indicate Edit Point trimming mode.
to avoid loosing selection when using sniper mode - Group the clips after adding every clip to selection and/or after a dragging operation
dynamically change zoom state so that you will not have to use sniper mode
use copy/cut/paste - may involve a necessity to do additional pre-pasting steps
IMHO, this behaviour should be rethinked.
How fast it was in CS5.5 and older versions:
Please, Premiere Pro Programming Team, especially Tim Gogolin, Steve Hoeg, Peter Lee, Gerry Miller, James Mork, Vivek Neelamegam, Axel Schildan, Jerry Scoggins, Sven Skwirblies, Tod Snook, Jesse Zibble, rethink the behaviour of selecting and dragging clips. Start giving links to beta-versions to other editors too, not only to editors like Philip Bloom.
Selecting edit points is sometimes helpful and sometimes distracting.
To get the best of two worlds (CS6 edit points vs. CS5.5 and older) - a switch could be added to Keyboard Shortcuts list, like the "hidden" Add Clip Marker shortcut.
Let's name it "Application > Sequence > Select Edit Points".
When Shift- or Shift+Alt- key is pressed and some Clip is selected, clicking on an edit point of another clip should add a clip to selection in the same way as previous versions of Premiere Pro did:
To drag clips in legacy sniper-free mode only a switch can help. Let's name it "Application > Sequence > Select Edit Points when Multiple Clips are Selected".
To add comfort to the editing process - selecting/dragging multiple clips - additional switches cannot be avoided. Additionally you may add an option to the Preferences > Trim:
Allow Selection tool to choose Roll and Ripple trims without modifier key
Allow Selection tool to select Edit Points while multiple Clips are selected

With all due respect Kevin, nobody at Adobe has the right to change a program SO drastically. I am also a mouse person, and am MUCH faster using the mouse, vs the keyboard.
When people have invested YEARS into a program like Adobe, they get used to things, how things work, the feel of a program. I really don't see how you all can just change it on a whim. IF you are going to do this, BOTH methods should still work. You cannot just stop the way people are used to editing. You can't just decide to change a program so drastically, that it doesn't feel like a program we have grown to love over many long years. If Adobe on a whole is changing things, just because a few people in your company voice opinions like I've quoted below, it's not the way to go. Adobe should be really putting feelers out there, and seeing how people are really using the program. Things should be getting easier, more powerful, sure that's natural, but you can't just decide to remove things that mouse users do every day. :-(
Upgrading a program, and changing it to this degree, are two different things in my book. I have not yet upgraded, but it is very scary - the things I'm seeing. For one, way way too many bugs. The amount of bugs on so many boards being reported are just beyond comprehension.
And a final note, I for one, am very glad Steven is posting these videos ( I'd like to hear him go through steps though - just watching the video with no audio of what he is doing is not so great, however after watching some of his posts, he's knows what he's doing, and has a good head to think with )
I mostly read posts, but I thought I would voice my opinion, if none of us speak up, nothing will get changed. I'm really hoping that Adobe implements some change in the next revision .5 or whatever it will be called. Reading posts like this one are really depressing. Did you watch Steven's video on a simple task as moving multiple clips around on a timeline ? Doing this with a mouse just isn't going to work for many, removing simple tasks by way of using a mouse would stop me from upgrading.
Please address this in upcoming updates.

Try this general troubleshooting procedure:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents the following folder: User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: For Mavericks and Yosemite, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

Select and Drag More Than One Photo

I can no longer select and drag more than one photo at a time. With one photo it works fine. If I select more than one, I can't move them, so I have to add pictures to albums one at a time, which is rather tedious.
This has only started happening recently. Possibly after updating to 10.6.8????

Then I would try a reinstall:
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

Trackpad - select and drag of email address in Mail

Looks like the normal select and drag behaves differently in mac mail when you are using the email addresses on the CC and To lines ...
In Mac Mail, When I did a reply-all to an email, it placed the person the email was sent to originally in the CC area - I wanted to drag their email address up to the To: line but couldn't figure out how to do this with the trackpad. When hovering over the email address (which was recognized and shown with their name in an oval shape) I then did a single-touch on the trackpad and held it would bring up a secondary menu rather than letting me then drag it. A single click of the trackpad didn't seem to help either
Any ideas on how to drag a "recognized" email address from the CC to the To line in mac mail using the trackpad ?

