Multi copies of same dvd

If I am making many copies of one DVD , what is the best way to do that?

Hi,
If you want to make copies of a DVD you are making
via iDVD [a reasonable assumption since you're asking
the question in the iDVD area]..
..Use iDVD to create a Disk Image, then use Disk
Utility to burn the DVD.
Since the Disk Image remains after each DVD you burn,
you can use it as a master to burn multiple,
identical DVDs.
Peter
thank you Peter

I downloaded two movies from itunes at the same time (both free digital copies from a dvd) and when they finished downloading... they disappeared. I've not been able to re-download them or find them.. anywhere. Any suggestions for tracking them down?

If you downloaded them on your computer's iTunes then they should have gone into the Movies part of your iTunes library, if on a device (iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch) then into the Videos app - they haven't appeared there ?
If you downloaded on your PC and they don't show in the Movies section then you could try searching for them by name (or part of their name) via windows explorer and see if that finds them. Or if you downloaded them on a device and they aren't in the Videos app then have you got a film age rating set in Settings > General > Restrictions that is hiding them, and if not can you find them via the device's spotlight search screen (swipe your first homescreen to the right) ?

  • How can I save multiple titles under the same DVD?

I use HandBrake to rip DVD's into iTunes. How can I save multiple titles under the same DVD? For instance, I have a Jimi Hendrix documentary that comes with special features, such as concert performances. I would like to have the main feature and the special features saved in my iTunes under the same title, perhaps as different 'tracks' (kind of like how different songs can be saved under the same album).
Is there a way for me to do this, or am I chasing phantoms?

*This response is for iPhoto 11 (v9). If you're using an earlier version, please post back and let us know. Troubleshooting steps are not the same for different versions. To find out which iPhoto you have: iPhoto Menu -> About iPhoto)*
Duplicate the photo first. (Photos -> Duplicate). This means that you will have multiple copies of the master as well as the edited version.
If you use versions like this often and wish to have only one master then you can do this with Aperture.

  • Work flow? How to link multi-cam sequences for DVD output?

    Pr cs4 (very new)
Still taking baby steps each day... please take my hand and help me!
Final output will be 2 DVD's (each DL) each about 2 hrs. Content are chamber music student groups in two recitals.
I have assets from two camera angles. I have successfully practiced on one of the groups performance (10 min.) following the steps illustrated in a multi-cam tutorial.  http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/video_workshop/?id=vid0234
This leaves me with a great multi-cam sequence for that group located in the Project Panel, exactly what I want.
Now, I want to know what is the best method (workflow?) to ultimately produce a DVD containing about 10 of these type performances (one after the other) with chapter markings for each group, titles etc.?
I have yet to use Encore and I'm guessing that is where I'll send the finished edit for DVD production, though I don't know at what step I jump there?
Do I try to create one very long multi cam sequence of all the content, then send to Encore? Or can I create seperate multi-cam sequences (each performance) then link them together, adding transitions and make the DVD? This would be my preference to keep things more manageable, especially with audio synching.
With my practice multi-cam sequence on the timeline, I tried to drag the same sequence from the Project Panel to the end of the timeline to simulate how this would work, but it does not add to the timeline as a clip would.
This is probably childs play for you pro's, but we were all baby's at one time...I just happen to still be one!
Thanks for your patience and advice,
    Kenny

Yes I did...now toss me a cookie please.
I am trying to quickly get up to speed in Pr CS4 to get this project completed. In the process, I'm trying to learn and understand the interface and correct terminology so as to make my questions intelligible to a community that posses vastly greater understanding than myself.
Is there anyone who can help with my main question at hand? Namely, how to go about creating a full length sequence (in the timeline) made via the nesting of synchronized multi-camera clips within a new "multi-cam sequence"?
As I said, I have completed a small test sequence in this fashion, nesting clips in a new sequence then using multi-cam monitor to record cuts. Now I need to add about 10 more of these together in a completed sequence to then send to DVD production.
    Is this intelligible?
    Thanks, Kenny

  • How can I make 10 Copies of my DVD

I have a Mac G5 running system 10.4.7. I am using iLife 6.0.2 and i have Toast 6.0. I have been using iLife for a couple of years and have made many short DVDs using iDVD with no problems. I read an artical in the July, 2005 issue of Macworld on page 78 titled "Prevent DVD Disasters". It tells how to make several DVDs using the disk image method. It also says that you can put the raw images on the disk. I did not try to use disk utility as they suggested. I wanted to use Toast as they also explained. I have made three attempts and each has failed to work properly. Since the movies that I made in iMovie were so short the movies and the raw data fits on the DVD with no problem.
I created two movies and an intrduction. I work with teenagers in our church. About a dozen of us camped out in the woods behind our house, played paintball and went swimming. I took all of the pictures with a Canon camera. The introduction is 1 minute and 14 seconds, consisting of movie clips and still shots. The first movie that I made was combining 8 video clips that I made using iMovie, the movie is less than 3 minutes long. The second movie consists of one video clip that runs for 33 seconds and 24 still pictures, this movie runs for less than 5 minutes.
Here is what I am trying to do, one include the raw data and make 10 copies of the DVD with out having to make them with iDVD one at a time. I know that if I use iDVD and make them one at a time it takes much longer than making them from a disk copy. I know it would not be much trouble with this short DVD, but I would like to learn so I could make longer DVDs and save time.

