Mulitple version of adobe in Internet Explorer

I have this unique problem. I need to have 2 version of adobe(version 8 reader and version 5 full) on the same computer. I have forms that we send through email that needs the full version. I change the forms extension on my INTRANET to "PDFF" and create a file associate to open those form.
The file association work as long as the form is stored on my computer. It appears that IE opens both extension "pdf and the new pdff" using the reader. Do you know how I can get IE to open the create version of ADOBE?

De-install Adobe Reader 8 and re-install Adobe Acrobat 5.

  • Firefox says I have v11 of Adobe Flash Player but Adobe (and Internet Explorer) say I have v16. How to fix this?

According to the the Firefox Add-ons Manager and the plug-in check page, I am running version 11.6.602.180 of Shockwave Flash, so I went to the Adobe website to download the current version (16.0.0.296). Adobe says I am already running the latest version; so does the Add-ons manager in Internet Explorer. What should I do?

Internet Explorer uses a different version of Flash that Firefox does. You need to install and update them both separately.
In your control panel, uninstall Flash 11. Then, install https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/download/?installer=FP_16_for_Firefox_-_NPAPI&standalone=1

    Hi Michaeld71937612,
Try terminating the 'process Tree' using Task Manager then restart Adobe Reader, and check the CPU Usage again.
Please make sure that there are no other instances of Acrobat running on your system once you end Task.
I would also recommend you to check for malicious activity on your system using a reputed Antivirus/Security software.

  • Version Naming Convention for Internet Explorer

Notice on the far right side there is a
Emoticon smiley face on the far right side.  This comes directly out of something I read and also did almost twenty years ago.  Did this cause the version update to 11?  I am not familiar with the metrics to call for a higher
version.  It also appears to be deactivated.  I believe the w3c html is readily available as well as the specific compliers to develop a browser.

Hi, the emoticon is actually a feedback tool for Internet Explorer incorporated into the 9879 build. It's supposed to work by clicking on the icon when you come across a problem for whatever web page your on and reporting the problem on the spot instead
of using the windows feedback app.

  • Right versions of Java for Internet Explorer 8,8,19 versions for BO 4.1

    Hi,
Can any body guide me on the right version of Java(Internet Explorer version 8,9,10) for BI Launch Pad 4.1 SP6?

    Hi,
If there is enough time to validate SP06 against MS Windows 10, and if the enterprise market demands it (i.e. our maintained customer-base) then it would certainly be considered.
However, Win 10 isn't out yet, and if SP06 comes out in only few months.. then the timelines aren't favourable.
Realistically, we don't anticipate enterprise organisations to be adopting Win 10 as soon as it comes out.. It's a fringe requirement. But that said, our SPs are designed to offer additional PAM support, so let's see.

  • How did i know the version of Jiniator with Internet Explorer

    Hello,
I want to know if a version of Jinitiator is installed with a dynamic page executed with Internet Explorer.
I want a page to help users for install a new version of Jinitiator
    Regards

No you're question wasn't to vague, I was able to get the basic idea of what you were asking.
As for an automatic way to convert bat scripts to shell scripts, I won;t say there isn't something out there, out there is a big place, but I doubt it. As I wrote the differences between the systems make a direct conversion difficult.
On OS X you have two choices for scripting, shell scripts and Applescripts. Shell scripts are your basic Unix command files, are created in a text editor and run from the Terminal command line.
Applescripts are created with the Applescript editor, have a tighter link with OS X, and are run from the GUI.
(all of that is very basic and there are exceptions to what I wrote but that is the intro version)
If you have a script from Windows that did something that you would like to have done on OS X you can transfer the what but not the how. That is you can do the same thing (automate backups in this case) but how you go about that will be different.
If you;re intereested in learning scripting on OS X (either shell or Applescript) this could be a good project to start with. You know what you want you just have to figure out how to do it in OS X now. If this is the case I'd suggest you start a new thread in the Mac OS X Technologies group. That is where scripting is usually discussed.
    good luck

  • Adobe Reader internet explorer

what software do i need to buy in order to use comment features in the adobe add on for internet explorer?

I'm sorry. Yes, I have similar results in both circumstances. When I am experiencing the error, both of these are true:
Clicking on a PDF link that would ordinarily open the PDF within the browser (PDF file served directly from webserver with mime-type application/pdf and no content-disposition header) will instead launch an external instance of Acrobat XI or Adobe Reader XI depending on which is installed or set as the default.
Creating an instance of the AcroPDF.PDF object from a custom javascript application or using <object> tags to embed the PDF viewer within a webpage does not work.
I have been working on this all day, and I have discovered that using Internet Explorer's reset settings (Internet Options -> Advanced -> Reset...) feature causes the view-in-browser  feature and the ActiveX object to begin working again. However I cannot discover any difference in configuration between a machine that has been reset and a machine that is experiencing the problem.
The above screenshot is from the IE11 javascript console on a machine experiencing the problem. The expected console output would be 'undefined' if successful and could be verified by executing typeof(ax); which should return 'object.' .. If the AcroPDF.PDF ActiveX is not installed or otherwise unavailable, the javascript error would be "Automation server can't create object" instead of "Error"
I would like to get to the bottom of this error and find the actual source of the trouble. Performing the IE settings reset is sort of a last ditch effort and is not an optimal workaround for me to give to customers.

