Multi-forest communication on same host

I have a single hyper-v host running on server 2012R2. On the host I have two domain controllers in separate forests. Domain A is connected to an external network and has the subnet 192.168.200.1/24. Domain B is connected to an internal network and has
the subnet 192.168.25.1/24. How would I go about making the two domain controllers talk to one another using name resolution?

  • SPNego for multi-forest using IBM JDK

    Hi All,
I need to setup SPNego authentication for EP7 and IBM JDK for a multi-forest landscape (2 Active directory domains).  There's a guide about how to do this for Sun JDK : https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c771c3d3-0c01-0010-b5b6-86755a2cf778 but I need one for IBM JDK as the login stack mudules are different.
Can anyone supply me with a guide or any helpful information regarding this ?  Do you know if it works?  I've currently got SPNego working for a single domain.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Anthony

    Jan,
ok, thanks. I will now explain how I think we can help.
Firstly, to be sure you understand - I represent a SAP partner company known as CyberSafe, and we have a product which uses SPNEGO for Kerberos authentication in a browser environment, so my answer relates mainly to our product functionality, and not related to the SAP login module, which has less functionality.
I must also apologise in case anybody reading this thread has an issue with me discussing non-SAP software. My view is that the most important thing on this forum is to help you (the SAP customer) get a solution that meets your needs, and if this involves SAP Partner products as well as SAP products, then that is acceptable.
Firstly, our product does not use the Java implementation of Kerberos. Instead, we use a JNI (Java Native Interface) so that our host based Kerberos library can be used to implement the protocol. This means that any differences between IBM, SUN or any other vendor JDK version related to Kerberos functionality, multi-domain support etc. are not relavent to our product. We support many things in our product which are not supported in Java implementations of Kerberos, so you don't need to wait for new versions of JDK to take advantage.
Secondly, and perhaps more relavent to this discussion is that our login module authenticates the user by decrypting the service ticket received using the key in the Key Table File on the host, and then we map this principal name onto a SAP user id. We then (via. the login module stack) cause the SAP system to issue an SSO2 logon ticket for this user id. The secret is the way we perform the mapping - we are not dependant on UME datasources for this, and I will describe below how we acheive mapping by using an example :
Lets suppose a user is authenticated as user.name@DOMAIN1, the SAP system login module has been setup using domain 2 (Realm = DOMAIN2) and trusted via a key in a key table file, with principal name of HTTP/hostname@DOMAIN2. Then, using normal Kerberos cross realm trust, and cross realm TGTs the browser requests a ticket from AD for HTTP/hostname@DOMAIN2, and this is issued by AD in domain 2 using the cross realm TGT, but the principal name of the authenticated user inside this service ticket is user.name@DOMAIN1. The login module on the SAP server can decrypt the ticket it receives to find the users Kerberos principal name.
So, the login module knows the user is user.name@DOMAIN1, it then has to decide how to determine the SAP user id. Our login module currently supports two different methods of performing this mapping, but we are adding more methods in each release to make the product even more flexible. Currently we support the following methods :
    1. Simple mapping - this is where we remove the realm name and convert the principal name to upper case, so in this example user.name@DOMAIN1 would be mapped to a SAP userid of USER.NAME and used to issue an SSO2 ticket. Clearly this is only suitable for single domains, and makes administration very easy - many of our customers use this method, but you would need a different mapping method due to yoru multiple domains.
    2. USRACL mapping - Since we also sell an SNC product for SAP GUI SSO, our customers already maintain mapping of Kerberos principal name to SAP user id using a table in ABAP engine called USRACL. This table is maintained using SU01 transaction. We now have support in our login module to read the USRACL table using the authenticated Kerberos principal name of the user (e.g. user.name@DOMAIN1) and find the required SAP user id, so that an SSO2 logon ticket can be issued.
I hope this helps you understand. If you are interested in more detail about our product, and how we might be able to help you, please feel free to contact me offline instead of via this forum.
    Thanks,
    Tim

  • SSO within an ABAP+JAVA on the same host

    Experts:
We have a dual stack (ABAP+JAVA) NW04s on the same host.
The usage type EP7 is enabled.
From this EP7 we want to access its own ITS thru SSO.
We configured the SSO just like we did for the EP7 + ECC on 2 different hosts.
However, we are always asked for an ID/password when trying to test the SSO from the EP7.
    The error is:
"SSO logon not possible; browser logon ticket cannot be accepted"
    Please advise. Points guaranteed. Thanks!

    hi,
I also tried to do the same, but i think it's not possible.
I read somewhere that SAP recommends to use different instances of ABAP and Java. I installed seperate ABAP and Java instances on the same host and then configured SSO using the Configuration Wizard in NWA configuration. and it works perfectly.

