Multi site, multi vlan configuration question

Hi Brian,Good questions. If the router connects to the switch on a VLAN 1 access port then it is a non-issue since the packets are not tagged. If there is a trunk between the router and the switch with tagged traffic, then I would recommend using inside and outside VLANs on the switch. Essentially this is just two VLANs, one for each Wanos interface so that it sits in the middle of the traffic flow. For example the gateway would say be in a VLAN 100 sub-interface on the router. Wanos wan0 would be in VLAN 100 and the lan0 interface remain in VLAN 1 along with the devices. The only way to the gateway is through the bridge. The bridge deployment is almost always the simplest way to get going, but where it is not possible, router mode is also available.Express will be ok for one remote location and if either direction across the WAN is...

Ok, I'm getting ready to setup Wanos for a test run at one of our remote locations. I'm seeing packet loss on the circuit to this specific site and I want to test the packet loss recovery capability of Wanos. Our network topology is point to multipoint with MPLS connections between our main location and each of our 7 remote offices. So at our main location if I read correctly I would have to add a bypass rule for all the other offices that do not have a Wan optimization device.I have to preface my question with this... we have VLAN tagging going on at the remote locations for data and voice. The switch is ultimately responsible for the tagging of the packets. The IP phones and computers are both on completely different networks. The devices are assigned their IP's from the router through DHCP with the data VLAN 1 as the default. The...

  • AP-grouping and SIte-Specific Vlan's question

    Hi Friends,
I was wondering if Site-specific Vlan's can be implemented on Guest-vlans where SSId's are anchored to Anchor-controllers from main controllers.
    I will appreciate any inputs.
    Thanks
    JAy

Unfortunately I don't believe this can be done. I've run in to this question before at least one other time.
Basically, AP Groups (inteface assignment) only work for the clients local to that controller. Once you hit an "anchored wlan" you are not using the interface assigned by the AP group.
As an anchored client, you are not seen as connected from a particular AP, but instead are see as a client from the foreign controller.
Your only option would be to create multiple SSIDs and map each SSID on the anchor controller to the required vlan. You could use AP groups (wlan override) to specify which guest ssid you want on a particular AP, but I think thats your only option
Perhaps if you were anchoring a client doing 802.1x, you could pass interface/vlan parameters that way, but it wouldn't work for a typical "webauth guest user"

  • SA540 VLAN Configuration Question

I need to connect 2 internal LANs to the SA540 but cannot work out how to set the IP addresses for the 2 VLANs on this device.  Does anyone know how to setup the relevant IP addresses for the 2 VLANs? Example: VLAN 2 IP = 192.168.5.10 and the second VLAN IP = 192.168.10.10The WAN port will connect to a single Internet device.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Ratan,
The following steps apply to latest MR Firmware version 2.1.18.
    1) The first thing you need is to enable VLAN (Networking ->LAN -> VLAN Configuration -> Enable VLAN? {check this}).
    2) Next you have to create the second VLAN (Networking ->LAN ->Available VLANs ->Add...)  Name it and use the ID to associate the VLAN to (2).  If you want inter VLAN Routing to be enabled leave the box checked, otherwise uncheck it.
    3) Next we specify/edit the subnet that your new vlan will use.  (Networking ->LAN -> Multiple VLAN Subnets)  Look for the VLAN ID created above (2), and Click the Edit button.  Modify the subnet parameters as needed.
    4) Finally we assign the SA 500 ports to use the VLANS.  (Networking ->LAN ->Port VLAN)  Setup the port's Mode as Access, General, or Trunk, and assign VLAN membership as well.
See screenshots for clarity.  If you need to create more VLANs, repeat steps 2-4 as needed.
    Hope this helps,
    Julio

  • SPA2102 Multi-CHannel configuration question

I was hoping that someone would know the answer
to this question.  Is it possible to set up a SPA2102 with one did on port 1, and have
have an additional channel on port 2 that calls can roll to if port 1 is busy?  I have some clients that are
small office home office and only need 2 lines, this is the most inexpensive way to accomplish this.
I appreciate any and all help!
    Jim

    Jim,
Of course it should be possible but the implementation may depend on your particular setup. You can use call_forward_on_busy feature either within the spa or the softswitch if it is under your control.
    Hope this helps.

