Multi-touch and launchpad bugs.

Hello. I have got a MacBook Pro 13' 2010. After Mavericks installation i found some bugs with launchpad:
Icons staying in this position for all time. And if I want to scroll them i must do many actions on my trackpad instead of one. Sometimes Launchpad doesn't opens completly:
In this condition i can't use my Mac.
Second problem is multi-toch disabling. It works wery bad. Rotation and zoom aren't works at all. Sometimes i have problems with scroll too. Reboot can fix that for short time.
Sorry for my English, if it possible, please answer me in Russian.

  • Multi-touch and Multi-screen

    I just saw the presentations of the PDC2008 (via the net since I couldn't make it to the PDC).
    It's nice to see that we can add multi-touch functionality to a native, unmanaged application, just handling WM_TOUCH, similar to WM_MOUSE events at this moment.
    However, with more and more people using multiple screens attached to their PC (especially our development department, were multiple screens are handy for debugging), how are the multiple screens going to work in combination with multi-touch.
    I cannot drag my finger fluently from 1 screen to another without lifting my finger, so how is this going to work?
    Anyone an idea?
    Patje

    Hi Patje.
    From the OS perspective, while we are not prioritizing multi-touch capability across multiple monitors, there are some scenarios that should work just fine right now:
    One multi-touch monitor and one regular monitorconfigured together.
    Two multi-touch monitors (but not with simultaneous input)
    Unfortunately, at this time you would need to use your mouse to drag from one monitor across to another. If you had two multi-touch monitors you could drag an object so that it straddles both monitors and then pick it up again on the other monitor. Unfortunately, there's just no way to bridge that physical space between the monitors in a fluid fashion at this time.
    Thanks so much for the question. It's interesting to think about this.
    Sincerely,
    Eliot - MSFT

  • Satellite C55-A-1N1 - multi touch and downloading Toshiba Life Space

    Hello people,
    My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C55-A-1N1 and the Multi-touch functionality has stopped working. It is not recognising any swipes or pinches or rotation movements.
    Furthermore, i would like to enquire how i can download Toshiba Life Space on this laptop please.
    I would really appreciate your time and support in this matter please.
    Thank you very much!

    Hi
    Check please touchpad settings (Properties for Synaptics) and touchpad functionality. Be sure all options you need are enabled.
    Toshiba Life Space
    I presume you want to use Bulletin Board and Reel Time, right? If Im remembering well this was offered few years ago and it was worked with older machines and Windows 7. These applications can be downloaded on Toshiba support and download page but I don't know if they will work with Win8.

  • Multi-touch and a WinClone image

    I used a WinClone image of Vista from my MBP to create a Vista Boot Camp instance on my new iMac. It worked perfectly except that the Multi-Touch driver keeps trying to install itself via software update. I allow it to do so, I reboot, but the next time software update runs, it tries to install it all over again.
    Obviously, I don't need the Multi-Touch driver on my iMac, but for the life of me, I don't see how to get rid of it. I assume it's embedded in my WinClone image from my MBP (where it is required), but I don't see a way of removing it. I'd even be happy if it would just take the update and be done with it, but it doesn't do that either.
    Any thoughts?

    The best you can do. Is center your fingers in the center of the iPhone Touch Screen. And pull fingers outwards this will zoom in. or Double tap the area you want to zoom in closer to then perform the pinch or expansion of fingers.

  • Support for Multiple Multi-Touch Screens

    hello,
    I have written some code that implements the multi-touch and it has been working fine with just one multi-touch screen.  However, someone using my program with 2 multi-touch screens hooked up is getting no input from the second device.  I did not
    see anything documentation referring to more than one multi-touch device, although the existence of hSource in the TOUCHINPUT structure would imply multiple devices are supported.  After searching the forums, I found this post
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/tabletandtouch/thread/9c11871d-945c-4f7b-bdaa-a1b1452959b8/
    in which someone stated that 2 multi-touch monitors should work fine, but not with simultaneous input.  Since the post is almost 2 years old, I am wondering if anything has changed, and whether this might be the problem my user is having.  Or is
    there some way to tell if it is a driver issue?  I am not using the gesture library, just retrieving data with GetTouchInputInfo.  I'll appreciate if anybody can point me to documentation or mention their experiences with multiple devices.
    thank you.

    thank you for your quick reply.  I have gotten a few more details and the problem is not the scenario you suspected.  They are using 1 window spanning 2 multi-touch monitors.  The problem does seem to be related to simultaneous input.  If
    they have a finger down on the first monitor, my program does not receive any events from the second monitor.  If they are not pressing down on the first monitor, the input from the second monitor comes through.
    Does Windows 7 support simultaneous input from 2 or more multi-touch monitors?  Is there something I have to do so that my program will work correctly?  Or are there driver specific issues, and if so, where can I get help for that?
    thank you.

