Multi-account twitter app on OS X?

Now that Tweetdeck has been killed off by Twitter, I have been looking at alternatives. I saw a few alternatives that are available on both OSX and iOS:
Echofon which even promises to sync between the two. But Echofon doesn't have the possibility to see multiple acocunts at once, so you need to switch yourself all the time to see incoming tweets. I don't see scheduled tweets (but maybe that is the paid version only?). No documentation unless you create an Echofon account first, it seems
Tweetbot: no way to try out before buying
Twitterific: no way to try out before buying, seems to lack live updating according to reviews.
Anything I missed. Should I give up on having the same ap on iOS and OSX?

Open up System Preferences, then click Mail, Contacts & Calendars, Then on the list on the left, select the twitter account then click the minus sign at the bottom of the list. Click Okay to confirm that you want to delete this Twitter account from your Mac.

Downloaded twitter app, has account already on it

Okay, can someone help? I downloaded the twitter app, but there is an account already on it. An account that has ****. I can't get rid of it, it appears to be locked. Every time I try to delete it, I get a message that tells me it cannot be deleted. I can't even add an account. Why would there already be an account on there? Why isn't there any way to delete it? Worst yet, twitter doesn't even have live help and keeps referring me to stupid answers that have nothing to do with this. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, that's why it's so weird. It loaded with someone's account already one it, and the person had 100+ followers, and was following over 500 people. I can't get rid of the account, it has padlock symbol next to it (I've tried everything). First, I don't understand why it would download with an account on it ( yet not allow me to delete and add a new one), nor the fact twitter just refers me to their q&a, which doesn't have this problem listed. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if they knew how to fix it.
I can't change the settings at all. It just shows this unknown person - no picture, no bio - and they have all this activity (most of it ****) going on and I can't do anything except delete the app. Which means I can't download the twitter app. Even tried deleting and reloading, same problem.

Your friend can get a new Apple Id for themselves, and create a different account on one of the laptops. Then put all their music in a separate iTunes library, and sync the phone to that particular library.
This will keep there music separate from your library and their brother's library.
Just make another User on your computer for your friend to store their music in.

Computer Twitter account vs. Twitter App problems

I recently changed my username for twitter using my computer. When i tried to go onto my twitter app on my iphone I kept getting a message saying "password required for _________", which was my old username not the current one I changed it to. I thought though if I entered the password for what is was asking it would log in and realize I had changed my username and just update it on my phone. But when I entered the password (which should be the same because I only changed my username) it said that the password was incorrect. I also tried to change the twitter account settings through the settings on my iphone but the username and password area are greyed out so I am unable to type in the new username. I cant use the twitter app on my iphone because I keep getting the prompt, any ideas how to fix this?

My last suggestion would be for you to go to the App World and download the Latest Version Of Twitter App and Login Through it.

I Can't Update Twitter App Because it's linked to someone I have never met

I can't update the official Twitter account. For some reason the Twitter app is connected to someone else's Apple ID – someone I have never met nor do I have any mutual friends with (according to fb). Whenever I try and update Twitter it asks me to sign into his account and I can't update it with my account. I haveeven deleted Twitter and tried to reinstall it using my Apple ID. When I do so his email address is automatically filled in (with every other app mine is automatically filled in) – so I filled in my Apple ID info but I get an "Unknown Error" and then "We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (4)"

But from what I've seen the only solution is to re-index my computer with spotlight. I have done so but that doesn't work.

Hi Brian...
No guarantees, but try deleting the cache and cookies associated with the App Store.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Restart your Mac.
Deleting cookies may also help.
Go to ~/Library/Cookies. Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
See if you can update Twitter.
You can report this incident to Apple > Apple - Support - Mac App Store - Contact Support

thx for your reply - apparently when I went to the Apple store a long time ago, they restore maybe photos and itunes etc from my external hard drive (passport). I guess at that time they reinstalled an earlier operating system than my macbook came with and that somehow corrupted FileVault. apparently there was no sparse bundle (whatever that is) for my old admin account and they said that ever since the install of the older OS that it was actually NEVER backing up anything in my admin account.
Then, I bought Time Capsule and starting backing up to that instead. I started having problems with it being slow etc and then StartUp Disk full errors and didn't know what to do, so I "Restored" from Time Capsule and that's when I lost everything in my Admin account and was locked out when I tried to log in - it said File Vault error ..."
anyway - that's THAT sad story. I was told to create a new admin account and I've basically been trying to start over - even though I have a partial save of my computer in Crash Plan and I DO see a sparse bundle listed in there, but I just don't know enough about computers to know if it's something I can get back or if I am just totally doomed.
I'm afraid to reinstall anything because if there is even a remote shot that the other files are still floating around in my computer, I feel like that chance will be shot forever. I need to hire McGee from NCIS, I just KNOW he could get those files back for me!!!

