Multi-Browser Support

We have a mixed environment of IE and netscape users. We rely on NT Domain authentication which causes our Netscape users to fail to log-in and authenticate to the portal.
Currently all users log-in to the domain and if in IE get to the portal No problem, as stated Netscape users fail. What other solution can you suggest. We are moving to an LDAP iPlant single store, can we use SSO to allow Netscape + IE users to not to have to be prompted to log-in (except at the domain level in the morning) and then access the portal, while still preserving their personalization settings?
Does Plumtree provide any suggestions on how to deal with this issus?

There is no way to have Netscape automatically log in. The browser simply doesn't support it. IE is able to do this only because of its integration into the Windows OS, which allows it to access the user's workstation credentials.
If you are using a newer Netscape (7.1, or Mozilla 1.4 and up, or Firebird/fox 0.7 and up), then the Netscape users will still be prompted for their login credentials, but at least they will be able to sign in, as those browsers do support NTLM (aka WIA). Note that supporting NTLM is different from supporting automatic login via NTLM using your workstation credentials.
If you are using older Netscape, then you will simply be unable to access sites protected by NTLM. However, even in this situation, you can configure your IIS protected directory (that is, the "/portal/sso" directory) to accept both Basic and Windows Integrated Auth. No changes to portal configuration are required. In that case, IE clients will be auto-logged in via WIA, newer Netscapes will prompt for login info and log in via WIA, and older Netscapes will prompt and log in via Basic auth.
I do not know for certain of any SSO product that captures your workstation login credentials and then allows you to just open a browser and log in. The "single" in "single sign-on" usually does not include to the login to the workstation, only the first login to your browser. It is possible (I have no idea, I'm only speculating; I'm am definitely not endorsing) that Novell's SSO product can do this, if you happen to be using the Novell Windows Login client onto a Novell network, for much the same reason that IE can do automatic sign-on using Windows login credentials.
Other products I have worked with, including Oblix and Netegrity, require the user to provide credentials to the browser once in addition to the Windows login.

I believe that Sony should know about the camera problems. That is why the rolling process is only for India and Taiwan until now. I also want to have multi user support. However, I don't think it can be achieved due to the 1G ram limitation! Xperifirm and flashtool are good for the user becuase I can roll back to kitkat anytime when I get problem. However, someone may not know how to use it. It makes them feel frustrated! I just hope Sony can fix the camera bugs ASAP. For me, the main function of a smart phone is to take photo, phone call, whatsapp and browse the webpage. Please make sure user can be happy with this BASIC function! Lollipop or Kitkat?? Instead of creating multiple forms, 1 in each different language, for the same service, is there any workaround?

Hoan - is your question what are the considerations when creating multiligual catalogs? If so, I can tell you that at other clients I have seen them use a single catalog for one or two languages. For the two langugages, such as Spanish/English, you can create a single catalog with both of them. Once you get to more than two languages, the catalog would get unweildy and is therefore not suggested.

No Optimized web browser support on basic phones after 8/30/13?

Over the weekend I received a very disturbing message on my web browser. of my Samsung Gusto 2. It said that there would be no Optimized web browser support on basic phones after 8/30/13 and that if I wanted a good web browsing experience that I would have to upgrade to a smartphone. I am on the $50 unilmited talk,text,and web prepay plan but don'\t want to get stuck paying for a web browser I can't use after that date.A smartphone monthly plan would cost $10-20 more monthly,in addition to spending considerably more to buy a smartphone. I already have a tablet and was told a smartphone was unnecessary. Anybody else get this message?One person in customer service said that it was propaganda and not to believe it. Another person that I called later found the memo but had no further information on it at this time. Aparently Verizon likes to keep their customer service associates in the dark until last minute.No idea if they will alter their price plans in light of this development. I currently have AT&T U-Verse and will move my number to them and switch providers if forced to.They are willing to offer the same plan I currently have with Verizon but will have to buy a new AT&T GoPhone. Have had pretty good customer service with them up to now,but they are not open 24/7 for wireless customer service. Any comments?

Right now I am switching back and forth between the Samsung Gusto 2 and the original Gusto. The reason I am doing this is because the Gusto ,even though it is an older phone, is in much better condition than the newer Gusto2. I want to use the beat-up Gusto2 for work, and switch to the other phone when I need a more presentable phone.Also have a Verizon Wireless CDM 7076(somewhere).
Don't know why I am being forced to replace perfectly good phones. And yes,SydneyK, I could use my tablet for data,but it is a little cumbersome to take it out with me,but don't need it for my work . I just took it out for the first time recently to see how well it works on Wi-Fi hotspots(I don't have or want a data plan).Because I am a U-verse customer,I have access to 30,000 AT&T Wi-Fi hotspots AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. I don't want to pay for something (web access)that I can't use on this phone. If Verizon can't give me cost-effective solutions,then I will be forced to transfer my number to AT&T Wireless as of August 30 for a GoPhone. AT&T wants my business and are wiling to do anything to satisfy me. Haven't had any trouble with Verizon either. Yes, their customer service is still available 24/7 even thought you will have to wait a while sonetimes. I just hate the thought of having to go through the hassle of transferring my number to another carrier.

