Multi factory calender can be assigned to workcenter or not

Hi,
Is it possible to assign two or more factory calenders to workcenter.If it is possible means,Please give me some clear overview to do the same.

Hello,
Now you want to make use of sunday, So go in work center in capacities screen define your interval of aviable capacity there, you will get option workdays there you have to select :- Working days (overrides factory calendar).
OR
If you are not using the shift sequence just add the interval of avaible capacity there you have to select the option work days :- 1 Working days (overrides factory calendar)
It will work for you. Please try this and come back

Factory Calender taking wrongly

Dear Experts,
                     We have extended the factory calender which are assigned to the plants. But after New year the system is thrwing error like " Date lies after factory Calender 01", even though we assigned another factory calender and holi day calender..? This is happening to particulary one plant in one server. All other servers are OK .Then We extended the 01 calender in the development then it is OK. I want to know why system is considering 01 calender instead of assigned calender???

                    The Only one calender is defined and found one Definition only. As SAid by one of our expert there be BUFFER problem as SAP also suggested to refresh the FACTORY CALENDER as it is ending with 2010 year.
                    My Problem got solved as We updated/extended the 01 calender eventhough it is not attached to any plant.
                    My question is Why Particular Plant only behing like this ? If any BUFFER problem is there it will be applicable to all the Plants in that Server. I am getting this error when creating Sales Order (VA01).
                    For this I raised a request Note to SAP.My problem got solved Can I open this question as unanswered or Can I close it as I got solution ? Please Let me know Sir.

Factory calender issue -reg.

During maintenance off we need to change the factory calender to holidays for production shut down purpose .
At the same time warehouse will work through which billing and other things happen.
if i set the days as holidays in factory calender ware hose is not able to bill during these days .
if i am setting as working days production planning is getting effected.
we can not use two different calenders as we can assign only one calender to a plant
what shall we do?

Hi,
The non working days and working days in the factory calender can be overrided
in the shift sequence .
steps to follow :
1 Go to Workcenters Scheduling tab page.
2.Click Capacties Header.
3. Go to intervals and shifts .
4. Edit --> insert --> insert interval
   Enter maintenance off date and in the workdays coloumn
   three options are available.
   option 1 : working days according to factory calender
   option 2 : Non working days( overrides factory
              calender)
   option 3 : working days (overrides factory calender)
This means for your problem you need to enter the option2
ie though you have specified in factory calender as working day, for all these workcenters the system will
plan in such a way as holiday on the specified date.
Other areas won't get affected.

Assigning Apps to Multiple, not all, Spaces

Yo,
So I know how to move and assign applications to certain spaces. My question, however, is whether an application can be assigned to multiple, but not all, spaces. For example, I would like iTunes to be in spaces 1,3, and 5 but not in 2,4 or 6. As far as I've seen, you can only assign it to either no spaces, 1 space or all spaces. Anyone else have any success in this area?

Factory Calender assigned to Plant & resource/Work center

Hello,
If we have assigned the Factory Calender "XX" which has 5 working day(Monday to Friday) with no Special rules & no Holiday Calender to Plant & "YY" Factory Calender to Work center which has 365 days working with no no Special rules & no Holiday Calender.Now, when MRP creates Planned Orders for FERT material It did not create it on Weekends(i.e. on Saturday & Sunday) though the factory calender assigned is "YY" (which has 365 days working )in work center.Why?
Actually it should have consider the Work center assigned Calender for Capacity planning & Schedulling purpose.
If I assign the Factory Calender "YY" to plant then it will create the procurement proposal on weekends which is not acceptable to external procurement MRP Controller as plant office works only 5 days.
Please guide.

Goto CR02/03 , select the Capacity tabe "hat" and u will fined there is tabe "Available Capacity " .U have to maintain the Active version ok.
Basically , the active version is used for scheduling and capacity planning. If you have not entered an active version, the standard available capacity is used, even if an available capacity version has been entered.
At the same u have to check out the below requirement :
you must maintain the following data in the capacity header:
1.The grouping, that defines which shift sequences and shift definitions can be used to maintain the available capacity
2.The number of the active version of available capacity
3.The base unit of measure of the available capacity
3.The factory calendar, that is the basis of the available capacity-Workcentre
If you do not enter a factory calendar , the system uses the default calendar for the plant.
I hope in your case , u have the shift sequence of 5 work days for the calander you have assinged in work centre .
Please check all those n come back .

