Multi-page .tif file attaches as  .jpg (1 page)

I've just changed from Entourage to Mail. I have multipage .tif files downloaded from Companies House. When I try to mail them as attachments Mail changes them to .jpg files which only have the first page of course. I can see that on the open email so it is not a Mac to Windows recipient problem.
When I resave as .pdf there is problem but that's unsatisfactory. Other files eg Word and Excel seem fine.
The solutions I've seen here seem to be the for the reverse problem.

Save aas tif file.

    Different answers depending on your project & workflow.
    I like to keep all my sitewide styles in an external css file.
    Page specific <styles> can be embedded into the document's <head> tags.
    And for line specific styles (mostly used for HTML emails), inline styles can be added to the markup.
         <p style="color:red">example of a paragraph with inline style</p>
    Now, let's say you're building different layouts for different devices.  In that case, you really must keep all related styles in their respective external CSS files.
    print.css
    mobile.css
    tablet.css
    desktop.css
    There's no one size fits all here.  Use whichever method works best for you & your project.

  • How to combine two pages (not files) into one long vertical page

    Is there a way in Acrobat 9 Pro to combine (concatenate) say two 8.5"x11" pages and create a single 8.5"x22" page?
    Right now I'm having to do this by importing one page into Photoshop, extending the canvas, and pasting in the second page into the extended canvas space.  Very kludgy. While this works, saving the resulting PDF (even after removing the option to preserve editability in Photoshop) still results in a file which is a whopping 2.5MB in size as compared with around 25KB for the original PDF file which was spanning 2 pages.
    Ultimately what I'm trying to do is to be able to view a long document which was created in MS Word 2007 and then saved as a PDF, in a web browser by scrolling, without having page breaks.  Trying to increase the page dimensions is MS Word 2007 prior to creating the PDF worked to a point but Word 2007's maximum page length is 22 inches and as luck would have it, the document requires about 23 inches in length.
    I've tried using the custom page setting under the crop tool in Acrobat 9 but I can't seem to get the modified page dimensions to be accepted.  Acrobat 9 seems to accept the input and then nothing changes with the page's dimensions.

    A simple way to accomplish the job, though not recommended is to print the 2 page file to a new PDF with multi-up (assuming you select vertical rather than horizontal locations) and adjust the paper in the Adobe PDF printer to be 8.5X22. At least you might give it a shot. Some variation, along with rotation possibly, might work.

  • Turn a multiple page pdf file in to a one page scrollable file.

    I have a 16 page PDF file that I want to appear as one long horizontal banner, is there a way to "merge" the pages in adobe acrobat?
    Basically the opposite of tiling as far as I can tell...
    Thanks!

    You can try print to Adobe PDF. In the print dialog change the pages per sheet.

  • Preview only shows first page of TIF files

    Hello,
    I am having problems with Preview version 3.0.9 (409). When opening a multi-page TIF file, only the first page is displayed. The "page down" button does allow to jump to the following pages. (I am able to view the whole document with other programs). Is this a bug in the program or am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks!

    HI Fidelio,
    I'm not sure if this is a corrupted Preview preference file or not but it can't hurt a thing to try.
    Locate this file: com.apple.preview.plist It's here: /Home/Library/Preferences. Open the Preferences folder, locate that file and drag it to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot. Your Mac will create a new pref file for you.

  • Importing multi page InDesign Files

    Please forgive the basic question but I am still having problems with this... If I import an article from one InDesign file with 3 pages in it only the first page will show up in the content viewer. I understand folios can have multiple articles but can an imported article have multiple pages and is there a trick to seeing them in the content viewer? As a test I set up a 3 page InDesign file with type that says page 1, page 2 and page 3 on each respective page. Only page 1 is visible. Does every page of an InDesign file need to be imported seperately? I have watched all the Lynda.com tutorials on DPS and none of them address multipage InDesign files that I am aware of. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

    I apologize, I was using the content viewer on my desktop, not my tablet and the scroll bar would only show the first page, I guess it does not go through all of the pages. I did watch your course all the way through and learned a great deal from it, I will go back and find the multi page example and review. Thank you for your help.

