Multi-Camera Problems in Premiere CC v7.1.0 (141)

I have the CC edition of Premiere and it automatically updated a couple days ago to v.7.1.0 (141), but ever since the update, I've tried to create multi-camera sequences, nest it in a target sequence and instead of just showing 1 layer of vidoe and 1 layer of audio in the target sequence, it shows all videos and all audio from the multi-camera sequence.  Because of it, I can no longer enable multi-camera editing.  Can someone help or anyone else having similar problems?  I'm using a MBP OSX (v10.9), 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM.

Is the "linked selection" icon selected or not? You can find that on the top right of your timeline. Toggling it allows you to drop a nested sequence (eg. multicam) on a timeline as either one single nested clip or as the expanded view with all the clips showing which it sounds like you are referring to. It's the middle icon here:
Good luck!

  • Need help with Multi-cam editing in Premiere Pro CC/7.0

I've been using 6.0 for a while now, and had to install 7.0/cc, but now I can't find where to record multi-cam edits.  I've already lined up my clips and created a new sequence and enabled multi-cam, I just don't see the Multi-Cam Editor.  Please help!

    Hey!
I found the record-button in the programm panel. But now it won't let me hit record. The button is disabled (see screenshot).
What can I do about it?
If I just hit play and then change the angles in the source window, Premiere won't record those edits. Only thing it does is it keeps the whole clip in this one angle.

  • Poor multi-camera performance in Premiere Pro CS6

I've been trying to edit my camera footage using multi-camera window and the playback is extremely choppy and slow in the viewer, so I pretty much cannot use it. Any ideas? Are there certain settings I can tweak?
I did a search and it seems like the CPU/GPU would be the bottlenecks but I believe my machine is pretty good: i7 2700k with SATA III SSD, GTX 480 and 16GB of RAM.
Thank you in advance for your help.

What driver are you on for your GTX 480?
I'm aware of a number of things that have been reported as causing choppy playback
Playback Resolution and Paused Resolution being set to full. If that's the case, try  dialing back to 1/2 or even 1/4.
A high number of layers. How many are in your multicam sequence? Also, do you have any cases of a sequence containing a nested sequence that in turn contains a nested sequence?
The type of video--some are more resource intensive to decode than othters. What kind are you working with (codec and wrapper)?
    Using multiple graphics cards
Effects. Which ones are you using, if any?
A slow hard drive, or using an external without a fast enough interface. (from the info you provided, that doesn't sound like a likely culprit)
It might be worth downloading the trial of Premiere Pro CC to see if performance is better in the new version. I'm not trying to sell you on subscribing to Creative Cloud. It would just be good to know if you find better performance in CC.

  • Help with multi camera editing in Premiere Pro

Ok I'm new...so bear with me.
I am editing a basic interview shot on two cameras and cutting away to some still images.
The rushes are 4 lots of film about 10 mins in length.
I inputted the footage from the two cameras and created a new sequence for each using the multi camera audio synchronisation method (which worked great).
So how do I go about creating my edit? Something tells me I'm going about it in the wrong way.
Do I need to create my edit using single camera shots and then create multi camera sequences for each individual clip? It seems so laborious as its all already synced up for two cameras.
I am a bit confused about creating clips v creating sequences.
I'm sorry if this is making some of you cringe :/ ....but I really can't find any help in online tutorials.
I need basic step by step instruction.

humm, sounds like your 4 lots do not overlap in time, and that there is space between each lot. So would that be 4 multi-camera sequences with the two cameras?
If so, why even multicamera edit that? and just set up to Video tracks, sync the audio and opacity keyframe between the two tracks.
Good to get your multi-camera edit workflow going proper though.
Sounds like you need to multi-camera edit your 4 sequences separately, unless you sync each lot with its corresponding clip and put on the same timeline, then do one sequence and one multi-camera edit

  • Multi camera problems- red screens

I'm almost seven min. into an 18 min. edit and PPCC keeps hanging up and then giving me these red screens.  I've never seen this before.  Anyone know what the problem is???

    Hi Patrick,
I would suggest that you rollback to CS6, or whatever version you were previously using - emphatically!
Click on that little red "x" in the bottom right of your screen and check out the error messages - perhaps some sort of "media read error?" Since 8.1, users of Canon MXF media have been howling about just the sort of red-frame hang-up that you are experiencing. I personally have been having terrible audio dropouts as well. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that some flavors of Sony media might be affected as well. Adobe staff have been working on this set of bugs for about 4 weeks, and recently have simply stopped responding to the forums on the topic (the problem seems to have something to do with the metadata [xmp?] "sidecar" files that work alongside many current types of media) - it seems they have learned what they can from us and are laying low while trying to engineer a fix. Needless to say, there is an impatient mood.
If you are at liberty to roll back and start-over with your project in CS6, I urge you to do so before investing any more work into the project on PrPro8.1. Hopefully the next release will focus on stability instead of features (and highlight colors).
    Good Luck,