  • TDE Wallets & Multiple Databases on same Host

The Oracle TDE Best Practices (doc ID 130696) states this:
Multiple databases on the same host
If there are multiple Oracle Databases installed on the same server, they
must access their own individual TDE wallet. Sharing the same wallet between independent instances is not supported
and can potentially lead to the loss of encrypted data.
If the databases share the same ORACLE_HOME, they also share the same
sqlnet.ora file in $TNS_ADMIN . In order to access their individual wallet, the
    DIRECTORY entry for the ENCRYPTION_WALLET_LOCATION
needs to point each database to its own wallet location:
    DIRECTORY= /etc/ORACLE/WALLETS/$ORACLE_UNQNAME
The names of the subdirectories under /etc/ORACLE/WALLETS/ reflect
the ORACLE_UNQNAME names of the individual databases.
If the databases do not share the same ORACLE_HOME, they will also have their individual sqlnet.ora
files that have to point to the individual subdirectories.
What is the correct sqlnet.ora syntax to do this?  I currently have what is below but it doesn't seem to be correct:
    ENCRYPTION_WALLET_LOCATION =
      (SOURCE = (METHOD = FILE)
      (METHOD_DATA =
      (DIRECTORY = /local/oracle/admin/wallet/DB#1)
      (DIRECTORY = /local/oracle/admin/wallet/DB#2)

    Hi,
You can check this :Setting ENCRYPTION_WALLET_LOCATION For Wallets Of Multiple Instances Sharing The Same Oracle Home (Doc ID 1504783.1)
i haven't done this for multiple database, but as per Doc you can use the syntex like
    ENCRYPTION_WALLET_LOCATION =
      (SOURCE = (METHOD = FILE)
      (METHOD_DATA =
      (DIRECTORY = /local/oracle/admin/wallet/$ORACLE_UNQNAME)
Whenever you set the Environmnet with
    export $ORACLE_UNQNAME=DB#1
it will choose the file from respective directory like  /local/oracle/admin/wallet/DB#1

  • Multiple IDM instances on same host

Can multiple Identity Manager app server instances be run on the same host, connecting to the same db? If so, how is this accomplished. From what I see Identity Manager instances attempt to register themselves using the host name. Is there a property in the properties file that can set a unique name?

It appears to be possible, at least in IDM 7.1
The release notes and Installation guide reference a setting called waveset.serverId that you set in your application server startup script like so:
    -Dwaveset.serverId=Name
This would allow each JVM to identify itself differently from any others running on the same physical server.
I haven't tried this yet myself, so caveat emptor.

  • Configuring SMTP Namespace Sharing between two Exchange Forests on the same LAN

Hi guys, really hoping that someone can help me with configuring SMTP Namespace Sharing between two Exchange Forests on the same LAN.
Basically, I have created a new forest and installed a new exchange organisation in this forest.  Both forests are located on the same IP subnet and a two way trust has been created between the forests.  Federated sharing has also been configured.
I can use ADMT to migrate the user and computer accounts to the new forest and also migrate test mailboxes over.  Ideally, I want to be able to do the mailbox migrations in stages so will need to be able to have mail flowing between the two forests.
I have read over the following article (http://ibrahimnore.wordpress.com/2012/09/06/configuring-smtp-namespace-sharing-between-two-exchange-forests-part-2/)
which is good but it's demonstrating over the internet, can anybody advise how this can be achieved on the local LAN?
    Any help greatly appreciated :-)