  • Tif files not opening via Acrobat Javascript openDoc() method

    Hi,
    I am trying to open a .tif file via Acrobat Javascript using the following code snippet which I have in config.js file in Acrobat Javascripts folder:
    trustedOpenDoc = app.trustedFunction( function (File)
    app.beginPriv();
      var doc = app.openDoc({
          cPath: File,
          bUseConv: true
    app.endPriv();
    return doc;
    Problem is that openDoc opens up all other images but it has problem with multi page tif files, I mean it does not open some tif files. I have directly tried to open files in Acrobat professional 8/9 from File --> Open but got same result.
    The same happens also with some heavy (above 1 MB) .bmp files but with .bmp files this behaviour is not so frequent, on the other hand .tif files always give the same result.
    Any PDF Gladiator who can save my project deadline!
    Look please; I have this problem for the last 12 days and miserably my project is getting late becoz of this.
    Thanks in advance for the resolution/suggestion.

    You guys are not getting my point.
    I am using Adobe Acrobat Professional 8/9 for creating a PDF that picks up text files and image (Jpg, bmp, tif) files from a network shared folder and inserts them into an empty Template PDF file by making use of Acrobat events through Javascript.
    This all works fine as long I dont include any Tif file and PDF is created successfully.
    Now all other file types including text files, jpgs, gif are opening up but problem is with .tif files.
    You can check this by directly opening image files in Adobe Acrobat Profesional 8/9 from File --> Open menu option.
    Other images will open up but most Tif files won't open in it. Such tif files also not open in "Winodws Picture and Fax Viewer" software but will open in softwares like "Imaging Professional" , "IrfanView" etc, which I think use some special codec for it.
    If you know of any Acrobat plugin that can be incorporated in Acrobat professional and convert these tif files to PDF on the fly, would be of great help or have some any other suggestion you feel is right.
    Thanks

  • Converting Tif file to GIF or JPEG

    Could you provide me with an example to convert a TIF file to GIF or JPEG with the JIMI or tell me of a good link where I can learn how to do this?. I downloaded the JIMI library but I cannot find documentation or a clear example to carry out this conversion.

    Do you know how the JIMI converts multi-paged TIF files into several JPEG or GIG files? The Jimireader could read only the first page of a TIF file. But I could not get the other pages of the TIF file. The code that I wrote to extract the first page was:
    try {
    JimiReader reader= Jimi.createJimiReader"C:/MRFleSto/4.tif");
    i = reader.getNumberOfImages();
    java.awt.Image img = reader.getImage();
    .... more code to put the image in a call to convert it
    reader.close();
    } catch(Exception e){}
    It turns out that i (the number of images) returns -1; never the total number of pages in the file. Also the getNextImage method of the JimiReader is "protected" (that is, removed from the class) and cannot be used.

  • Batch printing TIF files

    I have been about 9 TIF files which include 502 pages among those files. I am trying to print these as a batch rather than page by page. Can Photoshop Elements 8 do that?  I'm using Windows 7 as the O/S.  Any help in figuring out how to make this happen will be greatly appreciated.

    You could try to download the free Efax Messenger from  https://www2.efax.com/ens/efax/twa/page/download .
    This will let you open multi page tif  (aka *.tiff)  files,  plus you can print them, and convert them to *.pdf or *.efx.
    It is fairly easy, since even a fuddyduddy like myself can use and understand that program.
    Also, several old Scanners from EPSON, such as EPSON Perfection V300, come with software that lets you scan into a multi-page *.tif format.
    According to my very own opinion, which may be wrong, mean, stupid, or illegal,  it seems that software companies such as Microsoft, Adobe, etc.. have been trying to almost "outlaw TIFF format",
    because it    A)  is FREE, so they can't charge you for it    and   B)  IT WORKS  and is pretty much universally compatible.
    Another option is the free GIMP program, which will open multi page TIF files.   It's a bit less intuitive to use.    When opening a multi page TIF file, select ALL and open as IMAGES (not as layers).
    Good luck!