  • T430s - cannot get supported multi-monitor configuration to work

    Hi all,
I just purchased a new T430s and, overall, I've been very happy with it.  However, I'm having trouble getting a particular multi-monitor configuration to work.  Very simply, I am trying to get the very first configuration as is described on this page...
    http://lnv.gy/15YWJnf
It is simply a 3-monitor setup where one monitor is external and hooked up via VGA, another monitor is external and hooked up via DisplayPort, and the third monitor is the actual laptop monitor.  I simply cannot get this to work!  I can plug in a single external monitor, but when I try and plug in a second, it always disables my laptop monitor, so I end up with only a 2-monitor setup.  Can anyone please help?
*Also, I should note, I've called Lenovo Support 3 times after encountering this problem, and, suffice it to say, it was an EXTREMELY frustrating and discouraiging experience.  All in all, I spent over 2 hours on the phone and each time, they essentially REFUSED to help me!  They kept citing that it was a "configuration" issue and that it's not their problem, and then they'd forward me to another department which would then forward me right back to them.  At one point, one rep said that I was essentially "**bleep** out of luck".  Furthermore, when I was getting frustrated with the lack of help, I asked a rep to escalate the issue and allow me to talk to a manager.  He said that he COULDN'T DO IT because the system wouldn't allow it, again, citing that it's a configuration issue and not their responsibility!  Does anyone from Lenovo ever read these forums?  Will someone PLEASE take ownership of this issue and help me out?  I'm not asking for much!  I just want to get a setup that you guys say is supported!
Sorry for the rant, but my interactions with Lenovo support have really been frustrating.  Anyways, any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

    whoischarles,
Welcome to the forum!  Thanks for the question and  tweet about this thread.  Thanks Lead_Org for getting us started... I know you have tried out a number of multiple display configs, so you may have some follow up suggestions....
    As far as I know...
The T430s supports external displays a little differently than the T420s did, and differently than the T430 and T530 do.  There are a number of different discussions on T430s multiple display configs in the forum - you might search a few and just browse them to see the combinations others have tried and their experiences.  Here is one example.  Here is another more recent.
    Here is another more recent.
Here is an official tip with specific configs that Lenovo supports for the T430s.
From our official tip, it appears that you cannot have both the LCD and external VGA and displayport.  I think you can have 2 external displayport displays and either a 3rd external via VGA port, or the built in LCD.   I remember trying out some of these a year or so ago, and I seem to recall that you needed a dock to get 3 external, or 2 external and the internal LCD to work on the T430s.

  • What happened to the multi-vlan feature?

I've read cisco documentation that discusses the multi-vlan feature on the 2900 XL series, but not for the 2950s. Is this functionality provided in a different way on the 2950s?

The short answer is yes, via trunking.
The multi-vlan feature was originally supported on the early 2900XL hardware since the asics used at the time did not support ISL or dot1q encapsulation. When the updated 2900XL and the 3500XL were released they had asics that did support ISL and dot1q encapsulation and so multi-vlan support was no longer required. A decision was made to keep the multi-vlan feature available for these platforms... I assume... so that customers with a mix of 'old' and 'new' hardware could configure them the same.
When the 2950 and 3550 were released a decision was made to no longer support the multi-vlan feature since the hardware of both already supported either ISL and dot1q (3550) or dot1q (2950).

This is a very general question. I'd recommend the documentation section at
    http://e-docs.bea.com/tuxedo/tux81/ads/adfig.htm#1253022 for a good overview
of how to set up a multi-machine configuration file.
Also, you may want to work with some of the Tuxedo sample applications to
get a feel for how to set up a Tuxedo configuration file. The bankapp
sample application located in $TUXDIR/samples/atmi/bankapp has a 2-machine
configuration and is a good application to gain familiarity with Tuxedo in a
    multiple machine environment.

