Multi cam Monitor in PPro 5.5 is blocky and low res

Is there some type of setting that will make my Multi-Camera monitor look like it did in Premiere Pro 5? right now is very pixelated and blocky. I haven't used Multicam Monitor before in PPro 5.5, but 5 it was ok (it didn't gang realtime with the program monitor but maybe someday).
Is there some setting or glitch I've missed?
I'm on Mac OS 10.6.8, Mac Pro 24GB with Quadro 4000 card.
Thanks much for any advice!

Have you updated your drivers for the Quadro 4000 and Mac OSX v10.6.8?

  • In my trial version of ppcs6 I can't find the multi-cam monitor

The particular ways I synced angles in cs5.5 have been removed but I still need the stand alone multi-cam monitor and I can't find it.

For CS6 it's under the Window menu.  For CC7 it's no longer a stand alone window.  You call up the mode with the wrench under the Program Monitor.

  • While multi-camera monitor is open video output looks strobed

While the multi-camera monitor is opne the video output to my DV deck looks strobed and soft.  Any ideas?  I have CS 6 with a Sony DV deck on a MacPro 5,1.  When I close the multicamera monitor the video on the output monitor becomes sharp again.  This is simply unnacceptable as I need to see the video in full rez while playing back.

The multicamera monitor has always had an "adaptive resolution" when it comes to playback, meaning the resolution would degrade if it needed to (based on your system's capabilities) in order to keep up real time playback, which is more critical for multicam editing than full res playback.

  • Viewing multi-cam monitor for multi-cam sequences not on track 1

    Hi,
I just found out that the multi-cam monitor in the Program Monitor goes blank if the multi-cam sequence is not on track 1. Is there a way to fix this? Thank you in advance.

How do you toggle the track targeting so that you can see the multi-cam preview for two stacked multi-cam sequences? I'd like to cut between different takes and it'd be a pain to toggle every time. Final Cut Pro has no problem of doing this but it seems that Premiere is a little picky about track targeting. I attached an example of how the project would look like going through two takes of multi-cam sequences.

  • Launch Multi-Camera Monitor - Sound goes away

    Hi,
I've been re-trying this for two days - and can not, for the live of me, figure out what is happening.  I have started from clips in a new folder and re-building the project from scratch - no joy (old Navy term).  The thing that is frustrating to me - is I've done this before and everything worked fine.
I realize you-all are quite precise,  so here is my process:
I have a sequence where I have the clips from two cameras and they are syncronized (using Plural Eyes)
I have extracted .WAV files in Audo 1  and 2 (linked to video 1) and Audio 3 and 4 (linked to Video 2) -  (I did a render and replace)
    I create a new sequence
from the project window - I drag the synced sequence to this new sequence - it becomes nested - (I have sound - everything is great)
In the Nested sequence I select and rightclick the clip and select Mulit Camera >> Enabled and the title of the sequence gets a new prefix [MC1] -  (I have sound - everything is great on the entire sequence)
THEN - on the Menu Bar - I click Window>>Multi-Camera Monitor - the Sound disappears.
    Results:
This sound should be coming from Video 2  and it's link to Audio 3 and 4 - But no deal......  It is soundless when looking from both the Multi-Camera Monitor and the Program Monitor.  If I move further in the sequence where Video 1 happenes to be playing (Audio 1 and 2) - I have sound again.
As a note: If I go back to the original synced sequence - everything seems normal - I have sound through-out the sequence.
    Question:
What happended to the audio (3 and 4) in the nested sequence?
    Thanks,
    Chris

This morning - I took a new look at theMulit-camera Monitor - and found a new button hiding on the bottom of the screen - I needed to select the audio
    This fixes my problem
    Sorry for the Alert!
    Chris

  • Is Adobe going to bring back the old multi Camera monitor?

Why did Adobe take away the  Old Multi camera monitor away in the first place. I'm using Adobe because I  like Adobe not because I want Adobe to be like Final Cut. Are there other users out there who agree with me? The new multi camera monitor is very limiting and stupid in my opinion.

    Lighting is the key.
Your real background should be as flat in colour as you can manage.
Your chair for instance should not be the same colour as your clothes.
Overhead lighting that is fairly close can flare off your hair.

  • Multi-camera monitor all windows black...

I just installed the latest update of CC which appears to have fixed my instance of the bug that set all edit points on the multicam timeline point to the start of the Multicam file after restart. However now I have the problem that the multi-cam monitor has all windows black even though they show in the program monitor composite setting, and in the sequence that contains the source files for the multicam file.
I got it to work once and finished another 4 minute piece from my concert, but now I don't know what I did to get it to work, how to get it back again nor what caused it to go black in the first place although it appeared to happen right after I exported a segment of the sequence to a youtube movie.
I'm combining shots from files from 4 different cameras. One camera file is a single 8.76 GB mp4 file 1080, 29.97p. The other three cameras all produced segmented 2 GB mts files, each 1080, 29.97 p.