  • Macbook multi-touch functionality with LION OSX

    I know that some of the older MacBooks (2006-07) have multi-touch trackpad. Are some of those models only one or two finger touch? I am wanting to upgrade to Lion OSX and want to make sure the trackpad will support three and four finger gestures. And which is the oldest macbook model that supports multi-touch and will support all the functions on OSX LION?

    Ok, I called AppleCare about this earlier too and they told me that as long as the macbook can support Lion, then it can use the muliti-touch functions. The portables listed in that article have multi-touch trackpads and will support those features. I guess my questions is the macbook that support 2 finger swipe or scrolling are not really multi-touch trackpads then, so they will not support those four finger gestures of Lion?

  • New OS X Lion multi-touch gestures.

    Will the new multitouch gestures that are coming with OS X Lion work on my white macbook?

    Does the MacBook have a Multi-Touch Trackpad.....my early 2008 MacBook has regular trackpad (no Multi-Touch) and in 10.6.7 I do not have the ability to use the software included for Multi-Touch...
    My late 2006 iMac (old) also has 10.6.7 installed on it and with my Magic Trackpad I am able to enjoy Snow Leopard's gesturing....
    You will need to check the Specifications of your MacBook under  'Input' to see if your MacBook has a Multi-Touch Trackpad....

  • Keyboard and Multi-Touch trackpad may become unresponsive on MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)

    Folks,
    I have exacly same sympton described here on my 5 day old 15 inc macbook pro.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5296
    MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013): Keyboard and Multi-Touch trackpad may become unresponsive
    Has anone tried to apply this patch on 15 inc ?
    Kind Regards,
    Neroshige

    The patch is only for MBP late 2013 13 inch. 15 inch is not able to install this patch
    I'm facing this problem intermittently.
    When my keyboard & trackpad went unresponsive, I plug in my USB keyboard and the keyboard & trackpad went back normal.
    I search the web and somebody highlight it may due to connector to keyboard/trackpad appear to be curled.
    Not sure is hardware problem or software bug...

  • IPhone SDK Multi-Touch Bug?

    Hi,
    I'm trying to handle multi-touch events and this is the bug I'm seeing ( using SDK beta 4 ):
    The first touch I make has a valid position ( using locationInView instance method ). However, any touches made while the first touch is being held down have invalid positions ( 0,0 ). Here's my code:
    // Handle touch events
    - (void)touchesChangedWithEvent:(UIEvent*)event
    printf( "* TOUCHES CHANGED EVENT!\n" );
    NSSet *touches = [event allTouches];
    for( UITouch *touch in touches )
    // Grab the location of the touch
    CGPoint touchPos = [touch locationInView:self];
    // Touch began
    if( touch.phase == UITouchPhaseBegan )
    printf( "**** TOUCH BEGAN AT ( %f, %f )\n", touchPos.x, touchPos.y );
    iRKInputSetNewTouch();
    iRKInputSetPos( touchPos.x, touchPos.y );
    // Touch moved
    else if( touch.phase == UITouchPhaseMoved )
    printf( "**** TOUCH MOVED AT ( %f, %f )\n", touchPos.x, touchPos.y );
    iRKInputSetPos( touchPos.x, touchPos.y );
    // Touch stationary
    else if( touch.phase == UITouchPhaseStationary )
    printf( "**** TOUCH STATIONARY AT ( %f, %f )\n", touchPos.x, touchPos.y );
    iRKInputSetPos( touchPos.x, touchPos.y );
    // Touch ended
    else if( touch.phase == UITouchPhaseEnded )
    printf( "**** TOUCH ENDED AT ( %f, %f )\n", touchPos.x, touchPos.y );
    iRKInputClearTouch();
    iRKInputResetPos();
    Anyone else seeing this? Or am I doing something wrong?
    Also, any help on displaying source code would be appreciated too
    Thanks!
    - Bryan

    So, with the following multiple event code I seem to be getting an even worse problem: Multiple touches aren't even triggering the events and my first touch is always the only UITouch in the set ( even when I have two or three fingers touching the screen ). This is on the device using SDK beta 4.
    // Handles the start of a touch
    - (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event
    printf( "* TOUCH BEGAN
    for( UITouch *touch in touches )
    // Grab the location of the touch
    CGPoint touchPos = [touch locationInView:self];
    // Touch began
    //if( touch.phase == UITouchPhaseBegan )
    printf( "**** TOUCH BEGAN AT ( %f, %f )
    ", touchPos.x, touchPos.y );
    iRKInputSetNewTouch();
    iRKInputSetPos( touchPos.x, touchPos.y );
    // Handles the continuation of a touch.
    - (void)touchesMoved:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event
    printf( "* TOUCH MOVED
    for( UITouch *touch in touches )
    // Grab the location of the touch
    CGPoint touchPos = [touch locationInView:self];
    // Touch moved
    //if( touch.phase == UITouchPhaseMoved )
    printf( "**** TOUCH MOVED AT ( %f, %f )
    ", touchPos.x, touchPos.y );
    iRKInputSetPos( touchPos.x, touchPos.y );
    // Handles the end of a touch event.
    - (void)touchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event
    printf( "* TOUCH ENDED
    for( UITouch *touch in touches )
    // Grab the location of the touch
    CGPoint touchPos = [touch locationInView:self];
    // Touch ended
    //if( touch.phase == UITouchPhaseEnded )
    printf( "**** TOUCH ENDED AT ( %f, %f )
    ", touchPos.x, touchPos.y );
    iRKInputClearTouch();
    iRKInputResetPos();
    So when this is run and press the screen I get correct messages output to the console telling me a touch began / moved with the correct position. However, when I keep that press held and press somewhere else I get no other messages. When I move the first touch ( while keeping both touches held to the screen ) it gives me correct messages again but yet it's the only UITouch object in "touches".
    Anyone else seeing problems with this?
    Any help would be great! Thanks!