Well, here's a work around ... just as a reminder, when using the mouse, you click and hold and drag to the other line you want the address
With the trackpad, if I double tap, it converts the oval with their name to their full address. Then if you again double click and hold to (had to do this a couple times to get the whole thing selected) then you can drag with another finger the address between To: and CC: or vice versa
Several extra clicks needed to do what the mouse did - this should be fun explaining this to the wife

Drill Down Reports and Drag & Drop capability Tool for Developer2000

I am currently doing my development in Developer2000 rel. 2.0.
I have seen many tools for VB which provide the facility for Drill Down reporting and drag & drop option in reporting, but unable to find any tool for developer2000. I wonder if anyone can guide me about any tool for developer2000 which can provide these facilities in reporting and forms.......

you have mouse-move and mouse-enter etc...
what do you mean by drill down?
you can do drill down reporting in reports by using srw.run_report built in and you can also use oracle discoverer.

How do you add music to your device with the new iTunes. Before you could just select and drag and drop?

I can't figure ou thow to add music from Itunes to my iPhone. I don't want to sync them, I prefer to select the files/music etc I want on my phone?

In Windows 7, iTunes 11, When you connect your device, and drag a file or multiple files to the right part of iTunes and a screen will appear with the playlist and the devices connected. Hope this will help you!

Reinstalling CS2, and dragging/dropping files does not work

I have Photoshop CS2. Or at least I
had it. I had updated my operating system to Tiger, and it just caused a bunch of files to change, nothing really bad. It gave me an error message upon opening photoshop that "files necessary for running Photoshop were missing from the Application Support folder"
So I read the advice on this FAQ:

The problem you got into is a known problem after updating to Tiger. It is a small 4K file that gets trashed with the update. It is called the Adobe Unit Types. Both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements need this file to function.
One way to get it back is to reinstall Photoshop, the other is to add this file again.

As you trashed Photoshop, you need to completely deinstall it to be able to reinstall it.

Reader X and Drag & Drop

Hi guys,
you may have noticed, Drag & Drop is not longer available since Reader X with enabled Protected Mode. This has become painful news for our accounting personnel. They used Drag and Drop to put billing information into our DMS. Is there a way to enable this feature for a specific website with some kind of whitelist or REG key or do we have to disable Protected Mode in general ?

Okay, I backed up a user's folder full of emails onto disc, so I could delete it (As it's taking up heaps on the server... they're using imap)
anyway...is there any way to drag/drop the .emlx files back into say a folder "on the mac" so that it can be visible on the hard disk in Mail?

First of all, you should realize that you’ve been making backups of data stored locally on disk, not of the messages stored on the server. Hence, in general, those backups may or may not allow you to restore your mail depending on a number of things, such as the account settings and the format used by the mail client to cache messages locally (if any).
If Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Keep copies of messages for offline viewing is set to All messages and their attachments (the default setting), then Mail 2.x maintains a local copy of server-stored mailboxes using the exact same format it uses for locally stored mailboxes, except the suffix of the mailbox folder in the filesystem is .imapmbox instead of .mbox.
You cannot import *.imapmbox mailboxes directly into Mail because when you do File > Import Mailboxes and choose Mail for Mac OS X as the data format, Mail looks for *.mbox folders only, but if Keep copies of messages for offline viewing was indeed set to All messages and their attachments when the backup of those mailboxes was made, you can easily overcome that limitation by just changing the suffix to .mbox:
1. Copy the entire ~/Library/Mail/IMAP-username@mailserver account folder from the backup to the Desktop.
2. Change the .imapmbox suffix of the folders within the account folder on the Desktop to .mbox.
3. In Mail, do File > Import Mailboxes, choose Mail for Mac OS X as the data format, and follow the instructions to import the copy of the account folder that’s on the Desktop.
