Multi line hyperlink problem

Help please
I'm producing a magazine in ID with multiple hyperlinks - the links are often quite long and as a result they sometimes will wrap over two or more lines
The indicator box shows all is well in ID CS4 but when converted to pdf it is only the first line which translates to a hyperlink and thus it doesn't work.
All my single line links translate perfectly
Thanks for any assistance

Hyperlink´s long URL-address and visible part doesn´t have to be same. You can for instance place your long hyperlink to frase Click here etc.. Long hyperlink can be at background.

  • Multi line hyperlinks problem when exporting to PDF

I have a problem with hyperlinks i multiple lines when exporting a InCopy document to PDF. Its only the first line of the hyperlink that actually gets convertet to a link in the PDF file, the second line is just text.
Is this a known problem and is there a fix or a workaround?
We are using fully pached InCopy CS5 and Acrobat 9.

Is there are a real hyperlink there or are you counting on Acrobat to convert it for you?

  • Multi-line command problems

I am trying to add an motd banner to a configuration template in template center.  When I add it I get the following error on the import:
Template import Failed. Unable to parse the XML file. Please ensure that the XML file is complaint to the schema.
I went to the config manual and copied the multi-line command example exactly as shown and added it to my template:
    <MLTCMD> banner login "Welcome to
Cisco Prime LMS - you are using
    Multi-line commands" </MLTCMD>
I still get the import error.  I have never been able to get multi-line commands to work in any version of LMS.  Is this a known issue?  Is there a fix?
    -Jeff

The ability to import templates with multi-line support was not added until LMS 4.1.  You also have to use < and > instead of < and > as the MLTCMD tag is embedded into XML and not part of the XML itself.  Here's an example from the SCH template:

  • Printing multi-line field problem

In my form I have several fields that require the muli-line option. I set those fields accordingly. When printing I only see one line of text.
What do I have to change to make sure the printed form contains all of the lines?
I am using Acrobat8 for Windows.
    Thanks in advance,
    Karin

No, can't see them, i get some sort of scrollbar or I see the text size getting smaller..

  • SQL* Loader - Multi-line record problem

    Hi all,
I've been given a ver dirty source file. One that has records of more than 1 line. The only record terminator that is available is that the first columns should always be in number in 7 digits (0000000-9999999). Is it possible to create a control file that checks if the current record is actually a new record or if it is just a continuation of the previous record?
I've been checking on some parameters like the CONTINUEIF and the "str terminator_string".
I tried both but neither fully satisfies the requirements.
I tried using CONTINUEIF by adding CONTINUEIF THIS (1) = '0' to check if it only creates records that has a column value starting with '0'. Unfortunately it still adds those that doesn't start with '0'.
Also tried the INFILE 'mydata.dat' "str '\r\n0'". This works for those who starts with 0 only but unfortunately it trims out the first zero (0) from that column.
Can someone suggest any other approach?
    Thanks.
    Allen

    hi,
thanks for the suggestion. i did try it. it works ok but i also found a way to use sql loader since this is better performance wise. i used
    CONTINUEIF NEXT PRESERVE (8) <> X'09'.
basically, what this does is check if the character on the 8th position is a tab. if it is, then it's a new line. i used this since the first column in my text file uses a 7 digit number. it's not perfect but loads fast. although i'm still looking for some other ways and means.
    thanks again.

  • Multi line field Navigation problem with ENTER key

No trigger on the field. Multi line Property is set to true.
The probleb is, when the cursor reaches in the multi line field. the contents of the field are hilighted/selected. So as it happens in Notepad or Word, if you select some already written text and press ENTER key the selected text will be replaced by carriage return so the selected data will be lost. Same is the case with multi line field. When field gets focus it selects the contents of field and when ENTER is pressed all the contents are deleted and a carriage return is placed.
    any solution?
    null

    Hi Nadeem,
One work around is that you have store content of that multi-line field in to some other variable thru PRE-TEXT-ITEM and once again assign (based on some conditon) in POST-TEXT-ITEM.