Invalid factory calender error in creating subcontrating po

during creation of subcontracting po,system shows the error message "invalid factory calender error".
i have checked the assignment in oy05.seems ok.

Hi,
Please check the path.
IMG>Enterprise Structure>Definition>Logistics - General>Define, copy, delete, check plant-->Define Plant.
Here you can find the which factory calender is assigned to your plant.
Then go to Tcode SCAL , select the Holiday calender and edit it . Double click on your holiday calender and change it i.e valid From year to To year. Go back , select the factory calender and edit it , give valid From year to To year.

Factory calender issue

Hi all,
Here goes a problem with factory calender in project systems.
The Project performed by the client are flexible. in some projects they work considering sunday as holiday and in some cases they work on sundays.
we have only one plant assigned to the projects which has only one factory calender assigned. e.g plant 1000 to factory calender F1(considering sunday as holiday)
when i create a new project if i change the factory calender at project definition to F2(considering sunday as working) and then if i go futher creating activities. system will still take the default factory calender assigned to plant i.e F1 and not F2.. the factory calender F2 can be seen in project definition, wbs element and activities.
but when i change dates at network header level and try to schedule.. system is considering factory calender F1.
can anyone pls tell me how to solve this problem.

Please go to work centre --- capacity --- assign required calendar there.
As in the activity calendar will be picked up from work centre

Problem in Factory Calender

Hi,
When creating the sales order the system shows the messege" Date 05.02.2009 occurs after the end of factory calendar IN from plant X".
So when i tried to change the validity period for factory calender IN to 2009, then the system again showing the messege "Please enter validity area between years 2007 - 2007"-The validity period specified for the factory calendar exceeds that of the selected public holiday calendar.
So how can i change the Year in Factory Calender.

under SAP Netweaver - General Setting - Maintain Calendar check which holday calendar is assigned to your factory calendar IN. In the secons step change the validity for your holiday calendar.

I' ve the result.
With the Code "SCAL" you have to create a public holiday. After that you can choise the holiday kalender and assign the public holiday you have created.

you need to use the following path
Go to SPRO>ENTERPRISE STRUCTURE->DEFINITION> LOG GENERAL>DEFINE COPY,DELETE AND CHECK PLANT>DEFINE PLANT
Here you need to assign the factory calendar. The assignment in work center will only applicable for capacity not for MRP and others.
<b>For information how to create a factory calendar</b>
Pl follow the steps
1.Go to SCAL transaction
2.there will be three options.
Click first public holidays and go in change mode.
Click create and create your holidays there and save.(Generally fixed date will be used in the pop up)
3.Now click Holiday calendar and go in change mode.
Click create and give holdiay cal id and description.
Click assign public holiday and add your holidays one by one and save
Now holiday cal is created.
4.Now come out and choose fact calendar and go in change mode
Click create and give Factory calendar id and description, and validity period.
Give the holiday calendar ID.
If you want to give special rule like any of the specific date/ day is the holiday or work day (which is different from holiday calendar you can define)
and save.
5.You have to assign factory calendar to PLANT
Go to SPRO>ENTERPRISE STRUCTURE->DEFINITION> LOG GENERAL>DEFINE COPY,DELETE AND CHECK PLANT>DEFINE PLANT
Choose your plant and go to details-
You have to define factory calendar there

Factory calendar specify the work days at the customer's site .These calendars are used to determine when a delivery must take place in order for it to reach the customer's site on a work day when it can be received. We also use the factory calendar in consolidated invoicing. That is, if we specify that only one day a week is a working day for our customer ,the billing documents are only to be created for that one day each week, causing delivery documents to be consolidated into one billing document.
You maintain the factory calendar in IMG in T code SCAL and assign the factory calendar with plant and also sales org in Img while defining the plant in the Enterprise structure .If you donu2019t maintain it and make the standard order you will get an error-"Factory calendar missing or error in factory calendar".
Factory Calendar decides the holidays for the plant.
Sales order flow to production order and based on the factory calendar material availability will be confirmed to the customer.
Production planning/Scheduling will happen based on Factory Calendar

How to load the factory calender in to Bi system

   There is a function module in Bw side U pass ur variable and ur factory calendar id and u get the desired factory date as output...u can check the same in SCAL.