You have done the worst thing you can do when you have problems: upgrade the operating system. This will only increase problems. Because of this, I recommend you to format everything and start over again.
First of all, get an external drive (if you have not got one) and put your most important data there. Another thing you can do, in case you want to do everything automatically, is to use the Disk Utility's Restore feature to copy everything to the external drive.
Then, hold Command and R keys while your Mac is starting to start up into OS X Recovery, and open Disk Utility. Use it to erase the OS X partition > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU2.html
Finally, reinstall OS X. I do not recommend you to restore your files while you are setting up OS X or these problems will appear again. Instead, I recommend you to restore your files manually and, if you can, reinstall your apps manually

Twitter app signing in error

In my Nokia 206 dual sim i downloaded a twitter app. It opens normally but when i enter my username password and try to sign in, it says 'Error occured while signing in please try again'. And after this new file is seen on the Folder of a phone memory named as clientlog.txt something like that ,which can be opened there i can see some text related with twitter, i don't understand. somebody help me plz!

Hello, _m3gz4_. Were you able to sign in your Twitter account when using the phone's browser? BTW, make sure that the connection is stable. Try accessing any website using the phone's browser to verify this. You may also try uninstalling and reinstalling the Twitter app if it makes any difference. The clientlog.txt could be a cache or a temporary file of the said app. So, do not delete it. It may affect the operation of the app or the phone's system.

Add one more disgruntled user to the list. First noticed that I couldn't download upgrades on my iPhone. It would prompt for password as normal, would briefly show "waiting" on the app icon and then just stops with app store still showing update. True deleting the app and installing from iTunes. This worked, but iTunes library had old version of app so it still showed an upgrade. I then deleted the app from the phone and iTunes and that is when I started getting the 11111 error. I've since discovered that I can download any new content to any of my linked iDevices, but cannot download any type of previously purchased content. No previously purchased music not on device, no previously purchased uninstalled apps, no installed app upgrades, etc. ALL show up in purchased content lists, but when you attemp to download it appears to be starting and then simply fails with no errors on the iDevice(s). I've also tried signing out of my account in settings - store, performing a hard reset and then signing back in, but alas, no success.
C'mon Apple, obviously a problem that is happening to numerous users and it started happening to us all at the exact same time. You got us iAddicted, now give us our iFix.

How to install Twitter app without setting security questions?

Hello! I recently registered a Twitter account. iOS 6 includes Twitter integration - great. When I navigate to Settings - Twitter and tap the Install button, a dialog shows up: "Improve your Apple ID security" and "Set security questions" blah blah. There are two buttons in the dialog, "Set questions" and "Cancel". If I tap Cancel, Twitter app download doesn't begin and Twitter icon disappears from my SpringBoard. If I tap "Set questions", I need to answer some stupid questions. If I leave answer boxes empty, I can't continue. I will not set any security questions for my Apple ID, that's for sure.

I just encountered the same problem when I tried to download Twitter on my husband's new iPhone 5. There was no problem when I installed Twitter on my iPhone 3GS yesterday :-(
You've probably seen by now that there are many, many people who are having problems with the 'Help improve Apple ID security' message - not confined to iPhone but also on iTunes, iPod Touch, iPad etc.
I chose the 'Not Now' button on his iPhone 5 and the Twitter app wouldn't allow me to proceed ....
Looks like Apple aren't in any hurry to fix this because people have been complaining about it for months (after all, your post is more than 3 months old and the problem is still occurring).

I'm having the same issue. It's defnitely not the phone. I used another account to log in and it worked perfectly fine. I think it is facebook trying to change something or maybe something is wrong with one of our settings? I dislike the facebook application.

I added a Twitter account through the Accounts page in the Settings. That way, Im shown only the Direct Messages. Unable to find my twitter timeline.
Is there an official Twitter app from BlackBerry for the PlayBooks on the AppWorld. I find that coming preloaded on Z10 smartphones but not on PlayBooks. I am not preferring to download other 3rd party apps. What are the possible risks of sideloading an app? I prefer to download the official app for Playbook from the online store.

There is (on mine) a Twitter Short Cut pre installed on the home screen of the PlayBook. This however will only allow you to view mobile Twitter. There was a url trick that could change this to full Twitter but Twitter put a stop to this across several platforms apparently for security reasons. I recommend you download the Origami Browser from BlackBerry World. This will allow you to view the full version of Twitter as though on a pc. Works well for me.

All Google and Twitter apps have stopped working on iPhone 6

I've had a new iPhone 6 for about a month now and suddenly on the same day last week, all google/twitter related apps have completely stopped working, like they can't access my network connection.
Google Maps, Hangouts, and Gmail are all showing the same issue, they say there is no network connection even though there is.
Twitter won't even let me sign in because it says it can't locate the server when I enter my login credentials (and I've tried multiple accounts, all with correct information). Most odd is that even 3rd party twitter apps like Tweetbot don't seem to work either, as they won't let me login. When I try to login using the Twitter section of iPhone settings, it tells me my login info is incorrect even though I have checked multiple times and it is.
I've tried deleting all of these apps and re installing, to no avail.
Anyone?