  • Address Book: Importing Multi-Line Fields

A common and often unavoidable import format for Mac Address Book is Comma Separated Value files (.csv). Address Book cannot import CSV files that have multi-line fields, such as might be included in Notes, because it cannot tolerate embedded newline characters (a.k.a., carriage returns, line breaks). (See http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=AddressBook/4.0/en/ad808.html. The CSV spec (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comma-separated_values) addresses this need by requiring that fields which contain newlines be enclosed in quotes, but Address Book doesn't adhere to this part of the standard.)
Here's a way to import CSV files and have multi-line fields preserved:
Using an editor, replace +every embedded+ newline character in the CSV file with "\n". Take care to not alter the newline characters that end each record. Import the resulting file into Address Book using the CSV option. Selecting the 'Last Import' group, export those specific records using the vCard option. Then delete those records. Then import the vCards previously exported. Presto!
Apparently, although Address Book is blind to "\n" when importing CSV files, and exporting vCard fields, it interprets this character sequence as newline when importing vCards.

    Hi Adam,
Thanks, but the problem is not importing to AddressBook, it is exporting.  I did discover from another that I can export very easily to a Numbers spreedsheet.  It is exceptionally simple.  But it will not export custom fields.  Someone said that is because of a vcard standard.  My custom fields are just "name" fields that I have labeled differently.  But Numbers does not support the name (it only takes the name of the card).

  • How to create a dynamic multi-line function in SQL Server

    >> Unfortunately I really need to form a dynamic query in a table valued function on the SQL SERVER. I have another tabled valued function that needs something returned as a table in order to further join the data. I am not allowed to use Stored
    Procedures in that function. <<
You do know that real SQL programmers hate the proprietary nightmare of tabled valued functions?  This is how you procedural programmers avoid learning set-oriented declarative and functional programming.
Your mindset wants to write to a scratch tape or disk file (aka “tabled valued function result table”) just like you did BASIC, FORTRAN or COBOL. QL programmers do not have to materialize their data. We can use VIEW or a drive table as well as a base table.
    >> Plus, there are occasions where I don't want to pass in a field [sic: columns are not fields] parameter or need to change a parameter list such that I don't wish the table function to filter by a particular field [sic] or other setting. <<
What you want is a magical “Automobiles, Squids and Lady Gaga” function. An SQL programmer might write a complex VIEW then do simpler SELECTs off it.
    >> My application pushes the WHERE clause from EXCEL to SQL to do the hard work as EXCEL is not the application in which I want to process the SQL statement and pass it via ODBC. I cannot run macros in Excel on the web.<<
This is a crazy language system. Usually we fetch data in SQL and then pass it to a math package, report writer, etc. We never keep logic (aka WHERE clauses) outside the database.
    >> I am bummed about the fact that this feature doesn't work. It will up my server management costs to maintain unique tabular based functions based on WHERE clause query <<
So stop writing those “tabular based functions”, change your mindset and start learning SQL and do it right.

  • How do I center a text field when input can be single or multi-line?

I'm creating a form in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and have almost everything the way I want it.  One of my last problems is trying to get a text in a text field centered.  The input is sometimes a single line and sometimes multi-line.  If I set it up so the multi-line entries are centered, then the single line looks off ... and vice versa.  Is there any way to have the text automatically centered in the text field regardless of whether it's single or multi-line?

Unfortunately, there's no way to set up a field so that the text is guaranteed to be vertically centered in both cases. If you set it up so that rich text formatting is enabled, it's possible for a user to vertically center, but it's not something you can preconfigure so that it will remain in effect when the field is cleared. For a user to do this, with the focus set to the field they'd have to display the Properties toolbar (Ctrl+E), click the "More..." > Paragraph > Alignment > Text Middle [button]

  • How to add multi-line text in comments field of song tags in iTunes 12?

Recently upgraded to iTunes 12 and can no longer enter multi-line text in the comments field of a song tag.  Used to use option+return (alt+enter) to go to a new line (carriage return).  Can it still be done?  Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

See my other post for the solution to this problem.