  • Multi camera synchronization problems on Premier CC

    Hi
I'm working on PC. I've encountered a lot of problems in working on multi camera in Adobe Premiere CC. Could anybody could help me solve these problems?
1- when I work on Multi camera, after doing some edits, when I put some inserts in upper layers, the synchronization (sound-film) gets lost.
2- In working on Multi camera, after lots of edit and choosing of different cameras, when I close and reopen the project, the edit points are still there, but the image is from elsewhere (not sync at all) and you've actually lost all the time you made edits.
3- In another example: after using some cameras and doing some edits on Multi camera, when I closed and then reopened the project, all of that layer was back on one camera (camera 3).
    Thanks, Jim.

  • Create Multi-Camera Source Sequence Options Box Problem in CS6

Hello there; it seems in my CS6 i dont the complete box as the below:-
i only have in points, Out points and Time codes ( I dont have the Audio and the remain box) as the above.
Is anyone able to en-light me? as i have to do Multicam project as as possible
    Regards & Thanks

that seems to be exclusive to the CC version. so you would either have to upgrade or find a work around.  you can manually sync the footage using markers or in points, or if doing this alot and you dont want to upgrade might look at pluraleyes.

  • How can I get the "Multi-Camera Record" button to show up in the Multi-Camera editor?

I've used the Multi-Camera editor in Premiere for years but in the most recent update (Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014) I can't get the Multi-Camera Editor to record my camera switches. I looked for the Multi-Camera Record button but it wasn't where it used to be, and even when hitting the plus sign to add more buttons it does not appear in that menu either.
What am I missing here? Please help. Thank you.

Did you try it in the program monitor?

  • Help Improve Premiere! FR: Separate, maximizable Multi-camera view

Do you ever use Premiere CC's Multi-Camera tools?  Then this FR is for you!
Please copy/paste as your own and send to https://www.adobe.com/go/wish/.  Every voice counts!
    *******Enhancement / FMR*********
Brief title for your desired feature: Separate windows for Multi-camera view and Program Monitor, with ability to tilde toggle to full screen either or both.
How would you like the feature to work?
The Multi-camera view and the Program Monitor should occupy separate, individually resizable and maximizable windows.
Why is this feature important to you?
The way these interface elements are currently squeezed into the same window is extremely limiting as far a viewing options.  When the Multi-camera view is displayed, users can no longer do a full-screen preview of their edit, nor can they do a full screen preview of their multi-camera angles.  This is unnecessarily restrictive.  By putting the Multi-camera view in it's own window, and allowing it to be tilde maximized to full screen, users would have so much more flexibility for viewing their camera angles and their final edit while editing multi-camera sequences.

    Hi Kevin,
I'm not sure how sticking the Multi-Camera View together with the Program Monitor does anything to clean up the interface.  But supposing it does somehow, how can the person responsible for this change justify 'cleaning' the interface at the tremendous expense of functionally?
The current design simply isn't functional as already stated:
Full screen preview can't be used for the Program Monitor and/or the Camera Angles.
The Camera Angles can't be positioned and resized independently on their own monitor.  Ditto for the Program Monitor.
How could the PP team miss this?  Sorry to be brash, but it just baffles me how an entire team of  adults can commit such an obvious gaffe.    Perhaps they need to screen their ideas past real users, users like me that think outside the box and speak up when things don't work.  For sure Adobe already does this, but it clearly isn't working, either because they're consulting the wrong people and/or they're getting the right feedback but aren't listening to it.
When I have to multicam edit on my laptop, I would LOVE to be able to display ONLY my camera angles in Full Screen.  This would make each camera angle a usable size on a 17" laptop, and leave out any and all distracting interface elements (something helpful on any size monitor).   After my initial edit is finished, I could then scale down my Multi-camera View and place it next to my Program Monitor above my Timeline to refine the edit.  The current design makes this logical approach impossible.
I was REALLY hoping to see this fixed in 7.2.  The problems with the current design are so painfully obvious to me, every single time I do multicamera editing.  IMHO, it should also be obvious to anyone that trully understand video editing.
You wrote "this appeals to some and not to others.", but for the life of me, I can't see how this change could possible appeal to anyone (other than a sadist that gets pleasure out of seeing an editor's workflow getting screwed).

  • Premiere Pro CC multi camera sync

I have a problem here: When trying to create a multi-camera-source file. I have two cameras, with audio from the camera and a .wav file from my zoom recorder. The .wav file has been adjusted in Audition CS6
Premiere pro cc sync's all the camera audio and video just fine,  it creates a multi-camera-source nested file , but the .wav file from my zoom is out of sync despite there being a 'very' audible hand-clap on all the tracks ...
This would be a great feature if it worked.
Any ideas why this might happen and any ideas for solutions.