At the risk of stating the obvious, this is definitely not normal. Please submit a bug report: https://www.adobe.com/go/wish/
Also, it might help to post your system specs here, especially graphics card & driver version.

  • CS5.5 Multi-cam monitor

    Hey all,
I am editing a multi-camera piece in my sequence and using the multi-cam monitor to see the other angles. The only thing is that I can only get realtime playback on the preview window and not in the multi-cam window, it only updates in the multi-cam window once playback has stopped.
Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks in advance

Those aren't the right terms.  On the left you see the "angles".  On the right you see the "preview".  The Program Monitor is a separate thing and not part of the Multicam window.
With the Multicam window open, the Program Monitor will not update during recording or playback.  The angles and preview inside the multicam window should play fine.  Are you saying they don't?
Well I guess I'm what they call old school.   In my world as sports truck Director and Technical Diretor, anywhere you see your sources before putting them to air is "preview" and anywhere where you see the output is program.  I'm not sure, though, why the industry has to reinvent the wheel and change terminology from what it's been for years.  Guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
At any rate, to answer your second question... no they do not play fine in the multicam windows.  I do see all four sources in your "angles" pane on the left and the output in the "preview" pane on the right.  When I hit play in the multicam window they play fine for about half to one second both panes begin to intermittently freeze for about another second then they both freeze completely.  I can shuttle (scrub in your world) through the main sequence and the multicam window will play with some jerkiness but it's not stable enough to be useful.  If I hit play on the main sequence window both the program and the multicam windows will play but will do the same lockup thing after a couple of seconds.
I'm just copying my project off of my external drive to the internal drive to see if that helps things out.  I'll update when that's done in an hour or so.

  • Multi-Cam Monitor on Regular Sequence?

can you use Multi-cam monitor on a "Regular Sequence" or can you only use it on a "Multi-Camera Source Sequence.

I don't understand the point of the question.  If you have multiple cameras you need to cut between, you use the Multicam feature of PP.  If you don't, then what would be the point in wanting to use the multicam monitor?

  • CS3 Multi-Cam Monitor quality

Has anyone else had difficulty with the display quality in the Multi-Cam monitor. While the video is playing, all displays (each camera monitor and the multi-cam preview monitor) show video at low quality. When the playback is paused, the quality is fine.
Is this usual ? or have I set something up wrong ?
    thanks for any feedback.
    Cheers
    Andy

    Hi,
I've noticed that the program sometimes gives up quality on monitors to favor giving more computer resources to processing the frames of the video and sound, etc.  It's not unusual for me to see not so great quality while playing and then settle into a decent "still frame" when stopped.

  • IPhone footage zoomed in Multi Cam monitor

I am editing a wedding for a friend on CS6, for the first dance I used a camcorder on a tripod and my iPhone 4s. I have synced them in multi cam but when using the multi cam monitor the iPhone footage has zoomed in, how do I zoom it back out?

More specifically, based on your explanation, the camera is probably DV at 720X480, or maybe the smaller HD at 1280X720 while the iPhone is 1920X1080.
You have two basic choices. Context click on the larger footage and select "Scale to Frame Size" or better yet, click on the footage and go to the Effect Controls panel and use the Motion effect's Scale parameter to scale it down.
You may choose to scale it exactly, or you may decide to leave it a little larger if that frames the picture better. It depends on the footage. I often find that I want to focus the viewer's attention on the better part of the larger frame. I can do this better if I edit in a smaller frame. Once again, it depends on the footage as well as the distribution method.

  • My iphone 4s suddenly displays images from Yahoo, Google, and Flickr at low resolution. The camera on my phone works fine, but any web related photo content is now pixelated and low res, what's the deal?

My iphone 4s suddenly displays images from Yahoo, Google, and Flickr at a low resolution. I have IOS 7.0.4. My phone camera works fine, but any web based photo content from Safari, Yahoo images, Google images, and Flickr all come in pixelated and low res. What's the deal?

It happened to me but later I figured out that cellular signal was not that great and so the Internet was very slow. It took me about 2 minutes to get the full resolution picuture on either of the app you've described. Try to get faster internet either by wifi or good signal and then check.

  • Multi cam monitor not working

With no change whatsoever, except for the passage of time -- two days-- the multi camera display suddenly shows only the selected camera on the right.
    Help, please.

    Mark
Thank you for your reply and interest. Indeed I will send all you request, and I hope some answer can be found. I am getting desperate.
I am not the only one with this problem; see one with CS6,and one on Creative Cow (who gave up).  Also, this effect is occurring in projects that were created weeks ago, had worked fine, have not been accessed until today, and there it is!
I am using premiere 7.2.2 and 2014.  Same problem on both.  Here is a screen shot of how it should be:
and here is one of what happens...
    Please, please help.