    Hi Gilliano,
Thanks for correct link. I must say this is a very good article indeed, I read the entire article and if you go to the 3rd part of this article, please note the text "DOMAINC.COM is configured as Internal Relay Accepted Domain on both the domains"
This is exactly what I asked you to check. Personally, I understand the method described in this article will work but its very complex to manage and administer, while the easiest option is to configure internal relay at the first place and no need to make
so many DNS changes and customizations to your environment.
The solution really depends on what your requirement is - Since you mentioned that you are migrating stuff over from source to destination - I feel this article is too complex for your situation and not really worth (for your requirement). The setup described
in the article is an excellent choice if you are planning to keep both forests alive for longer duration due to several reasons like compliance or company mergers and so on...
please let me know if my explanation is not clear enough.. we can even even have a one-on-one email conversation too!
    All the best!
Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. Regards, Siva

You do not change the dbname of the physical standby database. They always must have the same name as the primary.
Here is a snippet from my standby initialization file for a 9i installation. Notice the parameter LOCK_NAME_SPACE that was replaced in 10g with DB_UNIQUE_NAME

  • How to Create Primary DB and Physical/Logical Standby DB on the same host?

Now I encounter a issue. I want to create one Primary DB and one Physical standby DB and one Logical standby DB on the same host.
Create this env on the same host aims to test whether we can using EM Patching DP to apply patches on Primary/Physical/Logical DB successfully.
I try to setup this env but fails. I want to know more related issues about create Primary DB /Physical DB/Logical DB on the same host and how to configure between them.
    Below steps is my try:
    1. Create Primary DB on the /scratch/primary_db
    2. Create Physical Db software only on the /scratch/physical_db
    3. Create Logical Db software only on the /scratch/logical_db
    4. Using EM Wizard to create physical standby database and logical standby database, and these two targets can show up on the "All Targets" Page.
    5. But when using EM Patching DP, it fails and the reason is the listener of physical and logical db cannot configured well.
    Issues:
So I want to know about how to configure physical db and logical db's listener using EM or manually?
If the listener name of Primary Db is LISTENER and the port is 1521,and the listener.ora is under the /scratch/primary_db/network/admin directory, then how to config physical db and logical db's listener's name and port?

    Hi,
As this a test case then you need to create two more listener for each Oracle Home (/scratch/physical_db & /scratch/logical_db) make sure that they have different names and ports.
Then add the new listeners manually using GC?
Try it and let me know
    Regards
    Amin

  • 2 mta in the same host

    hi,
i'm trying to make some test with an antivirus. i have only one server i installed ims 5.2 (smtp at port 10026) with iDS 5.2 (port 389), and i installed another iMS in the same host but the smtp is at port 25, before i install the antivirus software i tried to make some test with the IMS.
both iMS share the Directory Server.
first i send an email at port 25 then the server send the message at port 10026 in the same sarver (i saw the logs and it did it) but in the instance that use the port 10026 only enqueue the mail, does anybody have any idea of what is going on!, maybe the things i'm testing are wrong. ....
When i run the ./msg-stop smtp in the instance that use the port 25 then the instance with the port 10026 delivery the enqued mail..

    thanks for your answer..
i read the documentation that you send,
but the documentation of the antivirus say that needs two mta to make a special configuration, the thing is the doc say that needs 3 servers:
    1 mta/IN (pto 25)
    1 server AV (100025)
    1 mta (pto 10026)
the thing is that i only have one server, and i'm trying to do the same configuration with my server..
The people that sell the Av software said that they can do the same configuration in one server but using like mta Postfix.
i'm tryin doing the same with IMS.

Thanks, Your help and guide will appreciated very much.

    Hello,
The directory for the creation of the logfiles does not exist, from the error:
RMAN-06136: ORACLE error from auxiliary database: ORA-00344: unable to re-create online log '/db/app/oracle/product/9.2.0.5/dbs/ /db
    /redolog.001/catalog1/catalog1_log1.rdo'
ORA-27040: skgfrcre: create error, unable to create file
HP-UX Error: 2: No such file or directoryI.e., there is no such directory as *'/db/app/oracle/product/9.2.0.5/dbs/ /db/redolog.001/catalog1/catalog1_log1.rdo'*
Your db_recovery_file_dest parameter may be set here, therefore change this:
    '/db/redolog.001/catalog1/catalog1_log1.rdo' size 5m,
    ' /db/redolog.003/catalog1/catalog1_log2.rdo' size 5m,
    ' /db/redolog.002/catalog1/catalog1_log3.rdo' size 5m;To this:
    'catalog1_log1.rdo' size 5m,
    'catalog1_log2.rdo' size 5m,
    'catalog1_log3.rdo' size 5m;And try again.