  • Configured material(Material Variants) with VC multi-level configuration

    Hi experts,
I have a question about VC, VC can be a multi-level configuration, and it can be configuration level by level in sales order, this configurable material replace by a configured material(Material Variants ) . however I can only config the first level in Material Variants(MM02 MRP3; the configrable material is a multi-level)! how to solve it?
If we can not multi level config the VC materil in the configured material, how can it replace the configurable material in sales order?
    Thanks
    lance

    Hi Lance,
You can do straight away also without user exit .
There is feature called Variant Matching in Variant configuration. If you can go throgh this and do the step by step configuration and in configuration profile setting you have to set Variant matching Indicator , then Make the Exclusion characterstics ,
With all the steps , Once the Configurable material is configured in Sales order if it finds the variant matched with the existing variant in the system , then Config Material will be replaced by Material Variant as a line item in the sales order.
    Thanks

  • CF installer server or multi-server configuration

Previous versions of CF installer allow you to install either server or multi-server configuration.
This made it hard to change a CF box from server to multi-server since you would have to re-install CF to apply change.
CF10 installer lets you install stand-alone installation. After installing ColdFusion in stand-alone mode, you can create multiple instances (provided you have an Enterprise or Dev license).
Nice. Easy to alter a CF box from server to multi-server.
    Thanks, Carl.

  • 3550, 12.0(5)WC9, "switchport multi vlan 24,25"== 3750, 12.2(25)SEC2, ?

    Dear all;
Many IOS trains for the 2950, the 3550 and the 6500 has mode "multi" for its ports to make one port belonging to different vlans. It is issued as follows:
    interface FastEthernet0/16
    description xxxxxxxxxx
    duplex full
    speed 100
    switchport multi vlan 24,25
    spanning-tree portfast
What is the corresponding mode for the 3750 platforms running under 12.2(25)SEC2 IOS?
    Regards

    Hi;
Nope! There is no prerequisite -other than sited in this document. And there is no "multi vlan" condition.
Please review the same document you've posted."
    Step 4
    monitor session session_number destination {interface interface-id [, | -] [encapsulation replicate]}
Specify the SPAN session and the destination port (monitoring port).
For session_number, specify the session number entered in step 3.
Note For local SPAN, you must use the same session number for the source and destination interfaces.
For interface-id, specify the destination port. The destination interface must be a physical port; it cannot be an EtherChannel, and it cannot be a VLAN.
(Optional) [, | -] Specify a series or range of interfaces. Enter a space before and after the comma; enter a space before and after the hyphen.
(Optional) Enter encapsulation replicate to specify that the destination interface replicates the source interface encapsulation method. If not selected, the default is to send packets in native form (untagged).
Note You can use monitor session session_number destination command multiple times to configure multiple destination ports. "
    And hereafter an example:
"This example shows how to remove any existing configuration on SPAN session 2, configure SPAN session 2 to monitor received traffic on all ports belonging to VLANs 1 through 3, and send it to destination Gigabit Ethernet port 2. • Port with multi-vlan for voice and data??

    Hi guys,
I've a situation where my VOIP and DATA on a different segments. Voice is 10.x.x.x riding on VLAN 701. And my data is 192.x.x.x riding on VLAN 100.
The problem occur when our receptionist PC have a software installed for call forwarding for our general line. This software need to be on the same vlan with the IP Phone vlan which is 701. If I put her PC on those vlan, she can't access
to our LAN which is vlan 100. So she can't check her email etc.
Can I know what is the options I have? Can I configured multi-vlan for her PC on the switch? We are using Cisco PoE 3560 switch. Thanks.

    Hi,
on the L3 switch, you should have an IP address for both VLAN 701 and 100. So, the L3 switch is doing inter-VLAN routing.
This means, unless you have ACL blocking traffic, any device will be able to reach any other device, even on a different VLAN.
And, no matter where you put voice and applications, everything will work anyway.

