I have a LDAP server that want to sync entries to an AD. Can I config the a multi-master for the LDAP ?

Hi, the current Meta-Directory product looks at just one changelog (the RetroChangeLog for Sun ONE Directory v5.x) and as such true and full Multi-Master support with Meta is not possible at this time. However, the engineering team are in the process of documenting what cohabitation is possible when Meta is used against just one of the two Directory masters. This white paper will be available in a few weeks time, if you email me or contact your Sun ONE account manager this information will be provided to you.

Multi-master Replication and Metadirectory 5.0

The Metadirectory 5.0 documentation states that it cannot work with a directory server configured for multi-master replication. We need to use Metadirectory since we are integrating the Directory Server with other systems. Does this mean that we'll be forced away from MMR configuration? What are some of the alternatives? Does iPlanet have any plans for supporting MMR in future versions of Metadirectory?

I think you can enable the retro changelog on a consumer replica. I'm pretty sure that works.
You might be able to enable it on a hub. You also might get it to work on a master, but the changelog on the master will contain some replication housekeeping changes that may confuse Meta Directory. I'm not sure what they are but they are obvious if you look at the changelog. If you can figure out some way to screen those changes out from Meta Directory, you might be able to use it.

Multi-master access from separate DSCC views

Hi,
I have two DS6.2 installations - one in test, one in production. They are both multi-master (two masters) environments.
In test I can run DSCC on both masters, and can manage both from each DSCC.
However, in production I can only access both masters from one DSCC at a time. If I enable access on the second DSCC, then the first DSCC shows them in red as Inaccessible until I "Enable Access" which works ok, but then the second DSCC shows them as inaccessible.
I have been over the configs, and they appear the same in test & production.
Does anyone know what could be stopping the production instances from being managed by more than one DSCC?

Replicating the ADS instance, ie cn=dscc is not supported and not supposed to work so what you are trying to do is futile.

Multi-master V/S floating master

any one having any experience with either multi-master
or floating-master design of iplanet ldap servers which is more reliable ?
how many ldap server i can configure to be in the multi master mode ?
what are the performance issues which need to be taken care of while configuring ldap in multimaster or floati ng master mode ?

If the update rate is high, you will probably want to tune your server for optimal write performance, and try to avoid them handling search requests directly. Instead, set up one or more hubs or dedicated consumers to handle the search request load.

When will Multi-Master over WAN being supported ?
Will it be in 5.2, and when will this release

Yes...it'll be in 5.2 which is scheduled for the end of the calendar year (around December...).
A beta version will probably be available sooner (may be just to selected customers though).

Multi language support in SAP XI

Hi mates,
Is multi language UI supported in XI? Does SAP WAS Java has mutli language support i.e. can IR, ID, RWB, VA etc be viewed/edited in other languages like Spanish, French etc?
Since SAP XI is based on SAP Basis 6.40, I guess ABAP part of XI has mutli language support. Correct me, if I'm wrong.
Any special components need to be installed for this multi lang support purpose in SAP WAS ABAP & Java?

I looked at the NW master guide, but could not find any hints regarding this.

Procedure to create Multi Master Replication

Hi,
can anybody help on this. How to do Multi Master replication from scarch . I used to do single master . this is the first time iam trying to do Multi-Master Replication . I am looking for doc, iam unable to find . Is ther anybody can tell how to do Multi-Master little in detail. I installed my Software and i loaded my company schema and the data on one server. I have another server ready to install software and load data.

with regards to the post "RTFM"..
in my experience the sunone/iplanet manuals are very badly written and in some cases just plain wrong..
sure start with reading the manuals, then make sure you also read the release notes and then you can still be confused in some cases....
the section on mmr in the manual has a number of mistakes last time i looked..
one reason why i think community sites, and generally available "support" are such prime requisites in choosing software...

Missing Master Site in Multi Master Environment

Hello,
we are using MM-Replication on three Master sites with two replication groups.
Replication support was installed and configured by the application vendor.
I do not have experience with Multi Master Replication.
The data of the RG (Readonlymastergroup) was never replicated to one Master
(DEFS01). When I queried dba_repgroup on the failing site, I found the
RG status to be quiesced. There were no pending administrative requests
on this site or the Master Definition site, but I found that there is no definition
of the failing site's membership to the RG on the MD site.

Can anybody explain how this could happen? AFAIK adding a master to a resource
group is a distributed transaction that should be rolled back on all sites, if it fails
on one.
To correct this situation; I am thinking of removing the RG from DEFS01
with DBMS_REPCAT.DROP_MASTER_REPGROUP (on DEFS01) and then rejoin DEFS01
with DBMS_REPCAT.DROP_MASTER_REPGROUP on the Master
Definition Site.
Will this work? Anything else I have to think off?