  • Bug on multi touch screen

    iPad 2 multi touch bug
    http://youtu.be/ck-9aYD8u3k
    the same happend to me with my iPod Touch 4G some times.
    but never happend that on my iPad 2.
    im using iOS 5.0.1, with out jailbreak.

    Have you tried a reset to see if that helps ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
    Also do you have any problems when multi-tasking gestures are turned off ?

  • Photoshop CC 2014 Multi touch pinching, panning and rotating working, but no tapping!

    Hi,
    I have installed today PS CC 2014, the Adobe team done a great job, multi touch is great, big buttons is great on my Vaio 13, and all is nice.
    But guess what, I can't click (Single regular tap) with touch, I only can do it with a mouse or pen.
    Now, I'm happy to hear the news and went ahead and ordered a 23 inch touchscreen from Acer, that touch screen doesn't support pen input, so I would love to have my single touch tap enabled on it.
    Any ideas what to do about single touch tap, or dragging the brush to draw?

    I'm just curios if there's the option available now or not yet.
    I'm not sure what's the benefits behind multi touch without being able to do a single touch or tap.
    Not all tablets or touchscreens do actually have a pen.

  • IPhone and multi-touch

    I assume everyone has been following the iPhone announcement
    today:
    http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/09/live-from-macworld-2007-steve-jobs-keynote/
    I also am assuming that since it runs OS X, we can download
    Flash 8 & 9
    desktops apps (and even created standalone). Correct?
    But what we really need is to be able to tap into the
    multi-touch interface:
    1. stretching and zooming photography
    2. zooming and exploring maps
    3. getting all one's fingers into intereractive paint and
    draw tools, etc.
    I used a multi-touch at SIGGRAPH Boston 2006
    http://cs.nyu.edu/~jhan/ftirtouch/
    ) and it is very very cool.
    Is Adobe partnering with Apple to produce special fscommands
    for a iPhone
    centric version of Flash?
    [I have a huge load of apps and ideas, as well as a startup
    company if Adobe
    will pursue this!]
    Dr. Yechezkal Gutfreund - Adobe ACE for Mobile Devices

    Mark, right on.
    It would be a logical platform for Flash given some of its
    core
    philosophy in its design. However, the details about OSX and
    Safari
    support are still far too vague as you point out below.
    It wouldn't surprise me in the least, if they modified "OSX"
    to "OSX
    Mobile" as they move closer to deployment ... but, perhaps
    all they need
    is a kernel to technically call it "OSX"? Not sure.
    Speaking of which ... I think we are forgetting too, how
    stable Symbian
    and other mobile device centric OSes and platforms are. How
    long have
    they been working at "OSX for the iPhone", one year? perhaps
    two? Looks
    impressive in the demo ... but it's only a demo. How much was
    "off the
    cuff" and not stagged, we have no way of knowing ...
    My point being, a SBOD ("spinning ball of death") on a mobile
    device
    might equate to a death sentence (well, for a first time user
    iPhone
    experiences), *even* with all the great UI and features
    they've added.
    Here's hoping they do some exhaustive device and field
    testing before
    rollout later this year ... in order to limi the amount of
    software
    and/or firmware updates they have to do later on (we've seen
    that on the
    initial IPods to be sure) ...
    All in all, I'm hopeful, given Apple's track record with
    previous
    desktop versions of OSX and delivering stable releases (well
    more
    reliable and complete than say, Microsoft), they'll have
    something worth
    putting on the iPhone come end of year. Time will tell.

  • Pros and Cons to "booting" iPad 2 as developer to use multi-touch gestures??

    Just like it sounds...
    I have a new iPad 2 that i would like to have more multi-touch gestures and have heard doing this will do it. Also, heard that possibly the new iOS 5 will have it already. So how exactly do i do this and what are the pros and cons.
    thanks,
    John

    It should be enabled in iOS 5 later in the year - from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#more :
    iOS 5 includes a few new moves and shortcuts to help you get around even quicker on your iPad: Using four or five fingers, swipe up to reveal the multitasking bar, pinch to return to the Home screen, and swipe left or right to switch between apps