HOW TO copy previously-burned DVD-R video discs:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=42724
you need to create ONE dvd in iDVD, then you can follow advice in the link above.
Or simply use the "copy" function of Toast...
we are less interested in the content of your project (teenagers in your church), but ...
    * did you use a miniDV or a still-cam with some "moving image" ability? which Canon model?
    * do you create an iM project, or did you try to import the files direct to iDVD
    * do you want to create a dataDVD (not possible with iDVD) or a videoDVD?
you're talking of "raw pics"- do you mean, you want to create a videoDVD with some data content in a DVD-rom section...?
besides: you should update your version of Toast to 6.1.1. (think this is the actual one)...

Now I tried to delete those copies using the plugin (Remove multiple messages) but it doesn't seem to delete. Still shows same amount of emails (about 35000), about 28000 needs to be deleted, in my inbox folder.
So when I try to get new emails, it says hard-drive is full etc... it isn't full. Webmail works great, but only have the latest 7days emails.

Were you able to resolve this problem? I have the same issue, but on a macbook pro.

  • Do I need to get a separate program to burn multiples copies of a DVD on Mac?

Do I need to get a separate program to burn multiples copies of a DVD on Mac, and not have the copies separate into AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS?  I made a series of lesson plans on iMovie.  When it opens on the original disk, it goes right to my music and intro menu.  When I try to burn it to a new DVD, it shows up as AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS.  It does not open at all.  Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Chris

Does the disk image that you created from the previously burned iDVD project look like this?
If so you don't copy any part of it to a blank DVD.  You open Disk Utility and select it like I do in this screenshot:
insert a blank DVD and click on the Burn button.

  • Possible to have both HD and SD on same dvd?

    Hi there.
I was wondering if it was possible to have both a HD1080i60, and a DVNTSC on the same dvd?
The DVD is a standard def dvd, but i would like to have a "Extras" section, which would include a couple of HD clips.
    Is this possible?
Do i just need to make the HD seqeunces 16:9 ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

rom content? what exactly does that mean, and how would i go about doin it?
I just want to have a bonus section on my dvd, that includes HD versions of edits that are SD letterbox on the actual movie.. So the whole point is to have a the bonus section show that those edits look like in actual HD, not letterboxed...
    So is this possible?

  • Backups to same DVD more than once

I have just started to use PSE 7 and have moved all my photos into it.  I did the initial backup to a DVD but now that I want to backup my new pictures, it seems to want a new DVD.  I don't take all that many pictures so it would take me some months fill up a DVD.  It doesn't seem to like DVD-R and with DVD-RW, it tells me there is something on the DVD and do I want to erase it.  How do I use PSE7 to backup or copy pictures to the same DVD more than once?  Thanks.

As far as I know, one can burn contents to a DVD only once...
If you’re using a DVD-RW you have to erase the old contents first...
On can burn a CD several times until filled up though...
You might consider using an external Firewire Hard-drive for your backup...?

  • Mixed content (4:3 and 16:9) on same DVD

I'm working on a DVD that contains both 4:3 and 16:9 videos. The main feature is 4:3, but some bonus features are 16:9 so I'd like them to play back in 16:9 on widescreen TVs. How should I configure and prepare the DVD (4:3 or 16:9, iDVD or Toast)?
My inclination is to prepare the disc 16:9, making sure all relevant menu content (text, etc.) fits in the 4:3 safe area. However, would that cause any problem for watching the 4:3 video -- or would viewers' DVD players know to still display 4:3 video 4:3, even on an otherwise 16:9 disc?
I also considered making it a 4:3 project, but then I wondered about having problems displaying the 16:9 clips on a 16:9 TV?

There are always going to be issues with televisions not being set properly/"breaking" the DVD and you need to do what you need to do to accomplish what the end result is intended to be. In other words for you to create the DVD as you envision it to tell a story or whatever, if 4:3 and 16:9 are needed to do it properly, then that is the answer.
I have put 4:3 and 16:9 on the same DVD and have used various approaches (though you cannot put 16:9 and 4:3 on the same track)
Either put something that says that some tracks are 4:3 and others 16:9 so people can adjust the tv as needed, or drop the 4:3 into a 16:9 track to have it pillarboxed or if you are so inclined, adjusted so the 4:3 fits in the 16:9 fully (or drop the 16:9 into 4:3 and effectively makes a Pann & Scan sort of if you adjust things). Of course alot of it depends on the footage, whether it holds up and whether things can be cut out.
Heck,, so many people cannot tell even now whether 4:3 is stretched on a 16:9 screen, people may not even notice

Place the DVD in the drive

Save the image, then you will have the image to mount/burn as mentioned in the Ken Stone site article