I have tried the Multi language scenario. You need to have following setup in your system, they are:-
>Install language pack
>You need to upload content using below CSV fles:-
multistring.csv
Material.csv
Plant CSV
Product_Plant_Relationship_template.csv
If you can share your email id I will email you sample CSV file which you can use. Or else pl follow below steps to download CSV file from system:-
Click Setup
Click System Administration tab
Click to Import data
Click to New button
select radio button Upload to Server and click next
Select any dummy excel file from local server while browsing for Upload Import file option and click next.
Select Preview import check box adn search MultiString from the drop down object type and click next
In the page you will see the template.csv link, click and save the file. This the file you are looking for.
Create the content and upload the file...hope this will help you!!!
There is another way of importing master data is multiple langaure. In this scenario master data source would be ECC. You need to run SAP provided standard report to export the details. This XML file you can import into sourcing system. Pl find below blog link for more detail:-

Problem with Multi Master Replication

Hello All,
I've setup a multi-master replication with no consumers. i.e i'm having 2 suppliers which should update each other. The setup seems to be fine since the initialization of one supplier by other works very fine. But i couldn't get the synchronization btwn the suppliers get worked. I noticed in the error log that the syn-scan request arrived, but ignored. What are the possibilities of this error ?
Please help me with this regard.

Rich, you have been a support to most of us in the group(indeed much to my help)...Its splendid work....
My problems disappeared after applying the Service pack ....the service pack in fact is mainly to sort out the replication issues.
Advice from my experience - The patch may be more than enough for most of the replication issues.
One observation - i had the replica busy error, but i didn't have to restart the replica as suggested by some of the previous threads. Seems the service pack did some fix for it.

Basic Multi Master Replication doesn't work!

I am studying Oracle replication and I tried to apply multi master replication MMR between two databases: WinXp12 (master definition) and WinXp11. 
After successfully doing all the steps in the code below to replicate table SCOTT.DEPT, I inserted a row in the table in WinXp12. But I didn't see the inserted row in the remote site WinXp11. 
Where wrong was I? Anything missed? 
By the way, deferror table contains no row and DBA_JOBS has no failures.

DSCC multi-master replication issue

I am trying to setup 2 DSCC consoles with multi-master replication enabled(cn=dscc), facing issue when I see directory server list in both dscc consoles, I see below 2 dscc instances also which should not be there(since they are ADS, should be hidden). Also the changes does not reflect immediately, takes around 30 minutes or so.
Please note I am running 2 ADS instances on one box with port no 3998 and 4000 both are master. Seek your guidance on how to fix this issue.

Multi master replication

I have implemented multi master replication only for dmls between 8i and 10g database
whenever i try to generate the replication support after putting the object in replication group i get the error as
ora-23416 primary key constraint doesnot exisrt
I would like to know that whether is it necessary that the every table should have primary key constraint mandatorily before generating the replication support ?
Also please say me whether i can replicate the dmls executing on the master definition site to master destination site in multi master replication
If you have any specific document please provide me that to have better understanding of multi master replication

IPad needs multi user support NOW

I believe Apple will sell more iPad if they enable multi user support for these devices.
Since it's currently a single user device tied to your iTune and MobileMe/Exchange, it's not something you could share between family. I thought buying an extra iPad for the wife would solve the problem, but I was wrong. Now we have two iPads, it's still not working out very well. We'd leave them in different places of the house, and we'd still grab the nearest iPad regardless who it belongs to.
Had Apple made the iPad multi user, I would more likely to buy one or two more. One for the kitchen, one for the living room, one for the family room and one for the master bathroom. That would make life so much easier as I don't have to take my iPad with me. I could pick one up wherever I am.
Now without multi user support, I'd have to buy a total of 8 iPads and my house would look ridicules with two ipads in each room. Suppose if I have a few teenage kids in the house, I'd have to buy 16 or 20 iPads. That's just mad!
So instead, I wait. For now I'll just have to cope with 2 iPads, one of which configured for the wife. 50% of the time, I use an iPad with my wife's emails, music and books on it.

It seems so far that Apple has had absolutely no problem selling iPads at this point.

Problem in creation of Multi-master

I created master group in replication.
I have decided to use multi-master replication and because of that I add another site to my first master site.But when I do that in OEM ,I encunter to a problem
called that invalid compatible version ....
My Oracle Version is 9.2 and compatible parameter in my oracle is 9.2.0.0.0
It is kind of everybody to help me.

its due to the number ranges that is specified in the partner determination ... chech what is the number range assigned in the parner determination ,,, so once u check that u have to manually enter the number between that range only .. this should solve ur problem...
path to check the number range is as below :
spro-img-logistic generalbusiness partner-customers---define account groups and field selection ---
at this point click position button at the bottom and give ur account group .. select ur account group and click detail button .. now inside that u can see the specified number range .. dafault is 08 ( means u can specify between 400000 to 499999)..
and some times u may not have defined number range... check urs and create accordingly ... this should solve ur problem...