  • Unable to view Multi-page Tif G4 Compressed files

    Is any one aware of a product(free would be best); that will permit Mac (various operating system versions) desktops to view Tif image files?
    Tif file format we are using, the viewer must be able to view:
    G4 compression;
    Multi-page tif,
    Interestingly enough the Ipad's are able to view our compressed files without additional software, but the Preview application that comes on Mac's we have in house and employee's who have Mac's at home that tryingto use for work are not able to view our highly compressed images.
    We have software for our PC systems that permit the viewing/editing of our images without problems. Unfortunately, the software is not compatible with Mac's.
    No, their is no option to convert out TiF to a different compression, with our high volumn of scanning we need the high compression for our scanning of documents as is.
    The only work around we have is for staff that are using Mac's in order for them to view documents at home, internal staff must take the time to convert the files to PDF format.

    It's an HP P3005dn (duplex+network) printer. OS X simply recognized the printer on the network and set itself up accordingly (without the option of selecting PCL or Postscript). The Windows computers in the office, though, - ugh - it was ugly getting them set up. None of them would recognize the printer on the network, and couldn't even browse for it and find it. I wound up having to download Bonjour for windows, and set it up that way. I downloaded the drivers from HP.com, and believe I set them all up to print using PCL.
    It sounds like PCL v. PostScript may be the issue; is it possible to print using PCL on Macs?

  • How to convert a multi page PDF document into a single TIF file?

    Hi!
    We are trying to convert a multi page PDF document into a single TIF file. We are using Adobe Acrobat Standard v 9. Can it be possible?

    I am also looking for feedback.  Although having a PDF copy of a document is wonderful, long term and efficient archival for my workplace is tif or tiff.
    Very frustrating that the PDF to tiff creates a separate tiff file for each page of the multi-page PDF document.  Are there any options or work-arounds?

  • Preview 3.0.7 Unable to View Multi-page TIFF Files

    I currently use fax-to-email service from j2 to receive my faxes; the faxes arrive in TIFF (.tif) format, and opened by Preview to view/print. After updating to OS X 10.4.7, the new version of Preview (3.0.7) broke the multi-page TIFF support again. Only the first page could be viewed, so I am forced to use Graphic Converter in the meantime, but really very inconvenient. This is the second time Preview is broken after Tiger update, Apple should really test it more thoroughly before releasing it as a lot of people depend on fax-to-email services for work purposes these days.

    I am getting faxes emailed from microsoft fax server and although the attachment clearly has all pages in the tiff file (I can save the file, then view it from an external windows based viewer), I can only see the first page in preview.
    I am using OS X 10.4.7 on a macbook with preview 3.0.7.
    Even within the sidebar window by clicking on the drawer icon, I do not see multiple pages. I see a single page with a little grey circle with the number of pages in it in the lower right hand corner of the page image in the sidebar indicating the proper number of pages, but there is no way to change pages.
    macbook Mac OS X (10.4.7)
    edit:
    Never mind I didn't read the previous message closely enough. It works for me after all. I am new to the OS X interface and didn't notice the tiny little triangle pointer beside the page in the sidebar.
    If you click it to "expand" the contents of the page it does in fact show me all my fax pages.
    I agree with Fred that this is in no way intuitive and I never would have guessed on my own.
    In any case problem solved. Thank you.

  • In Mavericks Mail, how do you attach a PDF (single-page or multi-page) without the PDF being embedded in the message?

    In Mavericks Mail, how do you attach a PDF (single-page or multi-page) without the PDF being embedded in the message?

    I attached a .doc file to the message and it appeared as an icon, so I did not have to convert it. I attached a .jpg image — it appeared as a full image, but when I Command+clicked the image, the view as icon window did not appear on the screen. Likewise, I again checked the Mail Menu Bar, and did see 'View as icon.' Side note: I routinely use Mavericks Mail in Classic Mode, so I decided to try both modes. Same results in both modes. I checked my Mail Preferences, but couldn't find anything there, either. I'll continue to look around, but this has me stumped. Thanks for your assistance.

  • How do you open a multi page tif be opened in Photoshop?

    I have an embedded tif with a render, shadow layers and other channels in one tif. (Not created in Photoshop)
    I thought it was multilayered tif, but I think it's called a multi page tif.
    When I open it in Photoshop it opens the top layer/page, and none of the others. (It doesn't give the option to choose a page/layer either).
    How can you open the tif in Photoshop and still access all the layers?
    I thought it would be like opening a normal tif created in Photoshop...

    Nope. Render it again to separate files or split it in another program.