  • Trying to install Adobe Flash: Internet Explorer 9; Windows Vista 32 bit

During installation process and when prompted, I close IE. However, adobe executable prompts, again, to close IE.  Repeated attempts to "continue" installation result in same message to close IE.
I have no Flash versions on my computer.
    Help!

Probably you still have IE process running even you close IE and disappeared from your desktop. You should check IE process in taskmanager and kill it for Flash Player installation. Or you can restart your computer and run downloaded/saved 'install_flashplayer11x32ax_***_aih.exe' file.

I have tried using both Firefox and Internet Explorer when I revise the website, but that does not appear to make any difference. • Cannot open, save, or print ship label on USPS website using Acrobat 11; Win 7; Internet Explorer 9.

USPS tech and supervisor spent 1 hour walking me through fixes of uninstalling, installing and changing options to no avail. The provider software (USPS, Adobe & Microsoft) works using other browsers (Google Chrome and Firefox) but not with Internet Explorer (any version as I've tried it with 8 and 9). No virus, malware or defects in any of the software. This problem seems to reoccur every time there is a new release from Adobe, Windows Explorer or the USPS. Has anyone found a solution?
Specifically, either of the "print or save label" prompts in the online postage software opens a dialogue bar that give 2 choices: save or cancel.  The cancel option doesn't work at all; the bar stays open. The save option opens the operating system software to "desktop" but when the "save" option is selected there is no response.  No way to get out of the dialogue bar without closing the usps web site. Each time I've had to go into the account history file and claim a refund for the unprintable label. Options I've tried to solve issue:
    >added usps.com to trusted sites in IE under tools
    >enabled manage add-on for Acrobat Reader
    >disabled protected mode in IE options
    >unchecked "require server verification"
    >uninstalled and reinstalled latest versions of Acrobat 11; tried Acrobat 9 and 10 installs
    >did "repair" of Acrobat 11
    >reduced security levels for IE and USPS web site
    >uninstalled/reinstalled IE 9 and IE 8.
Each software provider claims the other's products are at fault, not theirs.

Thank you for your interest in my problem. USPS is the US Post Office.  Mailing labels can be created, paid for and printed on their website, usps.com. The labels are in pdf format and their application uses Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the file where the label resides and then print it.  Normally, you can  select either "print" or "save" to open the file where the label resides and then you again have the option to immediately print the label or save it to your "desktop."  I have printed or succcessfully saved  hundreds of these labels, despite changes in the various versions of Acrobat Reader, Internet Explorer (IE) and the USPS software. After returning from a 2 week vacation on Oct 1, I rebooted my PC to create and print some labels and the fun began.
The USPS software works perfectly until the print or save stage.  Using either prompt opens a bar in the lower part of the screen which then only offers the options of "save" or "cancel." ( So no way to print directly.)  If you attempt to "cancel" it does not respond - just starts the bar blinking a golden color.  If you attempt to "save," it opens to a screen to save to your desktop. When attempting to save at that point, the file will not save, there is no response.  The bar can not be closed, the save to desktop doesn't work, and there is no way out of the loop.  Even when closing or signing out of the website, the bar remains on the screen.  Only by closing and reopening Internet Explorer will the bar disappear.
USPS supervisor and tech persons claim the problem is with IE since their software works with other browsers, e.g. Google Chrome and Foxfire - which I have confirmed. It's just annoying and time consuming to have to exit IE everytime I want to create and print a label.  All other pdf files (whether downloaded from IE or created by myself) will print from IE using Adobe Acrobat Reader, just not the one associated with the USPS. What's astonishing is that the US Post Office doesn't mind that their program doesn't work with the world's most used web browser and they haven't been able to figure out why.  You would think either Microsoft (IE's publisher) and the USPS would want to do a fix.
I have scoured and tested all setup and setting options in the Adobe, IE, USPS software, including roll back to earlier versions and haven't been able to solve it on my own.

  • Why does opening some links in Firefox causes a "Server Error in '/' Application Runtime Error" but not in "Internet Explorer"?

When I click on some links in an email (and Firefox is the default browser) I get the following error:
    Server Error in '/' Application.
    Runtime Error
Description: An exception occurred while processing your request. Additionally, another exception occurred while executing the custom error page for the first exception. The request has been terminated.
If, however, I click the same links (and Internet Explorer is the default browser) I do not get any error and the proper content of the link is displayed.
What is causing this error? As I prefer Firefox, how can this problem be fixed?
OS Windows 7, Service Pack 1
    Firefox Version 32.0.1
    Internet Explorer Version 11.0.9600.17280

When you look at the address in the address bar, does it seem to match up with the email?
Sounds like Firefox sent the server something it wasn't expecting. Sometimes this can be caused by obsolete or corrupted cookies -- assuming you have visited the site before. It also might be caused by modifications to standard information sent to servers such as the "user agent" string that specifies your browser version and OS.
To clear a site's cookies, while viewing a page on the site, either:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

  • Message d'erreur :  "L'installation de Photoshop elements nécessite Internet explore 4.0" !!!

Bonjour.

    Solution:
"Ordinateur\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths".

He evryone i´m wondering how do you offer internet support. because at the time its the same as design two sites . 1 for everyone and another for i.e. and peopple is alwasy asking for ie, but in practice is a lot more of work .

This should not be the case if you're designing standards compliant sites with clean, valid code.
IE8 and IE9 should be OK.
It's a matter of deciding at which version you stop supporting Internet Explorer.
Most designers (inc me) have stopped supporting IE6 and earlier.
IE7 support varies by designer and target audience.