After trying Opera AND Firefox to post a reply to "Why isn't my browser supported?" I'm now using IE (7 not 8 - that's not working, too!). Maybe that's the first thing that should work in all browsers - the forum.
The second thing, and that's why I originally wanted to post something here, is that I had problems typing "&" and "/" in Opera. They don't seem to be at the same key as usual. (I have a german keyboard...):

Additionally everything seems a little bit slow...

Win 8.1. Core language and multi-language support.

HI,
I've used a US developed program with multi-language support for years in Win XT and Win 7. As the program now supports win 8.1. I've upgraded to 8.1. and the new release of the program. However it will not work properly and the reason given is
that my version of 8.1. has a different core language compared with what the program uses and this version is not multi-language supported. Now I wonder if there are various versions of the core language in 8.1. or is the core
language unique, supported by various language packets for menu's, guiding texts, etc. Why do I then need a multi-language supported program? Where can I put this question?

What are the code changes that are to be made to have Multiple browser support in Webcenter?

Hi, the current Meta-Directory product looks at just one changelog (the RetroChangeLog for Sun ONE Directory v5.x) and as such true and full Multi-Master support with Meta is not possible at this time. However, the engineering team are in the process of documenting what cohabitation is possible when Meta is used against just one of the two Directory masters. Multi-Lang support and slides issue

First, is anyone here using slides-based Flash documents at
all? Whenever I post my (IMHO well-researched) questions/reports,
like the one linked to below, I never get an answer. By now I'm
ready to give up completely on slide-based documents and ready to
convert it all to "flat" Flash docs, but I'm just curious why the
numerous horrible bugs in slides get no response, did everyone else
but me know not to use them???

Anyway, I found a new issue, which, like last time, I first
successfully and easily recreated using a fresh (slide-based)
document to make sure my AS code isn't interferring.
Doing the same experiment with bot a "normal" Flash document
and with a slide-based one, I created a dynamic text field and
followed (Macromedia/Adobe) instructions to setup multi-language
support (en,de) for the text field, using the Strings dialogue.
It all worked as it should in the regular Flash doc, but
nothing worked in the slide-based one. Right now I'm trying to see
if I can still get it to work using the Locale class and AS code,
but that doesn't seem to work either.
Again, by now I've pretty much decided to abandon slide-based
layout because of the bugs and the non-existing feedback, I'm only
curious if I was the only one who ever even tried slides...(?)

this should work. One thing to keep in mind is that Swing components have fonts set on them, so if the font you are using doesn't contain the characters, then you get garbage sometimes (I see this with japanese characters when they pump into an app I'm currently writing, even though I know I got the right character codes out of the email).
Try base64 encoding the content before it is sent and save it (the base64) to a text file (Don't send the base64 text, send the actual content). Then base64 encode the content when it is recieved and compare it to the stored file (without the whole displaying thing). If they match, your issue isn't javamail, it is probably swing, or you aren't setting the character encodings correctly. If they don't match, javamail.
Just taking bets I would say the two will match and your issue is simply the swing font thing.

Reader 64 bit browser support

We would like to enable PDF file scanning from our graphing tool, but need Adobe to provide a 64 bit version of nppdf32.dll for browser support. We provide this scanning functionality from the 32 bit versions of Ansys Simplorer and Ansys Maxwell, but eliminate the PDF option for our 64 bit versions, because the CHtmlView we use won't load PDF files. The technical world is moving rapidly to 64 bits. Where is Adobe?

There is currently no 64-bit plugin available, but I have a strong feeling that it will be there in Reader 12.

Multi Language Support Setup

We have currently upgraded from 11i to R12.1.2 and we have decided to USE MLS & NLS(Multi Language Support) for the very 1st time.We have 4 Languages (American,Spanish,French,Portuguese) so when we query for data in tl tables(apterms_tl,ra_terms_tl,fnd_responsibility_tl) we get four records for a single term_id because we are using 4 languages so we need to keep a language join. What I am doing is
Select * from ap_terms_tl where agent_id = 5 and language = USERENV('LANG'); which returns only one row with US as the language. Here is a sceneario where I am struck I want to see data in a different language like Spanish or french or Portuguese so how can i achieve that. what i am trying to do is
ALTER SESSION SET NLS_LANGUAGE = 'BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE'; and then querying for
Select * from ap_terms_tl where agent_id = 5 and language = USERENV('LANG'); i get data in Portuguese. How can we achieve this from user level perspective. like when we register a Canadian USER and he wants to see American and vice -verse.

Here is what we are trying to achieve When a user from Canada login into Oracle Applications and runs a request set or a concurrent Program he has to see the output in Canadian Language Responsibility this should be done dynamically(changing the Language). You have give me a scenario like changing the preferences and setting the session languages can we dot it dynamically like as soon as the user logs in from Canada his session Language should be set to Canada Language.
I am just waiting for some help from the gurus.
Help would be highly appreciated.

I able to see the languages in the tables and when i alter the session and I able to see the data in that particular Language.Even i log-in into oracle applications and click on Preferences and change the session Language Other than US i can see the screens in a different Language.Is there anything we can't do dynamically instead of user signing into Oracle Applications and change his session Language.
Like when the user logs-in from Canada then he can automatically see his country language.

We are using a static html page for "Custom Account Lockout Redirect URL". We have implemented multi-language support for lost password management except for the lockout page. What is the best way to provide multi-lang support for the lockout page?