  • ISE 1.2 AUP Multi-Portal Configuration

Currently we have ISE 1.2 configured using a multi-portal configuration.  We use a guest portal for both Guest Access and for devices we consider non-compliant employee.  Guest users are authenticated against an inernal user database in ISE, and the company owned devices auth against AD.  If we login with a guest account that was created using the sponsor portal, we do not get the acceptable usage policy to check before getting access. If we login using the AD account, we do get the Acceptable Usage Policy to check before getting access.  It appears this is the same portal, so why do we not get it for both?

  • How to create a multi-level configuration sales order?

    Hi,
My client use configurable material to sell computers. And the production mode is MTO. One sales order item correspond with a production order
Now my client also sell array which consist of two computers, two storage, one UPS power etc. That means I must realize multi-level configuration. First, choose the computer type. Second, based on the choosed computer in first step, choose the cpu, disk and so on. And then based on the sales order item, there must be several production order related to the same sales order item.
Now I have semi-finished product B1,B2--computer. Class type is 300. Many characteristics is allocated to the class. B type material has the BOM which consist of cpu, disk etc.
Then I created the finished product A--array. Class type is 300. Allocated characteristics is the B1,B2. A has the BOM which consist of B1,B2 etc.
When I create sales order, I can only config the first level, choose computers for A, can not choose cpu, disk for computers.
So, how can I find a solution for this scenario?
        Thanks in advance.

    Thanks, Waza
    1.  Does the Sales order BOM explode in the sales order?
No. Just one top item would be ok for my client.
    2. Why do thy want this in the sales order?  They can explode the BOM in the production order, do they then need pricing at the component level?
They do not need pricing at the component level. Exploding the BOM in the production order is acceptable. But how can I config the configurable material in components of production order?
I tried collective order, but the second level of configurable material can not generate production order. I just make use of special procurement 52 in MRP2 of top finished product. Is there something I missed?
    Thanks again.

  • Multi-track recording question

    Multi-track recording question
Hey, just need some help on multi tracking using audition, hope this is the right forum?
Wanted to know if anyone has a clue about assigning inputs from an audio interface to separate tracks on a recording program (ie: Adobe audition)
I record live with my band alot, and have every amp and the kit mic'd up, but how do i make it so that each microphone is recording to a different track on the PC?
My interface is an M audio fast track ultra, if that is of any use.
    Any advice appreciated! Thanks!

In Audition, assuming that you can see all of the inputs available in the Hardware Setup, you find the right-facing arrow (input assign) on each track in MV's Main view, and you click on the box it's pointing to, go to Mono, and select the input you want for that particular track. The mono ones say [01M], [02M], etc. If you want to record a stereo track, then select the Stereo option where the inputs are paired and say [01S] et seq. This would have input 1 as left, input 2 as right.
If you can't see all of the inputs available, try selecting the ASIO driver in Hardware Setup...

  • Using Basic or Multi-tier configuration for WLS Clusters...

    Ok,
The scenario is: I'm using WLS6.1 (hopefully, version doesn't matter here)
with three instances clustered. Each instance provides all Services:
Servlets / JSPs/ EJBs / Database communication... I'm using the Basic
configuration described on the BEA documentation....
Now, I want to move forward to a Multi-tier configuration, where the first
layer will serve Servlets and JSPs and the second layer will serve EJBs.
The problem: On the first scenario, I was looking EJBs with the Default
InitialContext() constructor without the environment, since everybody was on
              the same JVM...
What do I have to do, so my Servlets start looking for EJBs on the second
cluster now? Do I have to re-write every single lookup? Can I use a
jndi.properties file on the first layer - on the presentation tier?
              Thanks in Advance,
              Marcelo.

              Thanks Patrick!
But my actual problem starts here. The Servlets aren't mine. We have to support
applications which run atop our product(which is a bunch of beans+RMI Objects
running on the top of WLS) in a backward compatible way with a standalone.
Will try and make a post if I can find a 'configurable' way out.