    HI Mark,
Hope you don't mind me bringing this up here but I also had an issue with Syncing clips with new multicam feature. Mine was slightly different though in that often we film with two cameras and a Zoom H4N recording audio.
Often we will stop and start the cameras but then sync using audio waveform with the always recording zoom H4N. In Plural Eyes this would sync great and all the camera shots would stay in one video track in the timeline (i.e. the one assigned to that camera). However, using Adobe Sync option it made a new video track for each shot from each camera!! I had about 40 new video tracks to sort through and the sync hadn't worked.
Is there a way to enable all the shots from one camera to stay on the one track when syncing via Adobe?
    Cheers for any help.
    Best wishes,
    Alex

  • Premiere freezes when shuttling left in multi-camera window

Ever since I upgraded to CS4, if I shuttle left (press J) while stopped inside the Multi-Camera window, Premiere will freeze. Sometimes its 3-5 seconds, sometimes its for good. While the interface doesn't completely lock up (I can click on things), if I try to stop and re-play something using the mouse, there will continue to be a delay. If I shuttle left while playing inside Multi-Camera, however, it works fine. I do not encounter this type of freezing anywhere else in the software (if I shuttle left from the actual timeline, not Multi-Camera, its fine).
I'm using CS4 on the Mac. This never happened in CS3. Because of the annoying behavior of Multi-Camera, if I do live switching, making an edit mark when I stop playing, I have to constantly start and stop when making my edits, so this rewind behavior is EXTREMELY annoying. And because I do 90% of my work inside Multi-Camera, I can't escape the problem.
Is this happening to anyone else?? Any suggestions?

I'll try to reproduce on my end.  in the meantime, have you tried something as simple as this? http://blogs.adobe.com/genesisproject/2009/11/having_weird_behavior_with_an.html
You might also try cleaning your media cache (prefs>media I think).
    Hope this helps,
    Dennis

  • Problem with Multi-camera function

    Hi!
I have three camera angles - I put them each on different stage but since one guy had a problem and had to stop recording the whole thing got a little messy and I had to divide audio and video tracks to compensate with audio, however two of my tracks are now splitted in two (with blank space inside) and if I use group function - "Set clip marker" is no longer working and I cannot synchronize the video and prepare it for multi-camera editing.
I hope you understand what I mean and thanks in advance for any advise!
    Thanks :)

    Colin,
I did a multi camera edit of Act 1 of a taped performance and all went well. Moved on to Act 2, which ran longer and each camera needed a tape change. So I matched the clips from each camera on each video track and tried to move on to the sync & then create a multi camera sequence stage of the project. That's when I hit a road block. I could not sync the four video tracks. So I consulted Adobe's on line help and this was all I could find about my predicament:
Note: Adobe Premiere Pro uses an overlay edit when  synchronizing clips. Take care not to overwrite adjacent clips if you have  multiple clips on the same track.
So what was I to do next? I found your post and now know exactly what to do. Thanks for a great explaination and saving me a lot of head scratching.
Why couldn't Adobe explain it as well?
    Thanks,
    Angelo

  • Using Audio Sync for Multi-Cam Edits Premiere Pro CC

Hello everyone - I wanted to share some issues I've come across while using Audio to sync multiple camera angles....
For my music video shoot I have two cameras and an external recorder where I capture the audio and then edit in GarageBand or Adobe Audition. The problem I've discovered is that when I sync the clips using audio it will degrade the quality of my finalized audio clip.
Basically, something is happening to the audio clip quality once Premiere completed the synchronization process. I've rendered the video, exported the video etc... But there is still audio quality degradation.
I've compared this with Final Cut Pro X and the Audio in FCP X remains unchanged and is not altered in any way.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Update: I just happened happened to have a pair of ath m50s lying around.... put them on and I can see that in the multi cam sequence, I can hear only out of the left ear... once I drag and drop something to my timeline the audio's good again...
    Sorry for this question... operator???
I shoot tech videos on YouTube and I edit my own videos, so I guess I am the operator & observer here...
    Am shooting a tutorial...
Cam 1 - My Camcorder that shoots the phone
Cam 2 - Actually a screen recorder that records the steps on screen & audio from webcam
Audio - Blue Spark Digital recording to audacity
Now if I merge Cam 1 & Audio or Cam 2 & Audio alls fine... I can check the audio meters and everythings the same as before
But if I create a multicamera sequence then the audio output is about 20% lower (and no Premiere's not using the audio source from Cam1 or 2 here since they are too low and am 100% sure its not either of those)
I guess am messing up something but am unable to identify what..
    Syncronize Point - Audio
    Track Channel - 1
    Sequence Preset - Automatic
Audio Sequence Settings - Camera 1
Audio Channels Preset - Automatic (or Mono since my Blue Spark records in mono)
    Camera Names - Enumerate Cameras
Any Idea where am messing up?
    Ash