  • Multi-Line Display Item

I need to populate a multi-line display item in Forms 6i.
The problem that I am having is the actual assignment to the display item.
    For example:
    :DISPLAY_ITEM := '10';
    :DISPLAY_ITEM := '11';
This makes the display item show the value '11' only.
I need '10' on the first line and '11' on the second line, etc.
    Thanks in advance,
    Patrick

    well, you can write:
    go_block('BL_BLK');
    first_record;
    :display_item:=10;
    next_record;
    :display_item:=11;
but for this- 1. block should have one navigable item. 2. display_item should not be the first item of the block.
Otherwise you will need to create a non-databse text_item with width 0 on the canvas for that block.
    Hope this helps.

  • Enter Text in Multi Line TextBox and New Lines

    Hi Guys,
I have a form that takes a users input and saves to an access
    database.
The data is in turn drawn by a recordset and displayed on an
    ASP page using VBS.
The form that takes the info has 1 textbox thats multi line
and I want it to be a simple input box except when the user adds a
line break by hitting return I want this to be reflected when the
record is drawn to the detais page..
Just now no matter how many times I hit return key when
typing in the multi line text box and add paragraphs or simple
sentances they all come out with no line breaks on the page when
    shown???
Do I have to make my own rich text box editor? or is there
    something Im missing?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

InterAKT was acquired by Adobe in September and most of its
    products
were discontinued. The full version of KTML is now part of
    the
    Kollection suite.
The solution to your problem is very simple, though. I'm
    sorry I can't
give you the exact coding, because I haven't used ASP for
    many years.
However, all that you need to do is to create a function that
    searches a
string for new line characters and replaces them with
    <br> (or <br />
    for XHTML).
PHP has a built-in function (nl2br()) to do this, but in ASP
    you need to
search for the new line character code.

  • How do I create a multi-line text box?

I have a PDF that was tradionally printed and filled out by hand, and am trying to convert to an e-version.
Everything is working great but I can't figure out how to make this one thing work. For example I have a section like this:
    More Info: _______________
How can I make it so when one starts typing in the "More Info" section, their response continues from the 1st line to the 2nd, to the 3rd, etc.?

You can set a text field to be multi-line and tick off the option to scroll
long text to have it automatically wrap, but you'll have a problem with the
first partial line, since form fields can only be rectangular. Another
problem might be the lines themselves, since you'll have to use a font size
that will fit them exactly, or it will look odd. I would suggest getting
rid of those lines altogether. They are not needed when filling in the form
electronically. It's a relic from printed out forms where people had to
    hand-write their answers.

  • How to Process a Multi-Line Form

    Hi:
I've created a pl/sql portlet that displays a multi-line html form. The desired functionality is: user enters data into one or more lines, clicks a button, and all lines get inserted. Currently, to perform the insert I have a Javascript function that cycles through each line of the html form then uses the window.open function to call a url (that is a pl/sql procedure). The window is opened once for each inserted record.
Does anyone know of a better way of doing this? I'd like to run the procedure without opening a window, but I don't know how.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

    hi Christ,
let me understand what you are trying to do first. it appears to me that you may be trying to do one of the following two things:
    1. you may have more than one field and the user may enter one or all of those fields. and then press the submit button to enter/ insert the data in some table.
    2. or you have more just one field with a data value which is large enough to span over several lines. in that case you have one field with larger data value. and when a user enters a value for such a field and press submit then you want it to be entered into the table.
    a. in any case, it would be much simpler if you develop a portal form based on procedure. there you will need to create just a regular form based on a procedure in which you should put just insert statement for the data to be entered into that certain table.
    b. you can still do it with you customized form where you may create a form from an embedded html in the pl/sql. if you really wanna do it then there is a simple way to do that too but not simpler than the portal form technique.
now this is all if i understood your little description correctly. let me know if your problem is different. please be specific in your description, if you choose so.
